Authors note: Fall is just around the corner so I decided to a fall theme A Bugs Life one shot! Hope you like it! This story takes place 2 years after my fan made sequel and 20 weeks after Maggie joins the circus.

It was a beautiful day on Ant Island! Sun rises over the horizon and of course with changing colors of the leaves. The ants at work as usual! King Flik and Queen Atta are just waking up out of bed and getting ready for the day. King Flik and Queen Atta got out of bed and open their eyes. Both ants smiled and stretched their arms and legs.

Queen Atta:" Good morning, Flik!"

King Flik:" Good morning, Atta sleep well!"

Queen Atta:" Yep I sure did!"

King Flik:" Me too!" Looking forward to today."

Queen Atta:" Me too!" Today is the harvest festival, the Circus bugs are coming too!"

King Flik:" Yep they will be, it will be Maggie's first time experiencing the harvest festival hope she will like it!"

Queen Atta:" I'm pretty sure she will like it!" Remember it will take her time to warm up to you!"

King Flik:" Good point Atta!"

Queen Atta nodded in agreement.

As Queen Atta and King Flik finished eating breakfast and cleaned up and went outside to do some preparations. Moments later the Circus Bugs arrived. The ant colony cheered to see their circus friends again.

Queen Atta and King Flik exchanged hugs and kisses with the circus bugs. The Circus Bugs did the same.

Queen Atta:" It's wonderful to see you guys again!"

Gypsy:" It's wonderful seeing you two ants again too Atta dear!"

Flik:" How are things going with your performances?"

Manny:" Same as usual my dears!" Our Performance's are plain same flaming death act."

Francis:" Yeah pretty much we can never get PT.Flea to change to our routines just a tiny minute."

Queen Atta:" You guys do have Maggie now!"

Maggie shyly felt nervous.

Rosie has Dim help Maggie. Dim nodded in agreement.

Queen Atta :"Is She okay?"

Rosie:" Maggie will be okay, Atta honey!" Dim is helping her!" It will take her time to get comfortable with everyone. She's comfortable with Dim!"

King Flik:" No worries Rosie, it's understandable!"

Rosie:" Thank you Flik, honey!"

King Flik:" You Welcome, We're getting ready for the harvest festival !"

Heimlich:" Oohh so exciting!" Will there be candy corn!"

Queen Atta :"Of course Heimlich, There will be plenty of candy corn!"

Heimlich licking his lips.

Francis shook his head.

Slim:" Always Thinking with your stomach, I see Heimlich!"

Molt:" Looking forward to seeing the harvest festival, this is actually my first time seeing it too!"

King Flik:" Is that so!"

Molt:" Yep. It is!"

Princess Dot:" It will be a lot fun we're going do bobbing for Apples too!" Guess what?"

Rosie:" What's that, Dot honey!"

Princess Dot:" We're having another Halloween party too, dressing up in costumes!"

All the bugs:" Ooohhh!"

Slim:" Wow!"

Francis:" Cool kid!" Sounds like fun!"

Heimlich:" Ooh so exciting!"

Manny: " Aww! Marvelous idea, Dot my dear!"

Rosie:" Sounds like a lot fun, Dot honey!"

Princess Dot nodded in agreement.

Queen Atta:" Flik why don't you go ahead show your new inventions and I'm going to go ahead and make some preparations!"

King Flik:" Okay Atta sounds like a plan!"

While Queen Atta leaves to go make some preparations for the harvest festival. King Flik shows the Circus Bugs his new latest inventions.

King Flik:" Over here guys!"

The Circus Bugs:" Wow!"

Gypsy:" My goodness Flik, dear!" You made some many new inventions!"

King Flik:" Yep they are!"

Rosie:" Wow Flik honey!" There are very nice creations you built!"

King Flik:" Thanks Rosie!"

Rosie:" Your Welcome Flik honey!"

Maggie :" You built them on your own!"

King Flik:" Yep I do Maggie!"

While King Flik was showing the Circus Bugs around, Aphie of course comes in and barks excitedly.

King Flik:" Hey there Aphie!"

Aphie barks happily.

King Flik:" Okay Aphie, Sit!" Aphie shake!"

Aphie on command, Aphie sits down. Aphie shakes with his front leg.

Molt;" Wow , Aphie is very smart!"

King Flik:" Thanks Molt!"

Molt nodded in agreement.

Slim:" How long have you been training Aphie to do that?"

King Flik;" Quite Awhile , Dot ask me to train Aphie while she's with her sister helping with Flika!"

Ramona :" Cousin!"

King Flik:" Yep, Flika is with her mom right now and Your aunt Dot even though she's not of age yet!"

Ramona :" Oww!"

Aphie scratches himself and sees Dim and Maggie. Aphie barks happily showing he wants to play with Dim and Maggie. Aphie appoarched the beetles.

Dim Shyly growled at Aphie. Maggie shyly hides behind Dim because she's not quite comfortable yet.

Rosie reassures Dim and Maggie.

King Flik comes over to pick up Aphie.

King Flik:" Now Aphie." What have we told you!"

Aphie whimpers.

King Flik:" Dim and Maggie are not comfortable with you yet, Gotta give them time!" Okay!"

Aphie nodded in agreement.

King Flik:" Thats a good boy!"

King Flik puts Aphie back in his pen.

King Flik:" Sorry about that !"

Rosie:" It's okay Flik honey!" No worries!"

King Flik and the other Circus Bugs hear Dim and Maggie purring because they're showing affection towards each other. While nudging each other gently with passion. Since Dim is a male and Maggie is a female rhinoceros beetles and both show more of animal like traits.

Everyone:" Awww!"

Rosie smiles.

Rosie:" Aww, Dim ! Maggie you two love bugs."

