Chapter 10: A Hero Vs. The Hero
"So, this is all part of the Church of Transpierce's plans?!" Miya said to Tomori.
"Well, yeah. Aside from the killing of Cunningfield and those 500 people disappearing, that's all on the church, not me." Tomori explained to her.
Right now, the three of them are currently inside the locker, which stores Flan confiscated equipment.
"I see… That would mean the shadows back then are also from the church as well…" She thought to herself. "In any case, I think we should see father right away."
"False move, princess. Meeting your father right now is dangerous as the church might already have planted traps for us."
"But you're strong enough to take them on, right?"
"Yes. However, they're not only targeting me, but you as well. I guess that it has to be your status as the next in line of the throne. And regarding that, how come you're next to inherit the throne considering you're a second child."
"Um… Well… Let's just say that my sister had some 'troubling' personality…"
"Well, I understand that to some extent. She really wouldn't be a good queen to her people."
"I don't like badmouthing my sister, but it's the truth, I guess."
"How come can you stick up with a person like that for your entire life? If I was in your shoes, I would get insane and lock myself in a room so that I wouldn't meet her again."
"I don't have that much interaction with my sister as I'm always with the queen most of the time."
"Hmm… Mind telling me your age and your sister's age?"
"Oh, I'm 14 and my sister is supposed to be 21 this year."
"Okay… That red haired woman is the same age as me… Blergh!" There's something much better than thinking about that woman, like escaping from this underground dungeon.
"Okay, I'm ready." Flan said as he's in hisRoyal knight's equipment. "Is there any location that you wanted to go, Blade Hero?"
"Outside from Castle Town. They had set up a magic that blocked my teleportation skill. If we can get out from that magic perimeter, then I can teleport us out along with the others."
"The others?" Miya muttered to herself.
"Yeah, it's my party, Magic Hero, Projectile Hero and their party."
"What?! The two other heroes are with you?!" Flan exclaimed.
"Yeah. As for the Shaft Hero, he's on me right now due to the 'crimes' that I did." Tomori explained to him. "And I know this isn't a perfect time for this, but can you introduce yourself and the reason you got locked up?"
"Oh! Ehem!" Flan prepared himself to talk. "My name is Flan Bassett. The only son of Lord Bassett and a Royal Knight under her majesty's order. As for how I get locked up… It would be a long story."
"Well, can you explain it while we get out of here?"
"Of course! This way." Flan then leaves the locker room with Tomori and Miya. "Originally, I was supposed to be guarding Princess Miya when she and her majesty were on a tour to meet with other country leaders. However, I have a feeling something is going to happen back at Welle. So, I asked the queen to excuse myself and return to Welle immediately.
"Unfortunately, when I arrived there, the waves had already finished. There's no one there except for the gravestones lined up at the edge of a certain village inside the territory. Looking for answers, I return back to Castle Town to meet up with the knights that visited the territory. But I received no answers from them.
"A day later, I overheard the news that Welle is going to summon all of the Four Holy Heroes at once. Without any authority from the crown, I can't stop them. So, I came out with a plan. And that's to gather up people who would like to join your party."
"Hold on a sec. You're telling me that you're one of the people that's going to join my party?" Tomori asked.
"Exactly."
"I heard that some of them are demi-humans that got assassinated. Is that right?"
"Yes… As we walked towards the chamber, we were ambushed by a shadow. I managed to defeat them, but the others fell to their blade. After that, the First Princess was walking through the hallway and saw me like this. She screams, saying 'The royal knight here has killed a priest! Arrest him immediately!'.
"I tried to explain everything, but they gagged my mouth and dragged me away. Then, I overheard her discussion with a sister from the church about sabotaging the Blade Hero. And that's how I got here."
"Oh wow… Do you have any idea as to why the prison is on the idea of me being downsided like this?"
"Well, that's the thing I can't think of, even though I had spent the majority of my time behind the cell."
"I also can't think of the reason as to why my sister would hate you, um…" Miya is troubled as to how he should address the Blade Hero.
"Just call me Tomori." He said to her.
"R-Right… As I was saying, I can't think of any reason why my sister is against you, Sir Tomori. If she is on your side, then it would be more beneficial to her."
"Why do you mean that?"
"Well… Let's just say, if she and you were to get… You know… She can get the throne to herself."
"Wait… You said that if I and HER would go baby-making, then she would get to be the queen? How's that supposed to work?"
"Um… Uh…" The princess is startled for a moment due to Tomori saying 'baby-making'. "Ehem! If you would get into the Welle's Royal Family, then Klinge will see Welle as a holy country."
"Oh…! I get the gist of it now!" Since he's considered a god there, then it would make sense for them to see it that way. "But I don't want to be involved in politics and arrange marriage. I just wanted to defeat the wave. That's all."
"And that's what I'm going to achieve here, if it weren't for the church messing things up." The princess replied.
"Okay then, when will the queen return to Welle?" Tomori asked her.
"From the last time I saw her, she's still busy calming the other countries regarding Welle summoning the other heroes without an agreement. I also don't know where she currently is. I need to meet up with my shadow to gain that information."
"Alright, let's get out of here first!"
The three of them continued to walk through the narrow hallway, surrounded with cells from the sides.
"There they are!"
Couple of knights started to notice them running.
"Like hell I would let you chase me!" Tomori then chants very quickly under his breath. " Creation Magic: Electro Needle!"
He created three needles made out of lightning that appear on his left hand.
"Take this!" He threw all of the needles to the knights chasing them behind.
"Don't be afraid! That needle isn't going to hurt us-"
Boom*
The needle let out an explosion the moment it came in contact with the knight.
"A concentrated item made from Creation Magic… How do you do that?" Miya asked him.
"I don't know. I just let my magic flow into the creation and voila, exploding needles."
"Okay…" She didn't understand one bit of Tomori's explanation.
"Don't let them get through!" A squadron of knights started to form a barricade in front of them.
"You think that can stop us-"
"Hah!"
