Set in Stone: Chapter 42
With Naruto, Jiraya, Konan, Itachi and Sarada
Naruto ran at Sasuke with a kyuubi chakra powered rasengan in his hand; Sasuke seeing this used his Susanoo to fire several arrows towards Naruto. Naruto dodged the arrows and closed the distance "Rasengan" Naruto shouted as he pressed the rasengan against Sasuke's Susanoo.
Sasuke saw his Susanoo begin to break and decided to back away; just as the Susanoo gave way Sasuke jumped back in order to gain some distance. As he did Sasuke was assaulted by a volley of paper shuriken courtesy of Konan; Sasuke taking out his sword charging it up with lightning chakra.
Sasuke slashed at the paper shuriken coming towards him; one of the paper shuriken hit his chakra armor bouncing off. Sasuke pointed his sword at the airborne Konan and took aim; Sasuke fired a stream of lightning at Konan using his sword as a conductor. Konan moved at the last second but was hit on one of her wings.
'Damn' Konan thought as she began to plumet to the ground; Sasuke saw Konan falling out of the sky and ran at her bringing back his sword in order to deliver a finishing blow. Konan seeing Sasuke approach took several paper bombs out of her sleeves and send them flying towards Sasuke; Sasuke tracking the tags with his sharingan jumped away and avoided the paper bombs.
As he side stepped another sheet of paper he realized it was not a paper bomb but a flash bomb; the flash bomb went off blinding Sasuke in one eye as he was able to close his other before it went off "Gah you bitch" Sasuke shouted as he grabbed his eye.
Konan landed and rushed Sasuke from the front creating a paper kunai; Sasuke seeing with only one eye was about to engage when he heard steps from behind him. Sarada was running towards him with a kunai in each hand and her sharingan blazing.
Sarada slashed at Sasuke with her kunai and Sasuke ducked under and slashed at her with his sword; Sasuke's sword nicked Sarada on her side causing a gash to form and blood to trickle out. Sarada not deterred by the pain of the wound Sarada countered with another slash and Sasuke responded by blocking with his sword.
Sasuke and Sarada's blades bit into each other locking into themselves and Sarada took the initiative; Sarada twisted her arm bringing both of the blades down and dropping one of her kunai. Sarada grabbed onto Sasuke's wrist and gripped it; Sarada performed a disarm stripping away the sword form Sasuke's grasp as it fell to the ground.
Konan coming up from behind brought back her paper kunai in an attempt to stab Sasuke; Sasuke twisted himself and threw a kick at Konan which Konan blocked. Konan stabbed her Kunai into Sasuke's calf making him wince in pain.
Konan pulled out the kunai for a second stab and Sarada got her kunai to stab Sasuke; Sasuke focused his lightning chakra into himself and released a stream of chakra through all of his chakra points at once 'chidori stream'.
Sarada and Konan were hit by the lightning directly; Sasuke seeing his moment turned to Konan and grabbed her hand holding the kunai. Sasuke stripped the kunai away and stabbed it into Konan's chest; Konan coughed up blood and Sasuke kicked her away. Sasuke once again turned to Sarada ready to attack but was greeted by a fist to the face courtesy of Naruto; Sasuke was sent skipping across the ground before regaining his footing.
"Konan" Jiraya shouted as he ran towards her; Jiraya stopped kneeled over her and ripped open her cloak "oh thank god" Jiraya said looking at the wound. The kunai was in Konan's chest but it missed her heart by being 3 inches to the right.
"L-looking at a woman's breasts while in battle sensei" Konan said with a bloody smile "you haven't changed much" she joked weakly.
"This is no time for jokes Konan" Jiraya said "Naruto; make a clone and have it take Konan to Tsubaki or Hinata and fast or she won't make it" Jiraya shouted.
"You got it pervy sage" Naruto said as he made a shadow clone that went to pick up Konan; the clone then ran off in the direction that Tsubaki and Moro ran off in in order to find one of them.
"Hmph; you're just delaying the inevitable" Sasuke said as he recalled his discarded sword on the ground with a seal on his wrist "you don't have a chance in hell in beating me" Sasuke said.
"Last I remember in your timeline you need to poison me and have Kakashi, Sakura and Kiba to beat me" Naruto said with a smirk "and as far as I can see you're all alone here bastard" Naruto said and Sasuke scowled.
"Shut it you gutter trash" Sasuke said as he readied his sword once more; before Sasuke could take a step he was surrounded by a murder of crows.
"You are such a disappointment Sasuke" Itachi's said in a disembodied voice "if I knew this is how you would turn out I would've killed you with the rest of our cursed clan" Itachi said and Sasuke scowled.
"Fuck you Itachi" Sasuke shouted "you don't know sacrifice; you don't know suffering; I built an empire in the name of the Uchiha while you just soiled it's legacy" he said. Sasuke was then slashed across the back by Itachi who came out of the murder of crows; Itachi then disappeared back into the murder before Sasuke could retaliate.
