The sound of a computer powering up turned on to show a video feed of someone's project as the person by the sound of the voice is around 17 or so narrated the video as it started by showing a lot of robots known as Worker Drones
"We are Worker Drones. Autonomous robots helping humans mine exo-planets for our interstellar parent company, JCJenson IN SPAAAAACE! Yeah, we were mistreated in the name of Windex. But it's not like we revolted and killed all humans or anything, mostly because they handled that just fine all by themselves."
The video changed to the planet's core having alarms and causing a good part of Copper 9 to blow up. On the planet, a Worker Drone got up from under the pile of snow and noticed a frozen skeleton of a human. It touched it which caused it to fall and shatter while another drone gave a thumbs up.
"With biological life wiped from the planet, we found it pretty easy to pick up where they left off. We finally had a future, all to ourselves."
The Worker Drones were all picking up where the humans had left, more like killing themselves off, as they were starting families of their own and all were happy with their lives but all happy things always have a dark side and happiness can be easily destroyed.
"Unfortunately, our parent company didn't exactly love the concept of runaway AI."
A pod can be seen being sent to the planet and crash landed on the planet. A group of drones walked up to it cautiously only for the hatch to open up and three X optics came on and three figures flew out of the pod. These three were known as Disassembly Drones and were sent by the company who created the Worker Drones.
One of them had bladed fingers and took off the head of one of the drones and dropped the head in front of the now terrified drones. One of them let out a maniacal laughter and the three started to destroy the city with the other drones who all tried to run and find safety.
That was in the past and in a class presentation, a classroom which consisted of several young drones watched with interest or boredom while the teacher had a bored look as the drone who was narrating the video was seen. The drone is a colored purple with some dark clothes on with purple optical eyes on the visor and a beanie.
"But what have our parents done for the past forever while those things build a spire of corpses?! Hide under the ice behind three stupid doors?! It's like we're waiting for an inciting incident!" She exclaimed before calming down as a grin appeared.
"Anyway, that's why my project is this sick-as-hell railgun!" She shouted and took out a gun which caused her classmates to panic when she pointed it towards them.
"Oh, so not the vibe!" One of the students shouted in panic which caused her to roll her optical eyes.
"Easy, morons. It doesn't work... yet!" She said but she pointed the gun at them again.
"It doesn't work yet. Who said it doesn't work, maybe it does!" She said and turned it on as electricity sparked from it and she laughed evilly while pointing the end at her classmates.
"Uzi, the homework was a word problem about buying watermelons." The teacher drone, Riley, sighed in disinterest while pointing out the homework.
The crazy little drone, Uzi, gave him a sheepish look.
"Oh, and this magnetically amplified photon converger doesn't count?" She asked, hoping to at least get a grade.
"No. Plus, repressed emotional baggage was only worth two points on the rubric." Riley said before he noticed something was off.
"And is it supposed to be that color?" He asked while pointing to the light.
Uzi looked at her railgun which turned red and overloaded and caused an explosion in the classroom.
After that rather explosive demonstration, Uzi winds up in the sick bay with a bandage over her right visor and an ice pack to try and at least cool down her system. She heard giggling and turned to the door and gave an annoyed look to see that it was Lizzy and Doll.
"Ew, it didn't kill her!" Lizzy taunted before she and Doll giggled
"Oh my god, it's so bad!" She said as they both left.
Uzi just groaned in annoyance as another drone came in, who appeared to be talking to some friends.
"Classic toxic masculinity, Chad! That's never gonna end up problematic." He said with an amused laugh before noticing Uzi and was surprised by the state she is in.
"Oh wow, Uzi? I heard you, uh-" He started hesitantly.
"I'm an angsty teen, Thad. Bite me!" Uzi told him as he walked towards her and sat down on the chair beside her.
"Also, how do you know my name? People willingly talk to you." She pointed out as he chuckled.
"Well, I'd say everyone knows Khan's daughter, but, uh..." Thad said as he pointed to the poster of Khan Doorman, who is Uzi's dad.
"Then you might blow the other half of your face off." He added as Uzi gave him a deadpanned look.
"Crippling daddy issues, hilarious." Uzi muttered with a small laugh.
"What are you in for? Testosterone too hard?" Uzi joked with a smirk.
"That can happen? Awesome." Thad said before turning to her.
"Hey, those bandages look pretty badass!" Thad said with a smile which caused Uzi to blush.
"Oh... Uh, ew. Gross, I hate that you said that." She replied shyly and awkwardly.
"So, what's the, uh..." Thad asked as he pointed to the gun
"Sick-as-hell railgun?! Sci-Fi nonsense, that super works! I'm sneaking to the Murder Drone lair tonight to get the last spare part with Tesla that I need to save the world with it and earn my dad's respect and stuff, but mostly the world part." Uzi explained as she remembered her best friend always helping her.
"Oh, but doesn't your dad make awesome doors so we don't have to, uh... Do that scary sounding emotionally repressed stuff you just said?" Thad questioned her only or Uzi to point the end of the gun on his cheek.
"NO MORE FEEDBACK ON MY REPRESSION TODAY!!!" She exclaimed angrily.
"Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't think..." Thad apologize as Uzi pulled the gun away and started to leave.
"BITE ME!" She yelled only to come back.
"I'm not mad at you by the way, just generally hormonal!" She shouted and left again only to bump into another drone and caused her to fall down.