When Tomori is talking, Flan just leaps forward while unsheathing his sword. He thrusted it towards a knight in front of him and then slashes the knight next to him. He continued to take down any knight that's near him.
"Oh wow… He is really skillful." Tomori commented. "If we're fighting on the rule that I can't use skills and both of us can't use magic, then I would definitely lose against him. Sure, my stats are higher than him. But what's the point of high ATK stats if I can't hit my target."
"Of course he is. Flan is the best swordsman in Welle and he has won many competitive sword fights representing Welle. Not only that, he's also the youngest Royal Knight in Welle's record." Miya explained to him.
"I see…" Tomori muttered as he continued to watch Flan's fight. "His fighting style seems to focus on dexterity and precision. At first, I thought it would be a great idea to have him teach me some sword skills. But my fighting style is focused on dealing a huge hit and OHKO'ing my opponent. Sigh* I wonder if there's any swordsman that focuses on that-"
Swish*
Tomori felt like a dagger was going to hit the princess.
Clang*
He immediately deflected the dagger to the sides. He turned around and saw a few shadows approaching them.
"Seems like this is going to get spiky. princess, I suggest you back down a bit." Tomori said to her.
"Even though I don't look like it, I'm actually a capable magic user. And also, don't call me princess!" She retorted.
"But you're a princess, right? What's wrong with it?"
"Princess is just a title, and it's not my name!"
" Sigh* Alright, Miya… I know you said that you're a capable magic user, but if you can't sense when they're going to throw their dagger, then it would be difficult for me to protect you."
"Don't worry, I got this!" She said excitedly. Tomori wondered when she got this excited. "As the source of power, hear my words and send a powerful water attack to defeat my target!"
She then started doing a chopping motion from her left side.
" High Aqua Slash!" A water slash went towards her front and a splash of it appeared, revealing the shadows.
"As the source of power, hear my words and summon a lightning that will connect towards my target!"
" High Lightning Chain!"
Miya continued to cast another spell that's one of Tomori's favourite spells. The spell hits the first shadow and then goes to the shadows on the sides, knocking them out unconscious.
"Combination of Water and Lightning magic… So awesome. It's better than having Reinforcement magic. Like, I can't even buff my teammates. What the f*ck is wrong with this system?!"
"Look at how strong my magic was!" She said while having a smug face.
"She's really making a face that's very unbenefiting of a royalty… Not that I cared about it." Tomori thought to himself. "Yeah, yeah. It's great and whatnot."
"Huh… You don't seem to be surprised at it."
"I've seen better spells than that. For example…" Tomori turned towards the knights that Flan was fighting. " All Low Verringern V!"
Tomori casted his hero's exclusive spell onto the knights, lowering all of their stats.
"Ugh…?! Why do I feel weak-Argh!" A knight said before getting totally smashed by Flan.
"Normally, I wouldn't approve of such magic. However…" Flan then started knocking out all of the knights. "Desperate time calls for desperate measures, is it right? It's one quote that the heroes from the past had said."
"Right… I think we should go now."
All of them then continued to sprint. When they turned to the left, they met up with a group of six knights.
"I don't have time for this! Bone Needle!" A small needle made out of bone appears a few metres apart from Tomori. " Comet Slash!"
He releases the skill and hits the bone. It was absorbed into the skill and went towards the knights.
"ARGH!!!"
They get hit by the skill and send flying to the walls. Bone Needle is a skill that doubles the damage of skill and spell that hit it. It is either used by sending the needle towards the target for a single target attack, or summoning the needle a few metres apart from the user for multiple target attack.
"You're really strong, Blade Hero." Flan said to him.
"Nah, it's just the power up methods."
Flan didn't understand what Tomori meant by that. Actually, he didn't understand how the Blade Hero himself is so strong. Sure, he's the first that Flan gad ever seen his entire life, but his power scale is b*llsh*tly strong. He needs to see if the other heroes are as capable as Tomori.
After running through corner after corner, fight multiple knights and shadows. They had finally arrived towards the door that would grant them their freedom.
"Finally! Freedom!!!" Tomori opens the door and goes outside.
"There's the Blade Demon!"
"Kill him!"
"For the Church of Transpierce!"
Dozens of knights are apparently waiting for them. Tomori then slowly walked back towards the dungeon. Miya then tugged his sleeves, stopping him from going back to the dungeon.
"Where are you going?" She asked.
"I'm going back inside. It's much safer there."
"This isn't the time for jokes!" Miya exclaimed. "Let me try talking to them."
She walked forward while Flan followed her from behind.
"Listen, all of you-"
"Kill them!"
"You need to stop-"
"For our gods!"
"This foolishness at-"
"For glory!!! Arh!!!"
The knights then started marching towards them.
"Seems like your plan doesn't work, princess." Tomori said smugly as he leaned on the dungeon's door.
"Like I said, this is not a joke! And don't call me princess!" She retorted, again.
"Princess Miya is right, Blade Hero. What should we do now?" Flan asked.
" Second Blade! Sword of Absorver II!" Tomori summoned a second sword onto his left hand and raised it to the sky. He then started chatting. " High Shock Burst!"
A blast of lightning came out from the blade and reached out to the sky.
"And what are we supposed to do with that?" Miya asked him. "Isn't it better if you direct the spell at them instead?"
"If I did that, then they would die. I'm not joking. I'm over level 100 right now. And I'm still holding back my powers against them."
"L-Level 100?! How come you can achieve such a feat when you're summoned here around a month ago?" Flan asked him while flabbergasting, hearing that the individual in front of him is double his level.
"Well, remember that 500 people that disappeared? That's the main reason I'm over level 100…"
"I see… That's logical. To think that you have the power to do that…"
"So you really killed them…"
Both Flan and Miya said to them.
"Technically, it's a complicated story, but I promise to tell you all about it later. But now…" Tomori readied his swords. "We need to fight. Flan and I will make sure the knights didn't get to you. And I'm confident that you can protect against the shadows' sneak attack, is that right Miya?"
"I know it already!" She exclaimed.
"Huh… It's one of my dreams to fight alongside the heroes, but not like this…" Flan commented.
