Replies, buried in the ground:

lordgemini- One of the toughest things this time around was picking who voted for who, and making sure everyone has their reasons. A lot of the middle arc of Karon Island has (reasonably) unpredictable eliminations that I never specified last time on how they came about. So, now everyone has motives and proper confessionals where those motives are revealed.

Episode 11! Ten more to go after this!

Episode 11: Mine Little Disaster

Harsh winds were coming down on Karon Island already, and things were quickly worsening. Dark clouds were coming in over the horizon. Despite all the danger around them, Chris and Chef were on the dock like nothing was going on. "Last time, on Total Drama Karon Island, we did a challenge that is apparently like a video game that I didn't know about." Clips played of Angie shooting paint all over the ground. "Helio once again proved that an immovable object and unstoppable force are the two scariest things to be, and Jonathan proved that it's really easy to be a terrible human being." Clips played of Helio ripping trees out of the ground, and Jonathan sitting back while the big clearing fight happened. "Paul, after failing miserably in the social department, asked out Flora, which didn't end in total disaster!" Clips played of the two talking to each other.

"At the end of the day, even with paint bombs on their side, the Bouncing Bunnies were played by Angie, who took it upon herself to bring the Hens a much needed win, and that put Randall on the Launch of Shame after some odd events." Clips played of Angie defeating Paul, Ethan handing over the idol riddle, and Randall's elimination. "And, we paid one special visit to Paul via our agent of chaos." The final clip played of the mysterious figure appearing before Paul before switching back to the dock with Chris and Chef. The wind was affecting them a bit more now. "Looks like today is gonna stink! For them! Find out how it all goes down right here, on Total Drama! Karon Island!"

Opening Sequence

[Various cameras and other director equipment come popping out of various points on the island. Firstly, it appears out of a large tree, then out of a hole at the entrance to the mines, and finally, shooting all the way from the top of The Chasm.]

Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doing fine,

[The camera zooms all the way up at the top of Mount Karon. Kara is at the top, observing something as Kayla jumps off of the cliff and starts flying downward, opening up a parachute at the very last second.]

You guys are on my mind,

[The camera moves to the beach, where Gretchen falls off of the rocky cliff and lands face first into the water, still splashing around happily anyway. Nearby, Juan is relaxing in the water as Hannah pops up next to him, evidently annoying him.]

You asked me what I wanted to be, and I think the answer is plain to see,

[Near the beach, the fourth boat is still wrecked and crashed into a rock. Helio lifts the boat out of the water to move it, all while Daniel is still on it, shocked at the boy's strength. Meanwhile, Madison emerges from the boat wreckage as well, and Jonathan offers his hand to help, which she takes begrudgingly.]

I wanna be famous!

[Further into the woods, Paul is narrowly racing against Sarah in a race. The pessimist trips over Sheldon and crashes to the ground, upset over his loss because of it. Flora rushes over to check on the safety of both the boys.]

I wanna live close to the sun,

[At the base of Mount Karon, Randall is decked out in climbing gear, excited to start moving up the mountain. Next to him, Alexa, looks significantly disinterested, sleeping on a log instead of watching.]

Go pack your bags cause I've already won,

[In the forest, Chad is screaming and jumping around to different trees, while Angie stands in the middle of all of it, covering her ears and getting increasingly more agitated.]

Everything to prove, nothing in my way, I'll get there one day,

[As Chad makes more noises, Ethan and Norm watch from a tree in the distance, before both of them exchange an understanding nod. Next to them lies an empty poison bottle.]

Cause I wanna be famous!

[In the dining tent, Chef and Luna are conversing rather calmly, before a strike of lightning crashes down on the tent. Chef runs out, but Luna appears unfazed by it, instead calmly glancing upward.]

Na na, na na na na, na na na na, na na na na na na!

[The camera moves to the dock, where Luna appears out of nowhere, spooking Paul and Kayla. The two glare at her, the former giving up on caring much faster than the latter.]

I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous! I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!

[The camera drops down to the mines, where Kara is lurking, and she presses a button that launches out a ball of fire. The fire reveals some sort of odd structure inside the mine, bursting into a big glow that transitions to the fire.]

I wanna be famous *whistling*

[Everyone is circled up at the fire. In the middle of all of it, Jonathan leans in toward Madison, who jumps backward, accidentally landing in Ethan's lap, where she is even more freaked out. Above them is the sign that reads 'Total Drama Karon Island'.]

The Happy Hens were all slowly waking up. Norm sat pensively on his bed for a while as the others were getting ready for the day. Eventually, the antisocial genius spoke up, clearing his throat to get all their attention. "I have a question for all of you," he told them. "Just to be clear, I meant Juan and Ethan. Jonathan, whatever advice you have on this, it is probably going to stink."

Juan sighed as he descended from his top bunk. "Norm, with all due respect, I think Jonathan's been pulling his weight recently, and deserves a bit more respect than that." The brutal lover beamed at the praise, while Ethan shot Jonathan a mean look. Norm seemed put off by that statement too. "But, whatever you need from the three of us, what could it be?"