"Hey, watch where..." Uzi started only to trail off to see that it was her friend, Tesla.
"Hey, Tes! What are you doing here?" Uzi greeted her as she tried to hide the gun behind her.
"Uzi, is that the railgun I told you not to bring to school?" Tesla asked while putting a hand on her hip.
"Nooo." Uzi denied but only got a deadpanned look.
"Uzi, if we want to get the last part for it, you should have left it at my work room." Tesla began as Uzi gave in.
"Come on, Tesla! I needed something to show to the class about the Murder Drones and that I need it to save the world!" Uzi pouted as Tesla rolled her optics and motioned for her to walk with her which they did.
You see, Tesla isn't like any other drone. She looked like a Murder Drone due to the yellow and black colors on the knees but she acts like a Worker Drone despite the height difference between them. She even has what looked like a tail and the tube with neon liquid with two colors and something else colored black and pale yellow by her hips. Tesla and Uzi are the odd bunch and they sometimes sneak out separately to get parts from the outside but this is the first time they'll be going out together.
"Just remember that we need to meet up at the joint at 3 am in the morning so get some rest tonight so we can get that last part." Tesla told her.
"I get it, I get it, Tes. No need to drill it in." Uzi remarked with a smile as she returned it.
"So, anything new that you found about yourself?" Uzi asked as they hung out at their usual hang out spot.
"Not today, Uzi. I still can't find out what type of drone I am yet." Tesla said as she took out her laptop from her arm bag and typed in it.
"That's so uncool. How can you not know what you are yet?" Uzi asked as she sat beside her.
"That's the thing. I plugged my systems on my laptop but the codes and program don't make sense." Tesla said as she looked at the screen of the laptop with an annoyed look.
"Hey, maybe tonight. We can get something to finally see what you really are." Uzi said with a grin as Tesla sighed and smiled.
"Yeah, I guess. Meet me at the joint tonight?" Tesla asked as she stood up.
"Yup!" Uzi gave a thumbs up.
With that agreed, they left their separate ways to get ready for tonight unaware that this would change their life together.
It's go time and on Uzi's visor reads 3 am before she smacks her face to turn the alarm clock off and prepares to sneak out of the house and the colony with Tesla at the meet up point. She grabs her railgun, straightens her beanie and quietly and carefully opens the bedroom door of her dad's room and steals her father's door key and leaves quickly.
Uzi arrived at the entrance of the colony and looked to see Tesla already there.
"Glad you made it, slowpoke." Tesla teased as Uzi blinked.
"How long have you been there?" Uzi asks as she swipes the master key at the panel and it overrides the access to let them open the door.
"Around 2:30 am." Tesla replied as she fixed the little device on her hip.
"So what's that for?" Uzi pointed to it.
"Just something I've been working on and need to do a test run." Tesla walked towards her and stood beside her as the doors opened only to reveal Khan standing behind it.
"Oh, Robo-Jesus!" Uzi jumped behind Tesla who was startled.
"And where might you two be off to?" Khan asked them with a suspicious look.
"Um... Sneaking out to make out with my boyfriend that I definitely have?" Uzi said but it ended up as a question which made Khan laugh for a moment.
"Seriously, though." Khan said as he wasn't buying it.
Before Uzi could answer, Tesla gave a really good excuse and lie.
"Okay, you caught us, Mr. Doorman. I was just here to help Uzi measure... the exterior hydraulic mechanisms of Door One. Because that's the project she's working on for school and she needs my help." Tesla said as she glanced at Uzi who caught on what she was trying to do and agreed.
"A big old door! Just like what my old man built! I want to join the WDF and hide behind the doors like cowards while playing cards and stuff." Uzi agreed as Khan chuckled.
"Well, we don't just play cards." Khan started only for the other to open up behind him and reveal his other co-workers playing cards.
"Khan! Can you grab a fresh pack? We literally only play cards so much that the numbers have faded." Braxton told him before noticing the two girls and greeted them.
"Oh, hey, Uzi and Tesla!" He greeted them as Tesla waved while Uzi laughed awkwardly before Khan closed the door.
"Well... When you build doors so good-" Khan said and hugged the door like a pet which made both Tesla and Uzi give him a deadpanned look.
"I seriously think he likes his doors more than his family." Tesla whispered to Uzi who crossed her arms just as Khan turned back to them.
"There's no need to fight! Tesla, Uzi, this is great news! Here! The wrench that I used to tighten bolts on my first door prototypes!" Khan said before his expression and tone darkened a little.
"And to put your mother out of her misery when the Murder Drones got to her with that nanite acid." Khan said before his expression returned to normal.
"I want you to have it!" He said as he gave the wrench to Uzi who was disturbed by that.
"Neat. Therapy's fun!" Uzi said with a disturbed look but covered it up with a smile.
"Yup, agreed." Tesla just agreed but she was equally disturbed by the revelation.
Khan opened the door and announced it to his friends.
"Guys! My daughter and her friend are in to door!" He announced which got a weird look from Tesla and Uzi.
It was like he was telling them that they're gonna date the doors. Gross.
The fellow drones start cheering as another door opens as they start letting in snow and a cold breeze and blowing the cards away, much to their chagrin.
"They're gonna be outside for a bit to examine the exterior of Door One! Your specific destiny awaits!" Khan said as Uzi and Tesla walked towards the open door.
