Chapter 5: Familiars
It has been a week since Asia became part of the peerage. She moved in with Issei since she didn't have anywhere else to stay. She also enrolled in school.
Asia was adapting surprisingly well.
She even was able to go on summoning requests.
Currently everyone was gathered at the ORC building.
Rias then decided that it was time for her 3 newest members to get their familiars.
"Alright you three, it's time you move on from delivering fliers."
The three of them perk up.
"We'll be getting you familiars."
"What's a familiar?" Issei asked.
"A familiar is a creature that you form a contract with, in a way they are like your servant, or spirit partner. You can call them at any time, and they're linked to you." Colton explained.
Rias, Akeno and Koneko all show their familiars.
Colton walked over to Koneko and reached his hand out to her familiar: Shiro.
Shiro sniffed his hand, before moving his head into Colton's hand, letting him pet him.
Akeno looked at this from the corner of her eye. 'More teasing material. Familiars are only comfortable around those who their masters are comfortable around. Even more proof that she likes him.'
"Alright, now that it's settled-" Rias began as she heard a knock.
Colton fired a small magic blast at the door. The blast caused the door to open on its own.
In walked the Student Council.
"Greeting Sona, what brings you here?" Rias asked.
"Hello Rias. I'm just here to congratulate you on your three new peerage members." Sona greeted.
"Wait... How does she know?" Issei asked.
Colton turned to Issei and gave him a deadpan look.
Issei saw the look, and it clicked. "Oh. She's a devil too isn't she?"
"Sona Shitori, otherwise known as Sona Sitri. She is the current head of the Sitri household, one of the major pillars. She is also the younger sister to one of the 4 Satans, just like me." Rias explained.
"Thank you for the explanation Rias, may I know who your new pieces- excuse me, family members are?" Sona asked.
"Will you three step up?" Rias asked.
Colton, Issei and Asia all stood in front of everyone.
"This is my pawn: Issei, my bishop: Asia, and my other queen: Colton." Rias introduced.
This took Sona and her peerage by surprise. "Pardon me, but did you say 'other queen'?"
"That's what I said. I was lucky that my brother had given me that experimental mutated queen piece. Otherwise Colton wouldn't be here."
"I see..." Sona said, taking in that information. "Anyway, this is my new member: Saji, my pawn." Sona motioned to the boy in her group.
Issei walked up to him. "So, we're both pawns, huh? Nice to meet you." He greeted.
"Don't lump me in with you. I'm your superior, as I took up four pawns." Saji said, arrogantly.
Colton then walked up. "He took up all 8."
"Huh!?" Saji was surprised.
"He's right Saji. Next time, make sure you fact check before you make a fool out of yourself." Sona scolded him.
Saji deflated. Then he looked at Asia. "Well, hello to you." He said, making her uncomfortable.
"U-uhm." Asia was really nervous.
Colton and Issei then got between Saji and Asia.
"Leave her be, your making her uncomfortable." Colton said with a disapproving look.
"What he said. I don't appreciate you trying to flirt with my friend." Issei said.
Saji then looked at both of them, who had a steeled look in their eyes. Saji then backed off.
"Well, it's good to see you getting new members. Do you have any plans?" Sona asked.
"I was going to the Familiar Forest to get my new members their familiars." Rias answered.
"That's going to be a problem. I also have plans on going to the Familiar Forest, and we both know that he only excepts one group every month." Sona explained.
"That is a problem... why don't we settle this with a game?" Rias asked.
"Oh, a Rating game?" Sona inquired.
"Oh, no. We'd never get permission to do that."
"That is true, plus you'd not want to bring attention to yourself with what's going on."
"Don't go there." Rias said, dangerously.
"Sorry. I know your sensitive on that subject. So what were you thinking?" Sona asked.
"How about some regular school sports? Tennis for example." Rias stated.
"Alright. Tomorrow during lunch break in the tennis court. A doubles match, me and my queen, versus you and one of yours."
"It's a deal. See you then." Rias said.
Sona and her peerage walked out.
"Akeno. Prepare yourself for tomorrow."
"Alright Prez." Akeno said.
It was the next day, currently Colton, Koneko, Kiba, Asia and Issei were on the bleachers facing the tennis court.