Slim:" They are perfect each other."

Heimlich:" Oohh!" Yah!" Wish I had someone for me!"

Slim:" Don't worry Heimlich there be someone out there for you someday!"

Heimlich:" Ooh so exciting!"

Francis:" Yeah if this keeps up, I'm pretty sure they'll end up on becoming more than just boyfriend and girlfriend."

Rosie:" It will take time Francis honey, Dim and Maggie are still very young and still to far out to even think about that for now there boyfriend and girlfriend!"

Molt:" Rosie is right, Dim and Maggie are only 17 !" We can Just let them be themselves!"

All the other bugs agreed.

—- later that day—-

Meanwhile The ants and the Circus Bugs are hanging out while at the harvest festival.

Some were playing games. Some trying out the bobbing for apples game.

Mr.Soil who was referring the games.

Mr Soil:" On your marks get set go!"

Those who were playing bobbing for apples in the water were King Flik, Princess Dot, Sapphire, Francis, Heimlich, Slim, Molt, Rosie, Dr.Flora and Tuck and Roll. While the rest were watching on the sidelines cheering them on.

Maggie shyly but surely was enjoying the harvest festival.

Maggie :" Go Miss Rosie!"This is very fun, isn't it Dim!"

Dim Shyly blushes and smiled.

Dim:" Dim likes parties!"Dim likes hanging out with you, Maggie!"

Maggie:" This is all very new to me!"

Dim Shyly listened to Maggie.

Dim:" Dim didn't know, That party is your first time , Maggie!"

Maggie :" It is!" It's just that I !"

Dim:" Maggie Gets nervous!"

Maggie:" Yes!" How did you know!"

Dim:" Dim gets nervous, Dim doesn't like an audience watching either."Dim understands how Maggie feels!"

Maggie :" Thank You for understanding Dim!"

Dim Shyly smiles.

Dim:" Your Welcome, Maggie!"

As Dim and Maggie nudged each other and purring showing love and affection for each other and then secretly kissed each other on the lips. And of course Tuck and Roll WHO were watching the two adolescent rhino beetles make love with each other. The pill bugs hatch an idea. Tuck whispers to Roll. Roll chuckled softly.

Tuck and Roll grabs two apple cider glasses ( full jugs) and they go above Dim and Maggie , Where they're standing. Tuck and Roll holds up the jugs and Roll gives the count down, and then they pour the apple cider all over them.

Dim and Maggie:" AAAAHHH!"

Dim and Maggie were covered in the apple cider and also it was very cold. Dim and Maggie both looked to see who did it.

Tuck and Roll:" You fired, Ahaha!"

Dim growled angrily showing ( I'm going beat the hell out of you two morons)

Maggie moaned. Maggie shyly but surely had the courage to make sense with the annoying pill bug brothers.

Maggie was annoyed.

Maggie:" That is not nice you two!" How would you like it if you got splashed on!"

Tuck and Roll pointed while laughing at them. Paying any no attention to them.

Maggie :" That is not very funny either you two are mean you know that come on Dim let's go!"

Dim growling annoyingly and snorting. And both Dim and Maggie walk away.

Right when Tuck and Roll continued laughing before than Dim who wasn't having none of it, Dim nailed them from behind big time. That sent both pill bugs thrown against the rock and both out cold.

Dim growled and Than walked away, with Maggie.

Both Maggie and Dim were obliviously covered in the sticky apple cider, Thanks to Tuck and Roll's pranksterish antics. Went to find Rosie.

Rosie saw they were covered in sticky stuff.

Rosie:" Oh my Dim , Maggie!"

Maggie:" Tuck and Roll was what happened, Miss Rosie!"

Dim:" Pill bugs splashed Dim and Maggie with apple cider, Dim don't like pillbugs Mom!"

Rosie felt bad for Dim and Maggie.

Rosie:" I'm sorry that happened to you, Dim ! Maggie let's find Flik or Atta see if they can cleaned up." Don't worry about the pillbugs I'll take care of them!"

Maggie:" Thank you Miss Rosie!"

Rosie:" No problem, Maggie honey!"

Rosie took Dim and Maggie to clean off the Apple cider juice that with no thanks to Tuck and Roll, Rosie notified The other bugs.

Queen Atta helped assist with getting Dim and Maggie cleaned off. Thankfully with the help of Queen Atta and Rosie, Dim and Maggie were cleaned.

—- later that night—-

As the time went by, It was was getting late and The Circus Bugs had to go back to Bugdom City. The ants and Circus Bugs said Goodnight to each-other even Ramona and Flika did as well. Even Sapphire told Dim and Maggie, Since Sapphire is now friends with Dim and Maggie. When the Circus Bugs left the ants turned in for the night.

King Flik and Queen Atta tucked In Princess Dot and Princess Flika in their beds.

Moments later, King Flik and Queen Atta went to bed and fell fast asleep.

Whew! I hope you liked this new A Bugs Life one shot I wrote! My favorite part was when The pill bugs are always creating mischief and pranked Dim and Maggie. I liked How Maggie stood up to them even though she was 20 times bigger than Tuck and Roll! I did like how Dim wasn't going to tolerate the pill bugs and he nailed them big time. LoL That's what Tuck and Roll get for messing around with Dim and Maggie, one of these days Dim and Maggie will get back at the Houdini Pill bugs for sure. I absolutely love Dim and Maggie. I would love to see Maggie make it as new character in A Bugs Life 2 or even A Bugs Life TV mini series for Disney plus, That would be awesome, I think it's about time Dim gets a rhinoceros beetle girlfriend. In my opinion.

Anyways! Hope you liked it I decided to make it into a fall themed a bugs life one shot since fall is coming and now what that means! Fall parties and next month is Halloween.