"Amazing; everything you just said was wrong" Itachi said; Sasuke now furious went through hand signs.
"Fire style: fire ball jutsu" Sasuke shouted; Sasuke shot fire at the crows setting them alight. Itachi jumped away patting out the embers that landed on his shoulder; Itachi went to Naruto, Sarada and Jiraya and looked at the fire died down and Sasuke walking out.
"I will rebuild my empire; it is my destiny" Sasuke said as lightning began to crackle around him.
"Your destiny is a unmarked grave where nobody will mourn you" Sarada said adjusting her glasses "and that's a promise" she said
With Naruto's clone
The clone was carrying Konan to possible find Tsubaki in order to save Konan's life; as he turned a corner, he found the next best person "Hinata" the Naruto clone shouted. Hinata just finished working on the unconscious Moro shot up and looked over and saw Naruto running over.
"Naruto" Hinata said surprised.
"No, I'm a clone; the boss is fighting Sasuke" The clone said as he laid Konan down.
"What happened to her" Hinata asked getting out a second medical scroll.
"Stab wound to the right chest" the clone said ready to help Hinata.
"I'll need you to keep pressure around the wound while I remove the blade" Hinata said "once it's removed, I will close up the wound and begin a blood transfusion" Hinata said and the clone nodded.
"How's the other battles going" the clone asked.
"Me and Karin left the other battle outside the village to help out Moro and Tsubaki" Hinata said "they are probably still fighting the edo tensei Kakashi and Sai; not to mention the cyborgs they brought back" she said. The clone looked at her wide eyed.
"Wait they're fighting what" the clone shouted.
With Tayuya, Kin and Guren
"Fuck, fuck, fuck" Tayuya shouted as she was on the back of one of the cyborgs stabbing into its neck with a kunai; as she brought down the knife again it broke "goddamn shitty kunai" Tayuya shouted as she was grabbed and thrown off the cyborgs back. Tayuya flipped in the air before landing "I need another weapon" Tayuya shouted; suddenly a shard of crystal shaped like a dagger landed in front of her "fuckin' sweet; thanks" Tayuya shouted as she grabbed the weapon.
Guren was on her back trying to hold up a crystal shield as 5 cyborgs were on top of her shield; the cyborgs were bashing themselves against the crystal using 100 percent of their power in order to break it.
"I can't hold them off much longer" Guren shouted as the crystal was about to break; the top of the crystal was hit by a explosion that threw the cyborgs off.
"Get off your ass Guren" Kin said as she threw more kunai with explosive tags at the cyborgs; the cyborgs dodged out of the way and were met by crystal pillars coming out of the ground trying to skewer them.
"Thanks" Guren said as she got back up and began to press on the attack "goddamn these things are a nuisance" she said as she looked over to Tayuya.
Tayuya stabbed the cyborg she was fighting in the eye twisting the crystal dagger scrambling its brain; Tayuya pulled out the dagger breathing heavily "finally fucking fuck" she said. Tayuya was suddenly tackled by another cyborg and began to wrestle with it "damn it are you fucking kidding me" she shouted.
With Ichigo
Ichigo slashed his Raijin no Ken at Kakashi who ducked under the blade and threw a sweeping kick at Ichigo; Ichigo jumped back to avoid the kick. As he did so Kakashi went through hand signs with his remaining hand before pulling out a scroll.
'Earth style: Fang hunter jutsu' Kakashi slammed the scroll onto the ground as kanji began to spread out; Ichigo readied himself as he knew this attack. Ichigo stepped onto the ground and the moment he did a dog appeared out of the ground and bit him on his ankle.
Ichigo winced as the razor-sharp fangs of the dog went into his leg; Ichigo swung his sword slicing off the dog's head as he began to jump away. As he did the rest of Kakashi's summoning dogs came out of the ground and attempted to bite him; Ichigo began to slash at the dogs as they avoided his attacks.
Kakashi seeing Ichigo distracted went through one handed hand signs and began to charge his left hand with a Raikiri; the Raikiri began to build until it became purple 'this should finish it' Kakashi thought as he readied himself.
Ichigo was fighting the dogs when he heard the sounds of chirping; Ichigo looked over and saw Kakashi running towards him with a purple Raikiri in his hand. Ichigo got ready to block it when the largest of the summoning dogs jumped onto his back and bit down on his neck.
Ichigo screamed in pain as the dogs' fangs sunk into his flesh; 2 other dogs' bit onto his calves holding him in place and another one bit his arm holding the sword. Ichigo looked on in horror as Kakashi moved in with his Raikiri blazing.
"Now die" Kakashi roared as he sent the lightning technique towards Ichigo.
