The creation stood in front of her before removing his top hat and welcomed her to the bureau with a hint of an accent to his voice.

"Good evening. Welcome to the Bureau." He said and it snapped Serene out of her thoughts.

Thar voice! The one she kept hearing in her memories was him! But could it be really him? Serene was mystified by his appearance as he looked so dashing and cool. She regained her composure as she breathed in amazement.

"A-Amazing... I mean, y-you're amazing." Serene stammered in awe.

The cat creation took that as a compliment before then started to speak.

"Thank you. In case you haven't noticed, you're now in a world quite different from your own. This is a refuge for creations. Whenever someone creates something with all of their heart, then that creation is given a soul, you see. Like me and Toto there." He explained before his gaze turned to the pillar with the statue.

Serene followed his gaze to the statue and gasped softly when it glowed and suddenly became a real crow. The crow flapped their wings a bit to stretch before tucking them back in.

"Oh my!" Serene gasped in awe.

"That is Toto. A stone statue with a soul." The cat creation introduced the crow.

The crow, Toto, was quite surprised that they have a visitor after so long but something about this girl seemed different from the rest.

"I see you have a visitor today, Baron. How unusual and let alone someone with a pale complexion." Toto said and revealed the name of the cat creation.

"Indeed. She's quite a fetching and charming one too." Baron chuckled while putting his top hat back on his head as Serene turned towards him while fighting a blush when he called her charming.

"Your name?" Serene questioned curiously as the cat creation, Baron, looked towards her.

"I am Baron Humbert von Gikkingen. The artisan who created me gave me that title." Baron fully introduced himself.

"I'll just call you Humbert." Serene said sweetly and that made Baron's eyes widened as a memory flashed through his mind.

"Where are my manners? I am Baron Humbert von Gikkingen. And may I know the name of who's with me?"

"I am Baroness... May I call you Humbert?"

The memory stopped as he blinked and noticed that three pairs of eyes were looking at him curiously. Muta was looking at him in confusion while Toto was a little worried but the girl seemed concerned and worried.

He cleared his throat and regained his composure as he walked forward to stand in front of her. Best to keep his personal issues aside.

"So, let's get down to business. You say you're having a bit of trouble with those cats from the cat kingdom?" Baron asked curiously as the girl nodded as her expression became troubled.

"Uh, yes. That's right. Just yesterday my sister saved their prince from getting hit by a truck" She said as she seemed to hesitate to continue but did so.

"And now the entire cat kingdom won't stop trying to repay me in her." She said as Baron almost bristled at the thought as he pieced it together.

"I see." He inquired as she nodded.

He can feel that there's more to the story. Muta snorted as he got off the chair and threw the newspaper on it.

"Huh! Serves you right. Thought she'd help the poor kitty, did she?" He snapped as everyone turned to him.

Toto was giving him an annoyed look while Baron was giving him a warning look while Serene seemed confused and surprised.

"You should've minded your own business, lady." He continued as he walked towards them.

"Muta, what in the world is your problem? This girl's sister saved one of your own kind. You should be grateful, you idiot." Toto argued.

Toto was annoyed by his outburst as he flew low causing Muta to duck down as Toto glided towards the small house and perched on the roof.

Muta gave him an annoyed look before directing his annoyance to the ravenhead who looked a little fidgety and uncomfortable.

"Idiot? Now she's in trouble for it in her sister's place, isn't she? So she was stupid, that's all I'm saying." He told her as she looked down and Baron wanted to make Muta stop as he decided to ask where he met her.

"And where did you come across her, Muta?" He asked curiously.

"At the crossroads. Somehow she knew about the Cat Bureau." His answer piqued his interest as he looked back towards the girl again as his own curiosity and interest about her was growing.

"That's because a voice told me about it during a cleaning routine at school and I don't know whose voice it was, though." She answered as Baron is becoming more curious.

"A voice?" He inquired curiously as Muta gave her an annoyed look.

"You're hearing voices? Check yourself in a loony bin. Don't bother us with your mental-" Muta cut himself off with a yelp of pain when Toto struck him with his claws.

"YEOW!!! Knock it off!" Muta hissed in annoyance as Toto was annoyed with him.

"You knock it off! Quit being so catty!" Toto rebuked as he went back in to strike him.

"Don't try that again!" Muta growled but ducked down to dodge Toto.

Their infamous fight incited as Baron just let out a quiet sigh. He turned to the girl who was watching the scene with a small awkward smile.

"Um, should we stop them?" She asked as she turned towards him and he quickly got lost in her blue eyes but he shook his head.

"I didn't get your name, miss." He said.

He and his three compatriots introduced themselves but she never said her name.

"Oh where are my manners? It's Serene. My name is Serene though I cannot remember my real name due to my amnesia." Serene explained while introducing herself.

"I see. Well, Miss Serene, please step into the Bureau. Come along now." He said while feeling a pleasant warmth in his heart.

He walked towards the house as Serene just looked to where Muta and Toto are as the two are still fighting each other.

"Don't worry about them." Baron reassured her.

She walked towards the house as the argument kept on going in the background.