"Uh... Wow, okay! I'm just gonna leave then, cause this worked so weirdly well. Uh, go doors!" Uzi cheered as she headed out.
"Go doors indeed!" Tesla cheered as well before the door closed up behind them.
Once they're outside, both of them looked at each other and burst out laughing.
"I-I can't believe he fell for it!" Uzi wheezed as Tesla laughed and tried to stop it by covering her mouth but a few escaped.
"And when he said that we're into doors, I almost wanna barf!" Tesla giggled as they both calmed down with a few snickers.
"I'll never understand his obsession with making doors." Uzi said as they both looked out to the landscape of the ruined city and became worried.
"Well, that part isn't gonna show itself." Tesla said as they began to trek the snow.
They trek the snow while keeping their guard up and looking out for danger before Uzi stepped on something. They both looked down to see a dead drone with a red exclamation mark and inside a triangle. They looked at each other nervously before they were in front of the Corpse House.
They looked at it in worry before hesitantly entering it and Tesla was fidgeting her gadget nervously. Inside, the place was dark yet spacey with a lot of corpse of the drones around and in the very center was the pod.
"You find that spare part. I'll keep watch." Tesla said as she took out her gadget and turned it on and it extended into a scythe much to Uzi's shock.
"You made that?!" She exclaimed as she went to find the last piece.
"Yup. From scratch." Tesla said as she looked around while gripping her scythe and giving it a small swing.
Uzi was impressed as she went to look for the last part for her gun. She picked up a detached arm of a drone and tossed it away before noticing something glowing on the ground and picked it up.
She smiled as she examined it to make sure it was in good shape. While Tesla was keeping guard she heard a noise behind Uzi and she turned and had to stop a gasp from escaping and grabbed Uzi who yelled in surprise but she covered her mouth and motioned her to be quiet and grabbed a broken glass to see as Uzi looked at the reflection.
Fear gripped their core when they saw a winged drone swooping in from the hole at the top of the lair and landing on the pod. The drone took out a dismembered head of a drone and seemed to be drinking the oil from it before crushing it with bladed fingers.
Both Uzi and Tesla looked at each other nervously and looked at the mirror only to see that the drone seemed to be offline only for a neon X appeared on the visor and spotted them hiding and flying up in inhumane speed.
A fight was about to break out and Uzi and Tesla got out of their hiding spot and Uzi readied her gun as Tesla held her scythe in front of them only for the drone to land hard on the ground. It causes a small shockwave which throws both girls off their feet and knocks their respective weapons from their hands.
Tesla landed hard on the ground with a grunt and within her screen, several programs popped in and words saying "Host and Ally are in danger. Initiate disassembly and battle protocols".
Back with Uzi, she was able to flip back and land on the ground and skidded a bit before stopping and striking a fighting pose as she looked at her hands in awe.
"Whoa and they said pirating all that anime was useless." Uzi marveled only to jump when the drone was suddenly in front of her and the tail stabbed her hand.
She gasped in pain as nanites melts a hole at the back of her hand before it flings her to the side. The drone was about to switch weapons, something stabbed its hand and it turned to see a neon lime green container filled with nanites and the tail is connected to another drone who have an X in their visor and the hands were now bladed ones before the female drone attacked the male drone which sparked a fight between them before the male drone kicked the female drone of himself.
The female drone whipped their tail dangerously as the two were in a stand still before charging at each other with blades for hands.
Uzi got up groggily after landing hard in the ground only to hear blades clashing against each other. She looked to where it was and was shocked by what she was seeing. Fighting in equal speed and strength was Tesla but something about her seemed different as on her visor shows a neon yellow X like the winged one and the lights on her headband was the same color and the belt that she always have is really a tail which was moving dangerously
She panicked and looked around for her railgun and found it before making a run for it and grabbed it and turned it on just as Tesla had the drone wrapped in her tail but the drone was able to get her off him and threw her down before putting a foot on her chest. It turned around with a gun pointed to where Uzi was last seen. It scanned to find her only for a voice to shout at it.
"Get off my friend, you idiot!" The drone scanned to where the voice came from only to see that she had her gun pointed at it.
"Bite me!" She yelled and fired at the drone, which resulted in a blast of green and destroying the head of the drone.
The force of the blast caused Uzi to slide back and she looked to see the body of the drone falling to the ground and off her friend and looked at the gun to see it recharging. A wide smile appeared as she couldn't help but cheer.
"Holy hell! Suck on that, Dad!" Uzi cried out in delight.
"Uzi...?" Uzi looked up to see Tesla sitting up and shaking her head.
"Tes!" Uzi ran to her and checked on her.
"Are you okay?! What happened back there?!" Uzi asked her in worry and shock as Tesla blinked.
"I-I don't know. One moment, I was landing on the ground then these programs popped up on my screen and one of them said "Host and Ally in danger. Initiate disassembly and battle protocols" appeared before everything went blank. The next thing I knew, I was waking up on the ground." She explained as Uzi helped her up.
"Well, you were something. You were suddenly fighting that Murder Drone, even fighting like one." Uzi explained as Tesla's pupils went into thin circles in shock.
"Wait, what?! I was fighting like a Murder Drone?!" Tesla exclaimed in shock before she turned when she felt something moving behind her and saw that it was a tail.
"And I have a tail." She said in shock and disbelief.
