Mei is about to knock on the door when the pink door's swirls burn a bright white and the yellow star glows. The door opens, showing a terrain that Mei's never seen "Welcome to the Boiling Isles! Watch your step!"

The voice startled Mei, making her stumble backward and fall on her bottom "Whoa…" Mei looks at the terrain and motions Amelia to come over "What is this?" Amelia asks.

"I have no idea." At that moment, an idea popped into Mei's head "Why don't we check it out?"

Amelia looks at her cousin, baffled "What!? But we have no idea where this leads to!" Amelia yelled.

"Would you rather go home to your controlling mom?" Mei said, hitting Amelia with her own desire.

"I hate you. so much." Amelia said.

"Mei Ling Wu. The winner of many debates between best friends and cousins all over the world." Mei said triumphantly as she and Amelia stepped through the door.

Once through the door, the pink door closes on its own, leaving the two cousins confused as to where they are, "Where in the world are we?" Amelia asks as Mei sees a giant bony arm reaching for the sky.

"Uh… Milly…" Amelia turns to her cousin and sees the same thing she's seeing "...I don't think we're in Kansas anymore." Mei said when the two felt two hands touching their shoulders.

"Ghaaa!" The two girls screamed when they turned around to see Luz and her wife right behind them. The two women looked very intimidating, very different from their appearance from before. The two girls in front of them were terrified, not knowing what to do, Mei hid behind Amelia.

"Well Amity, what do we have here?" Luz asked, never taking her eyes off the girls.

"Seems like we got some trouble mak-" Amity wasn't able to finish her sentence as Luz busted out in laughter "Oh come on, Luz. You really couldn't hold it in, it was supposed to be a hook line sinker, but it didn't get to sink." Amity's face palmed as her wife died of laughter.

After calming down, Luz looked back to the girls in the demeanor she had shown when they first met "Sorry for scaring you, my wife and I thought it would be funny to tease you both a bit. Welcome to the Boiling Isles. I'm sure you're confused right now, just follow us and we'll answer all your questions." Luz and Amity walked past the girls and Amelia and Mei hesitantly obliged.

As they walk through this terrifying yet amazing world, a few people call out to the two women in front.

"Hey Luz! Can you help me look for my palisman?" one person yelled.

"Can't right now, Flip. I've got to help these two." Luz replies, pointing a thumb back to the two girls trailing behind.

"Amity! We need you at the school!" another shouted.

"Would love to make sure the beast doesn't take over the school, however, I've got to watch these three." Amity replies.

Luz, confused, turns to her wife "Three? Hon, we only have two kids with us, who's the third?".

"You." Amity deadpanned.

Amelia was at the moment, kinda scared while Mei was intrigued by her surroundings "This place is kinda weird." Mei admitted.

"Weird? Try terrifying! This feels like something out of a fantasy horror novel!" Amelia whispered yelled, feeling the terror getting to her as she bumped into a blue-haired girl.

"Ow! Hey! Watch where you're going!" The girl said.

"Sorry! I didn't mean to bump into you!" The girl saw Amelia's ears and saw that Luz and Amity were with her.

"Wait. You're a human." Amelia nods "I see…" The girl said with Amelia feeling a dread overtaking her.

"Y-You're not going to eat me, are you?" Amelia asks.

"Why would I eat… someone who could listen to my music?!" The girl begins to strum on her guitar, calming Amelia down just by listening to the pleasant melody.

"Wow…! I've never heard such a pleasant melody before." Amelia said.

"Well, I try to make my music good enough for passers." The girl said as she outstretched her hand out to Amelia "The name's Musa."

Amelia shakes Musa's hand "I'm Amelia."

Mei taps on Amelia's shoulders "C'mon. Luz and Amity want us to head to their place." Mei said.

"Oh, okay. I'll see you around, Musa." Amelia said as she walked off.

The two girls follow Luz and Amity to their home where they see a tube-like creature with an owl's face "Um… what is that thing?" Mei asks.

"Oh. That's Hooty. He's our…" Amity trails off from her sentence, not knowing how to describe Hooty.

"...Our demon security system." Luz said as Hooty turned to them.

"Luz! Amity!" Hooty stretches over to the two women "Oh. And I see you brought guests over! Nice to meet you, hoot hoot! I'm Hooty."

Hooty, being his Hooty self, wrapped the two newcomers in a hug giving them a tight squeeze. Which was a bit too tight.

"Hooty! How many times do I have to tell you not to squeeze the life juice out of our guests." Amity stated as she helped Mei calm down from what was a near-death experience.

