Disclaimer: I do not own Buffy: The Vampire Slayer or Charmed.
Feeling the heat of the sunlight on her face, Willow moaned softly and stirred as she blinked rapidly before her eyes fully opened before realizing her head was resting on Tara's shoulder, who was brushing Willow's hair with her fingers and Willow smiled, as if their love for each other had never vanished.
"Feels like a lifetime ago since we did that the last time." Willow said.
"To me it feels like yesterday." Tara said as they kissed before pulling away, while noticing how saddened Willow was as Tara ran her hand down Willow's cheek in assurance. "It's going to be alright."
"I want to believe that. I just feel so… powerless." Willow said before Tara looked into her eyes.
"Willow, true power doesn't come from your magic. It comes from your heart." Tara said, holding Willow's hand and Willow smiled before they held each other by their heads and pulled each other in for a kiss before Willow pulled away, looking saddened before Tara again held Willow by her face as their eyes met.
"I know what you're thinking. But as long as we're together, we won't let anything tear us apart from each other for long." Tara promised before they kissed again.
"I love you, Tara." Willow whispered.
"I love you too, Willow." Tara said as their legs entangled under the covers of the bed as they began snuggling towards each other and their hands examining every inch of each other's skin.
Piper had made breakfast for everyone as they gathered at the table, though Dawn was looking paler than the previous night as everyone looked at her concerned.
"Are you alright, Dawn?" Piper inquired.
"Honestly…" Dawn sighed. "I feel a bit better than before but… it's like one moment I'm fine, next one I feel like I'm about to wilt."
"Alright, we need to find a way to stop the Hollow." Buffy said as Willow and Tara were walking down the stairs, now dressed.
"It won't be easy, first we need the box which contained it, it's the only way to get it out of the Source and anyone else infected by it and get your Slayer powers and my magic back and save Dawn." Willow said.
"Actually, we don't need the box." Piper said, remembering. She was about to get up to the attic for the Book of Shadows, when Phoebe suddenly wailed in pain and fell down, clutching her head.
"Phoebe?" Paige asked.
"Phoebe, are you alright?" Melinda asked, when suddenly, she and Tara held themselves by their chests, while Phoebe let out a loud scream of anguish, all of them feeling devastating sense of pain washing over them.
Shane, Paige's ex-boyfriend she had dated when she had met the sisters, was currently in his apartment with his new girlfriend, when demons shimmered in and Shane and his girlfriend shot up from the couch and the demons formed fireballs in their hands. Realizing something supernatural was going on again, Shane tried to run as the demons threw fireballs, causing for the apartment to explode.
Ava Nicolae was on her way back home from work, but as she walked down an alley, she was ambushed by Darklighters who aimed their crossbows at her.
Owen Thurman was reading in the library, but turned around, when he saw some men in black outfit sneaking up on him, baring fangs and realizing they were vampires, Owen got up, ready for a fight before they came at him.
Anne Steele was still running the East Hills Teen Center, when suddenly, a group of men appeared in a shimmer and Anne and the employees and runaways stared in shock, when the men pulled out athames from their jackets.
Phoebe, curled to a ball and clutched her head, screaming in what seemed to be unending anguish, when everyone knelt to her, shaking her.
"Phoebe?" Piper asked.
"Phoebe!" Paige yelled.
Phoebe stopped screaming as she panted out heavily, while Paige and Tara breathed out.
"What's wrong?" Xander asked.
"Are you OK?" Paige inquired as Phoebe got up.
"What did you see, Phoebe?" Melinda asked.
"They're in danger…" Phoebe said.
"Yeah… I felt that too." Paige nodded.
"Who?" Piper asked.
"The innocents…" Phoebe whispered lowly, holding back tears.
"Which ones?" Melinda asked and Phoebe swallowed and paused before taking a deep breath.