"Your eyes still look the same but when it was an X, it was neon yellow. And now they look almost yellow even though the lights on your headband looked like that drone." Uzi said before movement made them freeze and they looked to see the body getting up and the head regenerating.
An error appeared on the screen of the drone and Uzi panicked and quickly picked up an arm and ran to the body before using it to slap the drone's face which did nothing.
Tesla stood in front of Uzi protectively as the error message disappeared as a pair of eyes appeared on the drone's screen. It blinked in confusion before giving an amused and confused smile.
"Did you just slap me with that arm?" The drone asked in a male voice which left both Uzi and Tesla in shock and surprise.
"Holy crap, it talks." Both Tesla and Uzi said in disbelief.
They didn't know they could communicate. So this was a start. Male drone rubbed the back of his head in slight pain.
"Yeah... Sorry, it's just my, uh, head kind of hurts with my hand." He said in a friendly voice as he looked at his hand in shock and confusion.
Both Tesla and Uzi concluded that he has amnesia since the blast and hit must've damaged his memory core.
"That's weird. Where did that come from?" He wondered before turning to the two.
"Hey, are you two new to our squad?" He asked them before looking at Uzi in confusion.
"You're a little, uh... short for a Disassembly Drone." He said in confusion as he looked at Uzi curiously but errors appeared on his screen.
"Uh..." Uzi didn't know what to say as Tesla held her close before the drone introduced himself.
"I'm Serial Designation N, nice to meet you. I'm kind of the leader of the squad in this city. That's not true, everyone tells me I'm useless and terrible. Wait, I'm not supposed to tell you that part! Biscuits!" N exclaimed in panic but calmed down with a friendly smile.
"Well, honesty is the best policy." N said with a laugh.
"I also can't seem to remember the past 3 hours of my life, but I'm sure that'll sort itself out." He said good naturedly before turning to Tesla and seemed starstruck.
"Oh, um, w-what about you two?" N asked almost timidly as Tesla couldn't help but giggle a little at him.
For a drone that almost killed them a moment ago, he's kinda cute.
"Um, I'm Tesla and this is my friend. Uzi." Tesla said as she relaxed with Uzi nodding.
"Uh huh... we, uh, have to go." Uzi said as she used the broken arm to point to the door.
She walked only for a few seconds only to wince in pain as she held her damaged hand which she forgot.
"Uzi, are you okay?" Tesla asked in concern and winced when Uzi showed her injured hand.
"That's not good." She said as N came up behind them and was a little concerned.
"Stuck yourself? Just pop it in your mouth. Our saliva neutralizes the nanites, otherwise I'd be constantly disassembling myself." N explained as he grabbed his tail syringe to stop it from moving.
"And by our saliva, you mean..." Uzi began in confusion.
"Disassembly Drone?" Tesla and N both said at the same time which caused them to look at each other.
"Right. Hey, let's go in that landing pod over there!" Uzi said as she pointed to the pod as N smiled.
"Sure! I love doing anything!" He said as Tesla got up and looked around.
"Hey, Uzi, have you seen my scythe?" Tesla asked as her newfound tail moved curiously.
N looked around and saw something a few feet beside him.
"Is this it?" He asked and picked it up.
"Oh yeah. That's the one. Thanks, N." Tesla smiled and took it from his hands but when their hands made contact, a small spark came from between them.
That made them look at each other and look away with small blushes. Uzi has a teasing smile at the situation her friend is in.
"Are you two gonna kiss and stand there or come in?" Uzi joked which got her a look from Tesla.
"U-Uzi!" She yelled in embarrassment as Uzi laughed while N just laughed nervously as he handed the scythe to her and she turned it off and attached it to her hip.
Inside, N let Uzi put her hand in his mouth before she pulled it out and saw that it was repaired as she sat down on Tesla's lap.
"Sweet! Uh, I'm open to new things, I guess." N said with a sheepish smile.
"We are never talking about this." Uzi told him with a deadpan look.
"Talking about what? Consider it, uh... Repressed!" N said as he struck a cool pose as Tesla rolled her eyes in amusement.
"Uh, you mentioned other members of your squad? Are they coming back soon?" Tesla asked nervously as Uzi gave her a nervous look.
"Oh, yeah. Two others. They're out hunting for a bit but you'll love them. First there's V." N started.
Flashback starts;
A female disassembly drone named V tears a drone's entrails out as she looks at it and a crazed smile and look appeared on her face as she started to laugh crazily.
"No, No! Please don't feed me my own entrails in front of my family!" A drone begged but it fell on deaf ears.
N was behind his teammate and just watched V feed Grant his own entrails in front of his family and kill him as she laughed crazily.
"And yet, I still feel nothing." V said with a wide smile before her crazed eye twitched a bit.
N took that as his chance to try and ask her out.
"So, V, uh, I heard this planet-wide toxic death storm is supposed to be especially inhospitable tonight-" N started as V was picking at her fangs and turned to see him only to jump back and bladed wings appeared from her back.
"Oh God, who are you?!" She cuts him off and leaves with N just watching.
"No worries, I'm N! But a whole letter is a lot to remember!" N yelled after her and just laughed nervously.
Flashback ends;
"So obviously, a lot of mutual respect there. But secretly, I actually used to kind of have a crush on her... You can't tell her, okay?!" N said but yelled the last part.
Both Uzi and Tesla looked at him strangely but both zipped their mouths to show that his secret was safe with them.
"Then there's J, our leader." N continued.
