A/N: THIS IS A DELETED SCENE FROM BEFORE THE VOLTURI FOUND JASPER

-You do realize I can walk, right?- Alice said, not that she was complaining about her current situation.

-You do realize I don't care, right?- Jasper refuted, fixing his hold on Alice before resuming his walk, she had dragged him into a fight with water earlier.

A fight in the water that ended up with one of Alice's shoes disappearing into the sea, now, while a vampire wouldn't be hurt by walking around barefoot, something he did regularly, she had a home to go back to, he couldn't imagine they would be very happy with her bringing her dirty feet into the house.

I mean, if these Cullens were a family… Jasper got several shouts in the past from his mother for bringing dirt into the house.

He didn't want Alice to be scolded, nor did he want her to go walking around barefoot, what kind of gentleman would he be if he were to let her walk around with a missing shoe?

So, he had offered to give her a piggyback ride, this one after she refused to be carried bridal style through the whole forest.

Alice for her side huffed at Jasper's words, he's gotten quite daring lately too, he responded to her teasing, and he made a point to make his overdramatic at times points clear.

She liked it, meant he was starting to grow comfortable enough to tease and fight back with his own sense of humor.

Plus.

Like she said before, she wasn't complaining about her current state, the fact that he had been so nonchalant and hadn't even thought it twice to offer such a thing, to let her on his back, put himself in such vulnerable position…

It was an exhilarating thought, to know how deep his trust for her ran. Her arms around his neck, her legs around him, she could attack him and he wouldn't be fast enough to stop it.

Not that she would ever hurt him, but it was an interesting insight on how he viewed her, she pressed a kiss on top of his head, his hair was still wet, much like their clothes, I mean, it was raining too, so there was that, at least she had chosen a thicker shirt to prevent the rain from giving her awkward situations, knowing Jasper he would have straight up given her his shirt.

And a shirtless Jasper was not something she would be able to handle, she's seen him shirtless several times, he seemed to have gotten comfortable enough after their talk at the hotel that he no longer hid when changing shirts.

Alice was not ashamed to admit she stared at him whenever that happened, in her defense, he had an amazing body, she had eyes, she couldn't just pretend to be blind.

Plus, it's not like he noticed, or if he did, he didn't mention it.

Point was, he was too much of a gentleman at times, he acted as if she were naked or something, she was wearing two shirts for God's sake, he didn't have to be so shy and awkward.

But again, this was a guy from the 1800's.

And a gentleman.

She could somewhat understand his reasoning.

And she did found his behavior endearing, he was just being respectful, she couldn't complain on that.

As the house came into view she took in a deep breath and straightened her hearing past the rain's pitter patter.

Four people were at home.

No, five.

She couldn't decipher who since the rain made amazing at messing with her sense of smell though.

Alice was quite surprised when Jasper went as far as bringing her to the porch, helping her down, she hadn't expected him to go so far when the Cullen's were at home, but again, he did made an habit of coming to her in the middle of the night, not caring that there's people in the house.

He enters through the window, and he leaves through it too, never facing or speaking to anyone but her, though Renesmee did sneak into the room once, Alice had found them playing DS.

With Renesmee hiding under the bed, as if that could hide her from Alice, not a great feat considering her foot had been poking out from under it.

-Here.- Jasper's voice brought her back to the present, he was holding out a sea dollar for her to take. That one was new, Renesmee had around seven of those, that girl was obsessed with the ocean.

Still, back to the point at hand, she took the sea dollar, inspecting it, she wondered when did he found it.

-Thank you, it's pretty.- Alice conceded, she already had a good idea on what to do with this, just like with most of the seashells and sea glass Jasper gave to her, she liked making little crafts to adorn her room with.

She looked up at Jasper, she almost felt bad at the sight of him, all soaked in the pouring rain, he wasn't human, so of course he wouldn't get sick, but she still felt bad. I mean, he was soaking half of the time she saw him, he liked to hide underwater, but still…

Water also made his scent much more noticeable.

She grabbed his arm, pulling him forward so she could take a whiff, he did smell more like himself than he should.

-You should change clothes and wait until the rain stops.

-That's…- Jasper wasn't quite sure on what to answer to that, he didn't like the idea of stepping into the Cullen's house.

Not when he had no business doing so, most nights he liked sleeping with Alice for her presence brought him lots of comfort.

He wasn't sure what was stopping the Cullens from putting halt to such actions, but he didn't want to test his luck.

-Not a good idea.- He ended up saying, he was regarded with Alice's exasperation and her rolling her eyes at him.

-You know what won't be a good idea? Letting the Volturi catch a whiff of you, that is not a good idea.- Alice told as a statement of fact, pulling him into the house before turning around to snatch some towels from the pile Esme kept on a table near the door for when Emmett comes back soaking or way too filthy to be allowed into the house.

-I can shield my scent usin' other methods, you know?- Even if Jasper said that he didn't refuse the towel that Alice offered him.

-You are not gonna go around soaking in blood, if a human sees you it won't go well.

-For me or for 'em?

-Very funny.- Jasper couldn't bite back the snicker as Alice threw him another towel, his reflexes aiding him into catching it. He dried his hair, patting himself down with the towel so as to get rid of as much water as possible.

Alice did the same, Esme wouldn't be pleased if a trail of water was left all over the floor.

Once that was dealt with she grabbed Jasper's hand, she would replace the towels later, right now she needed to get him to her room without coming across anyone.

