Hello everyone! A new chapter is out that brings us the conclusion of Selina's narration! Having heard my life being narrated numerous times by my mother to random curious taxi drivers, who did not shut it unless they learned "why the kid doesn't walk?" (you know, that annoying habit some people have talking about you in third person while you're present)... I can only imagine how psychologically drained Selina would feel to narrate her entire life in detail 😫! You do get used to listening to it, after a while, but still... so annoying 😒. Anyway, Selina's past finally meets her present and... what does the future hold? Who knows? 😁
I want to thank Paturic, FemmeFatale0304, Hpmlbmangas and franciscaamaya22 for joining my little corner of internet I hope to fill with many many stories. Thank you so much people! You and everyone else have helped in reaching almost 6500 views! Wow! Wow! WOW!

Chapter 40: The Tutor, The Mission of a Life
"What are you? A stalker?" The young Earl asked his demon butler, listening to his lover's drama with a satisfied smile on his lips.
"My lord, it may seem that way, but I am sure I must have a very good reason for acting like that in the future and… forgive me for my impudence to speak so boldly, but… I am of the opinion that having Miss Clark here with us now, is quite a good reason for everything I will do to guarantee her presence here, right my dear?"
Sebastian glanced at where Selina sat, her fingers clutching strongly at her skirt. She looked quite pale and tired, rubbing at her forehead. An angry scowl adorned her face, as she obviously berated herself for not making all these connections between the strange man in the zoo, demon doctor, demon saviour and demon butler.
Yes, most probably a spell had been cast on her to forget him and she never opened her eyes to see whose was the embrace comforting her when needed, - she did not want to know for certain and be unable to kill him, if they ever crossed paths under different circumstances; she did not want to know who was the only demon she felt she could never harm - but the last occurrence... If anything, she should remember the leather high heel boots that made her drool, quite literally, when watching the young Earl's past.
It surprised her beyond words that the demon always close to her in the past would be the same she was bound to as a mate, unless he decided otherwise. She never imagined the gratitude she felt in the past and the feelings she now had would both aim the same demon. For a moment, she felt dizzy and her stomach turning but her master's voice made her return to reality.
"Do not say it like that! It sounds like you would even kill her family to have her come here… not that you would hesitate doing something like that."
"Certainly, my lord… if I wanted to feel her burning hate, that is. But I assure you it is quite bothersome having a human hate me, even more when that human is the holder of such a dangerous and lethal to me magical power. I, as the Phantomhive butler, would never allow myself to perish and leave my lord alone when Miss Clark's fury would have turned me to cinders; therefore, I promise to never harm the humans surrounding Miss Clark… Either way, humans are perfectly capable of killing each other that make demons seem like… angels." Sebastian chuckled with the irony of his words.
Ciel made a gurgling sound, like he was about to vomit upon hearing his smart-ass demon, and then ordered him to shut it and listen to the rest of Selina's life. Selina had not uttered a word all the while the exchange had taken place - her vocal chords felt squeezed together blocking all sounds to come out of her mouth - but now, with a few deep breaths to push back some uninvited tears, she went on in a little wavering and croaky voice.
{~}
"Please, I beg you to not be so provocative towards Mr. Spears; he is already fuming because you wasted all the chances he gave you. He says he had warned you." Miranda informed Selina as the two were crossing a hallway towards the Chief Reaper's office in the British headquarters.
"Yes, he did, but I never promised I would listen." Selina responded coldly, buttoning up her jacket that completed her black suit, making her look like a serious businesswoman heading for a meeting... as a certain reaper had demanded of her.
"There is no chance of regretting it, is there?" Miranda sighed as the only response she received was a shaking of head from Selina. "In that case, I won't be able to help you, whatever punishment he has in store."
"It's okay, I knew this would happen." Selina smiled lightly at her worried cousin.
They entered the big office, which seemed rather small since there were quite a few reapers standing around and their leader, William T. Spears, seated behind his desk with chartreuse eyes burning furiously as soon as they spotted the black haired witch entering the room.
