A lot happened in one week with Milky at Calliope's apartment: seeing a TV and video games for the first time; Milky's new obsession with Shrek, Wario, and Sonic the Hedgehog; her drinking hot water straight from the kettle; Riceman's introduction to and new obsession with jam.

That aside, Calliope asked Milky what she if there was anything she wanted to do with her life. At first, the princess thought about taking back her home; but then she realized even if she somehow managed to do so and rescue her subjects, she would have returned back to the same unhappy life at the palace once things returned back to normal. With a lot on Milky's mind, the shikigami assured her that everything will be all right and they are bound to come across her subjects eventually.

The next day, Calliope showed Milky and Riceman her hobby of singing Pop Rap in front of a crowd. The experience would inspire the princess to become a songstress (though she would eventually learn another word for it, "idol"). However, the three were being watched from afar.

Soon, Calliope brought Milky Queen and Riceman to KFP for lunch where they would meet her friend Kiara Takanashi working there. The shikigami explained that her first visit to the surface world was rough and she struggled living there; but with the help of Kiara, the reaper was eventually able to learn to survive on her own. The ginger-haired girl was friendly and bubbly and accepted Milky Queen and Riceman very quickly.

After lunch, the group left Kiara and KFP and went to the zoo with leftovers in their bag. While they saw so many animals, Milky noticed a little tiger staring at their direction from behind bars. Realizing the feline must have smelt the KFP food from their bag, Milky brought out a drumstick and carefully stretched it out to the tiger. The tiger took a little lick and immediately took interest, savoring each bite on the chicken bone.

The pattern would soon repeat for a few other animals in the zoo; another drumstick for a coyote, a few chicken nuggets for a panda, and fries for a parrot. Little did Milky know that their lives were now intertwined with hers.