They were waiting for Rias and Akeno, who were changing, as well as Sona and her queen: Tsubaki Shinra.
The rest of Sona's peerage were also there.
News of the match caught wind around school and a bunch of students, mainly boys, came to watch.
Colton looked around him at all the boys. "I'm honestly kinda disgusted with the amount of boys that showed up."
"Same here." Koneko agreed.
Soon, the participants walked out and onto the court.
The boys in the audience started to cheer, causing Colton to gain a disgusted look.
Colton looked over at Issei who had a camera set up alongside his two perverted friends.
Colton sighed. Lifting a finger, he discreetly used lightning magic to short out the camera.
"No! My camera!" Issei exclaimed.
"Perv." Both Colton and Koneko mutter at the same time.
The participants have started the match.
The game started out normal, until Sona got a bit too competitive and started to use magic.
Rias responded by also using magic.
"It seems like they don't care that there's a crowd. And here I thought we were supposed to keep magic on the down low when around the unaware." Colton commented.
"Although it seems like the boys are too perverted to notice." Koneko replied.
Colton took a look around and saw the looks from all the male students. "Your right about that Koneko."
Not too long later, the game ends in a tie, as both sides broke their rackets.
Colton and Koneko brought the broken rackets back into the gym. They then went over to the ORC building.
Once they got there, they saw everyone else.
"So, what now?" Colton asked.
"Sona and I have decided to settle this with dodgeball. Tomorrow evening we will gather at the gymnasium."
The next day, in the evening, the ORC were gathered in the gym.
Colton got everyone's attention. "I'd like to get us all in costume before we start."
"Oh, and what do you have in mind Colton?" Rias asked.
"This. Widespread Clothes Beam!" Colton shouts as he uses the spell.
The spell affected all 7 of them. Once the spell succeeded, they were all in matching outfits.
Everyone was wearing a t-shirt that had the Gremory symbol on it, and they were wearing a pair of sport pants.
Everyone's clothes fit them perfectly.
"Nice choice." Kiba complemented.
"Thanks. The clothes are special. They allow you to move around freely without getting in the way." Colton explained.
Kiba tested that by doing some stretches, the clothes indeed did not get in the way.
"They are really flexible." Kiba stated.
Soon, Sona and her peerage walked in.
"Are you ready?" Sona asked.
"Ready to win." Rias responds.
They all get into position.
Once they start, Sona's peerage gets the ball first.
The game started normal, but soon magic was being used.
Kiba and Koneko were out, but so where a few members of Sona's peerage.
Sona had the ball. She poured some magic into it and aimed at Issei.
"Take this!" She shouts as she threw the ball.
Issei dodged the ball, but it wasn't over.
Colton noticed the ball start to turn back.
"Issei dodge!" Colton shouts.
"Dodge wha-" Issei began as he turned around.
Doing so was a mistake. The ball hit Issei right in the male pride.
Colton, Kiba and Saji all cringed from seeing that.
Once Issei was moved off the field, Colton held the ball.
Colton poured some magic into the ball. "Time to end this."
Colton threw the ball at an angle upwards.
This move confused the opposing team.
The ball then curved down and at fast speeds, hit each of them in the back, eliminating them from the game.
"And, that's game." Colton said.
Rias then walked over to Sona.
"Well that was fun." Rias said while holding a hand out to her.
Sona took the hand and Rias helped her up. "It certainly was. And since you won, you can go to the Familiar Forest, as promised."
"See you later." Rias said as she walked back over to her team.
The next day, at night, the ORC were gathered at the building.
"Tonight is a full moon, which means that it is the perfect time to get a familiar." Rias explained.
They then used a magic circle to teleport.
Once they arrived Rias began to talk.
"Alright you three, this is the Familiar Forest. We will be getting your familiars here. Now- Colton? Where'd he go?"
They all look around and see that Colton was not with them.
Koneko then sniffed the air.
"He went that way." Koneko said, pointing in a direction.
Rias was then in thought. 'He separated from the group as soon as we got here. That must mean he's being called to.'
"Koneko. Could you please follow him to make sure he doesn't get lost?" Rias asked.
"Sure." Koneko said as she took off in the direction Colton went.
