It has only been 30 minutes since I left Sans. I knew that it would be hard moving around the underground, but it is already hell! Monsters are attacking me left and right, making me dodge out of the way of their attacks. I have already used up most of the healing items I have found, at this rate I won't last another hour! Luckily, I managed to reach a town called Snowdin. The locals are pretty nice, they even have a pub down here called Grillbies. The owner, who the building was named after, was nice. Even though I couldn't understand what he was saying, the bird monster next to him translated. Even though I could tell that she was making up his words it still was pleasant.
Sans has also been a great help, he greeted me at the bridge on my way into town. Apparently he lives in a wooden house near the end of town. The town is great but the most interesting part about it for me is the river near the back of town. I asked Sans about it and apparently it goes throughout the Underground. Sadly no one really uses it for transportation, besides Undyne, but she swims it. I am relieved to have some semblance of home here, sitting near the river gives me peace for what's ahead.
Getting up I proceed to leave SnowDin. I have to walk through tall grass, up on a ledge there is a tall skeleton talking to someone who is wearing armor. Is that San's brother? That other person might be Undyne if that's the case. I stay as quiet as possible as I listen to what they are saying.
"THAT WAS A WONDERFUL TRAINING SEASON! THE COOKING IS ALWAYS SO ENJOYABLE! WHAT IT HAS TO DO WITH FIGHTING, I DO NOT KNOW."
"No problem, I'll meet you again tomorrow." Her voice is determined, I feel a shiver of fear go through me. If she spots me I know that my odds are not great. The skeleton leaves and so does Undyne. Reluctantly I start to move but she hears the sound of the grass. Without hesitation she summons a spear out of thin air. I wait a few moments and eventually she loses interest and walks away. As I move out of the grass I glance around to make sure she isn;t hiding anywhere. Once I'm sure she is gone I continue walking. Luckily the only thing ahead of me was a few puzzles involving something called a bridge seed. The puzzles were by the water which was an added bones.
What is inside the bridge seeds that make them sprout when there are four of them. It is quite intriguing.
There are a few monsters in my way but after learning their attacks it is easy to spare them. But my luck didn't stay the same, eventually I ran into Undye. She caused me to fall in a landfill but I am still alive, and that is all that counts. Eventually I managed to make it out, currently I am standing in the shop of a turtle monster named Gerson. He has been nice to me, and we have been talking for about 5 minutes now. Apparently he had fought in the war between humans and monsters. But I know I have to leave soon. I say goodbye to him before and turn to leave when he stops me.
"Before you leave kid here take this." In his hands is a hood, it matches the color of the water. The color alone makes me instantly fall in love with it. I take it and put it on, it is a little too big for me, but I will grow into it.
"Thanks so much, and it's in my favorite color."
"No problem kid. It looked like it was meant for you. And don't worry, it's free of charge. Now be safe out there." I wave goodbye as I leave the shop. After a few minutes of walking I came across one of those echo flowers, they are quite interesting due to the fact they repeat the last sound they heard. Listening to it I expect the message to be cheerful, but it isn't like I was expecting.
Behind you.
Turning around I see Undye, checking my inventory I'm sure I have enough healing items for this fight. She stands intimidatingly with her armor as she faces me. Even with the helmet on I can tell she is smiling victoriously.
"I've finally got you brat! You think you can avoid me! Once we get seven human souls, Asgore will become a god!" As she says this she marches towards me and brings me into a fight. I feel pain curse through me as I fail to dodge some of her attacks.
As soon as I can, I quickly run away from the fight, but she is not giving up that easily. She begins chasing me as I blindly run. I realize too late I went the way I came, but due to the blind panic it's not exactly a hard mistake to make.
"Come back her punk!" She sounds furious, guess she was expecting a good fight. Eventually I make it to the maize like area hopefully it will be enough to confuse her. But unfortunately I also fall victim to this. She manages to get me cornered and I have to use one of my healing items as I once again make my escape.
Making my way out of the maze I find myself back outside of Gerson's shop. I remember earlier that straight ahead is where the ghost I met earlier Napstablook lives. The only way out through there is by that cute little bird who offered to fly me across the gap anytime I want, but with Undyne behind me that doesn't seem like an option right now. I didn't go down the other path before, that way is the only option that I have right now. As I run around the corner I see a river, there's no way out from here!
"Dead end punk! Nowhere to run now!" I turn around as she gets us into another battle. Her attacks are at their strongest as they hit my soul as the pain is unbearable. I use the last of my healing foods, but it is all for nothing as her next attack gets me down to one HP.
"End of the line!'" She shouts! My vision is blurry as I look down at my bloody hands. My entire body feels like it's been through hell. My soul is no longer green, which means I can finally run away from the fight. My way is blocked by Undye, but the river behind me is not.
Doing the one thing I could do in the moment, I smile as I take a step back falling into the river. The last thing I see before everything goes black is the angered expression of Undyne through the water.
