Three moons later

Firekit yawned as he awoke from his slumber, raising his head and slowly getting up from between his siblings. It had been three moons since Firekit and his sister joined ThunderClan. During those three moons, Frostfur's kits about two moons after he and his littermate joined, were born; she named them Cinderkit, a smoky dark gray she-kit with the same eyes as her mother, Brackenkit, a golden-brown tabby tom with long legs and eyes like his father, Lionheart, Thornkit, a golden-brown tabby just like his brother but with pale blue eyes, and finally Brightkit, a mostly white, ginger tabby she-kit with eyes also just like Frostfur's, Oh- and Longpaw became a warrior, Longtail.

He also met a few cats that he hadn't spoken to until a few days after he joined the clan; Sandkit, Ravenkit, and Dustkit. The three became apprentices to Whitestorm, Redtail and Tigerclaw, about a moon after he and his sister joined, around that same time Firekit became best friends with Graykit and Ravenpaw. While Fawnkit became really good friends with Sandpaw and Dustpaw, although Dustpaw was a meanie in Firekit's opinion, but Fawnkit seemed to think he was nice, which Firekit thought was mousedung because he had been nothing but rude to him ever since their first conversation. Dustkit looked at Firekit and scoffed, turning his head back away from Firekit. "Kittypet piece of dung," Dustkit muttered. Firekit looked at him with an offended expression and with a huff, walked away.

He thought back to the moment with annoyance. He didn't know why he had been so rude to him but so nice to his sister; did he like her? Did he want to use her for something? He thought of so many reasons to explain why Dustpaw acted the way he did, but none of them were very good. In other news Graykit became the apprentice to Lionheart about a half moon before. Oh, and he almost forgot! Firekit jumped onto Fawnkit with excitement in his eyes.

"Fawnkit! Wake up, it's apprenticeship day!" he squealed in excitement. Fawnkit yawned, muttering under her breath about how she wanted to sleep a little longer until the words that her brother said processed in her head. "Apprenticeship day?!?" She said as she quickly perked her head up to look at her littermate. Firekit nodded "Uh huh! I can't wait to find out who my mentor is going to be!" He chirped. Fawnkit quickly jumped onto her paws "Ya! I'm really hoping for Thrushpelt or maybe even Bluestar!"

"Well I really don't mind who I get as my mentor!" Firekit mewed "As long as I get to learn to be a warrior, I'll be happy!" He squeaked. While the two kits spoke they noticed their foster mother, Goldenflower slowly raising her head up with a yawn, she looked towards the two kits with amusement in her gaze "You two so excited for your apprenticeship that you woke up early?" She purred with a light chuckle in her voice.

Firekit nodded but Fawnkit scoffed "Firekit woke me up." She muttered as she slightly pinned her ears back. Firekit huffed "Well sorry 'miss needs her beauty sleep'!" He retorted. Fawnkit raised her paw to her heart with an offended look on her face. Goldenflower chuckled "Now, now you two let's be nice" she meowed as she stood up making sure not to bother her two younger sleeping kits. Goldenflower curled her tail around the two kits and led them out of the nursery and sat at the entrance waiting for Bluestar to announce the clan meeting before moving any further.

Bluestar walked out of her den and walked onto the highrock with her head held high. She called the clan meeting: "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather for a clan meeting!" Her voice projected around camp, and the clan began to gather. Goldenflower stood up and led the two kits into the crowd, sitting down in the middle of it and moving her tail to cover her paws as she watched on with pride. Bluestar looked down at her clan with her usual stoic expression. "Today we apprentice two kits today, Firekit, Fawnkit step forward." Firekit swiftly ran to the front of the crowd as Fawnkit followed slowly after, standing next to her brother as they both looked up at Bluestar.

"Fawnkit, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, Until you earn your warrior name, You will be known as Fawnpaw. Your mentor will be Runningwind. I hope Runningwind will pass down all he knows to you." Bluestar meowed and looked over at Runningwind.

"Runningwind, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have received excellent training from Myself and you have shown yourself to be a loyal clanmate and a great hunter. You will mentor Fawnpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Fawnpaw." Fawnpaw and Runningwind walk up to each other and touch noses after which, Runningwind went and sat back in the crowd, while Bluestar looks to Firekit and starts talking again.

"Firekit, You have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, Until you earn your warrior name. You will be known as Firepaw, I will mentor you." Bluestar meowed as she leaped down from highrock and touched noses with Firepaw. "Firepaw! Fawnpaw! Firepaw! Fawnpaw!" Most of the clan chanted. Once the chanting stopped, Bluestar dismissed the clan, "Clan dismissed!"

As the clan disbanded, Firekit trotted after his mentor. "What are we going to do today, Bluestar?" he asked. The she-cat looked down at him with a light smile. "We're going to check out the territory first, then we'll work on hunting," she meowed, looking towards the entrance of the clan while she walked. "Fawnpaw will be doing the same, with her mentor, Runningwind." As Bluestar spoke, Fawnpaw walked up to the two cats with Runningwind right behind her . "Firepaw! Are you going to see the territory too?"