"Not everything is sunshine and rainbows. We have to accept what fate has brought to us."
"You're right… If time is acceptable, I would like to have a spar with you, Blade Hero."
"Hahaha… I will totally lose to you." Tomori said jokingly. He then stared down upon both of his swords. " Sword of Absorver II… True Bone King Dragon Core Sword… Let's show them what you guys have in store!"
The red gemstone on TBKDCS started glowing brightly and then went back to normal.
"Let's do this!" For a moment, Tomori's eyes turned red, resembling a wolf's eye. " Blade Whip!"
He used the whip to wrap a knight that's closer to him. Then, he throws the knight towards another group of knights.
"Argh!!!" All of them fell as if they were bowling pins.
"These guys are easy to deal with since our power gap is too far away." Tomori continued to wrap another standing knight to throw them at another group of knights, while blocking their attack with the sword on his left hand.
"Um… Flan?" Miya asked him who's staring at Tomori fighting the dozens of knights. "Why didn't you help him?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, Princess Miya." He replied. "I'm just inspecting the sword style that the Blade Hero used. I never seen someone fighting like that before-"
"Nevermind that! Just help him! I'm going to support both of you if needed!" Miya pushed him towards the knights that Tomori's currently fighting.
"Woah?!" He kneels down, evading the Blade Whip that Tomori swung around.
"Sorry! What your heads out! I'm still trying to learn how to use this thing!" He shouted to Flan as the whip returned back to the sword. "F*ck this! Imma going to do it old Kirito style! Hragh!!!"
Tomori then started swinging his swords like a mad man, while knocking them out one by one at the time.
"Kirito Style… What a savage style that is…" While another swordsman there seems to have misunderstood what the Blade Hero totally meant. Flan shrugged it off and assisted Tomori in the fight.
"Man… How many knights are stationed here…" Tomori complains as he's blocking the knights' sword and spear.
"This is just a fragment of it, Blade Hero. All of these knights are under the king's order and quite possibly under the church's order as well." Flan explained as he released a multiple thrust at one of the knights.
"Are you kidding me… And where's the rest of them…?!"
Both of them continued to fight the knights, until a lightning spell came out of nowhere towards them and the group of knights.
"Watch out!" Tomori kicked Flan to the sides while pointing his SoAII at the spell. " Combination Skill! Storm Edge!"
The sword absorbed the spell and Tomori turned it into a Combination Skill. He released it towards the group of knights further than him. Then, turned towards the caster of the spell.
"Miya, I know you're a capable magic user, but don't just randomly cast your spell at us!" He shouted at her.
"I'm not trying to hit you! I'm trying to hit them!" She shouted back.
"I know, but make sure to give a heads up before doing that!"
Swoosh*
An arrow flew next through Tomori. He looked in the direction of the main gate and saw dozens more knights coming towards them.
"Ah sh*t! Flan, retreat!" He called for the knight who quickly stood up and continued to fight the knights. Then, he started running back to the princess.
"Huh? Okay!" He pushed back the knight and went running behind Tomori.
When both of them arrived at the princess' sides, Tomori stabbed his TBKDCS into the ground.
"As the source of power, hear my words and protect us from danger using bones of the past warriors!"
" High Bone Prison!"
Using the special effect of the weapon that lets him use Bone Magic, Tomori used a spell that makes a ribcage appear from the ground and forms a sphere shape with little gaps that arrows can't enter through it.
"The reinforcements from nearby towns have arrived… The chance of us escaping unscathed is low, Blade Hero. What should we do now?" Flan asked Tomori.
"Their numbers are too high for the three of us… Damn it, where's the rest of them…" He said as he stared through the gaps of the bone sphere.
Clang* Clang* Clang* Clang* Clang*
The knights savagely attack the sphere in order to break it.
"Are you sure that we are safe here?" Miya asked him, but her voice couldn't be heard properly due to the loud clanging.
"What?!" Tomori shouted at her.
"I said, are we safe here?!"
"What?!"
"I said, ARE WE SAFE HERE?!"
"WHAT?! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! SPEAK LOUDER!"
The royal knight who stood beside them watches as they keep on going.
"It hasn't been an hour yet since I got out and this is what I had to face? Being swarmed by dozens of knights and watching Princess Miya and Blade Hero shouting at each other at the same time… Maybe I'm still dreaming after all."
Flan is still craving for his good nap.
"Okay! We're going to do this the hard way then! Miya, we're going to use the thing!" Tomori said to her.
"Thing? What thing?!"
"The thing! You know, where we combine our spell and stuff!"
"Do you mean Combination Magic?"
"Yes! That! Come on!" He pulled Miya closer to him.
"O-Okay!"
Both of them then put their hands to the front.
"How do you cast Combination Magic?" A certain person asked her.
"Really?! You know about it and yet, you didn't know how to cast it?!"
"I'm sorry, okay?! I'm the Blade Hero, not the Magic Hero! My speciality is to hit stuff with my sword, not blasting spells left, right and center like you did back then!"
"Excuse me! I helped you guys back then, okay?!"
"Yeah, totally! Sending a spell directly to our face is really helping us!"
Both of them continued bantering with each other again.
"This is the first time I saw Princess Miya act like this… Maybe this isn't a dream after all…" Flan put his hands onto their shoulders. "Both of you! Please stop bickering with each other! I don't spend my time in the dungeon for more than a month for this to happen! So please get over it quickly!"
"Wah?!" This has caused both of them to be startled by him.
"R-Right…" This is the first time Miya had seen Flan act up like this. She turned back to Tomori. "Alright, I will lead the spell. You just need to synchronise with my chant."
"Got it!" He gave a thumbs up.
Both of them then take a deep breath.
"We're the source of power! Water and Lightning! When the two elements combine, catastrophe will arise! Hear our words and summon a rain that will paralyse them!"
Both of their hands started glowing.
" Thunderous Squall!"
A few moments later, a red cloud appeared on the skies and started raining.
"ARGH!!!" A knight suddenly screamed after the drop of rain touched the ground.
