Revenge - Fated Retribution

4/13/2029 Aalborg, Denmark Midnight - Clear Sky

First Person POV

[SLASH! SWOOSH!]

The dark knights were being sliced one after another. I've been decapitating them with ease as they've been a problem. Previously, they were unkillable no matter how many wounds we put them into. But turns out cutting off their heads would stop them from regenerating. And if you're wondering why… Me and Saber have decided to go on a night patrol while we wait for Heine to rest up. Of course, we pretty much skipped the day in order to sort things out. But in the midst here? Yeah, this is a problem.

"Saber! How's things on your end?" I asked my Servant as he valiantly killed another as he sliced the head off.

"The numbers are decreasing. But I still can't figure out who's sending them…" Saber said as he noticed behind him as he swung his sword, decapitating another.

"Man, these guys will never catch a break. But to think that cutting their heads stops just kills them for good. Let alone stabbing or slashing them the moment they get back up." Rengoku spoke to me as I maintained focus.

"We'll figure it out once we fend them off. I'm not sure if this is getting someone's attention but…" I said as I swung Rengoku to the side.

[SLICE!]

"I think that's most of them…" I said as I sheath my sword and looked around as the corpse of the knights proceeded to evaporate away.

"So, do you wish to continue your search for this Beryl?" Saber asked me as I nodded.

"Yeah. It's gonna take some time to figure out where he's at in Aalborg. Perhaps we should try exploring the city entirely in the day if we needed to get this done. So, why not head back home and call it a night?" I asked my Servant.

"Certainly. We mustn't idle longer the more we stand here. But I fear these knights will come back soon." Saber said as I turned around and prepared to leave.

"You're right. Wasting time isn't going to make it better. I might as well-" I was interrupted as Rengoku within the sheathe began to vibrate.

"Hey! Behind you!" Rengoku warned me the moment I turned around… But I was too late.

"Found you…" The voice of a man spoke as I attempted to quickly turn around…

[STAB! GUSH!]

"AAAUGH!?" I coughed out blood as the sword was stabbed through my stomach as I was bleeding.

"Master!" Saber called for me the moment the sword was pulled out of it. I fell to the floor as my vision began to blue out as my eyes closed shut… Not my day, huh…?

Third Person POV

Jin Adashino was stabbed in the stomach. While within the chest, the mysterious person responsible for backstabbing Jin was none other than Assassin. The moment Saber instantly drew out his sword… Assassin speaks in response.

"Is this how you greet your fellow knight, Sir Bedivere?" Assassin spoke his name the moment Saber instantly realizes who he is as he lowers his guard a little.

"T-This… This can't be… Sir Agravain? Is that you?" Saber spoke his name as he is familiar with what he looks like.

"Indeed, I am. Though, we have been summoned into this world to fight. My Master has been awfully angered by what happened… Of course, I talk of the death of a woman named Midadol. Alas, I care not for her pity. She merely stood in my Master's way of plans." Assassin replied back to him while maintaining a serious face as usual.

"I see. My Master killing Midadol only made your Master furious, didn't it? My Master only did what had to be done. And yet, you killed him!" Saber retorted as he raised his sword as he stood at the ready.

"I have. But my mission is already done. All that's left is you disappearing back to the Throne of Heroes. Let that be a lesson, the day you failed to save our King." Assassin said coldly as he disappeared out of thin air to return back to his Master.

After many seconds have passed with the Assassin disappearing. Saber noticed to see Jin's body where the green pendant began to glow over him as the lifestream of nature began to heal his wounds as his organs were being repaired back to normal. And just as his stomach was all healed up. The pendant made by Caster has become lifeless, just a colorless small gray stone. And so… he begins to wake up.

First Person POV

"Mmm… Damn…" I groaned as I slowly got up and opened my eyes. I noticed to find out… that I was healed. I suppose this was the pendant's doing, huh? Thanks, Caster… Without it, I would have failed my revenge. "Oh… Saber. Sorry if I scared you."

"Master! Thank goodness you're alright." Saber said with a sigh of relief. However, you are tired. May I help you back home safely?"

"Yeah… I'll have to get used to this pain… And might as well get a new fresh pair of clothes." I said to him as I could feel my stomach hurting a little.

"You scared me to death, Jin! But I'm glad that the thing Caster made revived you. Just don't do that again…" Rengoku said as I ignored him. So, he began to carry me as I rested my arm over his shoulder as we began our long walk back.

"And Saber… For tomorrow… Tell me who stabbed me…" I said to my Servant as he nodded without speaking as we began walking about… I seriously hate this night…

Silvercrest Manor, Aalborg, Denmark Midnight - Clear Sky

Third Person POV

Meanwhile, back at the manor of Silvercrest where Beryl and the Doglio members resides. Beryl was seen in his office as he was seen looking at the photo frame of him and Midadol. The death of her has caused him some grief to this day as he was alone in the room. He didn't want anyone to come in here except Assassin. His mind is set on one thing: A malicious wish of Jin Adashino dead. He knew of what Jin is like ever since he trespassed the Adashino residence years ago the moment he mortally wounded Hishiri that led to her death.

