Chapter 10: Fractured Speed 3

All events mentioned are happening simultaneously with Hyperman Transformation (Chapter 9)

Earth 1-2: Between Timeless Space - Reverse Speed Force

"Son!? After you killed my Mom?" the Remnant shouts, charging forward, pinning Eobard (wearing Harrison Well's face) to a wall.

"And who ostracized you? left you abandoned, especially after you spent so much time freeing him from prison, loving dearly since childhood, the one guy who knew intimately, the one force that knew you better than you but left you lost and abandoned? Who?" Eobard Wells shouts back.

"Yes. maybe I have an Agenda! Maybe they all do" he continues, pointing at Zoom & Godspeed. "But, who still trained and benefited you to master your powers? Who guided you through thick and thin? Who was consistent in calling you 'Son' unwavering?, Who pulled you out of the force that isolated you?"

Remnant Barry calmed down "You." He released his grip.

"Exactly" Eobard walks past him.

"Question now is, what do You really Want?" he spins around, eyebrow cocked, facing Remnant Barry.

"To become something more. Barry Allen, Team Flash, the Speedforce ... all need to repent for the mistake of abandoning me at my weakest." Remnant swears.

"Say, how would you like it if Wally West, Iris's brother, Joe's real son, got the Speedforce instead of you?" Zoom injects.

Remnant Barry fumes coldly. His mind ran.

"No! What I was deprived of, someone else gets so easy? No!"

He did not realise his enactment of his feelings. He was shaking his head.

Eobard smiles.

"Why would you still want the Speedforce when you can have more?" Zoom interjects.

"What do you mean?" Remnant Barry narrows his eyes, seething. He was NOT going to get betrayed again!

"Oh I don't actually know. Reverse here was mentioning it" Zoom passes the baton.

"Project Savitar" Godspeed nods towards Eobard.

"Oh!" Remnant Barry looks at Eobard sarcastically.. Smirking, he drawls "why am I not surprised?" He finds a bar stool and hops in. "This realm is well stocked! Anyways I am listening".

"Project Savitar. Simply, once again we are going to groom you to be the best of us." Eobard waves at the other two." Eobard reveals.

"And why should I bother?" Remnant retorts

"Well because one: we brought you out of being abandoned." Godspeed quips in.

"Two: We have a common enemy, whose face you wear" Zoom tunes in.

"Enemy of the Enemy is your friend, at least temporarily" Eobard reminds him, "also it's good policy to have your own Team, ones who have tormented the Flash individually" he smiles.

"Besides this time my mentorship is more sincere other than for my own agenda", he smugly notes.

"You always have your own agenda Thawne" Remnant reminds.

"Yes, but this, it's aligned with what yours might be", he teases.

Eobard points towards the other two. "We are on your team. And I actually get to Mentor you. In a way you are my Son".

"I see" Remnant ponders as he walks away introspecting.

Remnant Barry

Immersed deep within, Remnant thinks about his past.

Iris stood shell-shocked as he turned into the Flash he whizzed towards the coming artificial tsunami - one created by the weather wizard holding Joe captive.

The wind picked up as did the beach sand forming a dune wall of air and sand as he zigged and zagged back and forth. The sand was now stacked up: 1 metre parapet.

Suddenly his scenery changed. It was night and in front of him were 2 mirages of himself shocked at seeing each other. Neither noticed him lagging behind. Remnant figured he must have skipped forward in time, as has no memory of seeing mirages of himself. His priority was rescue Joe.

He turned back to sprint and blasted himself through another portal. Landing back to what looked like Central City...but devilishly quiet.

The sand parapet he built was broken and the entire street and buildings collapsed with rescue workers trying to get the trapped.

"Iris!" He thought running to find her. Only to meet with Eddie cuddling her protectively Iris staring daggers at him.

Confused, he ran back to star labs only to be met with Harry Wells, Cisco and Catlin deafeningly quiet & solemn.

"Where's Joe?" Remnant Barry shouts.

"You lost control Barry" Harry Wells menaced, almost as if he was going to leap out of his wheelchair.