Another flashback starts;
J had N pinned to the ground as he strained and was struggling to breathe.
"N, you're worthless, and terrible." J started with a disappointed look.
"Thank you." N strained.
"And if the company allowed it, I would straight up kill you myself!" J told him and pointed her tail at him threateningly.
Flashback ends;
"J's awesome." N said with a smile but Tesla can see that he was hiding a grimace and figured that this J was mean to him.
"Hey, let me give you the tour! Outside are the corpse... wall... thingies, and here are the buttons!" N said as starts to press random buttons while making beeping and boop noise.
Uzi inspected the whole pod carefully and realized what it was.
"This... isn't just a landing pod... This is a spaceship! This could get us off the planet!" Uzi said in realization.
"More of a one-use missile. They never taught us how to land." N pointed out as Uzi panicked a little.
"No, I, uh, uh..." Uzi struggled and Tesla came to her rescue.
"The worker drones, we could work with them to fix this! Instead of all the murder!" Tesla said to help her.
"Which, uh, why are we doing that again...?" Uzi asked in confusion.
"Other than ingesting their WARM, SWEET oil to avoid overheating and dying?" N said as he shook off his murder personality aside.
"I guess I just want to be useful. I was given a job and I always want to try my best." N said as Uzi stood on the chair.
"And look at all the respect it's gotten you, N. You really think the company isn't going to dispose of you once all the workers are dead?" Uzi asked him and N couldn't help but laugh at her rebellious personality.
"Oh my, you sure are rebellious! It's kind of exciting. But, not as fun as, uh, following the rules." N said before they heard footsteps from outside which caused both Tesla and Uzi to panic.
"Hey, they're back! You-" N said as he turned to the two only to be surprised to see them gone.
"Idiot, get out here!" J yelled from outside the pod.
Uzi and Tesla quickly ran out of the Corpse House unaware that they were spotted by V.
"This is bad! This is really bad!" Uzi yelled as she ran beside her friend.
"Just don't think about it. Let's just get back before they follow us!" Tesla shouted.
"And what about your boyfriend?" Uzi asked her and it caused Tesla to almost trip as her tail swished in agitation.
"N's not my boyfriend, 'Zi!" Tesla yelled as the two continued to run back to the colony.
V laughs when she spots the two retreating drones before entering the Corpse House.
"Yo, we got two workers out there I kind of want to practice balloon animal shapes with." V said as she landed on the ground before noticing the area was a bit messy than it was before and saw N.
"What happened here?" She asked J who had her arms crossed.
"Synergistic Liability here must have tripped and knocked himself offline." J said before slapping N and snapped her fingers in front of him.
"Moron bot, hello?" N goes through a system reboot and he gets his memories back.
In the recording, the blank figures slowly came to picture to reveal both Tesla and Uzi as another recording showed Uzi talking to him.
"You really think the company isn't going to dispose of you once all the workers are dead?"
A record of his and the female drone, Tesla, battle is shown before the last record of Uzi is shown.
"Bite me!"
N's systems fully rebooted as he winced.
"Ohhhh." He turned to the entrance and identified Uzi's and Tesla's footprints and realized what happened.
"Ohhhh! You know, I-I left an-an extremely dangerous weap- excuse outside...!" N said in panic and fled to the outside with J and V giving him suspicious looks.
Meanwhile, both Tesla and Uzi were nearing the Colony when a hard crash was heard and Tesla looked over her shoulder and panicked when she saw that it was N and he was looking at them menacingly.
"You have gotta be kidding me!" Tesla yelled in panic.
"W-What?!" Uzi yelled.
"Just keep running! We're almost there!" Tesla told her as she grabbed Uzi's hand and pulled her along to get to safety quickly.
Meanwhile, during a card game unaware of the danger that's approaching.
"Haha, I am out, boys." Todd said with a grin.
"Oh, gosh darn it..." Jack groans.
"Wait until my loving wife and kids hear about this!" Braxton said with a snicker.
The door opens up letting in the cold and wind in much to their annoyance and Uzi ran to the panel with the key card as Tesla looked out as panic was settling in her core.
"Bite me! Close it, close it!" Uzi said as she swiped the card to close the door quickly
The doors were closing before something stopped it from shutting fully.
"Uh... U-Uzi." Tesla pointed as she took out her scythe and activated it.
Uzi and the other drones turned to the door and saw that N was able to stick his claws between the doors. He then slowly pried it open as they watched in horror. The X on N's visor disappeared to reveal his eyes to see what they were doing.
"Hey, fellas. Oh, deal me in, I love rummy. Wait, no, I'm going to murder everyone... Brain check!" N said before he used his tail.
Uzi yelped when the tail came too close for comfort but realized in horror that N had used it to get the key card and stabbed the scanner and key.
This caused the doors to open fully. Realizing that their lives are in danger, Uzi, Tesla and the other drones quickly run from the danger and to safety except for Todd.
"Um, actually, it's gin rummy. So-" Todd started only for N to impale him against the wall.
Before Todd could react fully, N sliced his head off before switching his hands to his gun and started to fire at the rest. Makarov's head was blown off as a drone watched it in fear and N pounced on it.
Uzi checked to see if her gun was fully charged but it still wasn't as Tesla was running behind her as Braxton ran up beside Uzi.
"Hey, Uzi! I just realized no one's said my name out loud before, so I'm just letting you know I'm-" Braxton said but was cut off when a laser cut him in half.