"I have returned, Master." Assassin spoke as he appeared right in front of his eyes. "I have killed Jin Adashino as you've commanded me. Are you satisfied?"

"No…" Beryl replied.

"Pardon?" Assassin asked.

"One of my men has forwarded me a message. Jin Adashino is still alive. The moment you killed that shitstick… He somehow revived." Beryl said coldly while maintaining his serious face as he looked at his photo frame.

"Are you saying that I failed?" Assassin asked him in question.

"…Yes. Yes you have. There will be no punishments, Assassin. I'll let you convert more of the meatbags in the manor as you please. You will try again next night." Beryl replied.

"Understood. But should Jin along with his Servants were to find out of this location-" Assassin was interrupted.

"I'm aware of it. Which is why I'm making some plans ahead of it. You are to kill his Servants. However… I will not let you kill Jin. He'll be my only prey to hunt on." Beryl informed him as the Assassin nodded.

"As you wish, Master…" Assassin replied as he kneels down and disappears out of thin air once more.

"…Fuck." Beryl cursed to himself now fearing that Jin will be coming after him. And within this night, he'll need as much time to prepare for the worst. An ill-fated battle that looms ever closer.

4/14/2029 Adashino Residence, Aalborg, Denmark Morning - Clear Sky

First Person POV

"Ahh, Master. I see you changed clothes, have you?" Caster said to me as she thinked. "And if I were to assume… Someone must have killed you and the pendant I made healed your wounds, am I correct?"

"Yup… Right on the money…" I replied to her as I now wore a velvet red t-shirt under the black unzipped hoodie over it. However, I had my white cloth wrapped around my arms over the arms of the hoodie but this will have to do for now. I took a seat to have my breakfast as usual as Saber once again provided me with steamed vegetables again. "Saber… About last night. After Caster's pendant healed me without fail. Who was that Servant who stabbed me?"

"Master, I know this is for certain. But you won't like what I'm about to tell you. Assassin… he's a fellow knight such as me. We both were part of the same Rouble Table when we served under the King." Saber continued as he maintained his composure. "That Assassin who attacked you… is none other than Agravain, the Ironclad of the Round Table."

"Agravain, huh? So you knew him right from the start. Was he responsible for sending these black knights at us?" I asked Saber about it as he nodded.

"Precisely." Saber replied. My mind begins to ponder who Agravain is. I'm well familiar with the whole Arthurian Legends in some sort but here goes me trying to explain.

Agravain himself is part of the Knights of the Round Table like Bedivere and is the son of Morgan, making him the brother of Gawain and Gaheris, as well as a half-brother of Mordred. And according to his legend, he was hired as an assassin employed by Morgan le Fay in order to serve as one of the Knights and as a secretary for the Round Table. When Agravain finds out that Lancelot was in cahoots with Guinevere through some affair. Unfortunately, he was eventually killed by Lancelot after he failed to use the king's secret as a threat. And yeah, that's all I know about his history.

But this makes me wonder… How come the Holy Grail War never has a Ruler Servant summoned here in Aalborg? While Karabo acts as the Overseer to keep us in check should we abandon our roles, I've heard rumors of the Ruler-class Servant summoned back in Fuyuki previous wars ago. But if I were to think about this. Well, let me think straight here as I want to explain. If Guinevere were to be summoned as a Ruler-class Servant. First, Rulers have the ability to immediately know their True Names should the said Servant choose to reveal it so. Second, they do not require a Master to remain in the world as the Ruler is primarily summoned by the Holy Grail itself to keep the war in check. And Third, Rulers have Command Seals and can use them with absolute order. And the scary part is: it has unlimited uses. If your Servant is misbehaving, Rulers can use their seal to force that Servant to either stop… or kill themselves. Alright, enough with the whole Guinevere being a Ruler and all of that. All that leaves us is to focus on what's next. I died once and I have no plans in dying a second time. Yet, my death itself was greatly exaggerated…

"Anyways… Caster, take a seat. I wish to discuss with you and Saber." I said to Caster as she would nod and head to her seat. And so, I would begin this discussion. "Let this be a short and quick recap based on what happened. First, Midadol is dead because of me. Second, we helped Heine somewhat solve his family issues which went downhill. And Third… We need to do something about the Assassin… whose true name is Agravain thanks to Saber's connection with him. I can already assume that Beryl is the Master of Assassin."