"All of them. Every innocent we've ever saved… every charge… and not just ours…" Phoebe said, looking at Buffy, Willow, Xander, Faith and Tara. "Everyone you've ever helped. They're dying…"
Everyone looked at each other in horror.
The Underworld
The Source, now in Ethan's body, sat on the throne as he smirked maliciously. "I must say, the warlock's magic and his knowledge has proven useful. It was far too easy to find out the information about the Slayer."
"I'm not questioning your motives, my lord, but what does killing those innocents after all those years accomplish?" One of the demons questions.
The Source turned to the demon. "As long as I have the Hollow, they know they are powerless, they won't risk losing their powers to me again, but if you put them into a corner, they'll do anything to save the people they care about. Their pathetic sentimentality will be their ultimate downfall. And then I will finally crush the Charmed Ones."
The demon looked into the Source's eye.
"I see you doubt me, Nomed." The Source said.
"With all due respect, my lord, you've tried to kill the Charmed Ones before with the Hollow and failed. The Triad, Billie and Christy tried to kill the Charmed Ones with the Hollow and failed." Nomed pointed out.
"I'm even more powerful than ever. Nothing will stand in my way this time. Nothing." The Source said smugly.
Nomed was terrified but he schooled his expression and put on a confident smile as he nodded and bowed. "Of course, as long as you have the Hollow, they won't dare to challenge you."
The Source smiled. "I will tear apart everything the Charmed Ones and the Slayer have built, piece… by… piece. Dismantle who they are. Destroy what they stand for."
Nomed backed away as he nodded, though he was secretly unnerved by how much the Source was losing it. Its leadership was not going to bring any good to them.
Halliwell Manor
"Owen Grant?" Piper asked over the phone with the speaker on.
"Dead." Darryl said.
"Marcy Steadwell?"
"Dead."
"Anne Steele?" Buffy asked.
"There was a fire recently at the Los Angeles Teen Center. Lot of bodies burned beyond recognition, no way of identifying her, if she is dead."
"Billy Palmer?" Xander asked.
"Nothing yet. But all of the deaths so far listed are suspicious and look at best like random freak accidents, at worst we're looking at ritualistic killings. These have been stacking up in the past few days at least, if not weeks, all over California." Darryl said as he was going over the files in the precinct.
"So far we've got six dead, four missing and dozens of innocent still in danger?" Paige snapped.
"I'm sorry." Darryl said as he sighed. While his relationship with the Halliwells had not been on best of terms, even though they more or less reconciled, he knew how hard it was to eventually lose someone they had saved. "This isn't your fault."
"I know it's not. But it's our responsibility to put an end to this once and for all. If something happens and you as much as have a hunch you might be in danger…" Paige began.
"I'll call for you. Don't worry, Paige, I trust you." Darryl promised.
Paige nodded, relieved before Darryl hung up.
"I know he's just evil incarnate but what's the point in killing everyone we've ever saved?" Xander questioned.
"It's all a psychological game for him." Piper said.
"He has the Hollow and he knows we can do nothing without risking losing our powers to him." Phoebe said.
"He wants to show he's in control, he's tearing apart our life's work, make sure it was all for nothing." Faith said.
"How many activated Slayers might lose their powers and get killed?" Buffy pointed out, remembering the Bringers killing all the Potentials… Vi… Chao-Anh… Renee…
"I told Billie to look out for Darryl and his family, just in case." Paige said.
"How do we stop the Hollow?" Buffy asked.
"I know how." Piper said as she got up, remembering.
"Too bad you won't get the chance to do it."
They all turned around as Ethan shimmered in.
"Ethan." Buffy sneered.
"Guess again, Slayer." 'Ethan' smirked as his eyes turned pitch black with flames blazing in his eyes before he took on a different form and Buffy, Xander, Faith, Willow, Tara and Dawn cringed at its hideous look, though the Master looked even worse.
"The Source." Willow realized.
"What do you want?" Piper demanded.