"Look who is here… the rebellious witch, who thinks is God and decides who lives and who dies." He mocked her and his usually calm and monotonous voice was filled with anger.
"No, I am not God. I always liked the "eye for an eye" theory, so when humans decide to harm the ones I love, harm me and humiliate me, when they don't even know me, I simply put it in practice." Selina said casually as she sat in the chair in front of the desk and crossed her legs. "Will you please leave the lecture aside and go on to the main part?" She had the audacity to look a little bored.
William stood up slowly and leaned over her with palms on desk. "You can always repent, this is a perfect time to do that and I will instantly change the punishment to something lighter." He said behind clenched teeth, but sighed when Selina shook her head obviously not willing to do as he asked. "Damn you, will you not ever forgive and forget-"
"Will you ever forgive and forget the people that might have pushed you in taking your own life?" Selina answered and her eyes never left his, looking at him coldly and harshly, making the reaper unable to answer but clench his teeth more.
An excited sound from the side disrupted the heaviness of the atmosphere. "Oh! I give her that. She looks so cruel and relentless, just like my Sebby! Especially when she kills… but still, my darling is the best!" An effeminate voice said and Selina's eyes caught a red movement at the side.
She looked and saw a reaper with long red hair, red glasses on, red high heels and wrapped in a red coat obviously of a previous century and that of a woman's. The reaper was shaking and wiggling with excitement, revealing shark like teeth while lost in a fantasy.
"What is that thing?" Selina asked with a confused look on her face, the same time another voice coming from a younger reaper, standing next to the red thing, was trying to calm down his superior.
"Please, do not pay attention to that. You will find out in time." William sighed and his discomfort was quite visible. "Let us get back to our issue… Will you repent or regret for killing these humans?"
"No! I have already made myself clear on that, so go on with your punishment, stop paying me or something and be done with it!"
William T. Spears chuckled for the first time… maybe ever. "Do you think it will be that easy?" He nodded to the rest of the reapers and they immediately started closing in to Selina; that seemed to alarm her, as well as Miranda standing at a corner. "Do not dare burning anyone, because then you will be terminated once and for all in a way not pleasant at all." He warned her.
Before Selina could answer, two reapers had grabbed her, already removed her jacket and pulled her shirt's sleeves up, exposing her wrists and forearms. Her instinct kicked in and started struggling, her eyes turned to blue flames and it was a matter of seconds for her flames to burst from her body, when she suddenly felt a leather collar being strapped on her throat,
"What the fuck?" She yelled.
"I knew you would not listen... not even if I threatened you, so I was prepared. The collar negates your powers for a while and will allow us to do our work." William said coldly as the reapers pushed her, face down, on the desk stretching her forearms to him.
Two more reapers appeared by his side, holding a tattooing needle each and began making a tattoo on her wrists, completely surrounding them with vine-like designs. The problem was that whatever these needles injected in her was not simple ink in her skin, but something more that made her scream and cry out, as it felt like the slowly forming seal was actually carved on her bones. The pain was excruciating and Selina tried to fight, even kicked the chair in which she was previously seating, but in vain.
Miranda was in tears and wanted to stop all that, but could not as the fiery reaper, whose eyes had a little dangerous gleam, had suddenly appeared beside her, locked her in a tight embrace and leather dressed fingers were running through her red locks that were "so beautiful and scarlet just as she liked them". When the tattoos were done, William took one of the needles and called a name, that of the younger reaper who previously was with the red haired one.
"Do I have to, Mr. Spears? Mr. Sutcliff is my superior and next in rank, after you, He should do it." The young reaper complained scratching the back of his neck obviously not pleased with what they asked him to do.
"Me, binding my beautiful self to that infuriating woman and giving her part of my extraordinary charm and power, to wrap my dear Sebby around her little finger easier? Never!" The red haired screeched, clearly horrified, perhaps even disgusted, by the idea.
"Ronald Knox, you have been part of this story from the beginning so..." William demanded from the young reaper that as a response ran a hand through his half blond half black hair thinking it over, and after sighing deeply, moved to William's side and took hold of the other needle.