"Yes, but there is one problem, Master." Caster spoke in. "We don't know where the base of operation or where the Master of Assassin resides. It'll take us an extra four hours of searching all throughout the city in the day. Even at night, it'll be too risky for you two to go out and about."

"You're right… We don't know where Beryl is… Damn it, this is getting nowhere." I cursed silently as I held my head down in slight frustration.

"Well if that's the case." Saber then stood up. "Why not head out during the day and split up. It'll make our search easier-"

[KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!]

"Helloooooo?~ Jin? I know you're in there. And I definitely knew what you're talking about! If you would be so kind to let me in. I have tons of juicy details that you can't refuse!~" The voice Yvette spoke through the door as I sighed. Of course it had to be her…

"Saber, let her in." I said to him as he nodded. Saber would head to the door as I ate my breakfast. And as the door opens, Yvette just happily storms right in for no reason as she sees me, approaching me the moment she sits on the chair. "What do you want, Yvette… It's 9AM in the morning…"

"Shouldn't you be thankful for letting me in?" Yvette said with a smirk on her face.

"And shouldn't you be quiet for once while I'm eating my breakfast…" I retorted with a deadpan look as I continued eating. Of course, I wasn't going to look at her.

"Geez, rude…" Yvette continued. "Well, I'm here anyways. Heine's all recovered now but he's pretty much busy back at the grand hotel. He told me to visit you and here I am. Of course, I don't come empty handed with information if you're interested."

"Always information, huh?" I continued eating, swallowing up the food after chewing.

"Yup! And this time, it's about Beryl." Yvette mentioned the name as I stopped and looked at her.

"Are you serious?" I asked her.

"I am serious." Yvette replied. "Last night, I heard you were out and about. So I took liberty in finding Beryl's location by following these mafia grunts all the way back to one location. At the east of Aalborg."

Yvette then brings out the picture of the map layout of the city but there was a red circle drawn as it was pinpointing one certain location.

"Silvercrest Manor…?" I asked her about this location.

"Apparently, it used to be a tourist attraction but now, it has become a base of operation where Beryl has been conducting weird experiments on his own men. He's using Assassin to turn his men into those unkillable black knights with those weird red chains." Yvette explained it as I spoke when she mentioned those 'unkillable' Knights.

"There is a way to kill them, actually. You just cut the head. Me and Saber figured it out last night." I replied back to her as she blinked her single eye.

"Oh? I guess I won't have to research more on killing these guys." Yvette said with some relief. "Though, now that I've given you the details for free. I suppose you've been waiting for this?"

"Yeah…" I continued the moment I looked at my right hand and clenched it. "Five long years… Five long years I've waited for this moment… He took my mother's life… and stole my future from me. And with those patience and information thanks to you. I can finally get my revenge and kill him. So that Hishiri can be avenged."

"You seem serious about it, don't you?" Yvette said as I looked at her.

"Of course, I've always been serious since the start. And thus, I'll make my preparations now while daytime is still up. Me, Saber, and Caster will be going to the Silvercrest Manor at nightfall. Should the Assassin intervene on our arrival, I'll leave it to my Servants to handle them. As for me… I'll hunt down Beryl alone. He can hide in his manor all he wants. But he won't be escaping from me." I said as I let my hand down and took a deep breath. "Now that I'm feeling better… Can you get out of my house?"

"Huh? I mean, I was going to leave anyway, now that you want to kill him this badly. But either way, I've done my part. Time for me to head back-" Yvette was interrupted by me, of course.

"Hold it. I do have a message for Heine." I continued. "Tell him if he wishes to join me at the manor and we can begin our attack there."

"I'll let him know, Jin. Take care of yourself." Yvette said she would leave my house since she is going to relay my message to Heine.

"Master… is it time?" Saber said as I finished my food.

"Yeah. It's time. I need some rest to skip this day. But surely… This will be my battle. A battle to the death against him." I said with this confidence as I have to make plans ahead before heading out at night. It'll depend if Heine wishes to join me or not. But my plan is simple… I will kill Beryl and none shall stand in my way.

Silvercrest Manor, Aalborg, Denmark Midnight - Clear Sky

As time passes by once more. All I did was stay at home until night. And at night we waited. It was only the three of us. Four if you wanna count Rengoku. But that doesn't matter. I had Saber slashes the gates open the moment we stepped right into Beryl's territory. I'm sure he's in there… waiting for me. We stood there as I looked at one of the windows lit up from the lights inside. Though, I'm not sure if he's aware or unaware of my arrival. I only thought in my mind about one thing… killing him. But the problem is…

"It seems you're not dead after all, Jin Adashino." The voice of the Assassin-class Servant speaks as we notice him appearing out of thin air as we've come face to face. "My Master told me that you'd be invading his domain. While I commend your bravery, it seems that I must kill you again… Along that knight that you brought along with."