More scream and less clanking can be heard after a few minutes. What Tomori is wondering is that how come the rain didn't go through the gaps between the bone sphere? Another mystery of the world is added onto Tomori's list.
After the rain stops and the cloud disappears, the bone sphere goes back into the ground. Their surroundings are filled with paralyzed knights, buzzing on the ground from the rain. But it doesn't faze the knights that's far away from them.
"At least their numbers had gone down." Tomori then prepared his fighting stance. "Alright, let's finish this off and get out-"
" Hundred Shards!"
" Hundred Arrows!"
Suddenly, hundreds of projectiles come falling from the sky and hit the remaining knights that are still standing.
" Sigh* They're so late…" Tomori muttered as he saw two people walking towards them. "Care to come a little bit earlier?"
"Hah… Care to give us some slack… After you gave your signal, some shadows ambushed us out of nowhere. It's pain in the *ss to get here, you know?" One of the people, Reika, replied to him. "But hey, at least we arrived in time, right?"
"I wouldn't say that's the case…"
"Wait, I thought we were only saying the princess? Who is this knight here?" Akira asked as she looked towards the two individuals.
"I'm Flan Bassett. A Royal Knight under the queen order." He bowed down to her. "It's good to meet you, Magic Hero and Projectile Hero."
"Yeah, and this here is the Second Princess of this country." Tomori pointed at Miya.
She prepared herself to speak to the heroes.
"It's a pleasure to meet with you heroes. My name is Miya S. Welle. The second child of the Welle's Royalty, and an heir to the throne." She also bowed to them as well.
"Wait, a second child and heir to the throne?" Reika asked.
"I let her explain that later but we need to move now." Tomori said to them. "Where's the others?"
"I've ordered them to clean the path for us to get out of here while both of us fetch you guys."
"I see… Let's go now!"
All five of them then move towards the main gate. For freedom!
They ran towards the main gate. Tomori is surprised at the fact that this kind of chaos in the town can be caused in only around an hour.
"Reika, shoot your skill to the right!" Akira shouted.
"Okay! Bomb Shot!" She pulled her bow string and released a skill on her right side.
"ARGH!!!" A shadow then falls to the ground while smoke comes out from his body.
"Is that how you counter those shadows?" Tomori asked.
"Yes. I tracked their presence and let Reika do the job." Akira replied.
"Alright then."
They continued to move forward, until they saw a huge fight in the front.
Clang*
Ivaran smashed his shield onto the knight's face.
"Hiyah!" While Riri kicked the knight in the forbidden.
"Ugh…!" The knight falls down, with pain expressed on his face.
"Riri…"
"What? It's easier fighting them like this, you know? We don't have to do much work at all!"
" Sigh* I know that…" Ivaran had to agree with her. However, as a man himself, he's disturbed by the fact that his companion is accustomed to kicking someone's beads. "I should ask Tomori-san to keep her on the right path… But that definitely wouldn't work as he's the one who suggested that to her in the first place…"
The half-elf continued to grim for a while, and then joined the fight again.
"Hahhh!" Rylon bash his sword onto a knight, pushing him to the sides. He then turned back to face the rest of his team. "Emil, can you at least support me?!"
"O-Ok! Low Wind Arrow!" He casted a spell onto a knight that's coming into Rylon's direction.
"Gah?!" The knight fell down, but stood up again in a few seconds.
Bonk*
But the knight falls down again after Lowri hit him with her mace.
"I thought a spell like that could damage an unprotected knight like this one here…" She muttered to herself.
"I'm sorry…" Emil apologies.
"No,no. I didn't mean it like that. You can use multiple Magic Elements, right? I heard someone like that can't use their magic to their full potential."
"That's true… But that's not the only factor that makes me so weak…"
"What do you mean-"
Swoosh*
Multiple arrows are coming towards their direction.
" High Shadow Wall!" Thea casts a spell and makes a purple wall appear in front of them. "Fight more, talk later!"
"Hah!" Mizune appears out from the shadow and knocks out all of the archers with the blunt side of her dagger. She then looked around her surroundings. "I sense no more presence."
"Which means… We have defeated all of the knights?" Lowri asked.
"I would like to say that, but that's definitely not the case here."
Ivaran and Riri then came running to them.
"We have already cleared out the path towards the main gate!" Ivaran shouted at them. "We just need to wait for the others."
"You guys!"
All of them then turned towards the voice. There's no mistaking it. From the voice, Ivaran and Riri instantly knew that it was someone they know of.
"Tomori!" Riri then jumped onto him. "Sorry I can't help you. But that meanie over there don't let me follow her to save you…"
She pointed at Reika.
"Who are you calling a meanie, huh?!" She retorted.
"Okay, okay… At least your guys are fine." Tomori said to them.
"Alright! Is that the princess over there?" Riri looks at Miya, who's standing next to Flan. She then went to her and grabbed her hands. "Nice to meet you! I'm Riri!"
"N-Nice to meet you as well, Riri. My name is Miya." She said to her.
Tomori is weird because the princess always stutters when she meets new people. She always prepared herself before talking to someone.
"It will be funny to know if she's just an introverted girl."
"Oh, and who's this dude in dirty armor?" Riri looks at Flan, whose armor is indeed dirty due to the fact that it hasn't been maintained for almost a month.
"I'm Flan Bassett." He replied.
"Wait…" Did Ivaran hear that right just now? He then rushed towards the other group to see if this person was true. "Flan… Are you really him?"
"Yes… Have we met before?"
" Sigh* Care to guess who I am?"
"Hmm…" Flan inspected Ivaran's body. "Elf's ear, blond hair, black eyes… Wait?! Don't tell me… Ivaran? Is that really you?!"
"Yeah!"
Flan then get closer to him.
"Oh my… You have gotten big! Is this the effect of the level up?"
"Well, that's right."
Both of them continued to have a chat.
"You guys already knew each other?" Tomori asked.
"Yes. He always comes to our village to have sword practice, even when his father forbids him to go."