"Your power. Surrender them to the Hollow and you have my word that I, nor any demon, will ever come for your family or the Slayer and her friends, ever again. Or I will kill every last person you have ever saved. Your life's work, I'll tear it apart. Piece. By. Piece." The Source said.
"As if we'd trust you." Phoebe said.
"You've brought into our family, our lives, nothing but pain, misery and death to everyone around." Paige said.
"And we've been doing this song and dance for too long. It ends here." Piper said.
"I agree." The Source said as he formed a fireball. "If you had said 'yes', I would've at least let you live while taking your power, so that you could live ordinary mortal lives with your families, knowing you can do nothing to stop me. But, then again, you've always been too stubborn. Say 'hello' to Prue for me."
Knowing they couldn't use their magic and risk the Hollow taking it, they all braced themselves as the Source threw the fireball and a giant explosion followed.
Piper, Phoebe, Xander and Faith fell down before noticing that they were in dark woods.
"Uh!" Piper grunted before she was the first to look around. "What the…"
"Where are we?" Xander wondered as he looked around.
Paige, Melinda, Buffy, Dawn, Willow and Tara fell down before noticing that they were back in the manor, only the Source wasn't there anymore. In fact, the manor looked completely empty. As if the battle had never happened.
"What just happened?" Buffy wondered.
"And where's the Source?" Melinda wondered.
Piper, Phoebe, Xander and Faith looked around as they walked down the woods, with the moonlight shining on them.
"Guys, I don't like this at all." Faith said.
"This wouldn't be the first time we'd almost die and end somewhere else." Phoebe said.
"Piper! Phoebe!" Paige yelled as she went upstairs.
"Mom! Wyatt! Chris!" Melinda cried.
"Xander!" Willow shouted as she and Buffy walked down the living room and dining room.
"Faith!" Buffy yelled.
"Where's the Source?" Dawn wondered, looking around.
Xander felt shuddering feeling. "Guys, I don't wanna be Debbie Downer, but you don't think that we're…"
"…dead?" Phoebe asked before shaking her head. "No, we've been dead before and this feels different."
Paige, Melinda, Buffy, Willow and Dawn had met back in the living room as Buffy asked the same thing.
"I'm not sure what happened but something pulled us out of there before the Source could kill us. The question is who, what, where and why?" Paige wondered.
"So we're not dead." Faith said.
"No."
Piper and Phoebe recognized the voice as their heads whipped to the sight in front of them as they stared in shock, while Xander and Faith didn't recognize the man in front of them.
Paige, Melinda and the Scoobies turned around, none of them recognizing the voice but Paige's and Melinda's eyes widened their eyes in shock, recognizing the dark-haired woman with green eyes in front of them from the family photos, even if they had never met in person.
"Well… not yet anyway." The woman said. "I wanted to see you under a bit different circumstances, but it's nice to finally meet face to face, Paige."
Paige and Melinda stood frozen and looked at disbelief at the woman in front of them.
"Oh, my God…" Paige whispered lowly.
"Cole?" Phoebe asked, staring in shock.
So, now the Source is trying to destroy the Charmed Ones and the Scoobies by tearing apart their life's work, killing all the innocents they have saved. Something similar was done in the follow-up comics in Charmed, though I don't recommend reading it, since the first half was more or less fine, then it was just going to hell with ruining some characters and repetitive storylines from the show, plus this was also done in Supernatural and Daredevil too that the villains tried to destroy the main characters by hunting down every innocent they had saved.
And Cole is back. While I find him poor man's Spike, as he was better as a villain, rather than antihero, the sisters', especially Phoebe's mistreatment of him went too far at times, even though it was understandable to an extent and let's not forget his shady actions with bringing Drake to Phoebe and using thorn demons to poison Piper, but there was some potential for redemption, so that's what I'm going to try to do, even I don't want to make it outright stupid like Arrowverse will.
As for the woman Paige, Melinda and the Scoobies meet, care to guess who it is?
So, what do you guys think?
