Pokémon: Sinnoh no Isekai

Chapter Two-hundred and fifty-nine: Sinnoh Lore Quest, part one

The reborn trainers found themselves back in their home region of Sinnoh, resting in Twinleaf Town. But although Dawn got a notification that her next opponent in the Ultra Rank just so happened to be Bertha of Sinnoh's elite four and that the battle will be held in a stadium in Sunyshore City seven days from the point that Dawn got the notification while in Twinleaf Town, the reborn trainers did NOT necessarily come back home to Sinnoh for the World Coronation Series. Rather, they had come back home to Sinnoh for a different task, a task that Dawn, Kenny, and Trip had to undertake.

In a shared dream the three of them had, they were met up by a stone tablet resembling a smartphone in an Arceus themed phone case. The tablet told the reborn trainers to catch all of the legendary and mythical Pokémon of Sinnoh, as having all of them between Dawn, Kenny, and Trip will summon an 'ultimate key' that will let them access a power that they were told they'd be needing as the voice of the stone tablet implied there would be a region wrecking threat coming about, one that made Team Scorn's actions in Lumiose City, Kalos look like child's play.

The task of catching all of Sinnohs legends and myths wasn't going to be as hard as one would initially assume, given that between Dawn, Kenny, and Trip, they had already caught many of the necessary Pokémon from the list. All that remained to catch were Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Regigigas, Cresselia, Heatran, and Phione. It was Trip who suggested that they focus on the Lake Trio of Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf first, as they were part of a set and it would be helpful to get whole sets of likened Pokémon out of the way. Dawn, Kenny, and Mina all agreed, although Dawn worried Mespirt may be a roamer.

Regardless, the reborn trainers went about the task of capturing the Lake Trio. Viewing Mesprit as the most likely most difficult member of the Lake Trio to capture as it had a history in the games in the previous lives of the reborn trainers of being a roamer, Dawn and the others all decided to hit up Lake Verity first. The reborn trainers also took several precautions in case Mesprit tried to lead them on a cross region chase, such as Mina rotating her shiny Umbreon into her party as it knows how to use the move Mean Look, which prevents wild Pokémon from escaping battle.

The reborn trainers all surfed their way across the waters of Lake Verity, reaching the cave in the center. They went into the cave, with Kenny even having the idea of having Black block off the exit, sealing it up so much that Mesprit wouldn't be able to run out of the cave. Speaking of, Mesprit itself was floating in the middle of the cave, around at eye level for the revborn trainers. Dawn, with Trip and Mina following her (Kenny stayed behind with Black and Mina's Umbreon) walked up towards the center of the cave, saw that Mesprit was asleep when found.

But Mesprit's eyes popped open when Dawn got close enough. Suddenly, a telepathic voice filled the air. "I had foreseen your arrival, hero who had saved my fellows and I when that madman attepted to invoke the powers of Dialga and Palkia," the voice said, making Dawn realize that Mesprit itself was communicating with her and the others telepathically, "I know why you come. You and your companions seek to gather the full might of the lore of Hisui in order to combat a foreseen threat that could wipe out a land as great as Hisui itself."

Dawn knew that Mesprit was talking about Sinnoh when it said Hisui, and it didn't surprise Dawn that a legendary Pokémon with psychic powers not only foresaw the arrival of Dawn and her companions, but also was able to tell why Dawn and her companions sought Mesprit out. "I am willing to lend you my aid for your goal," said the telepathic voice of Mesprit, "But I must first test you, Girl who had won Palkia's allegiance. A test to see if you truly are in tune with your emotions. Pass to a level that meets my satisfaction, and I will agree to be yours."

"You wish to test my emotions?" Dawn asked.

Mesprite nodded in the affirmative. "I will ask you a series of questions putting you in various hypothetical situations," Mesprit's telepathic voice said, "You must consider each question carefully, truly reflect on yourself, then answer me honestly. Are you ready?"