"Hooty loves to love, just develop a tougher skin, I don't know what to tell you." Hooty said, showing no signs of remorse. Luz had nothing to say as she helped Amelia. The two wives ushered the kids into the house before Hooty could eat them to show them his "love".

"Welcome to our humble abode." Luz stated as she closed the door.

"It sure is humble, that's for sure." Mei mumbled under her breath. Amelia nudged her with her elbow as a reminder to be nice.

"Would you two like anything to drink? We have water and apple blood.", Amity asked.

"I'll have the apple blood." Mei said, believing that they meant apple juice.

"Wait, is apple blood like apple juice?" Amelia asked.

Luz, with a mischievous grin on her face answers "You can say that I guess."

Amity is aware of her wife's mischievous plan but is too tired to try and stop it. She disappeared into what seemed to be the kitchen and came back with a tray holding three glasses of apple blood. She sat the tray down on the table in front of the couch, Luz took a glass and chugged it. Determining it was safe to drink seeing Luz do so without hesitation, the two girls grab their glasses.

Mei is the first to take a sip, loving the taste she immediately downs the glass. Amelia tries it, and she couldn't be more than out of by the sweet and weirdly sour drink, putting the glass down after her first sip.

"That definitely wasn't apple juice." Amelia says in disgust.

"Yeah, it was better than that." Mei enthusiastically states.

"Glad you like it, it was made no other than yours truly." Luz bows to an unamused crowd.

Amity rolls her eyes and takes a seat at the table, Luz taking her place next to her the girls sitting across from them. The casual calm and peaceful atmosphere suddenly turned tense, the two adults no longer wore their inviting smiles as they looked at the two across from them.

"So why did you follow us?" Luz asks sternly.

"I-I'm really sorry. My cousin saw your wife's ears and she, uh, wanted to touch them." Amelia said, earning her an elbow by Mei.

"So you followed us because of your cousin?" Amity asks.

"U-Um… in my defense, I did try to stop her." Amelia said as Luz began to smile.

"I remembered when I first came to the Boiling Isles almost the same way. I followed an owl through a door and found myself here." Luz said.

The two girls, curious, wanted to know more "What do you mean?" Mei asks. Luz began telling Amelia and Mei about her time on the Boiling Isles. From the first time she met Eda and King to the final battle against Belos.

Mei and Amelia were shocked to learn that they weren't the first humans to enter the Boiling Isles. Before the two girls could ask any questions, two other girls came through the front door "We're back!" The two girls announced as the four turned to them.

One of the girls had dark brown hair and the other had the same color of hair as Luz but they both had Luz's eye color but also had Amity's pointy ears "Hola, Mijas. How was the match today?" Luz asks.

"Buena, Mami." One of the girls said.

Luz then turns back to Amelia and Mei "These are my daughters, Maria and Lucia." Luz said.

"Nice to meet you! Oh and, please, call me Lucy!" Lucy said, but Maria didn't share that same enthusiasm.

"Maria. Don't be rude and introduce yourself." Amity said sternly.

"Fine, my name is Maria." Maria said coldly as she grabbed her bag and headed upstairs to her room.

"Don't mind my sister. It takes a while for her to warm up to new people." Maria said.

"Don't worry we understand. Milly is the same way." Mei said.

"Am not!" Amelia rebutted.

Mei turned to her beloved Milly "Uh, yeah you are." Amelia was clearly being too stubborn to listen "Ok, then introduce yourself."

Believing in herself Amelia tried, however, after looking at Lucia nothing came out of her mouth. Mei laughed and turned her attention back to Lucia.

"Hello, I'm Mei Ling, but call me Mei. My friend here is Amelia. It's nice to meet you." Mei oh so charismatically said.

"OK, Lucy, you and your sister need to go do your homework. Your mom and I will be up there to help when we're done OK." Amity said.

"Yes, Mom." Lucia walked towards her parents and they each gave her a forehead kiss before heading upstairs.

Getting back to business, Amity, and Luz bring their attention back to Mei and Amelia. Of course, the two girls still had a lot of questions and thankfully the two women had the answers. Knowing that Mei and Amelia had nowhere to stay, Amity offered them a place in their home, Mei was more than excited to accept this offer, as for Amelia… not so much.

"What do you mean we have to stay here overnight?!" Amelia was starting to panic.

"If I get back home right now if my mom finds out if I'm not there tomorrow…" Amelia was going on a ramble freaking out about what would happen if her mom finds out she wasn't at home.

"Amelia, it's okay. I have a uh friend who can help with that, your mom will never know." Luz states as gently grabs Ameliea's shoulders.

Luz looks at Amity and Amity nods. Grabbing her phone Amity calls the one person who she knows can handle the weight of the situation "Hey, Vee. I need you to do me a favor."
