Chapter 489 Launch

Bubblegum continued her training and helped fix up her Battle Ready Armor as well as the vehicle that would transport her and a team of others around Ooo. The vehicle that had been constructed for the task looked like a weird mix between a train, a tour bus, and a RV and had been given the name the Omini Transport. It was grey in color with blue markings on the side with eight powerful wheels and could house and transport a couple dozen people. The Omini Transport was capable of going on any terrain as well as capable of flying and going underwater. It came with beds, was stocked with food, water, and state of the art equipment for defense and offense. The Omini Transport was a work of engineering genius created by Bubblegum, Neddy, Chicle, Peridot, and G2.
Bubblegum's training had come a long way as she improved in both her Elemental Power and physical training. Her body had become a bit more toned and she put on a bit more muscle mass. Bubblegum's Elemental power had increased and she became better with as she finally managed to fend off X's advances during training and managed to push him back. X was a bit impressed and their was a tiny spark of respect in his eyes as he finally gave Bubblegum come compliments and said she was ready to stand against the world outside.
The training with Mara was still hard, but Bubblegum had managed to increase her combat skills and though she had never succeed in pinning Mara to the ground, she was able to hold out for several minutes against the skilled fighter, which Mara said was really impressive.
The team that would be accompanying Bubblegum around Ooo, would be made of Simon, Neddy, Chicle, Serenity, X, O, Mara, Marceline, Lucinda, Henry, Peridot, Lapis, and Django. It was a mix of some of the brightest minds and most powerful warriors from Sanctuary. There were a few other considerations, but Simon didn't want to take too many powerful people on the trip, since he didn't want to weaken Sanctuary's defenses and draw too much attention to the little team that was setting out on the mission.
Lance and Marceline's children and Henry and Lucinda's children were a bit disappointed that they weren't going on the mission, but their parents assured them that they had an important duty to preform to help the mission be a success and they needed to stay behind to defend Sanctuary.
Sanctuary had cameras and various magical devices stationed around the boarders to keep a eye on things and the devices had picked up a large number of enemies around the boarder that seemed to be lead by Matilda. The crazed angel had a large group of Cheese Ninjas, Pistachions, Pluckberrirs, Cake People, Nagas, spiders, gnomes, puppets, dinosaurs, bears, ants, rats, worms, monkeys, and a few special mercenaries among the group. The special mercenaries seemed to consist of Stag, Stag Man, Deerius, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Knife Man, Swamp Giant, Bucket Knight, and Math Homework Man.
Matilda was determined to accomplish her new holy mission of destroy Bubblegum to safeguard the future and empire of Gumbaldia and she gave a big speech to the forces gathered around her.
"Hear me, my followers for soon the vial enemy will leave the safety of this place we can not enter in attempt to ruin our empire and our world. We have been given the holy task to destroy her and prevent that from happening. We are the chosen hand of justice who will smite this wicked person from this world and all those, who would dare protect her. We shall be victorious!"
The gathered crowd cheered at this.
A few hundred yards away on a hill, the Green Knight along with a Topiary Bush Dragon, Sir Slicer, Bandit Princess who now went by the title and name Bandit Queen, and Mochio watched Matilda work the gathered forces in a frenzy. Sir Slicer, Bandit Queen, and Mochio looked like they did from the past though there were some slight differences with Sir Slicer and Bandit Queen.
Sir Slicer carried a gold colored sword called the Sword of Swanstantine. It had a blue gemstone in the hilt and the hand guard resembled a swan with it's wings stretching out. Sir Slicer also wore a gold amulet with a green gemstone in that resembled a reptile's eye called the Amulet of Aragon.
Bandit Queen carried a large purple broadsword with runes along it called the the Sword of Dark Fire. She also wore a Amulet of Aragon around her neck.
"Why did we put that idiot in charge of the troops down there? She's making a big show of herself and we all know she's most likely to fail even with all those troops backing her up." Said Bandit Queen.
Patience my dear. Let the fools locate and wear our enemies down, while we observe what we're dealing with. We have agents stationed all around the boarder, so we're bound to see something." Said Sir Slicer.
"I guess you're right. It will be entertaining to see those fools fail, who knows maybe they might actually kill or injure someone important." Said Bandit Queen.
"That's the spirit." Said Sir Slicer as they continued to watch.
Inside Sanctuary final preps and goodbyes were being made. Bubblegum, Neddy, Chicle, and Simon were saying goodbye to Eria, Betty, Lolly, Nora, and Ezra.