Dawn took a calming breath to steady herself. "...I'm ready."

"Here is your first question," Mesprit began, "Say you were to get fat, gaining weight until stopping at two-hundred kilograms. How would being so obese make you feel?"

Trip and Mina were surprised that Mesprit asked Dawn about how she'd feel if she got fat for real; did Mesprit somehow know how some folks thought Dawn's weight was fluctuating for real because of her roles in the Kenny Harris Studios movies? Dawn closed her eyes and thought about how she'd feel if she did indeed end up getting so well fed for real. Opening her eyes, Dawn said to Mesprit, "I'd be indifferent to it to be honest, aside from some annoyance with how it'd make traveling tougher for me, as well not liking how it'd be putting unnecessary burden on my Pokémon that I ride around."

Mesprit considered Dawn for a moment before nodding once in understanding. "Yes, that is acceptable," Mesprit's telepathic voice said, "Very well."

"Question," Kenny said as he raised a hand, "Why ask Dawn about how she'd feel if she got fat?"

"It is to my understanding that human females typically do not like being fat," replied Mesprit's telepathic voice, "I wanted to see how the Girl who had won Palkia's allegiance would react if she herself were to become fat." Mesprit turned back to face Dawn. "Here is your second question. How would you react to it if a Pokémon under your ownership were to die?"

Again, the reborn trainers were surprised by Mesprit's questioning of Dawn, it was clear it wanted to get real emotional answers. "In what way did the Pokémon in question die?" Dawn asked.

"As yes, such a hypothetical situation requires further context in order to give a more accurate answer," Mesprit's telepathic voice replied, "In this case, the Pokémon in question died from some manner of illness it acquired due to reaching old age. No outside factors are involved, and the Pokémon did not meet its end due to violence by either accident, misadventure, or intentional villainous efforts."

Dawn let out a troubled sigh. "...I would be devastated if one of my Pokémon were to die," Dawn said, "Even if it's due to getting sick in old age. Losing someone close to you can never be simply brushed off as if it were no big deal. Such a loss will stick, sometimes for ages." Dawn and the others had seen their fair share of death ever since they came to this world, they've seen how it can affect others. Trip is still affected in such a matter as his biological mother in this world was killed. And there's no doubt Ideku Badorigo is still feeling the sting from his older brother Katsuku getting killed.

Mesprit considered Dawn for a moment before giving another understanding nod. "Yes, that is acceptable," Mesprit's telepathic voice said, "Very well. Here is your third question. How would you feel if you were to encounter an alternatively colored, or 'shiny' as you humans have dubbed the matter, Pokémon in the wild?"

"Excited, obviously," Dawn replied without even thinking. But then again such a response did not require thinking; shiny Pokémon being found in the wild always made one's heart race with excitement, and Dawn was no different.

Once more, Mesprit considered Dawn for a moment before giving another understanding nod. "Yes, that is acceptable," Mesprit's telepathic voice said, "Very well. Here is your fourth question. I had foreseen it that you had defeated Hisui's top trainer in some manner of official competition and took her place as Hisui's top trainer. How did you feel when you won that battle against the woman you took that title from?"

Dawn was surprised that Mesprit was actually asking her about how she felt when she defeated Cynthia and took her title of Champion of Sinnoh. After reflecting back on that day for a moment, Dawn replied, "Honestly, I was a little surprised that I had won, even with what all I had done to prep for that battle. I was also feeling relieved when the battle was over, relieved that it was over either way."

After considering Dawn for a moment, Mesprit nodded once again in understanding. "Yes, that is acceptable, although you didn't need to fret so much as you had Palkia by your side. But I suppose some humans can garner reputations that would make even one backed by Palkia feel nervous." Looking to Dawn, Mesprit said, "Here is your fifth question. How will you feel if the current villainous force threatening the regions of the world were to be stopped and dealt with for good?"