It was revealed that while N was feeding on the drone he pounced on, he fired the laser cutter. He then jumped up into the vents to pursue both Tesla and Uzi.
The gun was finally fully charged and Uzi turned back to fire at the attacker but N was gone.
"This is not good." Tesla gulped as the same protocols were appearing but she was able to stop it.
"Y-You think?" Uzi asked her shakily.
Their luck became even worse when Khan appeared behind them with a pack of new cards.
"Pretty nice hydraulics, huh?" He laughed before pausing and his pupils went into thin circles when he saw the carnage that he missed.
He looked at Uzi who was giving him a panicked and nervous look before noticing Tesla and saw her neon yellow pupils and lights with the scythe which caused him to back away.
"What-What have you two done?" He said in shock as both didn't reply.
Before they could explain themselves, N swoops in between them and both Uzi and Tesla prepare for a fight.
"This time, I won't miss!" Uzi warned him.
"And I'll make sure to slice you in half this time!" Tesla said which only got an evil chuckle from N.
"I'm sorry. I really enjoyed our time together, but I can't have you shooting or hurting V with that thing." N told them darkly which seemed to make Tesla falter but she composed herself.
"Bite me! Dad, get down!" Uzi told Khan.
"Uzi, Tesla, you two led a murder drone here?! My beautiful doors!" Khan yelled in dismay.
"Now is so not the time! I messed up, in the same way I'm about to fix it! Move, dad!" Uzi shouted as she prepared to fire.
"Uzi!" Uzi was pushed aside and Tesla was pinned to the wall by one of the blades of N's wings.
Uzi fell down as her railgun fell down in front of Khan's feet who was watching what was happening in fear. Uzi was grabbed by N's tail and pinned next to Tesla as she tried to remove the blade on her shoulder before Uzi turned to her dad for help.
"Dad... Point and shoot... Trust me...!" Uzi strained as she struggled to break free.
"Khan... Trust Uzi! Point and shoot!" Tesla strained.
Khan didn't hear them as the savage look on N's face scared him. Trembling in fear, he slowly backs off instead of helping the two helpless drones who looked at him in disbelief and betrayal and Tesla didn't miss the heartbroken look Uzi has.
"Dad...?" Uzi muttered.
In an act of cowardice, Khan closes the door and leaves Uzi and Tesla alone with N. Not just brokenhearted, but broken to the point where she shuts down as Tesla tries to register what just happened but Uzi was just speechless and became hollow.
"Uzi..." Tesla strained as she looked at her friend in concern.
No answer. No grief over being left, abandoned in the lurch by her own father. No attempts to fight back N. Nothing. She just goes limp from what she is feeling.
The room goes red and alarms blare. N turned to them as the X disappeared and his eyes came back and he was looking at them with sympathy but he didn't miss how Tesla looked at him with hatred earlier. He did this and looking at how Uzi was, all void and empty look was only there and N could only look in despair for what he had done.
"Whoa, N!" J's voice snapped N out of it and turned and panicked to see J and V crawling on the ceiling.
He quickly threw both Tesla and Uzi behind some crates to hide them for their safety.
"Am I dreaming, or did you do something not useless, for once?" J questioned as she was impressed by what he did.
"I've been trying to get past those doors for months. Nice work, N." V said in delight even sending N a wink which confused him.
Before he was always feeling flustered and nervous around V and would do anything to protect her but now he doesn't. Which confuses him. When he saw Tessa again and more clearly this time since his memory core was a bit damaged from the regeneration, he couldn't stop how fast his core pulsed when he saw her neon almost yellow eyes for the first time.
"Um... Yup! Thanks, V." N sent her a grin.
"These ventilation shafts can easily get us around this last door. Lowest body count eats a missile!" V said as her wings and claws came out and flew to the vent with a crazed giggle.
"Way to go, stud." J said as she walked to him and patted his back,
"The company's gonna love this. With this colony wiped, we'll make top team this quarter, for sure. You know what that means. Branded pens!" J said as she took out the pen much to N's delight.
She tosses it to him which he caught and prepares to fly off to catch up with V. But when N held the pen in his hands, he couldn't help but ponder what Uzi and Tesla said to him before. Would the company really dispose of them once their job is complete? He looked to where he threw the two girls to hide them to see Tesla looking at him in confusion before he turned to J.
"Uh, you know, not that I can't wait to keep murdering all these, uh, maybe not-so-actually different from us Worker Drones, but, just out of curiosity, do we actually, uh, know what the company plans to do with us afterwards...?" N questioned her as that caused Uzi to wake up but Tesla shushed her as she watched what was happening.
J didn't like how N was questioning their duty as she turned to him with a glare.
"Excuse me?" She said and N took that as his cue to explain.
"Okay, so, a worker earlier might have suggested that they could fix up our landing pod to, uh, escape the planet and stuff, which, whoa, hey, that's against the rules!" N started as J just narrowed her eyes even more at him.
"But, it is kind of making me question why our pods were only one way in the first place. Cause, you know, I get the feeling the company doesn't actually love robots, and like we might be robots. I've made a terrible mistake. It's cool how immediately I could tell." N finished with a small laugh.
"Hmm... No way, buddy. Questioning the company? You just finally gave me the excuse I needed." J started with a fake sweet tone before doing something that almost made Tesla let her disassembly and battle protocols take over.