Assassin then has red glowing chains around his right arm as he raises up in the air as the chains proceed to stab the ground. Dark holes appeared on the ground as it was bringing out the army of black knights the moment it rose up and drew their swords at the ready. He retracts his chains and proceeds to unsheathe his own sword while we do the same.

"Not letting us through, are you? To think that you'd stop us… But it doesn't matter. I'm here for Beryl. So get out of my way… or I'll force you to." I threatened with my sword pointed at him

"You will not harm my Master nor you shall reach him. All that matters is dealing with you intruders who dare invade." Assassin refuted while maintaining his composure.

"Master… I have an idea. Will you trust me on this one?" Caster asked me.

"Yeah. What are you gonna do?" I asked my Servant as she readied her staff scythe.

"This." Caster then proceeded to tap the ground as I felt a slight rumble as large roots from underground rose up as I wrapped around me. Then, it proceeded to toss me over Assassin and the army of black knights the moment I landed near the door entrance.

"Huh… Clever woman." I said with amusement on my face.

"Master! Go on ahead! We'll handle the Assassin until Heine and others arrive to assist us!" Saber said to me as I looked at Caster.

"Don't worry about us. Do what must be done." Caster said with a smile of confidence as I nodded back at them.

"Thanks. Wish me luck." I replied the moment I opened the door and made my way inside. Now, my hunt for Beryl has begun.

Third Person POV

"Hmph. To think you would send your Master to fight mine… deplorable. No matter, I will kill him again once I deal with you a lot. Same goes for you, Sir Bedivere. I cannot allow you to live." Assassin said as he commanded his knights to form up to surround the two.

"Sir Agravain. What has made you change like this? What of our time back at the kingdom? What of our King?" Saber pressed with questions.

"Those are long gone. I could care less about the King after his demise." Assassin replied.

"Yet, what of the events that occurred after your death… Lancelot has slain your life-" Bedivere was interrupted as this only triggers Assassin in a fit of rage.

"DON'T YOU DARE TO SPEAK OF THAT DAMNED NAME!" Assassin shouted in anger as he looked at his left hand and tightly clenched it. "If not for that whore who slept with that bastard… He would kill me in retaliation. This talk is over… Men. Kill them."

And so, Saber and Caster would prepare themselves for the worst…

First Person POV

"FUCKING KILL HIM- AGGGH!" The voice of one of Beryl's men was slashed as blood spews out violently as he screamed in pain. They were using firearms against me but I had Rengoku's instinct help me deflect them with ease.

"N-NO! GET THE HELL BACK-" The second man was decapitated the moment I swung it. I found myself on the second floor after I took the stairs at the grand foyer.

"These guys are seriously stopping you, huh? But don't dwell on that fear, Jin. I'm sure you'll be getting this revenge of yours. Five years in the making?" Rengoku asked me as I continued running.

"More like in waiting. I can't sense him but I just need to find… there!" I noticed to see as I stopped running and looked at the twin doors on this second floor. "I hope this is worth it… Here goes nothing."

[CREEEEEEEEEK!]

"Beryl!" I called out for his name the moment I opened the large creaking doors. I find myself in the large ballroom filled with chandeliers, paintings on the wall and on the ceiling. I couldn't care about it as my mind is focused on him. Of course… he's here. The same look on his face… no doubt it's him.

Beryl was seen sitting on the steps as he was patiently waiting for me as he was slowly clapping upon my arrival with a smug look on his face.

"Wow. You're totally late. Trouble on the way?" Beryl asked me as I kept myself in composure. Yet, I'm still angry.

"Just enjoying your 'entertainment' you provided me." I replied.

"How gratifying." Beryl calmly spoke as he stood up from steps of the red carpet. He would then look at the painting that I'm familiar with… the painting of Hishiri that came from our residence five years back… And he somehow stole it. "Have you come to avenge your mother, Jin Adashino?"

I didn't respond but watched. He let off a grim chuckle as he looked at the painting as he placed his hand on the face of Hishiri.

"The Adashino Family… A family without an heir, their faith, even their will… A veritable family of dust." Beryl sighed. "Truly, I see no heir to represent."

He would then tighten his right arm as he thrust his fist onto the painting, punching it through as it leaves a crack on the wall.

"No…!" I said in anguish the moment I saw my mother's painting of herself get destroyed. Yet, I'm still angry over this. "Even if you knew that I was coming… What do you want with me?"

"To confirm the death of my love Midadol." Beryl continued as he turned around. "One of my men presented me with the head of my love inside that box. Imagine my disappointment when I learned that you tried to lure me out. And my relief to learn that you came here to Denmark… to kill me."

Beryl proceeded to walk down the short steps as he stopped at such a distance where we met face to face. But he wasn't too happy. He was also filled with hatred and anger.