Now Mesprit was asking Dawn how she'd feel if threats to the regions of the world were done away with for good, if everything was at peace. In such a situation, Dawn would see that Team Scorn would be no longer a thing, similar to what happened to Team Rocket. Looking to Mesprit, Dawn said, "Relieved. I would feel relieved if all threats to the regions of the world were dealt with, done away with for good." Gently shaking her head, Dawn said, "And I fully intend to do my part to see such a result come to pass."

Mesprit, where it floated in the cave at Lake Verity, gave a small smile. "Yes, that is very much acceptable. Very well." Mesprit then floated on over to Dawn and bowed its head to her. "I am yours. Let us see to unlocking the power needed to save other lands from great catastrophe."

Surprised to see that Mesprit was simply going to let Dawn capture it, Dawn nonetheless too out an Ultra Ball and used on Mesprit, successfully capturing it. "It... it just wanted to test your emotional responses," Mina said in ,mildly stunned surprise as Dawn collected the ball that held her newly caught Mesprit.

"Kinda reminds me of part of how Mesprit in PLA was dealt with," Trip remarked. Turning to look at Dawn, Trip asked, "You gonna name Mesprit?"

"Not yet, actually," Dawn said, "I feel like we ought to focus on getting everything else we need to get that 'ultimate key' so that we can get that power to help with stopping region-wrecking threats." The reborn trainers were actually rather surprised with how easy it was to capture Mesprit, Kenny especially so as he realized that all of the precautions taken to prevent Mesprit from rabbiting was for nothing.

But regardless, Mesprit was caught. There was only six more specific Pokémon to capture.

The reborn trainers next went to Lake Acuity, where Uxie was expected to be dwelling. Dawn and Kenny hadn't been to Lake Acuity since they saw the final battle of ideals between Paul and Ash, where Ash won and Paul was started on his redemption arc. Uxie was not a roamer in the video games in the previous lives of the reborn trainers, so they didn't feel the need to try and block off any possible path of escape for Uxie. The four reborn trainers entered the cave in the middle of Lake Acuity, going inwards until they saw Uxie floating in the middle of the cave. When the reborn trainers first saw it, Uxie looked to be sleeping, similar to how Mesprit was found in the cave at Lake Verity.

Uxie, although it didn't open its eyes, still perked up when it sensed the reborn trainers approach. "I had foreseen your arrival in my slumber, heroes who saved me and my fellows from the madman who sought to use Dialga and Palkia to craft his own utopia," a telepathic voice speaking to the reborn trainers called out, and it was then they realized that the voice was coming from Uxie itself, it was speaking to them telepathically like how Mesprit had done when it was quizzing Dawn on her emotional reactions back at Lake Verity. Uxie turned to face Kenny. "Boy who had won Giratina's allegiance," Uxie said telepathically, "I shall be testing you. I had foreseen why you and your group sought me out here, and I am willing to lend you my aid. But I must first test you."

"How so, oh wise and knowledgeable mighty magic fairy?" Kenny asked.

"I will test your knowledge with a series of questions," Uxie's telepathic voice said, "Think of the test as being akin to the trivia game humans play with one another from time to time."

Relaxing a bit, Kenny said, "Oh sweet, Trivial Pursuit." For reasons that escaped them, Dawn and Trip both felt worried about Kenny being able to pass Uxie's test of trivia. Gesturing to Uxie, Kenny said, "I'm ready when you are."

"Very well," Uxie's telepathic voice said, "Here is your first question. A battle occurred here at Lake Acuity a while ago, between a gruff boy who straightened up after the battle and a boy wearing a hat accompanied by a Pikachu who is always out of its ball. How many of the gruff boy's Pokémon were knocked out in that battle by the hat wearing boy's Charizard?"

So Uxie was asking Kenny about the Lake Acuity battle between Ash and Paul, something that Kenny was present for so it shouldn't be too hard to answer if Kenny was able to remember clearly. "Three," Kenny said, "Charizard knocked out three opposing Pokémon."