"Now you be careful out there." Said Eria.
"I will be." Said Neddy."A part of me thinks I should go instead of you or come with you." Said Eria."I get that. You're one of our best warriors, but I feel better knowing you're here protecting our home and children. We also need you to put on a good distraction for our unwanted guests at the boarder." Said Neddy."I guess you have a point. I can also understand you want to go and protect your mom, after what happened to your father." Said Eria."
Thank you for understanding. I don't think I would have recovered from his death, if you weren't in my life." Said Neddy with a smile.
Eria smiled back and the two kissed. Neddy turned his attention to his two children as he bent down and hugged both of them. Eria turned her attention to Simon, Marceline, Lucinda, Lance, and Henry.
"You all be careful out there. What you're doing is dangerous and Gumbald is going to throw everything he has at you, plus we don't know who else might be lurking in the shadows ready to spring some kind of messed up trap." Said Eria.
"Don't sweat it sis. We can handle this." Said Marceline.
"Now you be careful out there Chicle. I know you're tough and smart, but don't push yourself to try and stick it to your father. Look after your cousin." Said Lolly.
"Don't worry mom, I'll be careful and I'll be sure to watch Bubblegum's back." Said Chicle as he hugged Lolly.
"This will be a challenging mission, but I feel like we have the right people for the job. We will succeed and make Ooo a better place for the future and the children." Said Simon as he gave Eria a hug.
"So how exactly are you going to distract the troops outside?" Asked Bubblegum.
"Leave that to us." Said Eria as she stood alongside Mavis, Marcus, Noah, and Lilly.
On the boarder all the troops were either on high alert or just casually hanging out as Matilda sat in a chair waiting for the enemy to show themselves so they could spring into action. A Cheese Ninja with a telescope who was looking to the far right saw movement as six cloaked figures passed through the magical barrier.
"We got movement over there!" Yelled the Cheese Ninja.
"All forces move out! Our moment has finally arrived!" Yelled Matilda standing up.
The gathered forces rushed forward with a mighty yell as they raced towards the six hooded figures. One of the cloaked figures placed her palms on the ground and a large area of the ground suddenly became frozen and sleek with ice! The charging troops began to slip and slide on the ice crashing onto their backs or into each other. The hood figure then turned the ice into water and two of the other figures pointed their hands at the water taking control of it and making it rise up and pick up the downed troops. The water formed a large wave and it carried the troops and slammed them into more of their comrades. Before any of them could recover two more of the hood figures stepped forward and fired lightning and electrocuted the troops knocking a large portion of them out.
This action seemed to really discourage a large amount of the troops that still remained and we're capable of fighting, especially when five of the figures removed their hoods to reveal Eria, Mavis, Marcus, Noah, and Lilly, which angered Matilda.
"Show some backbone! These are nothing more then children sent to fight us! One is a ice brat, two are hell spawn, and two are the children of a traitor angel! We are the forces of justice and we will crush whoever gets in our way! These fools must be defending the one we seek, so destroy them all by any means!" Yelled Matilda.
"Oh good grief. Lady you have serious issues and your so called sense of justice is really messed up if you think what you're talking about and plan to do is nobel in any way." Said Eria.
"Yeah take a chill pill." Said Noah.
"Silence! I will not have you fools insult or degrade me! For too long both you and your parents have been a thorn in my side, but today I will put an end to you, right after I kill the one you're trying to protect!" Said Matilda.
"This lady really likes to hear herself talk." Said Mavis.
"Seems that way." Said Marcus.
"I can fully understand, why mom knocked her senseless a couple of times several years ago." Said Lilly.
"You remove your hood, so we may see your face!" Ordered Matilda to the sixth figure, who had yet to remove her hood.
Eria nodded to the figure and they removed their hood to reveal Bubblegum. All of the troops focused on Bubblegum as Matilda suddenly produced what appeared to be a flare gun and fire a flare into the air alerting all the other troops around the boarder and they began to rush to her aid. Matilda laughed as more troops joined her forces to go after Bubblegum and her protectors.
"You fools stand no chance against us!" Declared Matilda.
"You're the ones who are about to feel very foolish here." Said Mavis as she cracked her knuckles.
Bucket Knight poured a bucket of water on himself making himself grow bigger, Math Homework Man used his powers to give himself four more arms, Spaghetti and Meatballs pulled out what appeared to be a salt shaker and sprinkled some salt onto his meatball hands, Swamp Giant pulled out a whip with spikes, Knife Man prepared his laser gun, Stag, Stag Man, and Derrius pulled out some bow and arrows. The rest of the gathered troops spread out to surround Bubblegum and her guardians as Matilda pulled out a sword.