"My love is slain… her body defiled! You have guts to arrive here. And yet, I can't stand you standing here… It's so unreal, it pisses me off…" Beryl said as he was breathing heavily from his nostrils. I stood there to remain calm but serious. But, I spoke anyway.

"Like I give a shit." I continued as I stepped forward a bit and stopped. "But I suppose I'll tell you the truth so I won't waste time. I came to Denmark to search for you… hunt you down. And to do so… I killed Midadol… That's right. It was me who slew her. And perhaps you didn't know, Beryl. She bled like a pig."

"You… You slew her…?" Beryl said in shock the moment I said my words to him. However, his anger rises as he lightly raises his two arms and looks at them. "You! You killed her!"

"I did." I replied. But, he started to silently chuckle as he had a smirk on his face.

"Then I am fortunate indeed." Beryl said. "I had thought the most I could wish for was to leave the Clock Tower behind and pledge my allegiance to the Doglio family. And it seems I was wrong… I shall have my revenge…!"

Beryl then proceeded to channel his prana all around him as I felt it but it was ominous at the same time.

"We… We shared a dream! That I would be the winner of the war!" Beryl said in anger as his arms proceeded to grow gray fur all over along with his body. His clothes ripped and his glasses shattered as his face began to morph into a vicious animal of a wolf… but much more than that… a werewolf. "She would be my wife. And we would crush the Clock Tower from within! But you crushed that dream… grounded it to dust! Hear me, Adashino! You will pay for what you've done. I will tear you apart from limb to limb!"

"And what of you?" I continued as I grew more of this hatred towards him. "How many people have you slaughtered throughout your life? How many dreams have you crushed? "

I proceeded to hold Rengoku in my hand as I looked him in the eyes.

"You're not the only one who would go after the Holy Grail." I spoke as I pointed my sword at him. "You get no pity from me, Beryl. No pity… and no mercy!"

We both are driven in anger. Fueled by our hatred. And that hatred is what turns into strength…

Background Music | Final Fantasy XVI OST - King of the World

"Now DIE!" We both said at the same time in rage as we both dashed into the battle. My blade clashes with his claws as we stare each other down.

"It is time you learned… what becomes of those who dare cross me!" Beryl announced as we pressed each other with struggle.

"Cross you!? I'll kill you!" I retorted in anger as we both took a step back. So, we kept our distance as we proceeded to circle around each other slowly while staring at our eyes.

"You will die by my hand, Adashino!" Beryl said as he pointed his claw finger at me as he growled. "My hatred for you is unending, unyielding! Let this place be your grave…!"

"Keep yapping, asshole. I couldn't care less if you hate me. You fucked me over. I fucked you over back. And I'll send you to hell just as I did with your lover!" I spat as we both ran each other once more as I proceeded to swing my sword but missed.

He jumped over me as I quickly turned around. Using my white wrapped cloth to hurl at him as it turned into a snake, wrapping his leg as I pulled him down to the ground. I proceeded to thrust my sword at him but he uses his claw to cut off the snake as it reverts back into a cloth. He tried to swing his claws to slice my legs but I used Rengoku to block it as he got up. Then, he would start running circles around me on all fours as speed itself begins to build up. I stood there as I tried to focus. The speed was blinding as he zips across the room until I looked up where he was already at the top of the ceiling.

"Shit!" I cursed to myself as Beryl proceeded to shoot himself down like a bullet as I used the blade to block the attack. But the downforce has caused the ground to crack and break the moment we both began to fall down. "WHOOOOOOOA!"

"Jin!" Rengoku called out my name as we fell to the ground deep under the manor.

We find ourselves in a large basement filled with a few dead corpses… Is this what he's been experimenting on? However, the ceiling up top also crumbles as it shines the moonlight over us. Beryl was seen in his werewolf form as we both catched our breath. However, we readied ourselves again as I dodged the incoming attack and blocked a few. Though, the scratches did get me but it won't be enough to kill me. We've exchanged each other's attacks as sparks fly from every swing. Swinging my sword once again, I managed to land a hit by slashing his chest but it didn't kill him. Yet, he was bleeding a little the moment he stood there and looked at his blood.

"To think you wounded me… Ahahaha… AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!~" Beryl proceeded to laugh like a maniac. "To think I would see my own blood after all this time… This brings me joy… I will kill you until there are no remains of you!"

He's lost it… I don't have anything to say to him. But I need to focus on beating him. While I have the skills in swordsmanship and he has the skills in speed. So I need to find a way to outsmart him if possible. I focused my eyes on him as he once again. Instead of speed… He would hide in the darkness away from the moonlight. Seems he would change up his tactics. However, he's still filled with this blind rage. I hate wasting time… And I'll end this. I closed my eyes and kept my stance in order to put myself into focus. I can hear the ground running on and the flow of wind. Silence is all I need. And just at that very moment…

"There!" I quickly turned around early and swung my sword…

Background Music End

[SLICE!]