"Correct," Uxie's telepathic voice said, "Here is your second question. Your female companion wearing the hat, she had become the strongest trainer here in Hisui in an official battle, taking the title from its prior holder. In the battle they had, how many of your companion's Pokémon were still able to continue battling after the battle had come to an end?"

Now Uxie was asking about the Championship title match Dawn won against Cynthia, asking how many of Dawn's Pokémon were left still able to battle by the time Dawn had won. "Four of them," Kenny answered, "And I believe the four in question are Infernape, Staraptor, Lucario, and Palkia."

"Correct," Uxie's telepathic voice replied, "And your showing of remembering detail is truly impressive, it shows that your knowledge is very strong indeed. Here is your third question. You have a Tyranitar that is indeed very mighty, but it still always falls in battle to a specific kind of opponent. What is the specific kind of opponent your Tyranitar has yet to defeat?"

The reborn trainers were surprised that Uxie was now asking Kenny about how his named Tyranitar Godzilla, despite being strong as it is a pseudo-legend, still tends to get knocked out in battle, and against a specific variety of opponents. Sighing in a mildly annoyed tone, Kenny said, "Yeah, Godzilla is constantly Worfed by fully evolved starter Pokémon. Usually ones belonging to members of Team Scorn."

"Correct," Uxie's telepathic voice replied, and Kenny wasn't really fond of being reminded about how Godzilla tends to not fare very well against fully evolved starters. "Here is your fourth question," Uxie's telepathic voice went on, "How does the Pokémon Scyther evolve into Scizor?"

Now Uxie was asking Kenny how to evolve a Scyther into a Scizor, something Kenny ought to know well as he has his shiny Scizor Cell. Kenny opened his mouth to speak, but stoped short. "...Hang on a minute there," Kenny asked, "Are you asking about the modern day method to evolve Scyther into Scizor, or is there a method from Sinnoh's Hisuian period that is the method you're asking about?"

"There's a difference?" Uxie's telepathic voice replied.

Nodding once, Kenny said, "Yeah, here in the modern day, Scyther has to hold a Metal Coat and be traded to another trainer with a Pokémon trading machine in order to be evolved into Scizor. But such a machine obviously didn't exist back in the Hisuian period, so is there a difference there?"

"In the time of old Hisui," Uxie's telepathic voice replied, "One only need simply use the Metal Coat on Scyther to evolve it into Scizor, no trading is necessary. I was not aware that the method had changed over time for evolving Scyther into Scizor. My apologies, I had asked you a question based on outdated information. I'll count that as a correct answer as compensation." I would seem that at the very least, Uxie was playing fair and being a good sportsman about testing Kenny, bringing a measure of relief to all of the reborn trainers.

But the testing was not done yet. "Here is your fifth question," Uxie's telepathic voice went on, "And the question is actually more of a riddle than standard trivia. I am stronger than the divine and more frightening than the unholy. The rich need me, the poor have me. If you eat only me, you will perish. What am I?"

The reborn trainers were surprised that Uxie's next question to Kenny was actually a riddle, and it seemed to be a fairly tricky one at that. Dawn had figured out a passable answer from how she felt about it, but she couldn't help Kenny. It would be a conclusion that he had to come to on his own. After Kenny thought about it for a moment, he gave his answer to Uxie. "Nothing."

"Correct," Uxie replied, "You do indeed have great ability to learn and retain knowledge, as well as thinking critically." Uxie then floated up to Kenny and bowed its head to him. "I am yours." Once again, a Lake Trio member was simply allowing itself to be captured, as the person it was testing had passed to its satisfaction. Kenny took out an Ultra Ball and used it to capture Uxie.

After Kenny picked up the Ultra Ball holding his newly caught Uxie, Dawn asked, "Are you gonna name it now, or hold off on it until later like how I'm doing for Mesprit?"

