"P43, you have a visitor," the nurse rouses 7 year old Harrison from his wall staring. Joe (T67) gives him a nod of encouragement. It must be the man Joe had written for him. He stretches as he gets up from the floor. These days it was hard for Harry to have motivation to do much outside of his school work.
Joe had only been here 3 months compared to Harry's near year. He called himself a wizard. A halfblood. His mother, a witch, had died leaving his father to send him away for being a freak. He was a rare wizard who could see magic. He told Harry he was a wizard too but had become an obscurus. Harry had doubts but odd thinks happening to or around him is what got Harry to this place in the first place. He too was a freak.
Either way though, him and Joe had become friends despite the age difference (Joe was about to be 11.) Joe wanted to wait till someone came for him to discuss this Hogwarts place but what he remembered of Obscurials, they die young. He liked Harry and saw he had some pretty powerful magic. It wasn't fair to the abused boy.
So, with Harry's permission, he wrote to his old neighbor. A squib named Marius Black.
Harry followed the nurse to the visitors room full of round park tables with benches. The man awaiting him looked pretty normal. Black hair, gray eyes, tall and well built for his older age.
"Hello Mr. Potter," they shake hands though Harry doesn't say anything. Not uncommon, the nurses had already warned the man. "Thank you for meeting me. Joe has already explained everything including how he ended up here. I've already contacted his great uncle to get him out very soon. Now... your situation. Mr. Potter... I'm aware you were placed with your non magical aunt and uncle who hate magic and abused you..." Harry just stares at him. "You should never have been placed with them in the first place. I've been investigating the situation and I believe I know someone who can help you with your magic and get you out of here without you going back to your relatives." Harry sits up straighter at this. He had not picked a fight being placed here originally because it meant getting away from the abuse and the cupboard. However, he didn't want to die either.
"His name is Newt Scamander. Older gent. Magizoologist. He's one of the rare few who had experience with Obscurials. I know you already know, obscurials rarely live to the age of 10, though there is history of some living longer before it the obscurus inside them kills them. I've read Mr. Scamsnders books on it. As you are alive and in better control of your obscurus from what Joe says, he might get a bit researchy with you as he helps you. I hope that doesn't make you uncomfortable. " Harry shakes his head.
With a promise to get to it immediately, Marius left the youth mental institution and Harry went back to his wall where he went back to his meditating where Joe joined him not long later.
Newt Scamander quickly slips through the British Ministery, making sure to buy be noticed. He had never enjoyed being here but he had no choice this time.
He sighs in relief to see the Head of the DMLE Amelia Bones was in. He had heard only good things about her and hoped she'd prove true a he needed her help with his latest project. Harrison James Potter. Heir of 4 houses. How he ended up in the muggle world, he'd never understand. Though he hoped Bones had summer answers.
"Mr. Scamander, what an honor. How can I help you?" The white haired woman watches quizzically a the magizoologist close her office door and place privacy wards around the room. "Important I see. Please, sit."
"What do you know of Harry Potter?" He jumps right in.
"Probably as much as anyone. He somehow took down You Know Who at only a year old and he was sent away to family though no one knows where as it was for his safety no one knew. " She thinks back. The Potter Heir/Hero was a discussion adjust nearly everyone every year, especially around Halloween.
"Safety is an understatement Madam Bones. Please, do you know who sent him to this family of his?"
"Albus Dumbledore. He's his magical guardian from what I know. I am yearly about the boy as the child hero had just seemed to disappear from out world. " A feeling of dread filled her as the wizard looked away in anger.
"Of course it was Albus. Not the man I once knew, I can definitely say...
I need this to remain confidential at the moment. I fear the worst if certain others learned what I know. " She agrees, even making a vow.
The more he talks, the paler and sicker she felt. Tears fell as she learned of the abuse the hero to the wizarding world went through. No one had been there for him. The research into all of it was quite impressive and reminded her often how she hated how squibs were outcasted from the world they were born into. Marius Black had learned things she hadn't even been able to find out.
After she was done working to control her emotions over the life of Harry Potter and his soon to be short life, she listened to the plan to get the child away from his current location without being found out. The plan to try to give him more odd a life in his now new short lifespan.
"Thank you for telling me Mr. Scamander. I'll do my part to assist." They shook hands and he left. She took a deep breath and let herself obsorb all this information. The plot Dumbledore had created... it was just...
It wouldn't be easy taking the man down. He was almost untouchable. But she can cause some chaos for him. Starting with a trip to Gringotts for Mr. Potter, and setting a trial for one Sirius Black.
Sirius stared out the window in Madam Bones's office. He was still wrapping his mind arrive the fact that he was free.
Months ago when Amelia had visited, he couldn't believe he was getting help. He was placed in a regular holding cell and set for treatment with a healer while she worked to get him a trial.
All he could think about was Harry. He had wanted to smirk at Dumbledore's frowning face when the Wizigamot had approved him claiming his rightful guardianship of his godson. He still had to wait to pick him up until the healers had approved him from his treatment but he didn't mind. Harry wasn't where Dumbledore thought he was. The fool.
A few more months. Just a few more months.
Harry smiles as he holds the ball of light hovering over his palm. His familiars were wrapped around him helping him stay stable.
It had been a good year since Newt Scamander and his wife Tina had used magic to get him out of that institution. He'd been staying with them in France ever since. Many test had been performed on him at the beginning. Some basic, done not. A soul piece had been removed from his scar which was now healed. His eyesight were perfect, his old broken bones removed and regrown. He still had scars but most were pretty face now. He still had weight to grow but he was in better shape than he was.
Queenie, Tina's sister had helped him on his journey to find his multiple familiar and feel his inner magical core. She knew where not to push when it came to his emotions.