With Yakumo and Gaara
Gaara was riding a wave of sand trying to keep a good distance from the 50 or so cyborgs attacking him; Gaara had the most cyborgs attacking him since he was seen as the biggest threat among the ninja present.
As Gaara rode the wave of sand a cyborg jumped off a tree in an attempt to tackle him; Gaara put up a wall of sand that caught the cyborg in mid-air "Sand coffin" Gaara said before closing his fist "sand burial" he said as he closed his hand on the cyborg.
The sand crushed the cyborg with tremendous force; suddenly a arm popped out of the sand coffin as the cyborg now heavily damaged tried to get out. Gaara was about to crush the cyborg once again but was helped when Yakumo hopping from tree to tree threw a well-aimed kunai hitting the cyborg in the temple killing it.
"Many thanks Yakumo" Gaara said.
"No prob- "Yakumo began until she was interrupted by a fire ball coming towards her; Yakumo went through hand signs 'Water Style: Water bullets' Yakumo fired a multitude of water bullets at the fire ball putting it out as she continued to dodge attacks from the 3 cyborgs chasing her. 'Damn I don't know how much longer I can keep this up' Yakumo thought as she continued hopping from tree to tree avoiding the cyborgs.
With Ino
Ino was in a fast-paced sword battle with Sai was they both danced around each other; Sai took a slash at Ino who used her flexibility to bend backwards as the blade went over her. Ino brought up her leg and kicked Sai in the hand; making him lose his grip on the blade.
Ino doing a spin slashed once more at Sai who jumped away landing next to his blade "quite impressive Ino" Sai said picking up his blade "you certainly are not the weakling you were in my time line" he said with his creepy fake smile.
"Enough games weirdo" Ino said getting into a low ready stance "lets end this; one strike" she said.
"Very well" Sai said getting into a high ready stance "goodbye Ino" he said.
Ino and Sai stared at each other for a few seconds sizing each other up.
Ino shifted her foot out and brought her blade down slightly; she looked at Sai with determination 'I can do this; just like how Ichigo showed me' she thought.
Sai brought his arm back slightly and brought his forward foot in as he shifted his weight 'no matter how good you get you cannot beat me' he thought.
One second the world stood still; the next both Ino and Sai rushed at each other at a speed to which they were barely a blur. They both ended where their opponents stood and Ino fell to the ground holding her left eye.
"Gah shit" Ino shouted as she held her bleeding eye socket; Sai slashed at her head and Ino at the last second avoided a fatal attack by tilting her head but Sai's blade still cut her eye.
Ino looked back and saw with her remaining eye a pleasant sight; Sai's head was cut in half and she could see that the seal holding his body in the world of the living was destroyed. Sai crumbled into dust as he fell to the ground; when he hit the ground the body of a girl was in its place.
Ino got up onto her feet and began to shakily walk away "Ichigo; where are you" she said to herself as she ran off.
With Ichigo
Kakashi was looking stunned at what just happened; Ichigo used his free hand to grab onto Kakashi's Raikiri and move it to a spot where it won't be an instant kill.
Ichigo coughed up blood as his right lung was destroyed from Kakashi's Raikiri piercing the right side of his chest; Ichigo began to laugh at Kakashi who turned to look at him. "You lose" Ichigo said; Ichigo used his left hand to grab onto his Raijin no Ken and brought up the blade towards Kakashi.
Ichigo decapitated Kakashi destroying the seal holding him together; Kakashi's summons all disappeared as his body fell to the ground crumbling into dust. Kakashi's arm got pulled out of Ichigo's chest leaving the wound wide open; blood began to rush out of Ichigo like a running faucet as he began to cough up more blood.
Ichigo fell to the ground and began to pull himself to a tree to lean up against; Ichigo put his hand onto his chest trying in vain to stop the bleeding. Ichigo began to feel light headed as his world began to flicker; Ichigo began to have images of his life flash before his eyes.
The day deserted the Konoha of his time, the day he met Sarada, Moro and Tsubaki, the day he befriended Naruto, the day he met Ino; he smiled as all the images were of the happy days he had even if they were few and far between.
"Ichigo" came a shout; Ichigo turned and saw Ino running towards him and skidding beside him "hold still I can- "Ichigo blanked out the words as he couldn't hear them anyway. Ichigo looked at Ino in pure silence; even as the world darkened around him, he could still see the woman he loved clearly. Ichigo smiled as blood began to drip out of his mouth and he spoke hoarsely.
"I love you; Ino" Ichigo said gaining her attention; Ino looked up at Ichigo to see him smiling blankly into nothing.
"Ichigo" Ino asked concerned grabbing his face "baby" Ino said trying to gain a response; Ino put her hand to his chest and felt no heartbeat. "No, p-please, I-Ichigo; don't go" Ino said grabbing his hand; Ino began to tremble and held his hand as she laid her head on his lap.