"Imma wanna wait on naming Uxie until after we get this 'ultimate key' that's at the end of capturing all of the legendaries and mythicals of Sinnoh," Kenny replied.

"Speaking of," Mina said as she folded her arms over her chest, "There's only one member of the Lake Trio left to capture."

Dawn nodded in the affirmative. "Yeah, Azelf. Back when Kenny and I were traveling through Sinnoh, during the events that led to Team Galactic summoning Dialga and Palkia at Spear Pillar, I had linked with Mesprit and Kenny had linked with Uxie. That said, it's fitting I caught Mesprit and Kenny caught Uxie."

Looking at Dawn, Mina said, "But neither I or Trip were there at the time, so who did Azelf link with?"

"Ash," Dawn replied, "And he sadly isn't part of our group charged with capturing all of Sinnoh's legends and myths."

"A Pokémon that had linked with my husbando," Trip said, "Yeah, I'll be catching Azelf." Dawn saw the look of determination on Trip's face, realized that Azelf having a link with Ash made it all the more appealing to Trip, who in his previous life was a girl whose anime husbando is Ash. A game plan was in mind as the reborn trainers left the cave at Lake Acuity and flew off on their dragons to head on down to Lake Valor.

The flight to Lake Valor didn't take very long, and after surfing across the waters, the reborn trainers made it to the cave in the center of the lake. They went inside and, after going in deep enough, they found Azelf floating in the middle of the cave. It was asleep while floating in the center of the cave, floating at around eye level with the reborn trainers. However, when they got close enough, Azelf's eyes popped wide open. "I had foreseen you heroes arriving," a telepathic voice, obviously from Azelf, had spoken up, "I had foreseen why you would seek me out."

Trip nodded in the affirmative. 'Yes. We need your help in getting an ultimate key to unlock a power to help us stop a potential region-wrecking threat."

"You are the Boy who had won Dialga's allegiance," Azelf's telepathic voice called out as Azelf itself focused on Trip, "Yes, I will be testing you to see if I can lend you my aid. But I will not test emotions like Mesprit would, nor will I test knowledge like Uxie would. No, I will test willpower, and there is only one method of testing that will be suitable for testing willpower."

The reborn trainers saw what Azelf was getting at. Mesprit is known as the Emotion Pokémon, so it gave Dawn a test to get the extent of her emotional strength. Uxie is known as the Knowledge Pokémon, so it gave Kenny a test to get the extent of how far his knowledge went. Azelf is known as the Willpower Pokémon, so it wants to test Trip in a way to get a reading on the extent of Trip's willpower. Dawn was having something of an itching feeling that the members of the Lake Trio were all going to be testing her and the others based on the domains they represent.

Looking to Azelf, Trip said, "So you're going to test my willpower. Fair enough. How will you test it?"

"By battle," Azelf's telepathic voice called out, surprising Trip and the others, "Your Pokémon against me in combat! Let us see whose willpower will let them prevail in the end!" Azelf nodded once to Trip. "I will wait to begin until after you send out your first Pokémon to battle me," Azelf's telepathic voice replied.

Seeing that a battle was to be had, Dawn, Kenny, and Mina backed up to give space for Trip and Azelf. Seeing that he had to battle Azelf, Trip had an idea. Sending out his first Pokémon for the battle, Trip called out, "Alright, Space Kitta! Let's kick some butt!" Coming out to battle against Azelf was Trip's named Celesteela, the Ultra Beast that Trip had caught back in the Alola region.

Despite the size difference, the minuscule Azelf was not the least bit intimidated by the towering Celesteela. Azelf kicked things off by blasting Celesteela with a powerful Psychic attack, but Celesteela's steel typing helped it tank the blow fairly well. "Space Kitta, use Heavy Slam!" Trip called out, making Space Kitta go up and come slaming right on down upon Azelf, making the Willpower Pokémon cry out in great pain. Heavy Slam, in addition to being a steel type move meaning that Space Kitta got STAB for using it, deals more damage the more the user outweighs the target.