She felt like a teenager sneaking her boyfriend into the house, aiming for her parents to not notice, which wasn't quite possible considering that regardless of Jasper's near non-existent footsteps his scent was quite noticeable.

Still.

She was quite glad no one tried to intercept them as she sneaked him upstairs and into her bedroom.

-You should go in first.- Jasper told as Alice closed the door behind her.

-Right…- Alice coughed awkwardly before finding herself some dry clothes, once she did, she locked herself in the bathroom.

Christ, this was much more weird than she first anticipated, she was quite sure that were she human her heart would have been beating fast due the nerve wrecking situation.

There was literally no reason whatsoever to be nervous, what the hell was she nervous for?

Focus.

She needed to calm down before he started asking questions she didn't want to answer.

Thus, she took in a deep breath, calm.

She needed to be calm, find peace, calm…

Christ, she felt like a friggin' 15 year old, why did he always manage to make her nervous without doing a single thing?

"You make me nervous."

"I don't mean to."

That little exchange of words between them in the diner all those decades ago came back to her, a reminder of her vision of them meeting on different circumstances.

A conversation that never happened but did amazing at coming back to her at times.

Still. Deep breaths.

It took her a moment before she was able to get her bearings back together.

After that it was easier to ignore that little voice at the back of her head and get to showering.

Meanwhile, Jasper…

Jasper was wandering around the bedroom, he had been tempted to ask Alice if she was alright, her nerves so intense it had begun making him nervous.

But he had tried to not stick his nose into it, María used to tell him that he shouldn't meddle into other people's business based on their emotions, if he wasn't asked for help or an opinion he should keep out.

"It's called privacy love, learn it, embrace it, abide by it."

Those had been her words.

Thus, he didn't ask, Alice calmed down anyways, so he didn't pay mind to it, just flipping through sketchbooks and admiring the designs.

He also came across a picture frame on the nightstand with several familiar sea glasses and seashells adorning it. The picture in it was of Alice and the Cullens, the females were wearing purple dresses, and the background somewhat reminded him of modern weddings.

She looked pretty in the picture, that shade of purple fit her nicely, her eyes sparkling with joy, her smile so easygoing… he stared at the picture for a bit longer before putting it back.

He kept exploring the room, making a point to not open drawers or wardrobe, just looking at what was on sight, he's never paid actual mind to how Alice's bedroom looked like, there were lots of colors all over, yellow seeming to predominate, she did say yellow was her favorite.

Or well, she loved all the colors, but Jasper's learnt to figure that she had a particular soft spot for yellow.

The sudden sound of paper scrapping caught his attention and he turned in time to see a slip of paper being slipped under the door.

The emotional signature behind the door was unfamiliar, but it wasn't hostile either, all he could feel was expectation, giddiness, hope…

It drove him towards the door, curious on what was going on, he crouched down and picked up the slip of paper.

"Hi :)

Was the message that met him, he frowned, what the hell was this suppose to mean? Who even was it?

Another slip of paper made its apparition once again, and he picked it up.

"Remember the guy glaring at you before? That's me. I'm Emmett."

Jasper wasn't proud about how that last statement almost made him jump back from the door, because the giant was right behind this door, a man that could very much snap him like a twig in seconds, much more so now that he was so weak.

He was quick to get up and put distance between himself and the door, refusing to be so close to someone that could kill him before he could even fight back.

Not that he would be able to fight back, this Emmett was Alice's family, he couldn't bring himself to kill them, she would hate him if he did.

And that was an emotion he never wanted her to regard him with.

Ever.

Because the sole idea of it was enough to send him into a river of knots and lack of breath. He didn't want her to hate him, he didn't want to lose her, if he did, he didn't think he would be able to survive.

He no longer knew how to live in a world without her.

He sat on a corner of the room, curling in on himself and just tuning the world out, if he couldn't hear or feel it wasn't there. The giant that could hurt him and prompt him to hurt him back and get Alice's hatred was not there. He wasn't real. Not there.

He must have spaced out, because next thing he knows there's a hand on his arm, it's so unexpected he flinches back and snaps his teeth at it, missing it for a flashing bit.

The realization of who was the person before him almost made him go sick.

Alice.

-'m sorry.- He manages to rasp out, God, he almost bit her, and she wasn't even mad, not even afraid.

Just confused.

And worried.

For him.

-It's alright.- Alice assured, reaching out to press the back of her hand against Jasper's cheek, it could be her imagination, but he felt warm.- Are you okay?

-Yeah…- Not quite true, he felt funny, but he wasn't in pain, nor was he disoriented or uncomfortable, so it probably was nothing, better not bother her.- I'm fine.- He told, this time more sure of himself.

Alice gave him a doubtful look, but she didn't push.

-Alright then, you should take that bath now, and maybe soak in there for a while, just to be sure.- Jasper made a face at it, but he still nodded.

That's how he found himself a few moments later, sitting in the bathtub and finding it somewhat pleasant, that of the cold water against his skin, vampires shouldn't even be able to feel the temperature.

Might be because of how warm he felt.

The bathroom was drowning in that floral scent that reminded him so much of Alice, it made him feel drowsy, more than he was willing to admit.

But he knew he shouldn't let it get to him, he couldn't fall asleep here, he needed to wash his hair as Alice had instructed him, and he needed to get out at some point, he could sleep later.

Now he needed to focus on not letting the drowsiness win.

End Notes: Thank y'all for the positive feedback given through this whole fic! Honestly never expected this fic would get that much attention XD I'm currently aiming to work on a part 2 but I'm still indecisive about its development and if I should even write it