"I am really sorry, cutie... I wish we could do it differently." He said to Selina and seemed to be really honest.
William pulled his glove a little and stabbed the heel of his palm with the needle enough to draw blood, Ronald sighed once more and followed suit. Then both leaned over the already marked and bleeding wrists of Selina's and drew one more symbol in each seal, the one different from the other, representing the reapers personally since it was their personal mark. Selina did not scream this time as her body had already gotten used to the pain and numbness had spread its fingers in her.
"With these seals we bind you to us, we will be your bosses and you will have to follow every order no matter what. With our blood and our marks, we infuse a little of our essence in you, so that you will be more resilient when fighting against our kind and you will not be harmed by a death scythe… not lethally at least." William informed her with his usual business-like voice.
Half an hour after she entered that crowded office, Selina was sitting on the room's floor, her back leaning on the wall as she was still panting; her hands lying at her sides as if they were dead. Her white shirt soaked in sweat and half pulled out of her trousers during the struggle, her hair totally dishevelled and free from their messy bun. Her eyes seemed glazed, as she still felt quite numb despite trembling. Miranda was kneeled beside her, wiping her forehead and looking at her worried.
"They might look ugly now, but in a week they will be like any other tattoo, no redness, no pain." Othello, an almost green haired reaper wearing a lab coat said with a smile after examining her wrists.
Selina simply nodded, not having the courage to respond otherwise. Othello stood up and left, but his place took William, who crunched in front of the two witches, pushed his glasses up and looked at Selina.
"You have this week, until you are fully healed, to take care of any loose ends and unfinished business back in your dimension. After that, you will be staying here under surveillance and will immediately start training. The salary you were receiving for working for us will no longer exist… I had every intention to continue paying you but since you gave such an idea-"
"Well then keep paying her." Miranda said calmly out of the blue. "But since everything will be provided by the Dispatch and she will have little to no need of money… then give them to our niece and nephew."
Selina nodded immediately and managed to say a faint "yes, please" as she slowly started to gain her strength back.
"Growing up they will have needs, and that is the least we can do since none of us can be by their side." Miranda insisted.
Ronald Knox seemed to be of the same idea and after William looked at some more reapers, that seemed to also be high ranks, finally agreed and that made the two women smile thanking him.
"You are to let your hair grow back to their natural colour and never change it again, no matter what! It is essential for a mission." Spears finally said and stood up dismissing everyone.
Miranda, at Selina's surprise, picked her up easily – something impossible to happen when Miranda was alive – and took her to the big room, or tiny apartment, meant to be her home for the next three years.
As was told, Selina returned to her house, cleaned it up, covered the furniture and then ran errands outside. She visited a lawyer and made a simple will; if anything happened to her or disappeared, everything she owned – her bank accounts, her personal belongings and of course her house – would pass on to her nephew and niece; their father would have the right to manage all these until the children become adults, but could never sell anything.
The lawyer could not hide being a little concerned, seeing her bandaged wrists, until Selina reassured him she would never try to kill herself, since that would not take away her burdens. She pretended she would travel around the world and no one knows what might happen; therefore, she needed to be certain everything was settled. Explaining and saying goodbye to Mark and the children was hard, but necessary in order to prepare them for everything; she did not want to make them worry when she would not be able to contact them so often.
Indeed, she seemed ready to abandon her earthly, human life for good and strangely that made her feel better than she could have imagined; she needn't worry about getting a job, paying bills or spending hours alone with her ghosts in a big house, she would not be afraid of other humans anymore and of getting hurt in any way.
The last thing she left behind, and made her feel so light afterwards, was Paul. She went to a jewellery shop and gave their wedding bands to be melted, made into something else and then sold. Some tears threatening to fall while giving away the chain with the two rings, froze in her eyes as soon as she got out in the freezing winter air. She breathed in and felt like the last chain keeping her bound to Earth was now broken as the epilogue of her life was about to begin. She was certain she would eventually find death, either from a demon or from the reapers themselves, when they would have no need of her anymore. Strangely enough she did not mind.