If Dawn remembered correctly, then Azelf weighs a little under one pound, while Celesteela weighs well over two-thousand pounds. Sure, the damage probably calculated based on percentages, like the target being at least fifty percent of the user's weight, or the target weighing less than twenty percent of the user's weight. But given the vast difference in weight between the featherweight Azelf and the heavyweight Celesteela, Trip was bound to be getting the max possible damage output with Celesteela using Heavy Slam on Azelf.

Sure enough, Azelf was totally on its last legs after being hit by Space Kitta's Heavy Slam; it wasn't out of the running yet, but there was no denying how even being legendary didn't help Azelf shrug off an attack like that. Azelf decided to use Nasty Plot in order to bolster its special attack stat. As Azelf did that, Trip called out, "Space Kitta, use Seed Bomb!"

The named Celesteela conjured some hard large seeds and cast them at Azelf, with the seeds, many as big as Azelf itself, blowing up on contact. Azelf cried out in pain again and reeled back, eventually falling to the ground in the cave. "You... you truly are a willful trainer of great strength..." Azelf's telepathic voice called out, and even though it was telepathic is still sounded exhausted and mildly hurt, "Very... very well. I am yours, although I doubt I can resist capture either way, given the state that I am in right now."

Trip, given he had very obviously passed Azelf's test of willpower, took out a spare Ultra Ball and threw it at Azelf, successfully capturing it. As Trip collected the ball that held his newly caught Azelf, Mina said, "Well that's all of the members of the Lake Trio caught. And would it be safe to assume that you Trip plan to hold off on naming Azelf, like how Dawn and Kenny are holding off on naming Mesprit and Uxie?"

"Yeah, I feel we ought to wait on fun bits like coming up with names until after we get that ultimate key to unlock the power to help fend off region wrecking threats," Trip replied. All three of the members of the Lake Trio have been caught now, so that just left the reborn trainers with Regigigas, Cresselia, Heatran, and Phione. Dawn, when she remembered that Phione was on the list, had an idea on where to go so that either her, Trip, or Kenny can catch a Phione.

As it turned out, Dawn led the other reborn trainers to Chocovine Town, which had yearly festivals celebrating Phione as some tend to migrate to Chocovine Town's waters for a bit. Speaking of the Phione festival, another one was actually going on when the reborn trainers arrived. To the piqued surprise of the reborn Trainers, Roark the Oreburgh City gym leader was attending the current Phione festival in Chocovine Town, being followed by his now wife Maylene, the former leader of the Veilstone City gym. As expected of a former athlete who stopped her training but not her eating habits, Maylene was still very... well fed.

The reborn trainers sat down to a bit of a lunch with Roark and Maylene, and it was just the reborn trainers and Roark talking as Maylene was practically inhaling the vast amount of festival food she had gotten for herself. "I heard that you're going to be battling Bertha of Sinnoh's elite four in an official battle for the World Coronation Series in the Ultra Rank," Roark said to Dawn.

"Yeah, but where as Bertha is a member of Sinnoh's elite four, Dawn is Sinnoh's Champion," Kenny said, "Dawn's got that Sinnoh Champ swagger backing her up. I'm certain she'll do fine."

Arching a wry eyebrow, Roark asked, "Now what's this about going around Sinnoh to track down and capture all of the legendary and mythical Pokémon from Sinnoh region lore?"

"We... can't exactly get into details," Dawn said, "Outside of how we have reason to believe we need to capture all of the legendary and mythical Pokémon of Sinnoh lore in order to prevent a catastrophe capable of wrecking an entire region."