I had sidestepped to my right as I swung down my sword at a quick pace. Both of his arms were cutted off. Beryl rolled onto the floor as he slid to scrape on the ground. He proceeded to scream in pain the moment he noticed his severed arms.

"M-My arms! My arms!" Beryl cried in agony as he kneeled on the floor. Blood was still spilling out as I slowly approached him. The fight nearly wore me out as I held Rengoku at the ready. But he turned around and snarled at me. "Son of a whore… I'll kill you… I'll kill you! I'LL KILL YOU!"

Beryl would start to run towards me as I prepared myself. The moment I raised myself to point at him…

[STAB!]

The blade had pierced Beryl's neck as he tried to speak but was unable to. His blind rage had consumed him.

"You won't be missed…" I said coldly as I pulled out the blade and swung to the side, decapitating him for good, his command seal was gone as well. His head fell to the floor as I kneeled down to catch my breath. I nearly passed out from this. "Damn it…"

"It's… It's over, isn't it?" Rengoku asked me as I remained calm from taking a breather and stood up.

"Yeah…" I proceeded to sheathe Rengoku from my back. "Mother… the evil who would wound you and take your life… is no more…"

And so, my legs feel weak. I proceeded to find my way back up and leave the manor. As I continued finding my way up and back to the hallway of the manor… I was leaning against the wall while walking in pain.

"Saber… Caster… I'm coming…" I said weakly as I struggled to get up. Yet, I continued walking down… speaking to myself. "Cerejeira… Heine… Misaya…"

As time passed, I walked like a zombie the moment I reached the grand foyer of the manor. My legs can't continue. I kneeled to the floor again as I felt defeated, looking up at the glimmering chandeliers up on the ceiling. I did it… It's over… Beryl Gut is dead… My revenge… is complete. But… What is my purpose now?

"And so you've finished. Your role is complete." The monotonous spoke to me as I noticed to see what's in front of me… the large orb appears as it shrinks, revealing itself to be Logos…

"Y-You…" I said.

"The death of Beryl Gut is sound. Your revenge is accomplished. Yet, you feel lifeless. Defeated. Hopeless." Logos said as I tried to speak.

"S-Shut up…" I retaliated.

"And perhaps I shall tell you the truth… My body will soon wane. And you shall become my perfect vessel of my proper return." Logos said one particular word as this confused me.

"V-Vessel…?" I asked.

"Of course, you shall become my very vessel. In order for me to bring this world to an end, that is. Do you find it funny? That humanity has failed its god? Its creator." Logos continued. "My other halves would assume to disagree with me but I care not. You are broken. Such as your will. Yet, you show signs of resistance."

"Stop… Stop it…" I tried to warn him.

"Then let me break your will… myself." Logos then proceeds to release the ominous air sending towards me as my vision becomes blurry. And then… blackness… everything went silent.

Third Person POV

Meanwhile, at the entrance of the manor. Saber and Assassin would exchange blows as Caster would support him. The moment the Assassin was about to make his move and attack. He stopped midway along with his black knights.

"I sense it…" Assassin continued. "My Master… he's dead."

"Sir Agravain…" Saber said his name the moment he lowered his guard. Assassin's body begins to glow in a golden light.

"It seems this is my loss… then so be it. I don't have time to continue living now that he's dead." Assassin said as he looked at his hands fading away. "Sir Bedivere. Listen well. While my rage has gotten the best of me. And countless mistakes I've committed. I failed to serve the King as you did. But… perhaps I'll say this. Tell the King… and Sir Lancelot… that I'm sorry…"

And so, the Assassin had finally disappeared from this world. As his soul would fill the Holy Grail. Three Servants died. Only four remain. Saber tightly clenched his silver arm and looked up to the sky.

"I will…" Saber said with composure until he and Caster noticed to see the black knights dissolving away the armor as it reveals to be the henchmens of the Doglio family members as they all drop like flies.

"Have we arrived too late?" The voice of Lancer spoke as Heine and two Servants arrived.

"Unfortunately, yes…" Rider spoke in as Heine was on the white horse as he got off.

"Saber! Caster! Pray for our lateness. Yvette has told me that you would strike Beryl's domain. Where is he?" Heine asked him.

"Assassin is gone. Which means my Master has slew Beryl." Saber replied as Heine was rather surprised.

"So… he finally did it. He got his revenge. Yet, it leaves four Servants but… Oh no… Saber, Caster… I have a bad feeling… your might may have played right into Logos' trap. We need to save him." Heine immediately realized all along. Jin's success of revenge only allowed Logos to finally make his move.

"It'll only get worse if we stand there… Make haste!" Caster said as they all agreed and ran their way to the door in order to rescue Jin from Logos' grasp.