True to their words, in one week the reapers sent Ronald Knox along Miranda to pick Selina up and return to the Grim Reapers British Dispatch, where her intensive training began preparing her for a mission she yet had to find out.
Up to that point, Selina was quite proud of her fighting skills, as she always managed to execute her missions with little to no damage on her person, even when her opponents were quite strong. However, once William T. Spears, Grell Sutcliff and Ronald Knox took upon themselves her training, she was forced to re-evaluate her abilities and realise that probably had never met or battled a truly powerful demon.
As soon as she returned to the headquarters, a new pair of blades identical to hers were given to her, only these were forged to resemble death scythes in some ways. For instance, they could withstand a scythe's attack... and honestly, that was the only thing that saved Selina many times from being cut into slices by Sutcliff's chainsaw during their extremely hard sessions.
"Okay… who the fuck… is that Bassy… and why hasn't he fucked Grell yet and be done with it?" Selina wondered one day, crawling towards the back of the training room, where Miranda and Ronald were watching her… 'training' with Grell; she had beaten her quite well, again, the same time she was screaming about a horrendous woman taking her eternal love away. For some reason Selina could not understand, Grell seemed to see that woman in her… and that made the trans reaper extra violent, to the point Ronald had to yell at her not to kill the witch.
Now, the young reaper and the even younger angel were chuckling, exchanging conspiratorial glances; Selina saw it and was ready to ask for explanations, when Miranda landed an ice pack on her already swollen and slightly bleeding cheek and then scanned the rest of the wounds and lacerations on her body, ignoring the other witch's screams of pain.
"Honestly… who is that guy and where can I find him? I will personally go and ask him, as a favor, to come and do Grell just once… if that buys me less bruises and cuts." She said again after a while.
"How can you force a man doing something like that? He might be a hundred percent straight and already committed to a serious relationship or something." Ronald commented chuckling, passing her a bottle of water.
Selina looked at him with one hostile eye as her left one was sealed under the ice pack. "Do I look like I care? He could even be into goats… couldn't care less. I don't know the guy and never will so-"
Ronald could not contain himself after hearing the last part, and burst out laughing with his heart. Selina never understood why he seemed so amused by her words and he never bothered to explain.
Day after day of hard beating, that turned to harsh training, with these three reapers, made Selina see significant changes in herself. Her fighting style had changed a lot and now instead of being a whirlwind of force, simply too quick for her enemies to respond, she had turned to a dancer, almost walking in the air dodging and returning attacks successfully. Her stamina was greater, her muscles seemed to hold more strength and her body was becoming even more flexible; her swords, even a little heavier from the ones she knew, soon became extensions of her hands and her daggers of her fingers. By the end of the second year under the reapers' tutoring, she had turned into a killing machine, if she had to, able to battle a higher rank demon or a group of ten of medium rank as she proved at some point.
All the while she was under surveillance and training, her duties towards the reapers had increased and was very often sent to various missions. One of them was to trash a party a group of demons did to lure humans under the pretence of taking part in an orgy. Selina, once again had dragged Claude along to help her infiltrate the party; the demon's complains fell on deaf ears, and in the end the only thing he could do was take cover when the witch's flames burst out, spreading panic and chaos amidst the demons but also protecting her as she got closer for the final hit. The mission was a success and a sign for William; the time for her to learn and be prepared for the mission of her life had finally arrived.
When summoned in William's office, she thought it would be one more job of saving human souls from hungry demons. She did not suspect otherwise, even when given a case file to read and saw that her random hypothesis concerning a British lord of old and his supernatural connections was actually right. But could not believe her ears when William actually gave her main objective.
"Wai-Wha-What do you mean I must not kill the demon no matter what?" She asked with eyes wide open.
"Exactly what I said!" William said pushing his glasses up and seemed so bothered and uncomfortable about what he had to say. "You are to somehow become part or a close friend of the Phantomhive household, gain the Earl's trust and guarantee his contract to the demon under the name Sebastian Michaelis will be properly fulfilled." He said with one breath and his monotonous voice.