Roark went a bit wide-eyed with surprise. "Sounds pretty dicey. You know, if you guys need help with getting intel on the legendary and mythical Pokémon of Sinnoh's lore, I recommend calling up Cynthia for help. She's been known to study up on the myths and legends of not just Sinnoh but other regions as well." Relaxing his gaze a bit, Roark went on, "How many Pokémon by this point do you have left to capture?"

Holding up four fingers, Trip replied, "Only four, those being Heatran, Cresselia, Phione hence why we came here to Chocovine Town, and Regigigas."

"Feh, good luck trying to get Regigigas," Maylene scowled as she took a break from eating. Looking at the reborn trainers, Maylene went on, "Because it's already been caught by someone who has been able to do the impossible and out-jerk that jerkwad Paul."

"You mean Pyramid King Brandon?" Mina asked, "Yeah, the lads here and I figured that Regigigas would have to be saved for last as Brandon had already caught it. We're gonna have to reason with him, see if we can get him to agree to help out."

"And since when is the Pharaoh of the Pyramid a bigger jerk than Paul?" Kenny asked, sounding and looking equal parts mildly surprised and mildly amazed, "Because given how you still have something of a grudge against Paul, I figured he'd be the person you hate more than anyone."

"I still don't like Paul, believe you me," Maylene replied. The geeky looking obese girl let out a calming breath before going on, "But even Paul is the lesser of two evils when compared to Pyramid King Brandon."

Dawn folded her arms over her chest. "I'd like to know where this is coming from."

The other reborn trainers nodded in agreement, with Mina saying, "Come on, you two! You can dish!"

"It all stems from an incident during me and Maylene's honeymoon," Roark said, "The Battle Pyramid flew in and landed in a field right on the edge of the resort's property. Brandon came out as he got it I was entered into the World Coronation Series and immediately challenged me to an official battle for it."

"Brandon... crashed your honeymoon just to challenge you to a battle for the World Coronation Series," Dawn said.

Roark nodded in confirmation. "Maylene even walked up and told Brandon that she and I had gotten married and were on our honeymoon. But Brandon after giving off a disgusted sounding groan turned back to look at me to reiterate his challenging me. He wouldn't back down no matter how many times I told him I wasn't in the mood, so I eventually gave in and agreed to his challenge because he literally wouldn't go away otherwise. Expectedly, he won our one on one by having his Registeel defeat my Rampardos. He then talked down to me about how I had lost due to 'not being ready for battle as I should have been', then he hopped into his Battle Pyramid and flew away. Completely ruined the mood for the rest of me and Maylene's honeymoon, by the way."

"This happened while Brandon was still rising through the ranks before he started suffering a series of losses in the Great Class," Maylene said, "So that series of losses dealt him some of the karma he was owed. Didn't deal him enough, as he not only got back up, but last I heard he's inched close to breaking into the Ultra Class."

"I... actually recorded a video of the battle that Brandon lost in the Great Class that pushed him back into the Normal Class before he started winning again," Mina said, "And believe it or not, but it's Paul who Brandon lost that battle to." Mina got out her phone and played for Roark and Maylene the video of Paul beating Brandon. Granted, Maylene was a bit iffy as one of the Pokémon that Paul used was his Torterra, but the video overall still provided Maylene with some amusement as she saw the man who ruined her honeymoon with Roark getting his butt handed to him on a silver platter. Seeing Paul's Torterra go down in the battle also amused Maylene.

When asked by Dawn why he didn't consider reporting Brandon's actions, Roark said that he didn't think to do so, but if he did then he would have. Maylene would have also done what she could to ruin the Pyramid King as, ruining her and Roark's honeymoon aside, Brandon also made a disgusted groan noise upon seeing Maylene. No doubt because of her geeky, obese appearance. "Well look on the bright side," Trip said, "If the Pyramid King does break into the Ultra Class, he'll have Dawn to worry about. And although Brandon's Regis are great, Dawn has multiple Pokémon that are at a completely different and higher lev-"

"Gaahh!" Maylene cried out in surprise, cutting Trip off, "Something just poked the side of my butt!" Dawn leaned to her side to see what it was, and surprisingly enough it was a wild Phione that had come to shore. It was looking up at Maylene before hopping up a bit to poke her in the butt again, obviously wanting her attention for some odd reason or another as Maylene cried out again, but this time in more mild annoyance.