First Person POV

It was silent… But I slowly open my eyes, finding myself sitting on the stairway of the foyer… This is the Adashino residence in Japan… Why do I find myself back here? I noticed seeing Saber and Caster, Hishiri and Yvette, Misaya and the young Misaya talking to each other as I watched with the light shining on them. As they were conversing with each other… they all stopped as if they were frozen in time. As I looked at them… one of them began to move… Hishiri speaks up and looks at me.

"Tell me, Jin. How long has it been of you chasing this revenge?" Yvette said as the young Misaya spoke in.

"Fewer then we've ruined. No matter what you do. You continue to bring terror in your wake." The young Misaya spoke as Hishiri spoke in to look at me with disapproval on her face.

"These… These are the wages of your will, Jin." Hishiri said in disappointment.

"What good will are our choices, when all they ever bring… all they will ever bring… is death." The other but tall Misaya said to me.

"There's no escaping, Jin. No matter how hard you try." The young Misaya said as everyone except my Servants spoke.

"So why not leave it all behind?" The four said in unison as they disappear one by one… and all that's left is two of them. I begin to think of this judgment of myself from the words they've said to me.

"…Leave it all behind?" I said to myself these words… but my mind continued to drag me down further as I heard the voices of Saber and Caster reaching out to me…

"Master!"

And so… my mind drags me down. I open my eyes where I find myself… a dark long hallway filled with prison cells with torches lit on the walls. Yet, it's dimly lit but dark. I stood there as I did nothing. I looked to my left where I found Midadol in the cell as she placed her hands on the iron bars.

"Please… why won't anyone accept me for who I am? Why can't they all just accept me!?" Midadol pleaded in despair as I looked to my right where Beryl was in his cell.

"Long have I waited… is to enjoy the thrill of killing. But my life was cut short all because of him…! Was it not enough!?" Beryl said in anger as I looked at the another cell where Heine was there.

"I only did what's right for my family… To remove the evil that plagued our lineage! But everything came crashing down on me! All of it! Gone!" Heine said in fear and loss as he mentioned about the downfall of what happened with his family. And yet, they would all speak in unison.

"And what if they could all just go away?" The all said in unison as the torches began to extinguish one by one and the cells disappeared till there's nothing left.

"Just go away…?" I said those words as if I was all alone… Then, my mind drags me back down more as the cell bursts open where Saber and Caster were there to lend out their hand.

"MASTER!"

"MASTER!"

Then… I was dragged here… the very same place… the grand foyer burning. The day where my mother was mortally wounded. And my younger self is weak to take action. I kneeled on the floor, gasping in fear, unable to say anything. Everything that was taken away from me. I started to shed a tear from my eyes the moment I saw those flames and the paintings burned.

"None of this is real." Saber said in my mind.

"Let's go home, Jin." Caster said in my mind as well.

"Jin…?" I said my name.

"That's right. We're your Servants bound by you, Master." Saber continued. "Come. Remember who you are."

I proceeded to look up and lend out my hand where the orb of light appeared as I tried to grab it.

"Jin… My name is… Jin." I said as the orb of light began to shine brighter and brighter the moment I grabbed it… everything became a flash of blinding light… Soon, my mind drags me back up to reality…

And the moment I woke up, back here where I was on the floor, kneeling… I realized what Logos was doing, having his hand over my forehead. I quickly rolled back, unsheathing Rengoku and slashing his arm off.

[SLASH! THUD!]

"You… You will not control me…!" I said with my newly found resolve as I stood up with my own two feet. I hear the door bust open where Saber and Caster arrived along with Heine, Lancer, and Rider.

"Master! You're safe! Thank goodness…" Caster said with a sigh of relief but noticed Logos. "You… How dare you harm our Master…"

"Enough games, Logos. This ends here." Saber said as the two Servants arrived to protect me.

"You two…" I said in surprise.

"Oh? What's this now? It seems your help has arrived. But nonetheless, Beryl Gut and Agravain are no more. Yet, there are four Servants remaining. I intend to keep Jin's Servants alive. But for the other two…" Logos shifted his eyes at the Lancer and Rider.

"And what do you mean about us?" Lancer said as he readies his spear. "Rider. We must attack now."

"Of course, I wouldn't think otherwise. He must fall." Rider said as they were prepared to make their move but.

"You will not make any move further. Your purpose… is to be a sacrifice to the Holy Grail. That is all." Logos then proceeds to regenerate his severed arm magically as he uses it to do something until..

[STAB! PSSSSSSH!]

"AUGH!" Lancer was impaled by the blue magical spear that sprung up from the floor. Along with Rider who was caught in it as well.

"W-What is… this…!" Rider said as he coughed out blood.

"NO! RIDER! LANCER!" Heine tried to step in.

