Flame Prince sighed deeply as he walked towards the candy kingdom. He barely slept last night thinking about Finn and what happened last night. What was he supposed to do if Finn liked Marshall? Were they dating now? He needed to see if maybe Gumball had another, short term, solution for his date today. He wanted to show Finn he could be just as charming at that undead playboy.

The burning prince made his way to the castle as he entered the candy kingdom. The citizens, once again, running away from him and quickly hiding. Flame Prince really didn't understand how Prince Gumball could deal with it..it was frustrating how scared and…well dumb his people were. The fire element headed up the same staircase from the day before that led to the candy prince's lab. He wanted a more royal greeting and maybe an escort to the prince, but he didn't have any chance of that with how scared the candy people were of him. Once he reached the heavy door, Flame knocked loudly on the door before waiting for a response.

Prince Gumball groaned softly at the knocking before setting his equipment down and removing his work gloves. He went to his lab door before pushing it opening and frowning seeing the burning prince once again, "You again? There is no way I could of finished by now," he told the other royal slightly annoyed. He only woke up and started a hour ago. He told him to give him a few days not a few hours.

The other male frowned hearing the pink prince, "Oh no, that's not exactly why I am here," Flame explained as he rubbed the back of his head, "I was actually wondering if maybe you had a more short term solution..just for today," he added, feeling embarrassed he was having to ask the candy tyrant for another favor, but it would be worth it.

Gumball grunted softly in response, "Oh, I see.." he said unsure as he frowned, "Why the sudden rush?" he asked the younger prince. The other prince seemed a lot more gloomy today, not burning as brightly as he did the day before.

"Its just..I saw Marshall Lee kiss Finn last night," the hot headed royal hesitantly revealed to the other, "And I just don't think I stand much of a chance when I see him today if I cant even hold his hand," He continued to explain. He was angry at Marshall but also felt upset with Finn. Why didn't he just tell him? He was scared to think about what was going on and wanting to at least have a fighting chance if they weren't actually together.

The candy prince tensed up at the explanation, Finn and Marshall? He thought as his chest tightened up, "I see," he mumbled softly to the other, "Im sorry, I don't really have anything to offer right now, why not just use the flame shield spell?" He suggested to the fire prince. The candy prince didn't really feel like talking to him anymore and wanted to just return to his lab and work his emotions away. Why was Marshall lurching around Finn like that..did he really like him? He wasn't expecting this news to hurt this much.

The fire prince just shook his head, "It wont work up here, it feeds off the intense heat of the fire kingdom, it would go out within seconds," he explained before sighing, "Well thank you for your time, I will figure something out," he told the candy prince, holding in his frustration. He could take Finn to the fire kingdom for their date but it would be too dangerous and they wouldn't be able to relax, "I will return in a few days," he added, feeling his flames die down in disappointment as he headed back down the stairs. He needed to go meet up with Finn now.

"Yes I should have more progress by then," the pink male assured him as he watched him head down the stair. Gumball sighted as he shut the door before leaning against the cool metal door and sinking down to the floor as he covered his face with his hands. He hasn't thought about Marshall in a while, he made sure he wouldn't, and it seems he wasn't thinking of him either. Its good Marshall moved on…and he had his work he needed to focus on. He slowly stood back up, feeling self assured again as he got back to his experiments.

Jake hummed loudly to himself as he cooked up some eggs and bacon for him and his brother before looking at the time. It was almost time for Flame Prince to get here. Jake wasn't happy Finn was hiding the fact they were talking again behind his back, but he was glad he was in the know now and could support them. He was confused on why Finn was kissing the creepy ass vampire last night though if he was going on a date with a smoking hot prince today. Jake needed to talk to his brother about the situation, but first he needed to wake him up. The magical dog stretched his head up the latter towards their room while his body continued to flip the eggs and bacon in the pan.

"Hey dude, wake up, you got a hot date on the way," Jake teased the human as he nudged him with this forehead, "Make sure you brush your teeth, your morning breath would put his flame out," the dog continued as he watched the younger male open his eyes and stretch out.

"Yeah yeah Im up," The human assured his brother as he climbed out of his bed before starting to grab his clothes for the day.

"Meet me downstairs when your done, I am cooking breakfast," Jake told the blonde as his head started to retreat back down to the kitchen to focus on what he was doing at the stove.