Koneko started to run to catch up to Colton.
After a while, she came across a sight that shocked her to her core.
"Oh, hey Koneko! Look what I found! My familiar! He looks just like Slifer!" Colton shouted from above.
Colton was seen sitting on a huge serpent like creature. The creature was red in color, looking just like Slifer the Sky Dragon. The difference is that it only had one mouth, and its wings were connected to its arms.
Koneko eventually steeled herself. "Colton! Get down here this instant!" She yelled.
"Alright buddy, lower me down please." Colton said to his familiar. The familiar complied.
It lowered its head, and Colton slid off.
"What's up?" Colton asked.
"What's up? What's up!? Your familiar is what's up!"
"Why? What's wrong with him?"
"Do you know what that is!?"
"...No." Colton said after a few seconds.
"That's Uria! The Lord of Searing Flames! A malicious divine creature!"

"Oh! So that's his name. Nice to meet you Uria!" Colton said joyfully.
"How are you so calm!? This is a dangerous creature!" Koneko exclaimed.
"And why are you freaking out? He's not malicious at all. He's a big softie, watch."
"Uria! Want a hug!?" Colton shouts.
Uria bends down and pushes his head against Colton. Colton repsonds by spreading his arms outward, the two in the closest thing you can call a hug involving a creature more than 10 times the size of its master.
Koneko can't believe what she was seeing.
"I literally can not believe this. One of the three Mythic Demons, not only becoming a familiar, but also acting like some sort of household pet."
'Mythic Demon? Oh, so that's why he likes me so much. Maybe I should do research on them sometime.' Colton thought.
Colton then turned to Koneko. "Let's go back to the others and show them Uria."
"Prez is gonna flip." Koneko said as she walked over.
Colton climbed up onto Uria's head, then he bent down and held out a hand for Koneko. She took the hand, and Colton pulled her up onto Uria.
"Alright Uria! That way!" Colton shouts with excitement, pointing in a random direction.
Koneko moves his hand in another direction. "It's that way."
"That way!" Colton corrected.
Uria then flew off in the direction that Colton correctly pointed to.
After a few minutes of flying, which both of the them enjoyed, they saw the others.
When they took a closer look, they could see Rias, Akeno and Asia covered in some sentient slime.
The slime was starting to melt their clothes.
"Uria. Burn the slime, and not the girls, okay?" Colton asked.
Uria, ever the master of its own fire, shot a few small fireballs that melted the slime, and didn't harm the girls.
Colton then shot out his hand. "Clothes Beam!" He shouts, intending on using the spell to repair their clothing.
Then the 3 girl's outfits were replaced by completely intact versions of the outfits they were wearing, so now they no longer shown any skin that was exposed due to the slime.
Issei then began to complain. "No! My familiar!"
Rias then sighed. "Thanks for the save Colton-" Rias stopped due to the sight she saw.
"What's wrong Rias, did you see-" Akeno also stopped, seeing just what Rias saw.
"My clothes are not only repaired, but brand new. That is such a useful magic spell. Thanks Col-" Asia was saying until she also saw.
Issei got curious to why the 3 suddenly stopped talking, so he turned his head to see.
"What is that!?" Issei exclaimed.
What did they see? Well they saw Colton and Koneko sitting atop Uria.
"C-C-Colton. K-K-Koneko. Get down, please?" Rias stuttered out, clearly afraid of the creature in front of her.
Colton put a hand on Uria. "Down please."
Uria complied, moving down to let them get off.
Colton and Koneko then hopped off.
Colton turned back to Uria. "Are you able to shrink down?"
Uria nodded, and shrank down to the size of scarf.
Uria then coiled loosely around Colton's neck, resting his head on Colton's shoulder, with his wings tucked in.
"Hey guys. Meet my familiar: Uria." Colton said.
Rias and Akeno were at a loss for words.
Asia then spoke up. "You have a Mythic Demon as a familiar!? That's so cool!"
Asia then walked up, and Uria moved himself to look at Asia.
Asia held her hand out to Uria. Rias and Akeno were freaking out.
"Asia no!" Rias shouted as Asia moved her hand closer.
Uria moved closer to her hand, looking at it, then at her.
