Topic: Extended Server Maintenance

In: Boards SAB Announcements

Edition (Original Poster) (Verified Cape) (Verified PreCog) (SAB Queen)

Posted On Feb 21st 2011:

Greetings Subscriber,

The Subscription Access Board will be brought down for extended server maintenance at 5:00 AM EST on Tuesday, February 22nd. ToyboxIT will be working to get SAB back up and running as quickly as possible.

We estimate that it could take as long as 12 hours to complete this maintenance. Also, be advised that SAB component features, such as Direct Private Messaging, will not be accessible during this time.

Everyone at SAB strives to ensure the best possible user experience, and we apologize for this inconvenience. In order to compensate for this delay, all yearly and monthly subscribers will receive one additional paid post for the month of February.

We hope you continue to use SAB as your preferred precognitive press provider.

Sincerely,

Edition

We hope this improves your SAB experience and wish you a wonderful day.

THINKER-OFF!

Edition v. the field.

Who wins?

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Ha! Edition all the way.

She would see any attack coming and counter it!

BlueBerries_Are_Best_Berries

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Wait, when you say the field, do you mean all other Thinkers combined?

Cause, yeah, sheer numbers bro.

Noveltry

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Edition for the win!

No one comes close.

Acree

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Are you including Trumps like Eidolon in this? Cause Eidolon could have a Thinker power if he wanted.

bothad

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

No one has an I-win button. Pretty sure if every thinker on the planet teamed up, Edition is going down.

Xyloloup

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

@BlueBerries, let's not turn this into another Eidolon jerk off thread. We all know where that leads.

Terminal

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Scion has all the powers and would kick her ass.

Divide (Original Poster)

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Okay, no Scion and no Eidolon like trumps.

Just talking about pure Thinkers.

GstringGirl

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

I'll take Edition!

Aloha

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

The field.

When it's like 1000 parahumans against 1, I'm not gona take the one unless that person is Scion or Eidolon.

Chilldrizzle

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Edition is probably the strongest Thinker on record - Ziz excluded - but I'm still going with the field. Who knows how her power might react to that all those other parahumans.

Bagrat (Veteran Member) (The Guy in the Know)

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Edition isn't some ultimate Thinker, Divide.

The only reason she's so deified on PHO is that she's public with her powers and everyone here wants to be on SAB.

When pitted against other high-level Thinkers tho, she is considerably less impressive. If The Protectorate turned Watchdog on her, she'd go down hard.

Forgotten Creator

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

I can't image any Thinker wanting to go against Edition. She's like crazy strong.

Coyote-C

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

So, are we talking Edition herself? Or all the people that would probably jump in to help her?

Cause, I'm pretty sure there's a lot of Heroes, Rogues, Villains, and god knows how many corporations who enjoy hearing the future every day.

Space Zombie

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Oh, snap. I didn't think about that @Cayote-C.

Edition. All my monies on Edition. Don't fuck with corporate America folks!

Ekul

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Yeah, if we are taking into account all the people Edition could call for help (Toybox anyone?), then I am backing her.

Divide (Original Poster)

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

I wasn't really thinking about all that.

Just Edition v. Other Thinkers.

Dodge (Toybox)

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Edition!

Because Edition is awesome!

Noveltry

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

The field.

The answer is always the field in these threads guys.

Normal_Man! (Not a Cape)

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Ohhhh snap! First cape in the house!

What up Dodge!

Antigone

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

If Eidolon is in play, not Edition.

If Eidolon not in play, still not Edition!

All_Seeing_Eye

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Other thinkers are pretty awesome.

But not sure I want to bet against the all-seeing precog!

Ne

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Ha! The field.

Verminator

Replied On Feb 3rd 2011:

Edition and I'll tell you why:

ANY Other Thinker: "So, I have decided, I will kill Edition!"

Boooom*

Yesterday.

Edition: "Well, looks like I need to acquire a missile to kill an uppity Thinker."

Morgan Sinister

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

@Nod, Edition almost certainly has some kind of limit to her powers. If she saw the future for like weeks and weeks and weeks ahead of time, she would probably be a zombie.

Chrome

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

I agree, no one is all powerful. Edition probably has some flaw. We just don't know what it is.

Brilliger (Moderator: Protectorate Main)

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

As a reminder, this is a versus thread.

Take all conversations that revolve solely around her power mechanics over to her discussion thread.

And for the record, I'm taking the field.

The Field

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

The Field always takes the field!

Groupies

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

I think I'm going with the field. All it takes is one weird power interaction and Edition could be in trouble!

Logs

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

The fact that we are even having this discussion shows how ridiculously strong Edition even is.

I think the only other vs. the field threads this long are Eidolon and Scion.

Lasersmile

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Edition. She would see it coming in advance and just take them out.

Iblis

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Probably the field, but it would be closer than I think a lot of people are willing to admit.

Nondeceptive

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Better question, who is the next strongest pure Thinker around?

I was thinking (pun not intended) that it would probably be someone we've never even heard of. Strong Thinkers probably survive longer by flying under the radar.

Divide (Original Poster)

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Tell that to Accord.

Bagrat (Veteran Member) (The Guy in the Know)

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Wasn't there a member of the S9 that was a Thinker? Like the original S9?

bothad

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

I think you are thinking of Crane the Harmonious, Bagrat.

And yeah, the second strongest Thinker is probably someone we've never even heard of.

Loyal

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Ohhh, I forgot about Crane.

If she could get to Edition, she'd probably end her.

Aloha

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

rolls eyes*

Obviously. The problem is GETTING to Edition.

Ghoul

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

The problem with this matchup is we just don't know who a lot of super strong Thinkers are.

Sure, Accord is a badass, yeah, there are some nasty villains out there, but the Protectorate doesn't disclose their strongest Thinkers. The Watchdog roster is all classified.

Robby

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Right and from the Thinkers we know about, I'm sticking with Edition.

Invisible

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Again, is the question Edition v. ALL OTHER THINKERS? Or is the question Edition v. any one other Thinker?

Cause, I'd take 1000 parahumans over 1 every time. But 1 on 1, my money is on Edition.

BlankSpace

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Who cares, it's PHO! Arguing over innocuous points is all that truly matters!

Ultracut

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Edition.

Second someone finds out she's in trouble, bunch of nasty folks will come out of the woodwork to help her.

ArchmageEin

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Right, but I don't think that's the question. It's just powers v. powers, right?

Mr. Terrible

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

If it's just powers v. powers, then how would Edition ever win?

Even Uber would totally kick her ass in an actual fight, the only question would be if Uber could find her.

So Edition can't win, just evade the fight.

Bagrat (Veteran Member) (The Guy in the Know)

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

That's exactly what I've been saying!

Edition doesn't win fights. She avoids them. If a Watchdog thinker told a PRT strike squad where to find her, she's done.

Iblis

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Eh, I think you're underselling what she could do knowing that someone was going to attack her, Bagrat.

Brocktonite03 (Veteran Member)

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

Let's make this an actual versus thread rather than snip at each other.

Edition v. [insert other Thinker's name].

If you say Edition wins, say against who. B/c otherwise wtf are we even doing here?

XxVoid_CowboyxX

Replied On Feb 8th 2011:

There is so much shitposting in this thread already that I literally have nothing to say.

I'll vote for Edition anyway. Brockton Bay for the win!