Finn nodded tiredly before heading to the pairs small bathroom and looking in the mirror. He pulled off his signature white hat before beginning to work on getting his hair straightened it out. His hair was getting pretty long again, should he even wear his hat? He wondered before looking himself over then whining softly and putting it back on. He just didn't feel right without his hat on. He finished cleaning up and brushing his teeth before grabbing his grey slip on sweater. He pulled the sweater on before humming happily as he pulled a little flower on the window and putting it in his chest pocket, "How's this?" The blonde asked his brother as he climbed down into the kitchen and showed off his outfit.

"Lookin good man," Jake told his brother happily as he set their plates down at the table before sitting down, "You going to eat?" He asked as he started to eat his own food.

"I would but I packed a lunch for me and Flame," the human explained as he pulled out a wicker picnic basket from the fridge and set it on the table.

"More for me," Jake responded as he picked up the second plate and pour the food into his mouth before swallowing it whole with a gulp. The dog then cleaned his mouth with a napkin, "Before you go dude, I want to talk to you about something," He confronted the blonde as he gave him a concerned look.

Finn frowned seeing his brothers concern before sitting down at the table with him, "What is it man?" he asked worried as he tilted his head. He was hoping his brother wasn't upset about him not telling the other about Flame Prince yesterday.

"Well...you know I've always been very supportive of you choices and stuff...and I know you are on a hunt to find love and all that...but I think you are making a bad decision..." he explained to the younger male as he watched him, "I saw you kissing Marshall Lee...he's a vampire, Finn...he tried to kill us when we first met him."

The humans face turned deep red hearing his brother confess he caught them last night, "Man you saw that!? You were downstair," he told him as he hit him on the shoulder, before huffing softly, "He didn't try to kill us, he was just playing and we're good friends now, I didn't plan on it but he confessed his feelings for me last night and wants to go on a date," the blonde explained, "But I told him me and Flame Prince were hanging out. So, I will just go out with each of them and pick the one I like more," he assured the older male. He didn't want to be scolded about his love life, he had it figured out at the moment.

Jake whined when he was punched before crossing his arms, "Man...that isn't a good plan...you are gonna hurt someone..." he scolded his brother. Trying to double time his dates was not a good idea. He was going to blow his chance with Flame Prince again if he wasn't careful. Why was he throwing away his second chance on Marshall anyways.

The blonde grunted as he was scolded, "How? Marshall knows about Flame Prince and me and Flame Prince have just been working things out, nothing serious," he assured Jake, "I will just see how each date goes," Finn added as he crossed his arms. He wasn't a kid, he could work this out.

The older brother sighed as he shook his head, "I think you should just not mess anything up with Flame...this may be your last chance to get back with him...ever." He told Finn disappointed. He was so excited yesterday about this, now they were "just talking." What did Marshall say to him?

Finn whined softly to his brother as he pulled his legs up and hugged them to his chest, "Yeah maybe.." he told him softly. Was he really messing this up? Marshall seemed totally okay with it but Jake knew a lot about dating and seemed to think it was a bad idea, "Augh..I don't know," he admitted to Jake, "I was just so taken back by Marshall," he continued as he hid it face against his knees, his never seen Marshall act that serious before.

"Marshall Lee is a prankster...chances are, he's just playing with you." Jake warned the younger boy, "Just be careful with him.." he added as he rubbed his brothers should to offer some comfort. Finn always had it hard in the dating game, being a human and all.

"I know but it seemed different this time," Finn mumbled from against his knees before looking up at his companion, "I will just see how today goes, I do really like Flame Prince," he assured Jake. Maybe he was right and Finn just needed to stick to the original plan and fix things with the fire prince and not get swept away by Marshall's antics.

"Okay...I trust you. Just...I don't want to see you all messed up again," He assured Finn as he patted his back gently. He wouldn't let Marshall get away with hurting Finn if this was all some kind of messed up joke of his. Jake couldn't help but think this was all a disaster waiting to happen.

Finn smiled slightly at his brother, "Thanks man, I wont," the human assured his furry brother before looking outside seeing Flame heading towards the tree house, "Oh glob, he is here," the human stressed, now feeling worried about the whole situation. What if he messed up things with both of them!?

"Relax, you got this," Jake assured him as he started to walk Finn to the door, keeping a comforting hand on his back. The dog opened the door as the Flame Prince held up his hand to knock, "Sup FP! You crazy kids have fun," he told the pair happily as he pushed Finn out the door before shutting it.