He was more powerful than Joe had even realized. The more powerful the Obscurial, the more powerful his obscurus. Which is how he ended up with 6 familiars. A half kneezle, and 4 snakes, and a rare miniature dragon that was just smaller than the cat. The bonds between them helped him stay calm and remove excess magic that pours out of him.
Tina helped him with his education, Magical and muggle as Harry couldn't even read or count or write.
And Newt studied his obscurus. Luckily, his poking and proding didn't anger it. It didn't persieve him as a threat to Harry. By now they knew it was too late to attempt separating them. So the goal was to keep Harry's body from giving out and dying.
"Good job Harry! You are progressing quite nicely! Yes, we can go eat now, I think your godfather is coming today, " Queenie helps him up from the ground.
Harry still didn't really talk. He only did when he had to. Queenie understood and they usually just communicated thrugh his mind. The bonus of an his magic training was not only was his work wandless, but all completely wordless.
The walk from the field they practiced in to the house they lived in was quite the distance but the walk helped Harry's endurance which helped his magic. Sometimes he walked, sometimes he ran. Once in a while they allowed him to use a broom. He loved flying. He felt free from his problems in the sky.

"So... how bad is it?" Sirius fidgets in front of the Scamanders. He had been on their estate for 2 days now. He had not wanted to let Harry out of his sight. He'd already told him many stories of James and Lily. And he had watched him perform his magic.
"It's uncertain what she he will live up to but with the progess he is making, it's highly likely he will make it past his 10th birthday. Which is a very lucky thing. His obscurus is quite powerful. But Harry is strong willed and diligent in his training. With his magic now flowing, casualties should be minimal." Sirius nods as he listens. So there was hope.
"Will he be able to go to school?" He used to dream of sending Harry off to Hogwarts where he'd be sorted into Gryffindor and cause mischief much like he and James did.
"Maybe. Though I'm sorry to say with Dumbledore there, I wouldn't send Harry to Hogwarts. Friends would be great for him though. Socializing is beneficial to him learning to control his emotions. My suggestion would be to wait till his 10th birthday to discuss school. He's not the biggest talker and with him being a famous as he is, that might be overwhelming, especially in the beginning. Rolf has made friends with him already, maybe a few outings thrugh the next few years will be a good start."
"I can do that. I might even know a few others we can add to these trips."
Albus controls his frown as the 1991 sorting began. He did not see Harry Potter. He had hoped to re-get his hands on the boy upon him coming to Hogwarts but as he listened to the names, it was obvious he was not there. In fact, it was the shortest list yet.
A problem he was having were less and less first years were showing up and even a few students had left Hogwarts to go somewhere else.
He often wondered if he had made a mistake sending Harry to the Dursleys. He wouldn't have disappeared otherwise. But he still stood by his believe that it was the best thing to do. His plan had been flawless. But someone or ones were interfering. He side glances towards the DADA Professor Quirrell. Hmm.
He looks at the Gryffindor table. 2 girls, 3 boys new. Maybe he could at least make a new hero. He'd get a howler from Molly but her youngest son may just be the one.
1993
Harry and Rolf high fived as they took their last NEWTS. Having started their education so young, they had been excited to learn their exams could be taken years early. It gave Harry a sense of relief that something was crossed off his list.
The past years had been a whirlwind. They had to be as no one knew how long he'd live. It used to scare him. But the more knowledge he soaked up, the more he didn't let it stop him from not living life.
He had created a family here and made lots of friends thrugh the years through Sirius's connections. He didn't see them often, especially since they all turned 11 and majority stayed school. At least most were at Beauxbaton. Harry had decided to stay home. Rolf had gotten his parents to agree for him to do the same. They could study at their own pace and were always together when Sirius took them on adventures.
They made it to the Scamander estate and Harry ran up to his room to write his friends about him being finished. Susan, Neville, Hermione, the Patil Twins, Hannah, Mariella, Blaise, Mathis, Marcel, Phillipe, and Jasper were all waiting for his letters.
He also made sure to write Charlie. With his schooling finished, he could start his contract with the Dragon Reserve. Three months out of the year until he turned 17, he would be training and assisting with the Dragons as he was able to communicate with the beast using his parselmagic. The rest of the year would be spent earning his Masters in Charms and Magizoology.
"Ready to go out to celebrate?" Sirius appears at his door as his letters go out the window with 2 owls.
"Where to?" He grins.
"Rolf wants Japanese so Japan through Portkey is what I'm going with!" They laugh as they race down the stairs. Newt and Tina wave them off with request for sushi.
August 2023
Rolf squeezes Luna's hand as he stands and walks to the podium. While the service for Harry was only for those he was close to, a charm had been placed to show the service to the world as the wizarding world grieved their hero. Harry's story had come out in papers all over the world a week before as he took his last breaths. It had been one of his last wishes.
"Harry... Harry knew how to live life. A very rough start to his existence had left him almost a shell of a boy. He had become an obscurial after years of abuse. But while those who knew didn't help him, there were those who worked to save him. He may not have lived to have wrinkles or gray hair but he did make sure to live.
His NEWTS by his 13th birthday. Using his rare parselmagic to work with Dragons. Multiple Masters under his belt... building his own family. A loving just as stubborn wife," he smirks at the scoffing Hermione, "a brood of children who all seem to be a smart as their parents, even his first set of grandchildren.
He worked to leave behind a legacy worth talking about. Something he was proud of. He left behind stories for his children to continue. A bit of adventure and mischief.
He was my best friend. I hope we met in the next life and the life after because he was the best person I have ever known. A true free spirit.
Long live Harry!"