"Come on, Ivaran… Don't expose my past in front of the Blade Hero…"
"Hahaha… Sorry about that." Ivaran then turned his attention towards Miya. "And it's been a while since we saw each other, Princess Miya."
"O-Oh, y-yes! It's been a w-while…" She said while stuttering a lot and her fingers were fidgeting.
"Huh… Ivaran is surely popular. I guess that's the perk of being a half-elf, I guess. He and Miya had even met up before. And from her reaction just now… Nah, it's not good to pry into someone's life. "Tomori then moved to the front. "Save the chit chat for later. We really need to go now."
As they ran towards the main gate, knights started forming a human barricade on the exit. And a person who's standing in front of them is a person that Tomori didn't want to meet the most.
"Ah, sh*t… Here we go again…" Tomori then leaned closer to his group. "Akira, Reika, Miya, You guys walk next to me. Flan, Ivaran, Riri, protect Miya from the sides and her behind. The rest of you must be aware of your surroundings. There's no telling if there's another shadow who tries to assassinate the princess."
All of them silently agree as they move forward. Tomori stood in front, exchanging glances with a blonde haired man in chainmail, holding a basic spear.
"Tomori… You have gone too far than you should! Kidnapping the princess?! Are you kidding me?! And don't let me get started on Bradforde! I want you to return the princess and surrender yourself!" Tadashi demanded angrily as he slowly approached him. He then turned his attention towards the other heroes. "And you two! "First of all, did she look like being kidnapped here? She was not even resisting in the first place." Tomori answered. "And secondly, I planned to do that after the queen arrived in this country. After all, I wanted a proper trial."
"'Proper trial'? Don't give me that bullsh*t! You're a f*cking murderer! People like you shouldn't get any rights to roam freely like this!"
Tomori can't deny any poison that Tadashi spit at him. It's true, he killed people. First, he killed Cunningfield because he made those innocent people suffer. And then, killed hundreds of people for revenge of a person that lost everything. Sure, he didn't do it, but he ALLOWED it to happen.
"What you said about me is true. But I don't kill people because I feel like it. You think I, a normal person before becoming a hero, can kill a human being without any remorse at all? Those people who fall on my blade are not good people at all, Tadashi."
"What Tomori said is right. After all, I'm one of their victims." Reika spoke up. "This is not a game, Tadashi. As much as you wanted to believe it, this is bigger than you, me, Akira and Tomori."
"She's right. We didn't kidnap the princess here. We may not have any proof right now, but we're simply doing it for her safety." Akira also spoke up.
"Besides that, there's no benefit for me to kidnap the princess here. If I did that, I would become a national threat to this country. Which would make my life even harder than it should be."
Miya then walked forward while clearing her throat.
"What the Blade Hero says is true. There's no benefit for him to kidnap me, Shaft Hero. I wanted to have an audience about this matter with the king."
"What?!" Tomori then whispered to Miya. "That's not part of the plan!"
"Calm down a little! I know my life here is in line, but running away right now is pointless. Let me talk with my father first. I know he didn't like the Blade Hero in the first place, but he's a reasonable person! He would understand that. But in order to do that… You might need to be held onto the dungeon until mother arrives."

Miya ignored him and continued to speak.
"The Blade Hero has already agreed to be held inside the dungeon until the queen arrives for his trial and the royal knight, Flan Bassett, trial. I wanted all of you to lower down your weapons and return back to your post immediately."
Tadashi is thinking about what he should do now. Should he trust what they said about Tomori agreeing to be held in the dungeon for his trial? He's lost right now. He thinks about every choice that he could make in his mind. Until…

And then, a voice that Tomori didn't even want to hear in his whole life appeared in front of him.

Both Tadashi and Miya reacted to her.
"Don't believe what they said! The church has found out that the Blade Demon has the power to manipulate someone's mind without them realising!"
"What?!" All of the people there were shocked to hear such news.
"What kind of person who would believe that-"
"I see…! So that's why all of these people follow you, huh?! And it also can affect other heroes as well… I need to be careful." But lo and behold, there's a fool on the field.
"Sister! What kind of absurdity are you saying right now?!"
"Wait a minute! If Tomori really has that power, then why wouldn't he use it on you guys?! That doesn't even make any sense at all!" Reika exclaimed.
"And if that's true, then we could also do that as well." Akira said to them.
"Oh, poor thing… Don't worry, we will make you free from his grasp." The red head says while smirking.
"How can we release them from Tomori's control?" Tadashi asked her.
"We can capture them and let the priest heal them. Or… We can kill the Blade Demon and the effect will disappear instantly."
"That b*tch! She really wanted to kill me after all…!"
"That's…" Tadashi looked uncertain at first. He gripped his spear tightly and then faced Tomori directly to his face. "I understand. For the peace of this world, I shall carry the sin."
"Don't act cool your dumbass! You're going to commit a f*cking murder here!" Tomori then spoke up. "Wait! Think this thoroughly, Tadashi! I don't have any benefit-"
"Shut up!" He shushed him off. "Now I see why they call you a demon, Tomori… You're a reincarnation of it yourself!"
"I'm not! I'm human! A damn human! I'm not a demon!"
"Say it however you like! I'm going to release them from your brainwashing!" He then charged towards him. " Comet Thrust!"
"Damn it! Blade Bash!" Tomori bashed his sword blade on the spear tip, sending Tadashi flying towards the walls.
"Tadashi-sama!" The red haired princess then goes to see if he's okay or not.
"The demon has struck back! Defend our country! For our god!"
The knights then marched towards them.
" All High Wind Barricades III!" Akira cast wind barricades in front of the knights.
"As the source of power, hear my words and let me absorb the element in front of me to empower my attack!" Reika started chanting a spell.
" Low Verzaubern V!"
Small particles from the wind barricades went towards Reika's bow.
" Combination Skill! Wind Spread Shot!"
She released the arrow, which split into multiple arrows and hit the knights. Not only that, the arrows also pierce through the knights' body, without damaging their body, and hit the other knights on the back.