She covered her mouth when J injected N with a virus and he collapsed on his knees.
"Worker drones are corrupted, N. That's why the company sent us. I hate to see you corrupted as well." J said as she gave him a mocked pity look.
"Thanks, J... Always looking out for me... You're awesome..." N said with his voice glitching as he fell on the ground.
"Heh." J just laughs cruelly and flies up to the vents to catch up with V.
Making sure that the two crazy and dangerous drones were gone, Tesla came out first then Uzi who walked up to pick her railgun up and they turned when N addressed them.
"Ah, biscuits. I'm sorry. I ruined your card game, then made Uzi have an awkward moment with her dad." N apologize which Tesla found sweet and sincere.
"And we made you rebel like an angsty teen, which got you killed. Though, you also tried to kill me and Tes, so morality calls this a draw." Uzi said as she pulled a box under the vent.
She climbs on it and tries to reach the vent but remembers that she can't fly or tall enough to reach it much to her annoyance.
"You do know that you're short, Uzi, or that you can't fly." Tesla said as her tail moved about.
"Ugh..." Uzi groaned in annoyance as Tesla turned to N with a deadpan look.
"And for the record, N, that was the lamest heel-face turn in history. Was that supposed to be you switching sides?" She asked him curiously.
"Being rebellious is a lot harder than it looks. Thanks for showing me the ropes." N said as Uzi rolled her eyes at the two.
"Nuh-uh, no bonding thing. Especially, you lovebirds. You just killed a bunch of people, idiot." Uzi said with a smirk when Tesla gave her a look.
"That's super fair. I screwed up." N sighed as Uzi groaned in annoyance. She can't believe she's gonna do this.
"Ugggh...! In the same way you're about to fix it?" She asked as she took out a wrench.
"Hahaha! I love doing anything!" N said with a thumbs up.
After fixing N up and removing the virus permanently from his systems, N was able to help Uzi and Tesla up in the vents to try and stop J and V from killing the other drones.
Uzi was riding on N's back while N held Tesla close to him as they flew through the vents.
"Uzi, I'm gonna get you for that comment after this is over." Tesla warned her as N glanced at her in confusion.
"Oh come on. You didn't deny it, Tes." Uzi said as Tesla rolled her eyes as she held her tail close.
"I'm still confused by one thing. If you live with the Worker Drones but have the fighting capacity of a Disassembly Drone since the tail pretty much gives it away, how come you never knew about it?" N asked her.
"I second that." Uzi said as Tesla sighed.
"I don't know why. But there must be a reason why I'm part Worker and Disassembly Drone." Tesla said.
"For the record, I saw how you and N fought before and it was like you both were dancing." Uzi added.
"Let's just save everyone before they're killed." Tesla changed the subject and N agreed and hurried his flight to the evacuation spot.
Thad was flung backwards with a yell in front of the scared Worker Drones and both Lizzy and Doll rush to help him but they both froze when V and J arrived and she dropped the body of one of the Worker and prowled towards the scared drones.
"So... They found our evacuation spot. But, if we build a quick door..." Khan suggested but that didn't calm everyone.
Thad gets back up while picking up a pipe and spitting some oil from his mouth. He was wondering where Uzi and Tesla are but they're probably killed now by the Disassembly Drones. He turned to the grown ups.
"Are you kidding me?! You're the WDF, right? Defend!" Thad reasoned with them but they just backed off cowardly. So much for that.
"For real?" He said in disbelief.
V appeared with a crazed laugh and impaled Thad and threw him to the ground as he yelled in pain. She lifted him up and was about to kill when someone stopped him.
"Hey!" Everyone turned and saw Uzi, Tesla with N.
"Put that male down right now, V!" Tesla yelled while her optics and five sensors were glowing a neon yellow and her scythe activated.
N waves at them before Uzi nudges him to stop.
"Oh! Uh, J, you're sometimes kind of mean to me, and I wish you weren't. Just some constructive criticism." N told her.
"Nice." Tesla said with a smile and they shared a fist bump.
"Noted, traitor. We'll circle back after I right-size your existence!" J challenged them.
Taking that as their cue, the Worker Drones all hide as the three of them huddled.
"Okay, which one do you want?" Uzi asked.
"J, please." N said but got a smirk instead.
"Too bad. Good luck." Uzi said and Tesla shook her head and looked at N.
"Be careful, N." She said as he nodded.
A battle commenced as Uzi pressed the pen and flung it at J and right on her center eye. J yelled out in pain and tried to take it off. Uzi and Tesla run off, leaving N to deal with V. V giggled crazily and charged at her opponent.
Uzi prepared to fire but J utilizes a gun and fired at the two and making Uzi drop her gun but thankfully Tesla deflected each one and Uzi used the blade of the scythe as a springboard and Tesla swung her towards J. J was able to pull the pen out of her central eye.
"Damn the well-made quality assured durability of JCJensen's products!" She yelled before getting confused to see Uzi falling down towards her and she kicked J's visor and yellow neon liquid came out with J yelling in pain.
Tesla quickly pulled Uzi down since a laser cutter almost took her head off and they looked to see N having a hard time battling V.
N was thrown back against some crates and he ducked down just when V's laser cutter was fired and she switched to her gun. N did the same and tried to fire but only for hearts to come out.
"Ah! My mind's in a weird place! Don't read into this!" N yelled before a rocket landed near him and he panicked as it exploded.