"But… as I see here… we are talking about a child! A demon preying on a boy!" She said quite freaked out. "I understand… he needed help, desperately… and the demon needed to… eat, but still… It is cruel and we save these souls-"
"Your friend, Claude, did more or less the same when you met him…" William looked at her sternly.
"Alois was already an adult… Sure, Claude must had manipulated him, but the man had already decided it on his own. And Claude is not my friend!" She seemed a little offended in the end.
"Earl Phantomhive had also decided and had fully realized the consequences of that. Anyway, we reapers are also considered grey creatures, since we must not interfere in humans' affairs or take any side, but we are unable of seeing things with your objectivity; we are bound to hate demons, while you can see past the hungry, vile creatures they are. You are the only one who can stand by Michaelis' side as an equal and the only one he will accept."
Selina nodded. "And all this just to make sure the contract will be fulfilled? As far as I can see, Phantomhive doesn't have any intention of escaping his fate, and Michaelis surely is not a demon allowing something like that or suddenly backing down…"
"The problem will not arise from them… Have you heard about the renegade reaper we had troubles with during the Victorian Era? The one who had taken up the name of Undertaker?"
"Oh yes! He gave you quite a hard time, huh?" Selina smiled impishly.
"Well yes… but he did the same thing to Phantomhive and Michaelis. I will not tell you how he did that, you will have to discover it on your own while being there, but he tried to disrupt the contract in many ways. So you have to help the boy and the demon take Undertaker down and then manage to properly fulfil their contract. You will help them in everything they do, even if it is not related to Undertaker; you will become part of their team."
Selina nodded again. "But why do I have to be there? I mean, things worked out the first time I was not there… Oh, I get it." She said seeing the look William was giving her. "Time can flow in a circle, so I was there the first time too… that is why you are sending me back now…" Now she remembered that, quite conveniently, the face of the blond tutor standing next to the butler was really blurry at the portrait in the toy museum.
"You have reached a satisfactory level of battle skills; you can fight along the demon quite well… In the following months your training will prepare you for becoming a proper British woman of the Victorian Era, and at first you will work as a tutor for a young lady and establish a connection with Phantomhive during a cruise. I will prepare everything you need as a tutor, but the rest is up to you." William went on ignoring Selina's wide eyes and her question of "Is he that good?" when he commented on the demon's skills in battle. "If you successfully complete this mission… I promise it will be your last, you will be free after that." He stood up showing the meeting was drawing to a close.
Selina chuckled as she picked up the file, wanting to study the demon's profile some more. "It will be my last, either way. I mean… even if I manage and gain Michaelis' trust…" She laughed lightly at that, it sounded so odd in her ears. "He will end up killing me when his contract is done."
"How can you be so sure?" William asked with narrowed eyes.
"He is a demon, quite powerful as it seems, so why would he leave a human - who will know the truth - alive, giving me the chance to hunt him down?" She turned to go and back again. "I mean... I would kill me if I was him." She smiled and left the office, leaving the reaper alone with a look in his eyes, like he knew something more… something important Selina should not know… yet.
Selina never thought a time would come when she would prefer Grell's violence, but that happened too during her new training. She had to learn the piano – she already knew how to play a little as a child but nothing really serious – proper manners, excel in British accent, learn to walk like a lady, eat like a lady, and do everything like a lady while dragging long, heavy skirts and wearing the most cursed attire humans ever invented… a tight corset squeezing her to death! Miranda exhibited her sadistic side – of course, making Selina wonder about her cousin's angelic nature – since she ignored Selina's cries of throwing up her insides if Miranda pulled the corset's laces tighter… Needless to say, Miranda did pull!
However, the most pleasant part of the training was reading most of the era's literature published up to February of 1889, when Selina would become a Victorian woman. She always liked that era's literature, so there was no problem in reading stories never heard before, plus she did it on her own without the 'assistance' of her three cursed tutors: Spears, Knox and Sutcliff, who all looked quite demonic in her eyes, all through the three years she lived and trained with them.