"Quick! We need to-"
" All High Fireball!" The red haired princess shouted as a huge fireball went towards them.
"Sh*t!" The attack is too fast for Tomori to dodge. " Spinning Blade!"
In the end, he used his defense skill to protect himself.
" High Shadow Barrier!"
Both Ivaran and Thea cast the spell to protect everyone that's near them. After the fireball went down, Tomori looked the princess dead in the eyes.
"That woman… The direction of the spell went towards Ivaran, Flan and Miya first. Which means… Is she even willing to kill her own little sister? For the damn throne?!"
"Are you out of your mind?! This attack can even kill your sister!" Reika yelled at the red haired princess.
"Don't sweat it, Reika. She's going to kill her for the throne." Tomori said outloud.
"I see… That makes sense now! We need to get out of here as fast as we can!"
"No, I need to go out from here and TP us out. I need you guys to distract them-"
" Comet Javelin!"

Tomori instantly deflected the spear.
"You're not… Going anywhere!" Tadashi yelled at him.
"Ugh… Can't this get any worse-"
"Knights! Support the First Princess and the Shaft Hero!"
Unfortunately, the dozens of knights from near the castle have recovered and are currently marching towards them.
"F*ckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!" Tomori screams internally.
"You do that while we distract him. Come on guys, let's go!" Reika shouted.
"Thanks a bunch. And Ivaran, make sure the princess doesn't blast off any spells on your guys." Tomori said to him.
"What?! Are you still-"
"I understand! Please stay near me, Princess Miya." Ivaran brings her closer to him.
"O-O-Okay!"
"Okay, she's not a Tsundere."
Tomori then faced Tadashi and the red haired princess.
"Before we begin, let me tell you this. My level is 101."
"What?! 101?!" Tadashi is surprised to hear that. But it came to him that those numbers come from the hundreds of people that Tomori killed. "Even their deaths benefit you, huh?! And you dare to use them against me?"
"Yeah, I am."
"Damn it! May, support me with magic!"
"Okay! High Flare Burst!" She cast a spell that went to Tadashi's spear.
" Combination Skill! Comet Flare Javelin!"
The flaming spear went towards Tomori.
" Skeleton Edge!" Tomori did an upward slash using TBKDCS, and waves of bones appeared from the ground and stopped the spear from reaching him.
"What?!"
"Hah!" Tomori leaped over and thrust his sword at Tadashi.
" Whirlwind!" In response, Tadashi spun his spear quickly to block the sword thrust.
" Blade Whip!" Tomori's sword balde turned to a whip, and then he lash it at the spinning spear.
"What?!"
He successfully binded the spear shaft. Tomori pulled it, which also pulled Tadashi as well.
"Wah!"
As Tadashi got closer to him, Tomori's right foot started letting out red lightning charge.
"The great thing about magic is that not only you can cast it using your hands…" Tomori raised his feet upward. "But you can also do it like this!"
He then kicks Tadashi on the chest.
" Low Shock Burst III!"
Boom*
The spell exploded the moment his foot touched Tadashi's chest. It also sends him backwards while Tomori is just standing still.
" Cough* Cough*" The Shaft Hero stood up while coughing. He saw that his HP is under 60%. He quickly grabbed a potion from his inventory and drank it.
"Tadashi-sama!" The red haired princess then went to his side.
"May, I need some magic support!"
"Alright! As the source of power, hear my words and empower my target with mighty strength!"
" High Power!"
"As the source of power, hear my words and do NOT empower the target with mighty strength!"
" Stornieren! High Power!"
Tomori instantly cancelled the spell.
"What?! Cancellation Magic?! How did you learn that?!" The red haired princess screamed at him.
"Well, let's just say that I have a great teacher." And by that, Tomori meant Akira, and also Emil to a certain degree. "Just give up, Tadashi. You can't defeat me, not you as of now."
"No, I won't give up! Hah! Drill Shaver!" Tadashi thrust his spear at Tomori, who easily blocked it. "I won't give up! Not until I save them from you!"
"Is it me or do I feel like the villain right now? Can't we just get over this quickly…"
"I'm going to defeat you, Tomori! I'm going to defeat you… Demon!" Tadashi's voice started to change.
"What?" Tomori pushed him away.
" I… I see! This weapon here… Yes! I can defeat you with this!" His eyes and spear gemstone turned to green. Not only that, his spears started to change into something sinister, turning all black.
"Sh*t!" Tomori just realised what's happening to Tadashi right now. He dashed towards him. " Strike Edge-"
" Extend Shaft!" Tadashi's spear shaft suddenly extended and pushed Tomori backwards.
"He… Overpowered me?" Tomori regains his standing and carefully observes Tadashi.
" With this, you're going down! Rupture Thrust!"
" Blade Bash!"

Both of their weapons clash with each other. Suddenly, green mist comes out from Tadashi's spear.
"This is…!" Tomori dashed backwards, getting away from the mist. "That mist… It's the same type as Self Curse Mist S. Getting closer to it will drop my stats. Time to switch to a long range attack!"
Tomori stabbed his sword to the ground.
" Hundred Blades!"
Hundreds of swords spawn in the sky and go to Tadashi.
" It's futile! Whirlwind!" He deflected all of the swords.
" Comet Slash!" Tomori then used his favourite long range skill on him.
" Too slow! Hah! Comet Javelin!" After he finished deflecting all the swords, he threw the black spear at the attack.
Boom*
The javelin overpowered the attack and went straight towards Tomori.
" Typhoon Edge!" Tomori used the skill to change the direction of the javelin.
" It's not over! Aiming Lancer! Hundred Javelins!"
Hundred javelins appeared in the sky and went straight to Tomori.
"Sh*t! This javelin is on me!" Tomori started running to get away from the javelins. " Blade Whip! Hah!"
He used it to destroy a few javelins that came his way. However, he forgot about one more thing.
" High Flare Squall!" The existence of the red haired b*tch.
Now, there's several javelins coming at him on the back while fire rain is coming from the front. Despite that, he's going to minimise the damage that he received.
