A/N: Hello, readers! I've just started a new fanfiction that I am excited about. I just finished up the first part of the "Skywalker Twins", I suggest that you go check that out. Anyways, this story is basically a prequel to Transformers: Prime; how Optimus Prime, Elita One, and Megatron meet and become who they are. I hope you all enjoy. God Bless!

Disclaimer: I DO NOT own Transformers.

It was just like any other day at the Iacon Hall of Records. Orion Pax was continuing his studies on the history of Cybertron, which he usually does when the Hall is not so busy. Anyway, since he was so focused on his reading he didn't notice someone coming up behind him until he felt them tap his shoulder along with a feminine voice trying to get his attention. "Excuse me?"

Since he was a clerk at the Hall of Records, he was used to bots coming to him for assistance when they couldn't find what they were looking for. So, without thinking twice about it he began turning around as he inquired, "Yes, how can I help you?" However, upon seeing who it was that addressed him he had to do a double take to make sure that he wasn't imagining it; out of all the femmes on Cybertron to approach him it had to be her.

He has seen her numerous times throughout these halls either speaking to Alpha Trion or going through the archives, but never had he actually spoken to her. He can still remember the first time he had ever laid optics on her.

It was shortly after he began working at the Hall of Records as the unofficial apprentice to Alpha Trion, Cybertron's head archivist, as well as the oldest and wisest mech on the face of the planet. Furthermore, the position also entailed that he'd be somewhat of an assistant to Alpha Trion.

In fact, that is the reason why he was heading over to Alpha Trion's office at this moment. He was on his way to down there to remind his mentor of a council meeting that was convening this afternoon. When he reached his destination, though, he didn't think think to knock on the door to announce himself; he just thought that Alpha Trion was engrossed in some ancient text like he usually was. "Forgive the intrusion, Alpha Trion, but-", he began to say as stepped foot into the room but stopped upon seeing what was in front of him.

There before him, standing right next to his mentor, was the most beautiful femme that he had ever seen. Her frame glistened like the most polished chrome and had curves in all the right places., her armor a lovely shade of violet, and her beautiful blue optics were like two twinkling stars.

Orion Pax was so captivated that he did not realize that he was staring until he heard Alpha Trion clear his throat. Hearing the noise caused the young mech shake his to bring himself back to the present, only to then see a slightly annoyed Alpha Trion and amused femme.

"Yes, Orion, you were saying?", Alpha Trion prompted.

Momentarily dumbfounded, Orion then remembered why he had come to mentor's office in the first place. "Forgive me, Alpha Trion, I did not realize that you had company," inclining his head to the femme, "but you wanted me to remind you of your meeting with the High Council this afternoon."

"Well, I guess that's my cue to leave," the mysterious femme said. She then turned to Alpha Trion, placed a hand on his shoulder, and stood on the tips of her feet to give a kiss on the cheek. "I'll see you later."

Alpha Trion chuckled as he gave her a side hug, patting her on the shoulder, in return for the display of affection. "I will you soon, my dear."

As the femme was passing Orion on her way out she said to him, "Have a good day, Orion."

He acknowledged her by nodding his head and saying, "And to you as well." It was only after she turned the conner did he dare to speak again. "Alpha Trion, if I may ask, who was that femme?", he asked turning to his teacher.

Alpha Trion sighed deeply before speaking. "If you must know her name is Ariel."

After hearing her name Orion Pax looked down the hall that she went and repeated to himself. "Ariel."

Alpha Trion, once again, cleared his throat to gain the attention of his protégé. "Thank you, Orion, for reminding me of my meeting but you best get back to work. You still have much to do before you are done for the day."

Bringing himself back to the present, he saw her chuckle with a small smile gracing her face; apparently she remembered that moment as well.

"I'm Ariel," she introduced herself reaching out her servo for him to shake.

Still surprised that he was actually talking to her he shook her hand and replied, "Orion Pax. It's nice to finally meet you."

This caused to her to smirk. "Same here."

"So, Ariel, how may I help you?"

"Well, I am looking for information on the Gladiator fights over at Kaon Colosseum, but I'm not sure where to look."

Orion's face began to morph into a concentrated look, while wondering why she would be interested in a subject like that. "Well, that depends; are you looking for information on the history of the fights, battle tactics, or the structure of the colosseum itself?"

"All of the above," she answered shrugging sheepishly. "You see, they just noncovered some tunnels in the lower levels of the colosseum and there's an excavation coming up, so I would like to gather as much intel as I can before then."

"Ah," he nodded finally understanding. "You're an archeologist."

"Well, more like a junior archeologist," Ariel replied. I'm still trying to earn my stripes, you know?"

"Yes, I do," Orion smiled. "Follow me, I know just where to look."

"Thanks," she sighed in relief as she began to follow him. "You're a life saver."

This caused Orion Pax to chuckle and grin. "Don't mention it."

"Hey, if you don't mind my asking, what were you reading just then?"

The clerk was hesitant for a moment before answering, not many Cybertronians were interested in what he did. "I was reading about the formation of Cybertron's caste system."

"Oh, yes," Ariel said, dismayed. "Before the Golden Age of Cybertron bots were forced to work the energon mines as slaves. They began to riot demanding that they were treated better and paid for their efforts. In order to avoid a revolution the world's leaders agreed to their terms, developing the caste system so that they can stay in power."

"You know your history," Orion told her impressed.

"Have to. It's kind of part of the job description," she shrugged jokingly.

Orion laughed at that. "I suppose it is. Well, here you go. That should be everything you need to know about the gladiator fights." He handed her the needed data pads and then rested his hands on his hips.

"Thanks again," Ariel said smiling while accepting them. "You know, this was nice. It's been awhile since I enjoyed talking about this. We should do this again sometime."

"I enjoy talking to you too," Orion replied returning the smile. He has never felt this way before, sure he has spoken to other femmes before, but he never felt anything towards them. So, for the first time in his life, Orion decided to act on impulse. "I am off work tomorrow. If you have time, there is a place that I know that serves that best energon."

"Oh, are you talking about Mccadam's?"

"That's the place," he nodded.

Ariel didn't speak for a few moments after that, trying to decide if she should take him up on his offer or not. Figuring that she would say no, Orion was about to tell her that didn't have to if she did not want to when she spoke up. "I would like that," she said surprising him. "I'm free tomorrow evening, if that is alright with you."

Trying to hide his excitement Orion replied, "Tomorrow evening is prefect."

"Great!", Ariel exclaimed excitedly. "Um, we can meet up front of the Hall of Records and walk there together. How does that sound?"

"Perfect," was his only answer.

"It's a date then. I'll see you tomorrow, Orion. And thanks again for your help," she told him as she turned around and began to leave.

"You're welcome," he smiled waving her goodbye. However, it was only after she left his sight did he realize something. "Wait, a date? Did I just ask her out on a date?'