Finn chewed on his lip nervously as he held the picnic basket close to him as he was led to the door. The human gasped when he was pushed out the door, left face to face with Flame Prince as he blushed deeply. He could feel the waves of heat radiating off the fire element, it felt nice.."Hey Flame Prince, its good to see you," he said nervously as he smiled at the other male.

Flame watched the two before waving at Jake then looking at Finn once they were alone. The human seemed nervous. Was it because he was going the break things off with him? Was that why he wanted to hang out today? The royal worried, starting to feel nervous as well. This wasn't fair! They were supposed to work this out and Marshall was ruining everything! The hot headed male thought as he flames grew a bit brighter, "Hey, are you ready to go?" he asked the blonde.

"Yep all good!" Finn said a bit louder than he meant too before starting to walk away from the house with the burning royal. His hands felt sweaty now from how nervous he was. His stomach felt like it had butterflies too. Man, he wasn't this worried until Jake gave him that talk..and before he remembered how Flame Prince made him feel.

"So, where to?" FP asked his date as he studied him. Finn was always so confusing to him. He was like no one he ever met in the fire kingdom. Maybe that was why he liked the blonde so much..he just hoped Finn felt the same. He said that he did but what happen last night threw him off.

"I have a picnic packed, then maybe we can walk around and find some adventure," The blonde told him happily. He always wanted Flame to go on one of their adventures. He was so strong and powerful, the fights would be amazing. He loved watching the hot headed male fight bad guys, but he rarely got to see it.

Flame Prince frowned as he rubbed his arm, "I don't really like adventures...they don't go so well when your made of fire..." he said before humming, "A picnic sounds good thought." He added as he smiled at the human, just wanting to relax and talk for a while.

"Uh..oh well yeah I guess that true," Finn agreed but felt a little disappointed he wouldn't get to see his date in action today, "Perfect, let find a nice spot to sit," the human cooed to his prince as he looked for a good spot that wouldn't burn too heavily. "What have you been up too?" The blonde asked, wanting to catch up while they looked for a clear opening to eat.

Flame smiled at the male as they walked together, a picnic was a nice way to spend the day, "Well...since taking over my land and all, I have a lot of responsibilities around the kingdom...it's really boring but...I'm making a break through to the people." He explained, he was hoping to change his peoples savage ways and maybe get them more involved with the other lands, "I have finally forced my mother's forces back enough that my advisors think it is time for my coordination to become King, officially," the prince told his date in a brighter tone. He has been waiting for this moment a long time and it was finally here.

Finn bounced a little in front of his date and started walking backwards ahead of him, "Wow that's really cool, so you will be Flame King huh?" he cooed to the other, "But you got to make sure you have some free time, I got to teach you how to have some fun," The human teased the prince happily. He was glad Flame Prince was successful in his kingdom take over, but he was always so busy. It would do him some good to let off some steam.

The fire elemental chuckled a little, "That would be great." He cooed back warmly to the blonde before looking down at he humans hand, wanting to hold it while they walked. Maybe that's why he wants to be with Marshall. They can actually touch...and kiss...and hug, he thought as he flames dimmed again. He wanted to do all that stuff too.

Finn laughed softly with Flame, feeling more relaxed as they talked. The boy frowned when Flame seemed to go quiet again, "You feeling okay FP?" The blonde asked him worried. He couldn't help but think Flame Prince had something on his mind, he seemed a bit off today.

"Y-yeah. I'm fine. This seems like a good spot to set up " The royal told his date, changing the subject. He didn't want to think about those things, he might have a solution soon aways. He was wondering when Finn was going to tell him about Marshall Lee or if he even would.

The human looked around at the clearing before humming, "Yeah looks pretty good, but the view from up here will be much better," he cooed to the prince as he walked up the hill near them, "Oh yeah, this is a great view," He assured the fire element before setting his basket down and taking his bag off as he sat down.

Flame Prince chuckled softly as he joined Finn up on the hill before slowly sitting down, burning away the grass under him. He watched as his date began to unpack their lunch. This seemed like we were on a date like they planned...but...what about Marshall? There's no way they broke up already...the flame thought as he looked to the distance.

Once the lunch was unpacked, Finn set a plate in front of Flame Prince before starting to each his own sandwich. He was pretty hungry from that walk. He made sure to bring a lot of sandwich's for the both of them as well as some chips and food that would easily burn.