"Try that again, chicken wings!"

"Can't you tell the difference between a chicken and crow?!

"Of course I can. I'm not the birdbrain here!"

"Well, at least I don't look like a giant marshmallow!"

"Oh yeah? At least I don't have a bird brain!"

"You already said that, you idiot!"

"I did and I think go fry yourself, you big chicken!"

"You already called me a chicken! You got a hairball in your face!"

Inside the office, Baron took off his top hat and coat while resting his cane on the coat's rack when an amazed gasp made his ear flicker towards the door as he turned to see Serene looking around in awe and he couldn't help but smile slightly.

"Wow, this place is beautiful." Serene gushed in awe and surprise.

When Serene entered the house, she was taken away by the beauty as they looked all Victorian styled themed.

"Sit wherever you like. Make yourself at home." He told her as she snapped out of her thoughts and nodded as she walked towards the couch.

"Thanks." She sat down as she looked around.

A peculiar photo caught her attention as it has a white cat figurine, smiling softly with soft blue eyes and a parasol. Something about that picture seemed familiar but she didn't have to ponder it as Baron asked her something.

"Milk with your tea or lemon?" He asked as he got two teacups out.

"Milk please." She told him.

"Good choice." Baron smiled as he turned the kettle on.

While Baron was making tea, Serene couldn't help but feel more at home and yet she was here for the first time and she couldn't stop the feeling that everything was very familiar.

"Here you are." A voice said.

She snapped out of her thoughts when Baron handed a cup of tea for her but she saw that he was looking at her in concert and curiosity.

"Are you feeling well, Miss Serene?" He asked in concern as she smiled and accepted the tea.

"Yes, I'm alright." Serene reassured him as she held the tea cup in her hand.

"That's my own personal blend of tea. It's a little different each time, so I can't guarantee the taste." Baron said as Serene took a small sip and was amazed by the flavor.

"Wow, that's the best tea I've ever tasted." Serene couldn't help but marvel.

'And yet... So familiar. Everything feels and looks familiar...' She couldn't help but think.

"Then you are lucky." Baron said with a smile.

"Just tastes like boiled grass to me." A voice said and both of them turned to see Muta coming in through the door and closing it behind him while Baron went over to a chair.

Toto came in through the balcony window and looked down at them, especially Muta.

"Tea is too refined for your crude taste buds." He teased as Muta gave him an annoyed look.

"At least I don't eat worms." He snapped at him as he walked to the couch to sit down and Serene scooted a bit so he could sit down.

"Muta, have a seat and kindly tell us what you know about the Kingdom of Cats please." Baron inquired from his compatriot as he sat down on his chair. Best to get straight to the point.

"It's a dangerous place. You shouldn't set a foot in there if you don't believe in yourself." Muta told him as Baron hummed and sipped his tea.

"That's a very good point." He said.

Serene fidgeted slightly as she looked at the tea in her cup.

"They said not only will they kidnap me, they're going to force me to marry to the king's son, Prince Lune since I'm the oldest..." Serene hesitantly explained more of the situation which almost made Baron spit out his tea and for Toto to bristle his feathers in shock.

'What?! They want her to marry their prince?! I won't let them!' Baron bristled on the inside but he couldn't understand why he was feeling so protective of this particular girl. It was a very familiar feeling.

'Okay, that's so messed up! Why would they even want to marry off their prince to the girl...? That doesn't make any sense and Baron seems more protective of the girl.' Toto thought. He has been noticing how Baron was reacting to the situation and couldn't help but wonder why.

"So why don't you do it, kid? You'll be set for life." Muta snickered which made Serene bristled as he was leaning back against the couch.

"Are you crazy?!" She squeaked.

"What? It might not be all that bad." He told her but got a small glare from the ravenhead

"That's ridiculous." Toto pointed out.

"She won't know until she tries it." Muta added as he looked at Toto with a smirk.

"Now, then." Baron said as he understood the situation and set his teacup down before standing up.

"I've always entertained the idea of paying a visit to the Kingdom of Cats. Sounds like now is the time." Baron said with a glint in his eye.

This might be a good opportunity to visit the Cat Kingdom and possibly find a clue to where she had disappeared to... the thought of her made him frown slightly but he shook it off.

"Have a nice trip, Baron. Hope you make it back some day." Muta said which made Baron look at him and Muta could see that he's serious about the situation that became a problem.

"You're coming with me." Baron told him but Muta stubbornly refused.

"Nah, I'll pass. But thanks for thinking of me." He said as Toto looked at the ravenhead in concern.

"Baron, you're not going to take her there, are you?" Toto stated and Baron was getting to that as he started pacing.

He can't just take her with him and put her in danger but leaving her here alone is unwise without someone keeping an eye on her.

"We can't leave her unprotected. But if Muta wants to stay here, he can keep an eye on her." Baron said before he turned to Muta.

Muta gets the idea and instantly refuses.

"No way. You can't leave her here. I'm not baby-sitting." Muta refused.

"Why? Are you busy at the moment?" Baron asked and Muta shook his head.

"Not really." He said.