One week before finally sent back in time, the reapers curved a new spell on her forearms, a protective one raising a shield around the demon, the boy and whoever else he ordered her to protect. "Sebastian Michaelis" and "Earl Ciel Phantomhive" were tattooed on the inside of her forearms and a few magic words on the outside completing the protection. Selina chuckled at the thought of having to protect a demon obviously stronger than her, a human.
At the spur of the moment, she asked the tattooists to make her a normal tattoo covering the rest of her forearms, wanting to have something of her own to help her not get lost in the various roles she guessed the mission would require of her to take up. She wanted blue flames encircling the names of the people that would become the most important ones in her near future. The reapers looked a little confused but did it anyway and she seemed really pleased with the result.
The last thing to do was get to know the two protagonists of her life's mission and William had prepared that too. Miranda entered Selina's room one night, with a memory orb in her hands, announcing she would accompany her in viewing everything and so they got comfortable on the sofa before the 'movie' started.
{~}
"A memory orb? And what exactly is that?" Ciel asked quite intrigued and bothered that third parties had somehow witnessed things that only he and his personal demon knew. Selina had told them, from the start, that she knew a lot about the two of them and their contract, but he believed she had just read or was told by the reapers, just the facts... not see the actual events and... take a look in his deepest thoughts and feelings.
"Well... it's a black sphere at the size of... a cricket ball, where dead humans' and supernatural creatures' memories can be stored and... projected for others to see." The witch explained.
"How indiscreet!" The boy cried a little freaked out, knowing that his privacy can be violated even after death.
"True, but in this case it was quite helpful, my lord. I watched most of your memories and... since it seems Sebastian is still alive in my time, those of people's you two have met on your way. The reapers thought that, being able to see what Sebastian was doing when you were not present, would help in getting to know him better, find a way to approach him... and be able to protect myself against him... in all levels."
Her voice got very quiet in the last phrase, being certain of what would follow. And indeed, a satisfied chuckle from the demon and a mocking "pff" from the little lord were enough. "Very effective protection!" was what they were both saying, making her blush totally embarrassed.
"Anyway... I watched enough to know many details up to our meeting on Campania." She said and tried to resist looking at the demon, shamelessly smirking, obviously having fun picturing her watching his exchange with Beast... in depth - pun intended - and getting so cutely embarrassed and blushing.
"Right. And finally, after all that, you were sent here." The boy said, stretching in his chair and wholeheartedly hoping that to be the case. He sighed relieved when the woman nodded.
{~}
"By the way, Mr. Spears, I have to congratulate you for the total lack of spirit of cooperation you have!" She teased the reaper as the entire team walked her towards the time portal that would take her to the Victorian Era.
William looked at her in his usual strict manner, while Ronald, Grell and Miranda were sniggering. "I became the head of the Dispatch, exactly due to my extreme spirit of cooperation, so I have no idea to what do you refer!"
Selina looked at him with wide eyes. "Why, to your denial to cooperate with Michaelis, back at the circus, of course! You were always so uptight..."
The reaper tensed more than usual and straightened his glasses. "I could never cooperate with such a vermin!"
"Yet, you ask me to do it..." The blond woman went on quite relentlessly.
"This is different, you are different. You are... closer to him, more... similar." He said a little hesitantly, not sure if the witch would get offended.
On the contrary, the angel was the one with that feeling. "Mr. Spears, I think you overstep! How dare you say my cousin is closer and similar to a demon after all the work she has done for you?" She said with furrowed eyes.
William T. Spears got ready to explain himself, but was cut off by Selina nodding casually and was left speechless for a second after hearing her words.
"Correct, I have a few more steps downward to take before I expire and then relive as a demon... Plus, I don't think I will ever reach his level in... well... everything. I was never good at seduction, almost zero femininity." The last part was almost mumbled to herself.