"You let the people down. Everyone on media saw that you ran and then disappeared like a coward" Cisco chipped in.

"Joe was torn apart and dipped and drowned by Weather Wizard's tsunami. Wizard himself perished from building collapse. But you went MIA and abandoned Central City." Catlin explained.

"Return the suit. You aren't worthy of it" Harry insists. "You went against my words, tried to be a hero and now failed. Return it!"

Eyes brimming, Remnant flashed out of his suit and away from star labs. He just ran ... into portals ... and out ... aimless each experience making things worse.

He eventually learnt that they were called Flashpoints. In his, multiple things never changed: his mother being killed, Iris marrying Eddie, team flash siding with Harry Thawne Wells, all of Central City despising him, Joe dying, Henry being further convicted or dying in prison, being the Remnant of a version of heroic Flash, who'd stopped one version of Zoom.

No matter what he tried, somehow these happened as an chain effect of the others. Finally,when he accessed the Speedforce, it was while mainstream Barry Allen returned from Earth 38. Remnant's speed was leaked from him, fuelling both the Speedforce & Barry's Tachyon Enhancer.

The Remnant lost both his speed & timelessness. Over time, the volatile nature of the Speedforce assaulted him, as without much speed he was in a perpetual lightning storm with no end in sight.

Until Eobard released him a while prior. And he realised that he had been ranting aloud for all three to hear.

Remnant Barry looks up suddenly. "I'm Game".

Reverse Speed Lab

Eobard asked Remnant Barry to stand touching a silver football. On other stands were 2 larger spheres.

"To begin the process, we will first drain the Speedforce from you. So give it your all."

"What? Why?" Remnant questions, anxious & puzzled. Suspicion having built up"

"To purge what did not work and give you a renewal" Godspeed says. Remnant grunted, placing his hands on the silver climbing onto the cosmic treadmill.

Remnant ran at his fastest as he begin to spark with what's left of his speedforce. Yellow lightning build around him sparking as he sprinted. It flowed through his hands into the sphere as it sparkled in colour.

Remnant felt slow and winded as all the speed left him. His sphere glowed and shot down the stand into a pipe that seemed to connect to a portal.

Earth 2

A pipe attached to an unconscious Wally, it began to sparkle as it rushed into his floor caged body. He struggled as was forcefully awoken shuddering, struggling while impaled and relentlessly electrocuted by the Speedforce lightning.

It was as in his cells were force fed the Speedforce and excruciating. Wally was vibrating out of face all the non-grounded items began levitating.

Another additional speedforce lightning added a second strike, and both saturated Wally. Once he reached saturation... the doubted shot of yellow lightning blitzed out of the cage so fast it heated bright white..

Wally was being toasted alive inside out. As all kinetic energy in his cells vibrated chaotically, Wally stayed helpless frying up. Unable to scream as his throat was burnt.

Reverse Speed Lab

Reverse Flash, Zoom and Godspeed gathered around the largest sphere and fired their respective speedster lightnings into the ball as it mixed and combined into a dark crimson lightning before shooting into the portal to Earth 2.

Earth 2

The Lightning tube once again filled dark crimson lightning, much more massive than the yellow as it coursed through Wally again. All he could do is go wide eyed in terrified pain.

Merging with the yellow lightning, Wally's body bloated within pressing through the white hot cage bars. As Wally's body vibrated, the yellow lightning began to turn red...influenced by the crimson counterpart before both turn bluish

Wally seems to heal a little as his bloated body reduces and burns somewhat heal. Wally let's out a guttural howl ...

In that moment, the blue lightning shoots out of Wally's body. Every cell is painfully purged of it again, through his feet into and portal. Wally collapse withered and comatose again.

Reverse Speed Lab

The Blue Lightning hits the middle sphere. It filters from there sparking at lower intensity into the smallest sphere next to Remnant.

"Start jogging" Eobard instructs.

As Remnant Barry jogs the blue lightning shoots into his body, and keeps intensifying as his speed climbs.