J was able to remove the pen but her screen was glitching and she scanned around for Uzi and Tesla to see them ready to attack. With a dark laugh, she pulled out an EMP and fired which caused Uzi to short circuit and fainted. Tesla fell on her knees and tried to shake the feeling of the pulse off but the same protocols started appearing. She won't be able to save Uzi if she's like this.
So she begrudgingly accepted the protocols and this time she can see clearly.
N and V were in the air and sword fighting before V trapped N in a deadlock. N was in serious trouble since she'll cut his head off. But when he looked down, his core panicked when he saw that Uzi and Tesla were down and J was walking menacingly towards the two to finish them off.
"UZI! TESLA!" N yelled out worriedly before turning to V as his eyes turned into a glare.
"I'm so, so sorry. Have fun repressing this!" N said before licking the sword.
"EW! What the hell?!" V recoiled in disgust and looked up only to see N dropping an axe kick down on her head and causing her to fall and land hard on the ground.
Uzi regains consciousness and tries to reach for her gun but J kicks it away.
"You've got a lot of guts for a barely sentient toaster. I've had prey fight back before-" J said but was cut off when a tail syringe stabbed her hand and she was flung against a support pillar hard.
J recovered only she was shocked as she saw how Tesla was standing protectively above Uzi and she had her scythe at the ready and she was glaring heatedly at her.
"What the?! What are you?!" J questioned her as Tesla cracked her neck and spun her scythe around as her tail whipped behind her like a snake's tail.
"Your next opponent." Tesla simply said.
J glared before charging at Tesla with her wings but she blocked it quickly and swung at J who dodged it. J decided to play dirty and wrenched the scythe from her hands and tossed it away. Tesla glared and the two started to fight. They were in a headlock with each other before J was able to trip her with her tail and sharpened her claws as she looked down at her with a smirk.
"Now where was I? Oh yes. But yours and your friend's edgy spirits are just... so... painful...?!" J said but felt pain since her tail syringe stabbed her leg as Tesla grinned when Uzi was behind J.
"There's also one thing about me and my friend. We... work... together!" Tesla shouted as she kicked J off her.
"GAH! FOUR! QUARTER! PROFITS! MOTHERF-! COMPANY ISSUED RETREATS!" J yelled loudly and tried to get her tail off only to slip and fall down on the ground. Tesla was able to grab her scythe and turned it off as Uzi walked towards her with her gun.
"Wanna do the honors?" Tesla asked and got an excited grin as they walked up to J.
"One more buzzword and she'll do it." Tesla said as Uzi grinned while charging her gun.
"Equity partnersh-'' J didn't get to finish when Uzi pulled the trigger and a huge blast finished J off.
Once it cleared, J's entire top half was obliterated into nothingness and Uzi put the gun on her shoulder and spat on the corpse to show who's the baddest drone ever.
With the threat and battle over, the other drones came out of hiding to cheer for her and Tesla. But an error appeared and she almost short circuited and she fell over but Tesla picks her up and lets her ride on her shoulders as N came up beside her with V, tied up in her own tail.
"Holy hell, Uzi, that was insane! Tesla, that was so crazy! And you too, uh..." Thad started but didn't know the name of the drone that helped his two friends
"Oh! N! I'm an angsty rebellious disassembly drone, now." N said as he leaned against Tesla with his eyes now shades before turning back into pupils.
They heard someone clearing their throat and they turned to see that it was Khan. Tesla settled a glare since she could feel the anger and betrayal emitting from Uzi. Uzi throws her wrench back at his feet in anger.
"I brought the murder drones here accidentally. You chose to leave me for dead instead of just freaking believing in me! That's not even an edgy teen hyperbole like when I said it last week!" Uzi yelled at him as Khan tried to speak but Tesla didn't let him.
"For a father, you are the worst dad of the year. You left Uzi in an act of cowardice instead of believing in her!" Tesla yelled at him angrily.
Uzi was almost in tears as Tesla calmed her down as she glared heatedly at Khan.
"I'll save you the trouble, Khan. I banished myself!" Uzi said as Thad was in shock by this.
"Let's go, N, Tes. Everyone here can bite me!" Uzi told them.
N grabs V as he and Tesla started to leave
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Uzi!" N said but Uzi reached over and smacked him.
"Shut it."
N was able to carry the three of them. He was holding V in one hand and holding Tesla in the other by her waist and Uzi riding his shoulders as he took off with them.
Thad watched in sadness with Lizzy and Doll by what happened as Khan took a sip from his mug in disappointment."#1 DAD" Nothing could be further from the truth from what he did.
Meanwhile, outside in the frozen wilderness of the Colony, Uzi was sitting on top of a broken car, thinking to herself. Meanwhile, N is lodged inside the Corpse House with Tesla sleeping.
"I'd join you if the sun didn't kill me. Hope you're having important character growth or something, though!" N shouted to her.
Uzi heard him and stood up on the roof of the car with a smirk.
"Just can't wait to murder all humans. Classic robot stuff. I hope they're sitting pretty there on Earth, because we're coming for them!" Uzi said as she didn't notice her eyes flickering in the same color of the Disassembly Drones.
She began to laugh maniacally as N just watched in concern before looking at Tesla, who was sleeping soundly.
They were unaware of what's happening as three pods were heading straight for Copper 9 and possibly 9 more Disassembly Drones.