Since there was a Phione right there, Trip tossed up a Pokéball to call out Rikku, his named Manaphy. Since the reborn trainers were after Phione now, Trip figured that Manaphy who is connected to Phione could help with capturing a Phione. "Rikku, please reason with Phione here to learn why it keeps poking Maylene in her butt," Trip asked his named Manaphy.

Nodding once, Rikku hopped up to the wild Phione and spoke to it. After Rikku was done talking, the Phione spoke up in Pokémon-talk, taking time to gesture to Maylene. Rikku nodded once in understanding, then hopped up onto the table, took a cookie that Trip had, then hopped back down and handed the cookie to Phione, who took it and ate it up. "Phione's just hungry," Trip figured out. Looking to Maylene's place at the table and seeing that she still had a lot of food, Trip went on, "My guess is that Phione wanted some of the spread that you have there."

After Phione finished the cookie, Trip looked to Phione and said, "If you want, my friends and I can make sure you're provided with all the food you'll ever need. Provided of course you're okay with letting one of us capture yo-" Trip was cut off when the Phione excitedly cried out before leaping up into Trip's chest, requiring him to catch it with his arms to keep it from falling down. As with many Pokémon before, the promise of being kept fed was sufficient to earn the willing capture of Phione here, who Trip was the one to catch.

"Well now, that means we only have three left on the list," Mina said, "One of which will have to be saved for last as it's been caught by someone else."

Stretching her arms into the air, Dawn said, "I say we enjoy the rest of the festival here. After that, we can get cracking on the other legendary and mythical Pokémon of Sinnoh, although we may have to divert so I can have my battle with Bertha in the Ultra Class." The rest of the reborn trainers agreed, and Roark and Maylene even asked if they could come watch Dawn's battle against Bertha in the Ultra Class when it went down. Dawn said she had no problem, and thus ended the first portion of the quest that the reborn trainers were on to catch all of Sinnoh's legends and myths.

To get a hold of the 'ultimate key' that lays ahead.

END, CHAPTER TWO-HUNDRED AND FIFTY-NINE

Author's notes;

This chapter focuses on seeing Dawn, Kenny, and Trip complete part of their shared quest to capture all of the legendary and mythical Pokémon of Sinnoh in order to get the 'ultimate key' that is stated to be needed to unlock the power to help fend off a potential region-wrecking threat. Dawn, Kenny, and Trip are able to respectively catch Mesprit, Uxie, and Azelf, each passing a test based on the respective domains of the Lake Trio members they fought. Trip also captures a Phione in Chocovine Town which at the time was holding another Phione festival.

There the reborn trainers run into Roark and Maylene, who recount to them a tale of Pyramid King Brandon acting up, happening before he suffered that series of losses in the Great Class. The reborn trainers are surprised by how Brandon's acting, and it's something they'll be looking into eventually as Brandon DOES have one of the legendary Pokémon that they're after, meaning they will have to seek him out. But that will be put off for a bit as, aside from Regigigas, the reborn trainers also need to get Cresselia and Heatran. Until then, take care.

There's... also something else that I just found out, as a user on this site called MiamiXM told me about it. A user over on Webnovel called PhoenixRebel is actually copying and pasting this story and passing it off as theirs (with a BARELY altered title), believe it or not. It is NOT me who is reposting it, and I did NOT give permission. If the person who is doing it sees this, I'm gong to have to ask them that they stop plagiarizing this story and take down what they already have up. I... I cannot believe that someone would actually straight up steal one of my stories. It's... kind of a spirit-breaker, actually.