The reaper sighed pushing his glasses up his nose once again. "That is what I mean... He never felt ashamed in being a demon, and you feel no shame in becoming one."
Selina looked at him and her face showed she could not comprehend the notion of one being ashamed of one's nature. Shame for actions, that she could understand, but shame for nature of existence... no, that was beyond her.
"Anyway, none of these is really important. Do not forget that at some point - you will decide when that will be - you have to talk about your life to both child and demon. Do not try to avoid it or give a summary of it." Spears ordered without allowing her to object in any way. Selina sighed and just nodded.
In the meantime, they entered a chamber with an arch on the opposite wall. A street of the Victorian London was visible through its mirror-like surface. Selina kissed Miranda and waved at the others goodbye, tightened her fingers around her luggages, took a deep breath and took a step through the portal that would take her to the end of her life... or maybe not?
{~}
Ciel sighed and moved in his chair waking up his muscles after sitting in more or less the same position for so long. "Well, Miss Selina… I now know everything about you and the reason why you are here… although there are some things I do not understand, but I have a feeling time will reveal us the truth that obviously not even you know… For instance, if the reapers had knowledge of you being Sebastian's… mate and hid it on purpose. I admit I am not happy receiving help from them, but… as long as you follow your instructions closely and limit my interactions with these creatures to the necessary minimum, I have no problem continuing trusting you and considering you part of my household." He finished with an authoritarian tone in his eye and voice. Then, he closed and returned to Selina the photographic album that, truth is, helped him place faces to names he heard during the narration. It seems that was the closer to a memory orb the witch could offer.
Selina took it in her hands, stood up and bowed respectfully. "I appreciate your kindness, my lord. I swear I will do whatever you ask of me and try my best on keeping them away from you. If you have no more questions or use of me for tonight… can I withdraw, my lord?" She asked and now it was visible she had reached her limit.
Narrating her whole life in great detail and all at once had obviously rekindled emotions that now were threatening breaking through her mask of calmness and stoicism. After a strong yawn, the boy dismissed her and the woman disappeared from the room in a second, running like a whirlwind, not glancing at the silent demon even for a second. Sebastian felt his eyebrow twitching annoyed as he kept staring at the door from which the witch had exited.
"I believe the reapers knew very well how the relationship between you and her would evolve; they knew she is your mate and this... oral pageantry, let us say, of Selina's life and events that brought her to us were not meant to gain our trust, but assist you in your decision." The boy said with great certainty.
"I am of the same idea, my lord." Sebastian responded politely bowing his head.
"And? Did it help?" The child asked a little curious although trying to mask it.
Sebastian chuckled checking his pocket watch. "I think such matters should not bother you yet, my lord. Rest assured, I will inform you immediately as soon as I reach a decision... unless you want to order me to make a specific decision." He gave a challenging look at the boy.
"Do not be ridiculous, I know my limits! I would never interfere to anyone's so personal affairs… However, I will once again order you not to kill her if your decision is towards that! I do not care how, but you will have to swallow your distaste and work with her, just as you do until now and for as long as I have use of her." Ciel said determined, getting up from his seat, signalling he was ready to go to bed.
Sebastian smirked as he again bowed at the boy and followed him to his room, where he put his master to sleep. Of course, the demon did not miss the opportunity to tease the boy, by asking if he wanted him to stay in the room until he fell asleep, in case nightmares reawakened by what he heard this evening, rushed on to swallow him. Ciel only glared at Sebastian with a quite murderous look and dismissed him immediately; he knew the images of Selina's life she draw with words for him would rekindle his own memories that would return to gnaw on his mind for one more night, but he was determined this time to face them alone, even if that meant not sleeping for the rest of the night.
The demon butler finished the rest of his chores, prepared everything needed for their return to the Phantomhive manor tomorrow and headed for the servants' corridor and a specific room. On one hand, he thought that by learning everything about Selina in so many details would finally make him get rid of that persistent attraction he harboured for her; she would not be a riddle anymore, therefore his interest would evaporate.