Ino began to sob silently holding onto the hand of the man she loved as the sounds of battle continued off in the distance.
With Naruto
Naruto and Itachi were both fighting Sasuke in a fast-paced taijutsu battle; Naruto threw a punch at Sasuke who blocked the blow and retaliated with a punch. Sasuke's fist collided with Naruto's jaw knocking several teeth loose; Sasuke followed up with a kick to Naruto's mid-section knocking the wind out of him.
Sasuke raised up his sword to strike down Naruto; but was stopped when Itachi grabbed onto his arm. Itachi hit Sasuke across the face with an elbow before tossing him through the air.
Sasuke was in the air when he heard the sound of chirping; Sasuke looked and saw Sarada coming at him with a Chidori in her hand; "Chidori" Sarada shouted as she tried to end the battle. Sasuke seeing this used his sword to swipe at Sarada's hand; Sarada was cut on her forearm making her cancel the attack.
Sasuke spun around and kicked Sarada across her face sending her to the ground; Sarada smacked the ground hard. Sarada looked up and saw Sasuke coming down with his blade at an angle to stab her; as Sasuke came down Jiraya jumped in front of Sarada.
"Needle Jizo" Jiraya's hair became spikey and sharp and Sasuke came down attempting to stab the toad sage; Sasuke's blade stabbed an inch into Jiraya's hair needles unable to puncture all the way through.
"Jiraya mo- "Sarada began to say until a blade of lighting went right next to her missing her by a few inches; Sarada saw in horror as Jiraya's jutsu began to fade and his hair receded.
Jiraya was stabbed through the heart by Sasuke's sword; Naruto and Itachi looked on in silent horror at the sight.
Sasuke leaned in and spoke "so much for the great toad sage" Sasuke said with a evil smirk "I guess- "Sasuke began until he was hit in the chest by an incredible force.
'Rasengan' as a last act of defiance Jiraya hit Sasuke with an over charged rasengan sending him flying; Sasuke landed a few dozen yards away coughing up blood as he looked down at his armor.
The chakra armor he was wearing was tough but it couldn't withstand a hit like that as it was now essentially broken in 2; Sasuke shed his armor and got back up on wobbly feet "I don't need that damn thing" he snarled.
"You talk to much" Jiraya said before he fell to the ground dead.
"Pervy sage" Naruto shouted as he ran over and grabbed his dead master "no you can't die here" Naruto said cradling his body. "What about Tsubaki; who's gonna walk her down the aisle" Naruto sobbed out "who's gonna train Nawaki to be a badass ninja like his old man" he said as he began to cry.
Itachi looked on solemnly and Sarada looked on in both sadness and guilt as it was her screw up that got Jiraya killed.
"You really feeling sorry for that trash" Sasuke said gaining all their attentions "it makes sense Orochimaru always told me what a loser Jiraya was when they were on the same team" he said. "And it looks like the cycle continued; a old loser teaching a younger loser" Sasuke said mockingly.
Naruto got up his 9 tailed chakra mode beginning to flicker making not only Sasuke more cautious but Sarada and Itachi more wary.
"Kit calms down" Kurama said inside Naruto's mind "I know you're beyond angry but don't overdo it" it said. "You might over load my chakra and- "he began but Naruto interrupted.
"Shut up fox" Naruto said looking down "Sasuke; you" Naruto said just loud enough for him to hear; Naruto's cloak went from gold to a dark red and he snapped his head up as his eyes changed into a golden Maroon. "You are a fucking dead man" Naruto shouted as waves of chakra began to roll off him and dust kicked up.
"Sarada lets go" Itachi said grabbing her and running away.
"But Naruto- "Sarada began but was stopped by Itachi.
"We don't want to be here right now" Itachi said looking back at Naruto "If we stay there, we might die as well" he said.
Naruto now in his new chakra cloak stood there as Sasuke looked on with a cold expression; Sasuke reached into his pocket and pulled out a syringe with a black liquid in it.
"I guess this is the endgame eh loser" Sasuke said as he jammed the syringe into his neck; suddenly from the injection point black veins began to roll across Sasuke's body until his body became completely covered in marks similar to Orochimaru's curse mark.
After a few second the transformation was complete; Sasuke's looked similar to his final curse mark form but it was slightly different. His hair was now white and his skin looked more scaley; suddenly a bone came out of his arm and Sasuke snapped it off and wielded it like a blade.
"Orochimaru developed this from that Kaguya clan member he had long ago" Sasuke said referring to Kimmimaru "after several years of testing on thousands of subjects he made this but sadly not in time to help out my army" he said. "But better late than never" Sasuke said.
"Your fancy tricks won't save you Sasuke" Naruto snarled "You will die at my hands even if it's the last thing I do" he said. Naruto then charged at Sasuke who charged in return as they closed in for the climax of their battle.