First, he changed his weapon from TBKDCS to SoAII. Then, he quickly cast a spell.
" Low Lightning Barrier V!"
A red sphere made out of lightning covered his body from the spell. However, it's not strong enough to handle the curse boosted javelins.
Crash*
The sphere broke and the javelins hit his body.
"Argh!"
Not only that, the fire rain hits his back, causing less damage as he already gets his MDEF boosted with SoAII.
"Hah!" Riri dealt a combo hit on the knight. "Where did all of this knights comes from anyway-"
A shadow came by to stab her from behind.

However, Flan deflected the dagger from the shadow hand and proceeded to stab their chest.
"All of these knights are from neighbouring towns. They come here using the other gates." He answered her question.
" Hydro Shot! Scarlet Shot!" Reika continuously uses her skills. "There are too many of them!"
" Sunlight Beam! Air Needle!" Akira also continuously uses her skills as well. "It's like a zombie apocalypse here… I wonder when Tomori is going to teleport us."
"Considering his strength, he should be able to defeat Tadashi easily. Which means he had troubles against him. Can anyone come out from here and check whether he's in trouble or not?!" Reika shouted.
"Sorry, Miss Reika! Thea, Rylon and I are quite busy here!" Lowri replied.
"I need to be here to identify where the shadows are hiding." Mizune replied.
"I-I can't go! There's too many of them!" Emil replied.
"I'm protecting Princess Miya, so I can't go either!" Ivaran replied. "Riri, can you go and check whether Tomori-san is okay or not?!"
"I wanted to, but there's too many knights! High Chain Lightning!" She released a spell that knocked out the knights that surrounded her. But the other knights then came by to surround her again. "Every time I knock them down, they will still appear!"
"Tomori-san…"
" Cough* Cough*" Tomori started coughing. "That took around 10% of my HP… The Curse Series is strong, I admit. But It came with a cost. I just need to wait for a chance to strike back!"
Tomori then stood up, preparing his next attack-
" Rupture Thrust!" Only for Tadashi to appear in front of him.
"ARGH!!!" He gets sent back from the attack.
" Erst Javelin! Zweite Javelin!"
The two javelins hit Tomori's left shoulder and right knee. This also makes Tomori's sword change back to the Small Sword.
"It hurts so bad…" Tomori checks his HP, only to see it's around 45% "How the hell is his Curse Series getting stronger… Is it because it's reacting to his emotions? What kind of series that he unlock-"

Tadashi appears in front of Tomori, who's lying on the ground and injured.
"Sh*t! Second-ARGH!!!" Tomori tried to use his skill, but Tadashi stabbed his right shoulder.
He then pulled out his spear, letting blood flow out from Tomori's right shoulder. Tomori breathed heavily as he tried to withstand the pain. Tadashi then let out the mist from his weapon, lowering Tomori's stats.
" It's over, Tomori. You lose." Tadashi said to him.
There's nothing Tomori can do now. If he tries to do anything, Tadashi will just stab his limbs again.
Thud* Thud* Thud*
The sound of footsteps can be heard near them.
"Tadashi-sama!" It was the red haired princess. "Quick! Finished him off! Before he regains his strength!"
"Okay…" He raised his spear up to the sky and looked directly at Tomori. "..."
Tadashi saw his own reflection on Tomori's dark brown eyes. After that, he looks at Tomori, who's in a state that he can't even defend himself from his attack.
The Shaft Hero's hands started shaking, hesitating to finish the so-called "demon" in front of him. After all, what he is about to do is the same as what the "demon" had done before.Train of thought went through his mind, as he tried to decide what to do now.
"What are you waiting for, Tadashi-sama! Finish him now! Or the victims of his brainwashing will continue to suffer!" The red haired princess shouted.
And with that, he had decided what to do next. He spun his spear around and pointed the spear tip at Tomori's chest. In Tomori's eyes, Tadashi saw the tip of his own spear. His pupils started to shrink after seeing the spear tip.
Tadashi gripped his spear tightly and thrust it onto Tomori's chest.
" Drill… Shaver!"
The spear broke through Tomori's breastplate and pierced his chest.
"ARGH!!!" Blood spurt out from his chest as the spear is drilling it.
Tadashi closed his eyes, and pretended to be deaf so that he couldn't see or hear Tomori's agony in front of him.

" SELF CURSE BURNING S!!!" Tomori suddenly yelled. Crimson red flames then come out from his sword, making Tadashi back down.
" Argh… These flames are hot…" Tadashi mutters as he looks at Tomori, who's standing up while blood comes out from his mouth, nose, right shoulder and chest. His eyes and sword gemstone turned to purple while his sword turned all black.
"Why… Do you close your eyes?" Tomori asked him. "You're afraid to kill a person, huh, Tadashi? You're afraid to know that you're about to become a murderer, aren't you? Cough* Cough*" Tomori said while coughing up blood.
" S-Shut up! I'm not like you!"
"Yes… We're different. You're a hero, and I'm the demon. And it's the hero's job to kill a demon, isn't it. That's how fantasy stories go by…"
Stomp* Stomp* Stomp*
Tomori then started stomping the ground.
"I'VE BEEN TELLING ALL OF THEM THAT I DIDN'T DO IT! I'M NOT A DEMON! I'M A HERO! JUST LIKE THE THREE OF YOU! AND FOR SOME REASON, THEY HATE ME! THEY DESPISE ME! THEY WANTED TO KILL ME AND THOSE WHO SUPPORT ME! I TRIED TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT, BUT IT ALWAYS ENDED UP IN A BAD WAY, ALL OVER AGAIN, AGAIN, AGAIN, AND AGAIN!!!"
Tears started leaking out from his eyes, and he knelt down to the ground.
"I just… Wanted to go home… To see my family, eat my mom's cooking, and have a conversation with my sister about Otaku stuff… I asked nothing more but that… Not all of this…"
Tadashi is speechless, seeing Tomori like this. He senses no lies from his ranting. He's confused. Isn't Tomori a bastard who doesn't have any kind of remorse at all? After all the things he did, how can he shed his tears like this?
