"Arnold my man," said Gerald as he approached his friend at his locker early in the morning.

"Hey Gerald, how was your summer?" asked Arnold.

"Don't even ask, the whole trip my family took was crazy and I wish I could just forget the whole thing," said Gerald.

"But how did it go for you?" he asked.

"Went great, Helga and I went on a couple of dates and I even got to hang out with my parents quite a bit too," said Arnold while shutting his locker door.

"Still can't believe you're dating Helga," said Gerald.

"It's been a couple of years now, Gerald," said Arnold.

"You really need to get used to it," he said.

"Yeah, and she spent even longer bullying you and the rest of us so it's kind of difficult to do so," said Gerald.

"Hey, I've been trying to make up for all of that," said Helga while walking over.

"Sorry Helga, I'm still kind of worked up over the family vacation I went on and didn't mean anything by that," said Gerald.

"I know that you are trying your best," he said.

"At least you have a family to go on a vacation with," said Helga as she took hold of Arnold's hand.

"Shoot, I didn't…," said Gerald, but he was unable to say anything else.

"It's okay, I get what you meant," said Helga.

"Besides, it's not like I had a family even before my parents went to jail for everything they had done so it's not like I'm missing out on anything in the first place," she said.

"You still have your sister though," said Arnold.

"Yeah, but now she hates me, I don't even know when the last time she talked to me was," said Helga before kissing Arnold's cheek and heading off to class.

"Seriously, I don't think I can get used to her like that," said Gerald once Helga was out of earshot.

"Well try, alright; she has done her best to change in the last few years, but I'm afraid it's not all good for her," said Arnold with a worried expression.

"You got it bro," said Gerald before they started walking away.