Serene has been watching them and figured that she needs to do this on her own.

"Um... Listen, I'll just go home." She suddenly said which made everyone turn towards her in shock and surprise.

"Hmm?" Muta and Baron looked to her in surprise.

"What?" Tot uttered in shock.

She set her teacup on the table and stood up and bowed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause you so much trouble. Muta's right." She said as she headed towards the door

Baron looked at Muta who avoided his gaze knowing that it was his fault the girl was leaving.

"It's my fault for getting involved with those cats in the first place. I'll figure something out and hopefully find the answers." She said as she held the doorknob.

Baron hummed and put his hand on his chin.

"Well, then, so sorry the Cat Bureau couldn't be of any help to you." Baton apologized that he wasn't able to help with her situation.

Muta, seeing all of this and feeling guilty, finally gave in.

"Ah... All right, all right." This made everyone turn to him as Baron didn't even hide the smirk on his face.

"I'll watch the little baby." He added as Toto had a teasing grin.

"Good kitty." Toto teased which made Muta shoot him a look.

"Then it's all settled. Serene, you can stay right here with Muta." Baron said as Serene looked towards him.

"Are you sure?" She asked as Baron stepped forward and pointed to Muta with his thumb.

"Don't worry about Muta. He likes to complain a lot but actually he has a heart of gold." Baron insisted as Muta huffed.

"Hmph!"

Serene thought about it and nodded before smiling towards Muta who looked away.

"I see. So he's just a big softie." Serene added with a soft smile.

Baron couldn't help but return the smile.

"You could say that." He nodded.

"And this is the thanks I get." Muta complained as Serene let go of the door handle.

"Thank you for your help. Moo-ta." Serene said but purposely said his name that way.

Muta bristled and looked at her in offense.

"What?! Moo?! Are you saying that I'm a fat cow?!" Muta exclaimed in annoyance but she had an innocent smile but on the inside, she was laughing hysterically.

"I don't know what you mean." She said way too oblivious which made Toto start laughing behind his wing as Baron had to hide his smile of amusement behind his hand.

"I like this girl better every minute." Toto snickered and Baron couldn't help but agree with him. There's only one person that calls and teases Muta.

"I'm outta here!" Muta exclaimed as he changed his mind in a flip of a switch but Baron was a step ahead of him.

"That's too bad. Because I was just going to get out some angel fruit cake I have in the cupboard." He wondered purposely and Muta took the bait and went towards the cupboards to find it.

"Where in the cupboard?" He asked as Baron followed.

"Uh, it's in the upper-right shelf." He pointed.

Muta found it and shoved some books aside from Baron's desk.

"Why didn't you say so?" Muta told him.

"I think our guest deserves a proper afternoon tea." Baron said as he knows that Muta eats a lot and the cat creation quickly grabbed his inkwell so it won't spill.

"This calls for some of my special mulberries." Toto said and left.

Serene watched Toto as she thought that the situation might turn out well.

"You're too much, Humbert. A tea party and everything? Is there anything I can do to help?" Serene offered her help.

Baron turned to her after giving Muta instructions to cut the cake evenly.

"Yes, there is something." Baron started as he walked towards her to give her some advice.

"What I need you to do is to learn just one thing. Always believe in yourself and hopefully regain your memories. Do this and no matter where you are, you will have nothing to fear." Baron told her as she looked up to him in confusion but nodded.

"Alright." Serene said as Baron smiled softly before Muta called him.

"Baron, hey, give me a hand with this whipped cream." Muta said as he got the ingredients to make it.

Baron turned to him.

"You're going all out." He muttered but Muta heard him and smirked as Baron walked over to help him.

"Better believe it." Muta said as he started to whisk the mixtures together.

Serene watched them curiously but with a smile.

"Who knows? Maybe this is the world I belong in." Serene muttered to herself.

She heard knocking on the door and turned towards it.

"Yes?" Serene said as walked towards the door.

"Hey, is that Toto?" She wondered.

She opened it, hoping it was Toto but she remembered that Toto uses the balcony windows to get in and instantly got a bad feeling and her bad feeling was confirmed when she saw that it was the cat from earlier.

"It's time to go to our kingdom, Miss Serene!" He cheerfully announced.

Serene backed up in shock and fright.

"You again! No! Oh no! Hey!" She yelped as cats started to enter and circle around her.

"Hey, get away from me!" She exclaimed.

Muta and Baron heard the commotion and stopped what they're doing to see what it was and saw what was happening. Serene fell on her back with a groan as the cats started to drag her out.

"Skip the tea." Baron simply said as both he and Muta spring into action as he grabbed his coat, top hat and cane off the rack.

"Don't let them take me away! Humbert, please help me!" Serene cried out as she dragged away.

Toto came in a second after she was carried away to warn them but was too late.

"Baron! Baron, a bunch of cats are headed this way! Oh no." He said but was too late as he saw the mess.

"A little late, birdbrain!" Muta argued as he went out the door and ran on all fours.

"Toto, give me a lift!" Baron ordered as he put his top hat on and coat and jumped on the balcony to get on Toto as the chase had begun.