"Get them! I want their heads!" Yelled Matilda.
The gathered forces charged forward and Eria used her powers to conjure up several snowmen and snow golems that met the charging enemies and chaos broke out. Knife Man zapped and melted several of the snowmen and snow golems, before Noah suddenly picked him up and began to swing the giant knife like a club smashing and slicing several enemies with Knife Man. Math Homework Man threw exploding numbers from his body at Noah, but he swatted them all back at the villain and they exploded knocking Man Homework Man to the ground in a heap. Swamp Giant tried to get at Bubblegum with his whip, but Eria sliced it to bits with a ice katana, before she blasted Swamp Giant with an ice blast and froze him. Spaghetti and Meatballs swung his big meatball fists at Mavis, who dodged the attacks and caught a weird smell coming from the meatball fists.
"Garlic salt?" Asked Mavis.
Spaghetti and Meatballs nodded his heads and chuckled at his cleverness to use a weakness of vampires.
"Clever, but you forget I have my dad's powers as well as my mom's powers." Said Mavis as her hands crackled with electricity.
"Oh..." Said Spaghetti and Meatballs right before he was zapped with lightning making him yell in pain before collapsing to the ground in a heap onto some of his allies.
Marcus was dodging some giant attacks from Bucket Knife, before he blasted the big knight with lightning making him collapse onto some more troops. Stag, Stag Man, and Derrius fired some arrows at Bubblegum, but Eria knocked them out of the air with a gust of ice wind and then Lilly appeared in front of the trio giving them a mischievous smile before she transformed into a hulking white furred werewolf and roared right in their faces. Stag, Stag Man, and Derrius screamed in absolute primal terror as they dropped their bows and took off running. Lilly returned to her normal form and laughed before she blasted some enemy troopers with water blasts. The battle wasn't going well for Matilda's forces.
"Stop losing you idiots!" Screamed Matilda at her forces.
Matilda gripped her sword tightly in rage as she sprouted her wings and decided to take maters into her own hands. She flew forward towards Bubblegum and thruster her sword into Bubblegum's chest! There was a moment of satisfaction for Matilda that quickly vanished as Bubblegum exploded into a pile of snow!
"A fake?!" Sputtered Matilda in disbelief.
"Yep. We told you were going to feel very foolish about this." Said Eria with a smirk.
Matilda screamed in rage as she tried to attack Eria with her sword, but Eria sent her flying with a gale of freezing wind. All the troops watched as Matilda was sent spinning and flying into the distance before vanishing from sight.
"Anyone else care to still fight?" Asked Mavis as her hands crackled with energy and Noah dropped a battered and groaning Knife Man to the ground.
The troops exchanged nervous glances with each other. Their target wasn't here and they had lost their group leader, so there really wasn't any point in sticking around the place to fight. The troops then quickly turned and retreated from the area taking their wounded with them as Green Knight, Sire Slicer, Bandit Queen, Mochio, and the Topiray Bush Dragon watched the whole scene. Eria, Mavis, Marcus, Lilly, and Noah headed back into Sanctuary.
"A bit of waste of time, though it was entertaining." Said Bandit Queen.
"This was a distraction." Said Green Knight.
"It was, for the troops and for us. Right now Bubblegum and her real guardians are most likely on their way to another part of Ooo to recruit an army to stand against us." Said Sir Slicer as he glanced up at the sky above as something flew up.
"What's that thing heading up?" Asked Bandit Queen.
"I believe that is our prey and if I had to make a guess of where they were going, it would most likely be heading to the Cloud Kingdom to ask for their help." Said Ser Slicer.
"Well what are we waiting for? Let's go after them!" Said Bandit Queen.
"Let me make a couple of quick calls to some of our allies to assist us, after all the Cloud Kingdom is very dangerous and I doubt they'll just simply let us in to kill Bubblegum." Said Sir Slicer as he pulled out a communication crystal and made a few calls.
After that was done Sir Slicer and Bandit Queen used their Amulets of Aragon to transform themselves into dragons. Sir Slicer became a large black and purple dragon that wore the amulet around his neck and Bandit Queen turned into a large blue dragon with the amulet around her neck. The two dragons took off into the sky and Green Knight and Mochio jumped onto the Topiary Bush Dragon and flew after them.
Up above the Omini Transport had wings on it's side and rockets on it's back as it flew to it's first destination the Cloud Kingdom.