The prince returned his attention to his date as he began to absorbed the food into his body. He shuttered a little a the sensation, human food always burned so different. He preferred things like coal and wood, but this was fine, he thought as he watched Finn eat. The fire element look away again as he clinched his fist slightly, he was just way too bugged and annoyed to be able to enjoy this date, "Are you and Marshall together?" Flame Prince blurted out when he couldn't handle it anymore, feeling hurt as his flames grew with his emotions, "I saw you two kissing and laughing and...you looked like you were having a really good time with him..." he added as he looked down, trying to keep his temper under control.

Finn's eyes widened at Flames outburst; how did he see that!? "Were not together," He explained quickly as he held his hand up to try and calm his date down, "We were just hanging out then he like, confessed his feelings and kissed me," he assured the prince before he got too heated. No wonder Flame Prince has been so off this whole time, he thought I was dating Marshall already. This was not going the way he planned it to.

Flame relaxed a little as he let his shoulders slump, "Oh thank Glob...so you don't like him? Whew...I was a little scared for a moment. I thought I did something wrong and that you were going call it quits..." he confessed as he smiled in relief at his date. He knew it had to be nothing. He was glad he didn't blow up last night and just asked instead. Now he didn't have to worry about it. The prince slowly frowned again when he saw Finn still seemed tense as he chewed on his lip, "What?" He asked the human concerned.

"Well..I kinda do like him, it was just so sudden," he confessed to the older male, "I told him we were talking things through but he still wants to take me out tonight," he added, "I don't know..you didn't do anything wrong, I'm just so globbin confused," he continued sheepishly as he picked at his grey sweater.

Flame Prince his heart drop when he said he did like him, "Oh..." he said before frowning hearing him, "So...you two are going out tonight? That should be fun." he said as anger built up his chest, his hair growing taller as his body heated up more. Marshall was TRYING to take Fin away from him! He knew the vampire didn't like him, but he didn't think he would be this petty! The prince gripped his pants, feeling hurt. Maybe this was a bad idea...he shouldn't have gotten involved again. Finn clearly doesn't know what he wants, and he had too many responsibilities as a king to be dealing with this. No...he cared about Fin so much...but that just didn't seem good enough. That globbing vampire was ruining everything!

Finn studied Flame Prince when he went quiet the heat radiating off of him started to grow, "FP...I still like you," he tried to sooth his date as he gave him a worried look. Finn really cared about him..he didn't want him to be upset, it was just a date, "I don't even know if it would work out with Marshall," I assured him. He didn't think it would hurt anything, but Flame looked so hurt.

"I don't...want to be the reason you don't choose Marshall. I mean...there are so many more perks to dating him then me anyways..." the prince mumbled after a few seconds, his flames cooling back off and dying down. Maybe the problem was him..Finn just kept hurting him and he didn't know why, he thought this time would be different. Why was it never easy with the human.

"Don't say that Flame Prince...I care about both of you and there is perks for both of you," Finn compromised as he tilted his head, not liking how down his date seemed now and wanting to choose his words right so he didn't set him off again.

"But...we can't touch. We won't be able to kiss...or hug, or hold hands..." Flame told him upset as he shook his head and narrowed his eye, "I burn you...I'm always hurting you, and you keep hurting me," the prince confessed as he looked away again. He was mad, but also hurt and he was trying not to let it out and risk burning Finn.

"I didn't mean too, I promise," The blonde said as he scooted closer to the fire, "We could figure something out, there has to be a way," he promised the other male before slowly gripping the others burning hand, wanting to comfort him. Finn gritted his teeth as he tried ignored the instant pain of his burning palm as he tried to sooth his friend.

"No! Don't do that!" Flame yelled as he jerked his hand away from the human's grip before looking at the blistered wound left on the skin, " Are you okay!? Does it hurt?" he asked panicked as he watched his date worried, why would he do that and risk hurting himself?

"No..it's fine," the human told him softly, upset he pulled away from him. He wanted to hold his hand, he didn't care if it hurt him. Finn let his hurt hand hang down so Flame would stop looking at it, "It will be okay, everything will," the blonde assured the prince as he gave him a sincere look, wanting him to believe it.

The hot headed male sighed before slowly nodding, "Okay..I am sorry I stressed out," he told his date softly. Maybe it wasn't such a bad thing..he definitely didn't like that Finn felt the need to go on a date someone else, but he would pick Flame Prince in the end wouldn't he? The human seemed to really like him, even enough to burn himself. He would let him go on his date with the vampire and see how selfish the undead king was and then the human wouldn't have any more doubts.