"Tadashi-sama! Finish him now!" The red haired princess yelled at him, but he didn't move an inch. "What are you doing?! This is the perfect chance to finish off the demon!"
Even with her yelling, he still didn't move a bit.
"Again with calling me a demon…" Tomori stood up while wiping off his tears. Purple aura started to surround his body "Fine then… I'm no longer the Blade Hero… As of this moment… I'm the Blade Demon!"
An immense burst of emotions has caused the Curse Series to grow up!

" Indeed. I wonder why I didn't do this from the very beginning. How foolish of me."
"Do it, Tadashi-sama! Before he wreaks havoc onto our world!" The red haired princess said while smirking.
" R-Right!" Tadashi prepared his spear to attack Tomori. " Comet Thrust!"

A huge shockwave and smoke appears after Tadashi hits Tomori with his spear.
" Weak. Click*" Tomori snapped his left finger, which made the smoke disappear instantly. " Your Curse Series are weak compared to mine. Begone from my sight, Hero."
Tomori punched Tadashi's face with his left hand, knocking him down to the ground. His weapon turned back into the Small Spear. He then looked at the red haired princess.
"W-What are you looking at me?!"
" Hmm… I'm a demon, so of course a princess would be my first target, isn't it?"
Tomori walked closer to her.
"S-Stay away from me, you fiend! High Fire Arrow!"
" Stornieren! High Fire Arrow!"
" High Flame Wave!"
" Stornieren! High Flame Wave! Waste your MP. I can do this all day long." Tomori said to her. " After all, what can a vile, horrendous woman like you can do? I can't believe that you're a royalty. Even your little sister has her own charm that you didn't have. Now I think of it, your mother must have realised that you're unfit to become the next heir. That's why your little sister was born. To replace a failure like you."
"Grr…! WHY YOU!!!" She then unsheathed her sword and rushed at Tomori.
" Chain Bind!"
A chain warped itself onto the red haired princess.
"GUH! LET ME GO, YOU BASTARD!" She retorted.
" Why would I? Your life serves no purpose at all. All you do is cause chaos all over the place. If I'm your father, I would just throw you to Bradforde and let them work you like a slave. At least your life does serve a purpose."
"JUST SHUT UP AND DIED!!!" She yelled at him.
" My, my, what an awful scream that was." He then knelt down to look at her with pity. " Come on, do something to entertain me."

" Oh, my… I'm sure that my punch from earlier is strong enough to knock a person out. Oh well, this is not a part of my plan, but I'll take it either way."
The red haired princess' face turned grim when she noticed that Tadashi was awake the whole time.
"Is that… What do you really think about me?" Tadashi asked her.
"N-No! Tadashi-sama! Of course not! It's all to trick the demon! That's all!"
"B-But…" Tadashi is so confused right now.
From Tomori's rant to May's rant, everything doesn't make sense. However, Tomori's rant is more expressed at the fact this country treated him like a demon and he just wanted to get home. On the other hand, May's rant is about how she wanted to framed Tomori for rape charges, about how the church is obsessed with killing him, about how she wanted to kill her own little sister, and most importantly, about how she viewed Tadashi.
"You need to believe me, Tadashi-sama!" She still continues to make him believe her.
"I-I… I don't know anymore…" Tadashi then sat down on the ground, staring at it.
"Ugh…! You're so damn useless!" She exclaimed.
Suddenly, Tomori felt a presence around him.
" Hah!" He slashes in a certain direction.
"Grr!"
He was right, there's a group of shadows around him. If he's correct, their target would be…

A shadow appears beside the red haired princess and break the chains that bind her.
" Sh*t! Tadashi! That red haired b*tch! Don't let them take her away!"
"Huh?" He looked up, just to see several shadows going towards them. "Woah! Whirlwind!"
He spun his spear around to gain distance from the shadows.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Remember this! I will make your life a living hell! I will make it! HAHAHAHAHA!!!" The red haired princess said as she and the other shadows disappeared.
" Tch! Damnit!" Tomori smashed his greatsword onto the ground. " Sigh*"
He sighed as he looked at the sky. Then, he turned his attention towards the other hero besides him.
Tadashi sat down on the ground, reflecting on what had already happened today. A few tears fell out from his eyes.
Tomori changed his weapon back into the SoAII, which turned him back to normal.
"So… Since all of this happened, what are you going to do now? The church is going after you too." Tomori asked him.
"I… Don't know what to do now…" He replied. There's a tone of hopelessness in his eyes. "I don't even know who to trust any more…"
"Well…" Tomori started to scratch his head. "I know we're not exactly on the good terms right now. But you can depend on me if anything happens. I'm not asking you to trust me, but I will lend you a hand if you need any help. So, let me ask you once again. What will you do now?"
Tadashi then raises his head to face Tomori.
"I… Need some time alone…"
"Alright, then." Tomori then pulls something out of his Inventory and throws it at him.
Tadashi looked at the thing that Tomori threw at him.
"This is…"
"A book that contains precise details about our weapon functions. It also contains the Power Up Methods. But you need to trust it exists in order to use it. This would be difficult for you to do now, but I know you will accept it someday." Tomori walked past him. "Well, see you later."
Tomori continued to run towards the main gate.
"Tomori!" Tadashi yelled his name. The said man then turned his head around. "I'm sorry… For everything that I said and done to you…"
Tomori saw that his apology is truly genuine, not like some of those "YouTube Apology Videos" that he had seen before.
"Nevermind that. You don't know about it either. Both of us are the victims here. I too make mistakes that cost lives. However, I will do my best in order to not repeat the same mistake ever again. Even if they don't appreciate my effort, I will still do it for me to become the better version of myself. I hope you can do that too, Tadashi."
He turned his head around and made the run for the exit.
"Come on… I'm on the outside of the castle… It should work already!"

As he reaches the fields, the option to teleport appears on the status window.
"Yes! Finally! Transport Blade!" Tomori teleported all of their party members to the safe area that they had built.