Asia gives a warm smile. Uria then moved his head and rubs against Asia's hand.
"Aww! How cute." Asia commented as she pet Uria.
"Woah, so cool." Issei said, as he also approached.
Uria looked at Issei and not even 5 seconds later, he shot a fireball at him.
Issei jumped out of the way. "Woah! Not friendly, not friendly!"
Uria then moved his head back over to Asia's hand, getting her it pet him again.
"Aww! He likes you. Must be because your so pure." Colton commented.
Rias and Akeno finally got out of their shock, and walk over.
"To get a Mythic Demon out of all things as a familiar. You keep getting more special each day." Rias commented.
"My, my. How terrifying and cute at the same time." Akeno said.
"So, how did you stumble across Uria anyway?" Rias asked.
"I kinda just had a feeling right when we got here, and I followed the feeling all the way to Uria." Colton explained.
'It's as if Uria called to him. But why would something so malicious want to be a familiar? Does this have to do with the side of Colton that he hasn't shared with us?' Rias thought.
All of a sudden, a small Sprite Dragon flew down and landed on Asia's shoulder.
"Hey, it's the dragon from earlier." Issei stated.
He tried to grab it, only for it to shock him with electricity.
"Oh hey, a sprite dragon. Behavior studies have shown that they tend to use electricity to protect those they deem important. And considering it's on Asia's shoulder, and it shocked Issei, it must really like you Asia." Colton explained.
"Really? Do you want to become my familiar?" Asia asked the dragon, after moving it into her hands.
The dragon nodded. Asia then performed the familiar binding ritual on it.
"I think I'll call you Rassei." Asia said.
"Cute name." Colton complimented.
Uria, then stares at Rassei, while Rassei stares back.
The two stare at each other for a few more seconds before looking at Asia and then looking back at each other. The two then nod.
The two familiars then turn towards Issei and fire attacks at him.
"Hey not cool!" Issei shouts as he jumps away.
Uria then turned towards Koneko and flew over to her.
Koneko looked a little nervous. Uria pointed at Koneko's hand.
/remember, he has arms.\
Uria then pointed back at himself.
Koneko seemed confused.
"He wants you to pet him, Koneko." Colton said.
Koneko hesitantly moved her hand close to Uria.
She put her hand on top of Uria's head. Uria seemed to enjoy it.
Koneko then gave a small smile and began to pet Uria.
'And his familiar is comfortable around her. Even more teasing material.' Akeno thought to herself.
"Well, two out of three for familiars. We'll just have to try again some other time for Issei, and preferably get him one that he can't use for anything perverted." Rias said that last part with a very unamused tone.
"By the way, whose that guy?" Colton asked, pointing to a man unconscious on the ground.
"Oh, that's the Familiar Master. I'm guessing he fell unconscious upon seeing Uria. Anyway let's go home." Rias said.
They all gather together, with Uria once again loosely coiling around Colton's neck. They all teleport back to the ORC, with Colton then proceeding to teleport back home.
Back home, Colton pulled out his special communicator.
He went into his text messages and started to text one particular person who he rarely gets along with.
"Hey bro, can you do a lot of research. Anything on the Mythic Demons?"
After a little bit he got a reply.
"Odd question. Yeah I do, why ask?"
Colton then took a picture of himself with Uria still wrapped around him. Colton then sent the picture.
After a few moments, he started to get bombarded with messages from his brother.
"Dude!"
"How do you have a Mythic Demon!"
"Is he your familiar?"
Colton then texted back.
"Calm down four eyes. Yes he's my familiar. I've never heard of the Mythic Demons before today, so I want to know a bit more about my familiar."
Colton's brother then texted back.
"The Mythic Demons are divine beasts that are basically the dark shadows of Egypt's 3 divine beasts. I can only guess that Slifer liked you the most out of all three when mother introduced us to them, seeing as Uria is Slifer's dark shadow."
"Thanks for the info." Colton texted.
His brother didn't respond, so neither did Colton.
Colton then got ready for bed.
Once he got in bed, Uria curled up right next to him.
"G'night buddy." Colton said to Uria.
'Well, this is going to turn out great. Having another living being in this house will keep me from being lonely.' Colton thought to himself.
Colton then drifted off to sleep.