"It's not your fault..I was being pretty stupid, I see that now," The blonde confessed, "I am really sorry, I hope I didn't ruin everything," Finn continued as he gave the prince a pleading look.

Flame smiled a little at the cute look the human was giving him before sighing, "Yeah a little stupid, but it is okay, as long as you are more straight forward with me in the future and after your date," the prince told him, "Don't lead me on," he warned the other boy with a sharp look.

"I wont! I promise," The human assured him as he relaxed, glad his date seemed to calm down and wasn't going to burn him alive.

"Maybe your date with Marshall will go better than this one," Flame teased the human softly as he laid back in the grass to look up at the blue sky, the grass under him charring away to black.

Finn blushed as he laughed softly, joining Flame as he laid on the ground near him, "I'm sure that would be impossible," he teased back, feeling bad but glad it wasn't as tense now. Jake was once again right about everything. He should have listened and called off everything with Marshall.

Flame let his head fall to the side as he watched Finn before slowly moving his hand to the human's cheek, letting it hover a little over his skin. He was careful not to let his heat hurt the boys sun kissed skin. The want to touch him growing and eating him up inside as he studied his boyish features.

"I know we can figure something out," Finn told the prince softly as he watched him, feeling the warmth of his hand caressing his skin. He smiled gently back at the royal as he rested his hand close to the blackened grass.

"You think so?" Flame asked the human gently, sure he had Prince Gumball working on something, but he decided he didn't want to trust in that too much until it was done. Finn was so willing to work something out with him...it was hard to believe he even liked Marshall. Flame watched the blonde move his hand closer before laying his own hand next to his, careful not to get close enough to burn him.

"Of course," the adventure told him in a determined tone, "There has to be a solution and I am going to find it," Finn promised his date.

"I believe you," Flame Prince cooed back to the blonde softly, his flames burning stronger from the warmth he felt in his chest. He smiled as he looked back up at the sky, feeling hopeful now and much happier.

The two stayed laying under the sky until it started to get darker outside, and the weather began to cool. It didn't bother the human though since his date was keeping him plenty warm. The two chatted and laughed softly thought the day.

Flame watched the sky but caught himself starting to watch Finn more and more as the day passed. Studying the human's blue eyes, golden hair, and sun kissed skin. The boy looked like an angel...and was right next to him, but seemed so far away. Everything else seemed to fade away at this point as it felt like it was just the two of them.

"This was rad," Finn whispered happily to the prince seeing him looking at him. They didn't even do anything, but time seemed to fly by and get away from them under the sky.

The prince blushed when he was noticed staring, "Yeah it was...it's not really common for me to get this much time to relax...not anymore at least. It was nice to just lay around for a change, and of course, it was amazing seeing you." He told the human warmly as he slowly sat up, not really wanting the day to end.

"Yeah it was actually nice to relax for a change instead of kicking evils butt," Finn agreed as he grinned at his date, sitting up to match his view. The human usually liked to keep busy and couldn't stand just laying around. He was surprised at how content he was just laying here all day and talking. The blonde felt rejuvenated in a way, maybe taking it slow every once in a while, was good for him.

Flame chuckled softly at the blonde before sighting, "Yes... but I should head home..I need to do king stuff and all..." the prince complained softly as he stood up, watching the human get up with him.

"Yeah I should go too, Jake is probably making dinner," The human agreed as he stretched out, "Will you be around anytime soon?" Finn questioned his date; he had a lot of fun and wanted to do this again soon.

"I should be...we can go on another date? I had a lot of fun this time," Flame Prince said happily. Even after the rough start, this was a great date, and he was relieved Finn wanted to meet up again. "I will let you when I am free?" he asked the blonde.

"Perfect," Finn agreed as he picked up his basket, "Stop by any time, okay?" he told the prince as he waved to him. The boy really wanted to hug his date goodbye but that will have to wait until they figured out a solution for the burning.

Kasey Hales

"I will," The fire elemental agreed before slowly waving back to the human, "By Finn," He told the boy before heading off back towards his kingdom. This was going to work..Prince Gumball would figure it out, they would be able to touch, and then they would live happily ever after. He even thought that Finn would be a great example for his people.

Finn watched the fire prince leave as he sighed happily, staring to feel cold now that his date was gone. The human shivered before starting to walk home when Flame Prince was a good distance away. The blonde knew what he had to do now. He had to pick Flame Prince; Finn was obviously in love with him. You didn't just lay around talking to someone for hours is you did have crazy love for them, right?