"N-No… Don't… We… We were too careless. Don't end up like us… You need to live… look after… your sister…" Lancer said as he died smiling as his body glows into golden motes of light.

"We are sorry, Master. Yet, it has been an honor of serving… under you…" Rider said his last words as he also disappeared into golden motes of light. And thus, Lancer and Rider were killed by Logos.

"And now, the Holy Grail has been filled properly… but you can keep that vessel for the Grail. Yet, I don't get it. Why do you resist?" Logos then looked at us.

"We're not your toys to play with." I continued. "You call yourself a god of this world when you gave humanity the knowledge of magecraft and the Holy Grail. Why turn your back on your creation if you spite us this arrogantly!?"

"And yet, this dog has some bite. Perhaps I was proven wrong about you… You are truly an anomaly. If I can't break you… Then I might as well break those around you." Logos then proceeds to engulf the inside of an orb to teleport and disappears.

"Wait…!" I tried to ask him but he teleported…

"There's no time… The dawn is already rising and… we need to go outside!" Heine said as we decided to head out. And just as we did during the sun's rising dawn… Logos were there in the sky as he was about to do something.

Third Person POV

"All five Servants are slain. Yet in this silence a new song rings." Logos said as he looked down on the city of Aalborg. "Its chorus building, a crescendo as it enters a final movement… stirring those long a-slumber to waking… and back… to their origin."

And so, Logos proceeded to raise up his arm into the air as it was gathering up magical energy. Suddenly, the magical orb manifests as it shoots up into the atmosphere as it proceeds to create a mysterious magical barrier as it proceeds to stretch and reach all throughout Denmark. The people living in Aalborg noticed to see the sky changing when the barrier was formed as it was stretching far across the land. Then in the capital city of Copenhagen where the citizens were thrusted into a full panic as they were seeing it with their own eyes and phones in their hands. In just about ten seconds… the magical barrier has been placed all throughout Denmark. Logos would continue his plans to break the people living here as he conjured masses of dark clouds that covered the sky entirely to block the sunlight's morning…

"And so, my gift to humanity… My Genesis of Destruction not only creates. But to destroy or alter so drastically at such a high capacity. But I wonder… How long will you survive against the land's decay?" Logos said as he uses his other arm to summon an orb that brings forth what is revealed to be a True Holy Grail, a golden chalice that is said to be filled with limitless power that can grant wishes but… "The Holy Grail itself. Still powerless without its Einzbern vessel. Regardless, let it be known to humanity. That I shall await at the top where the climax concludes. Don't keep me waiting, Jin Adashino."

And so, Logos disappears once more through an orb as it engulfs him and shrinks. The dark clouds begin to rain blue small particles down from the sky like snow…

First Person POV

"W-What… What the hell just happened?" I asked them as Heine spoke up and looked.

"It's begun… Logos is intending to kill everyone here in Denmark. Yet, these blue motes… What are…?" Heine pondered this fact as we noticed to see something's wrong.

"Master! Look!" Caster informed me as we looked at the bodies of the henchmen. Their skin turns completely pale as it has blue cracks all over their body. Their eyes were glowing blue the moment they began to get up on their feet and act like zombies.

"Damn it! Why now!?" I cursed as we noticed more bodies rising up from the dead.

"Worry later, Jin! We need to retreat! Let's head back to my room at the hotel. It's better if we avoid them!" Heine said as I sheathed Rengoku, knowing that he's right. Taking them on would waste time.

"Right… Saber! Caster! Let's avoid them and get out of here!" I said to the two as we all made a run for it. All five Servants are killed. And two of my Servants remain. And with the world going to hell this fast, all that leaves is the Holy Grail… and worst of all… confronting Logos should it happen.

And with it, begins the days of desperation. The people of Denmark are trapped in fear. Undead-like bodies now roam the streets, killing anyone they see. No help from the outside world. And this is because of me… And to this day, I've decided… Killing Beryl was the only beginning for Logos to take action… but I will stop him. That is my vow.

[TO BE CONTINUED…]

Author's Notes: Hello, all. Thank you for reading this chapter. It seems Logos has already taken matters into his own hands. Since he failed to break Jin's will. He decided to break the will of others instead. Of course, of course, another FFXVI inspiration at it again but hey, it just works. Berserker, Archer, Assassin, Lancer, and Rider are all killed and their souls filled with the Holy Grail. Complete but missing and Logos is holding it hostage. But where do you ask? You just gotta look out for its final chapter of this saga as it'll finally conclude everything that started with Fate/UnH. While this chapter is short, yes. But it'll build up to be a good climatic finale where Jin now has a purpose to defeat Logos for good… and perhaps get his wish? Sadly, no End Result Time Lore, Omake or any Compendium this time around for this chapter and the next. So yeah, look forward to its climax. Until then, stay safe!