At the 10% mark, all normal person would have seen as blurry shadow of a stick moving on the treadmill.

As more blue lightning courses through towards 40% remnant the speedometer shows him exceeding 300000 km/min or less than 0.3% speed of light. He keeps getting faster.

The Speedometer hits 5% lightspeed. The Remnant's lightning sparks darker violet, as he roars with a rush speeding up so fast it pushes all Zoom's and Godspeed's speedster perceptions. To them he's now a moving ball of purple glare.

Everyone realises that whole spatial atmosphere and portal is channelling lightning storms from yellow, converting into crimson red in largest sphere, blue in the middle sphere & finally purple into the smallest sphere. This is being that's absorbed by Remnant.

"Keep pushing!" Eobard orders. The only person who can perceive the Remnant now. Remnant accelerates towards 60% lightspeed.

88% lightspeed pushes Eobard's power to almost maximum to watch Remnant's lightning turn purplish blue-white. He pushes, grunts hard to run faster ... but is unable to.

"Terminal Relativity" Eobard calls out.

Remnant stares at Eobard. "You have reached the terminal velocity of speed, against infinite mass at light speed. It's similar to terminal velocity in a free fall. Just this time for light speed. You'll learn how to overcome it, but not today" he explains.

He points out to Remnant. All the Speedforce balls are drained into Remnant Barry.

"Rest. You still have to train for your challenge to prove your worth" he continues talking.

"What challenge?" Remnant asks eager to take it on.

"Very Soon. Focus on your training for now." Eobard walks away, gesturing to lunch & bed.

Remnant has his lunch and naps for few hours as his body adapts to the new force.

Later in Reverse Speed Lab

Zoom and Godspeed brace themselves staring down Remnant.

Even In speed-time, Zoom's body is engulfed in white lightning, his eyes ablaze. Godspeed is completely engulfed dark golden lightning.

They stare at Remnant Barry and charge towards him. For the outsider, Zoom and Godspeed's lightnings simply disappear from view.

For them, in their 'speed-time' they are pushing themselves to the limits …but Remnant Barry is standing in place. They realises he is looking at them.

Remnant Barry fizzles out of their view … and both of them are face-planting so hard onto the floor.

it leaves facial imprints and multiple facial and skull hairlines on each of them. Fortunately, they vibrate and set themselves back in place. Looking up Remnant Barry is pulsing violet and peering at them.

Thawne zips in. "Atta boy! Zoom, Godspeed .. be on guard" as he shows Remnant a hyper sped up collation of MMA martial arts clips from striking, kicking, throws, takedowns, locks, sticks and sword fighting. It's a blur to even Zoom & Godspeed.

Next thing they know, they have flown into the air crashing into separate wall constructs. Eobard's eyes glows with excitement as he watches Remnant test out the entire syllabus he learnt on Godspeed and Zoom.

Godspeed creates multiple mirages of himself to attack Remnant. But Remnant simply projects violet lightning and electrocutes all of them.

Zoom turns around to find Remnant head butting him and chain punching him combining Wing Chun and Boxing at terminal speed. Zoom literally corkscrews through the air crashing into Godspeed.

Remnant zips in front of them with a smirk … and gets slapped across the face as he flops onto the floor.

"Watch that attitude with us! You may have beaten them but technically they are your parents of your new powers." Reverse Flash growls, eyes glowing red.

Remnant angry, charges Thawne. He is faster, but somehow Thawne makes him fumble at the last moment. Using his own energy against him, slaps him into the walls. "One thing you learn is that there will always be someone who can beat you".

"NO!" Remnant roars as he rushes back and slides at Thawne's ankles, intending to break it. Thawne simply phases through Remnant and solidifies enough to break Remnant's shins. "AHH OWW!" Remnant rages purple eyes blazing.

"As I said, we made you. We can make you lose. Oh, if you think of destroying the balls … there is no backup if you run out of steam." Thawne reminds.

"Now keep training. Earn your Challenge."

Remnant resumes training against Reverse Speed Force simulated constructs as they adapt to his training, mirror & challenge him.