On the other hand, that prospect was not really favored in his mind. No matter how impossible and annoying it was, he could not deny the fact that the human witch had become an inseparable part of his current life and was not pleased in the thought of not sensing her buzzing presence around the house and himself! The sound of her laughter, her bright smile when teasing him and above all the softness and warmth of her body on his, aroused and relaxed him at the same time so much. Even without feeding off her magical aura, claiming her lips and body made him feel so high and then landed him back so softly and gently, easing his mind and ravenous hunger.
Sebastian was a demon who had tasted many drugs, curious to discover what humans find in them, but no one satisfied him the way Selina Clark did. She was becoming an addiction to him and he was not sure he wanted to stop that drug. He took a deep breath, knowing he had to make a decision on the future of their relationship, but it could wait for his mind was not in a thinking clearly state at the moment.
His blood was running hot in his veins just by fantasizing finding her in a really vulnerable state, filled with emotions risen to surface after being forced to relive all the pain, suffering and loss she had gone through. She would cry in his arms and he would taste of her desperation, but then sent it away with his kisses as he always preferred the taste of her passion more. He could not wait to sink himself in her, take her, make her scream his name and forget everything else, as he would relish at the feeling of her body squeezing and pulling him deeper. His wide strides brought him out of Selina's door very quickly, and after hearing her sobbing and low crying he silently opened the door and entered. However, he did not expect to see what he did!
Selina was indeed in a bad state, lying in bed with her back towards the door and the photographic album in hands; but the worst was that she was staring at the pictures of her happy time with that ridiculous human, Paul, while pregnant. Honestly, Sebastian expected her to be in such a state for remembering losing her family, but not that!
"Paul… I wonder how things would have turned out if we hadn't lost the baby… or if you hadn't left." She said between tears, oblivious of the demon's presence. "I know it's foolish but… could we have a normal life?"
Sebastian had to put enormous effort not to break the door handle still in his palm or the door-frame his other hand rested on. Eyes burning red and blood still running hot almost boiling in his veins, but not from lust this time. He managed to close the door as silently as he had opened it, and then with an even greater speed than previously, he left and before realizing, he was running for the nearest forest.
He was seething with fury ruthlessly biting his insides and essence, the core of his existence, while growls, resembling those of a wild animal, escaped through clenched teeth; his fist landing on trees and knocking them down in pieces till the break of dawn was what helped him vent his frustration. The forest's animals resting, woke up a couple of times and the ones hunting, lost their prey due to mysterious sounds and tremors in the ground that resembled an earthquake, but they knew it was not.
When the morning came, the demon butler was his usual self, only not so talkative, and the witch tutor looked quite tired. Their master saw it, but honestly, could not bother with them now; he was too tired by his own sleepless night and could not wait to finish Sieglinde's and Wolfram's relocation to a London house the Queen provided, and then return to his manor and try to rest.
One thing I totally give to Season 2 of the anime... is the idea of jealous Sebastian! Okay, for entirely different reasons in the anime, but Sebastian bashing trees (poor trees) to vent his jealous anger etc... was so so perfect! I think he would be totally like that when reaching his limits! 😄
Now, I do get that the part where Sebastian gets aroused by thinking how miserably Selina must be feeling is kind of creepy (and disgusting, maybe) but... he is a demon; it is kind of natural to him to relapse to bad demonic habits, right? Although, to his defense, he is 200% into consoling Selina, with his body. 😏 Does that make it sound any better? No idea, to be honest.
Also, at first, I had written a quite detailed version of what Selina and Miranda saw in this memory orb. It was pretty much a summary of the series up to where Selina joins along with some comments and reactions from Selina and Miranda. I removed it because it was getting ridiculously long and I thought it would be boring to narrate for the umpteenth time the first arcs. So many other fanfictions have done it for years. However, if you are interested in Selina's reactions and comments, let me know and I can turn that part in a one-shot... Either way, I have kept the text.
So, Selina gave out any information she could about her person. The decision of how their relationship will evolve is up to Sebastian. Do you people think her narration will affect what will follow?
Till next time! Bye!