Firepaw looked over at his littermate and nodded. "Mhm! And I'm going to practice hunting afterwards." Firepaw chirped. Fawnpaw perked her head up. "Me too! Do you think we'll be able to work together?" Fawnpaw asked, looking towards her mentor Runningwind with a tilt of her head. "If Bluestar is okay with it," Runningwind meowed while looking to Bluestar.

"After we tour the territory, you two may work together on your hunting." Bluestar meowed. Both littermates perked their heads up in excitement. "Yes!" They squeaked and Firepaw ran into the tunnel entrance with Fawnpaw following closely behind. Both mentors looked at eachother with amused gaze and with a shake of their heads they followed their apprentices.

When the two mentors caught up with their apprentices, the four cats made their way across the territory. Firepaw looked around in wonder, just as he had done when he first went into the forest. "Fawnpaw, isn't this awesome?" Firepaw squeaked. Fawnpaw looked to her brother as she took the sights in around her. "Mhm! It's just as pretty as I remembered it." The she chirped. "I can't wait for my first battle! I'm gonna kick the other clan's butts!" Fawnpaw meowed excitedly. Runningwind huffed. "Well, you aren't going into battle until you learn a few battle moves, so don't expect one for at least a moon," Runningwind meowed. Fawnpaw's ears dropped. "Aw, but that's so long!" Fawnpaw whined.

Bluestar chuckled. "Don't worry, a moon will go by before you know it," she meowed to the young apprentice. Fawnpaw huffed and said, "I wanna fight now though!" She whined. Bluestar looked to Runningwind, then leaned her head down to Fawnpaw. "Patient apprentices become the best warriors, young one." The she-cat purred. Fawnpaw perked her ears and asked, "They do?" Bluestar nodded and replied, "Mhm." Fawnpaw paused, tilting her head down before swiftly raising it back up. Excitedly, she exclaimed, "Well, I'm going to be the most patient apprentice ever!" Firepaw looked to his mentor and littermate and piped up "Me too!"

Bluestar grinned. "I'm sure you both will." Before turning her attention to the path ahead of her, she continued, "Well, let's keep going; I'd like to show you two, Sunningrocks today." Bluestar meowed as she trotted in the direction of Sunningrocks. The three other cats followed closely behind her. When they finally made it to Sunningrocks, they noticed that Riverclan warriors were present. Bluestar flicked her tail angrily. "Riverclan," she growled, looking to Fawnpaw and Firepaw. She spoke to them, "Go to camp and get backup; we aren't letting Riverclan take Sunningrocks from us."

Both nodded and ran back to camp Firepaw got there first with Fawnpaw right after. "Riverclan at Sunningrocks!" Firepaw yowled. Redtail swiftly jerked his head to look at the two apprentice and then looked around camp "Tigerclaw, Ravenpaw, Dustpaw, and Mousefur! To me!" He yowled as the 4 cats ran behind him out of camp with Firepaw and Fawnpaw following after close behind them. When they made it to Sunningrocks the battle begun. Firepaw made sure to stay out of it and just watch while Fawnpaw jumped in and pounced onto a Riverclan apprentice. Fawnpaw was quickly defeated so she ran from the apprentice before she could get hurt anymore. She ran back into the bushes as the battle continued. Firepaw watched as Redtail and Oakheart fought and watched nervously as the rocks fell narrowly missing Redtail but falling onto. Firepaw and Fawnpaw both pinned their ears back in shock. Before they spotted the Riverclan Leader, Crookedstar "Riverclan retreat!" He'd yowl. As they watched the Riverclan cats retreat, they spotted Tigerclaw and Redtail talking with Bluestar. "You guys can go ahead," Redtail said. "Me and Tigerclaw will be making sure that no Riverclan warriors are still in ThunderClan territory." Bluestar nodded. "Alright," she meowed. "Be safe, you two." She then turned away from them and began walking back towards camp, leaving the two young apprentices behind. Firepaw was going to follow after her, but decided to stay to watch Redtail and Tigerclaw instead. He was curious about what would happen next. But unlike him, Fawnpaw decided to follow after Bluestar, while Firepaw stayed; the tom watched as Tigerclaw and Redtail talked and looked for any leftover Riverclan warriors who hadn't left ThunderClan territory yet.

Redtail looked to the river that bordered ThunderClan and RiverClan, and sighed. Looking down, he mewed, "I don't think any RiverClan warriors are here." Redtail meowed. Tigerclaw remained quiet as he walked towards Redtail. "Oh, I know that," he grumbled with an odd look in his eyes. Firepaw watched in horror as he lunged at Redtail, biting him in the scruff, biting down as hard as he could. Redtail's eyes widened with betrayal in his gaze before quickly falling limp, Tigerclaw let his scruff go and watched as Redtail's whole body fell to the floor. He stared at his body for a bit before Swiftly turning his head to look at Firepaw. His breath hitched before quickly running towards camp as Tigerclaw growled chasing after him and quickly knocking him out, as he hit the floor he spotted a Black cat with a bit of white on his chest in his sight before passing out.