The genius shrugged upon hearing Juan's response to his callout. "Alright, but I do want to warn you that I really think he won't want to help on this one." He paused for a few more seconds before glancing up at the other three. "I was considering asking out Luna. We run into each other a lot, and she seems like a very nice person."

Jonathan was about to try and speak his mind on the matter, but he was cut off quickly. "Jonathan, save your breath," Juan told him, "turns out Norm was right, any advice you give is going to stink." Jonathan relented for a second, though not happy about it. "Well, Norm, if you think that's the right move, I'd follow your heart. She's definitely not my type, so you're not hurting any of us doing it."

The brutal lover shook his head. "Absolutely not," he said with disdain in his voice. "A cross-team relationship is a cross-team alliance, and I won't allow that." He glared at Norm. "All of the sudden I'm happy I was tricked two days ago and voted for you." Norm seemed very disinterested in Jonathan's objections. "You realize you're pretty much sharing that you'll betray us down the road."

Norm sighed. "This is why I wanted your input to be far away from here," he lamented. "Jonathan, just because your attempt at a relationship failed worse than anything I've ever seen doesn't mean that none of us are allowed to be happy." Jonathan looked especially angry at that remark. "I just wanted to let you all know I was doing that, I was probably going to do it anyway." Through all of this, Ethan silently watched the interactions between Jonathan and Norm.

Ethan: "Jonathan is getting more and more unstable," he pointed out. "That means he'll be relying on some sort of routine. That means his mood today is based totally on me and my cooperation level." He grinned excitedly. "Time to be a giant pain today."

In the Bunny cabin, Kayla was sitting on the top of her bunk, moping for some reason. Flora noticed this as she looked around the room, and decided to pursue it. The pacifist climbed to the top bunk and sat right next to the brat. "It hurts me to see you like this," Flora told her. "I really hope my outburst wasn't the cause of it. I truly would feel awful."

Kayla surprisingly let out a chuckle. "Flora, your 'outburst' yesterday was at my regular speaking level. Until just now when you said it, I actually forgot about it." She groaned. "I keep getting votes, and since you're a literal ray of sunshine I know it isn't you." Flora giggled at Kayla's comment. "What about you? You might be the only person on this team who's never gotten a vote, except maybe Helio?"

Flora grinned. "I personally do not know. I do not check the votes, I don't consider them very important." She flashed a smile at the brat. "You and Paul continuously fight, and that is what hurts our team the most. I feel that if we combined our efforts we could be unstoppable. All of us have our strengths." He pointed at Luna. "Luna's is obvious, Kara's the best tactical thinker, you're the quickest thinker, Helio's our muscle, and Paul..." she paused for a second. "He does a lot." She turned to him. "Can I ask you something personal about that?"

The brat seemed generally confused by that for a bit before connecting the dots. "Oh, I know what this is about," she said smugly. "I think you started this to cheer me up but quickly realized I interact with him the most." Flora's face turned red at the accusation. "Well, to be honest, you're asking the wrong person if you're looking for a specific answer, I hate his guts."

Flora shook her head violently. "No, it wasn't about that!" she pleaded, "I'm being honest." She blushed. "At the challenge yesterday...we were guarding the base...and...he sort of asked me out." Kayla looked very surprised at that, thinking that he didn't have it in him. "It happened so fast, I told him I'd think about it, and I think I'm leaning in one direction, but maybe-"

Kayla cut the pacifist off. "Relax, Flora," the brat said scoldingly. "I think you have your answer, you just have to say it to him now. That's on you, I don't have as much fun exposing your secrets like I do his." She got up. "Come on, let's win a challenge." As they were about to go outside, Kara came back inside, slamming the door shut. For the brief moment that the door was open, the wind howled drastically. "...or not. What's the deal out there?"

Chris's voice appeared over the speakers to answer that very question. "I'm so glad you asked, Kayla," Chris announced. "It's challenge time, but things are dicey out here!" The wind was even coming through the speakers, causing them to screech, much to the dismay of the campers. "Everyone needs to get to the south side of Mount Karon, where there will be a cave waiting for you, get in there!" Without any other questions, all the Bunnies left and made their way through the treacherous winds to get to the cave.

Once the eleven campers that were left made it to the mine, Chris and Chef were nowhere to be seen. The cave itself seemed relatively empty, with the exception of a suspicious elevator shaft at the end of the upper level. "Of course there's literally an elevator in this cave," Kara complained. "I was literally on my way to this cave when the winds hit!"

As she complained, the elevator doors opened, and Chris and Chef were standing there. "Ah, good, you all made it. Apparently, we've got a tornado on the way, and this island is not really fit to handle a tornado, it's not big enough." Some people began to look concerned. "Chill out, that's why we're here. We're planning on not experiencing it at all by hanging around in the mines until is passes. But, I thought it'd be fun to do a challenge in here."

Chris pulled down a monitor, which had a vague map of the cave. "Your challenge is to traverse the mine and activate a shield that Chef has been constructing throughout our time here. The mines down here are pretty dangerous, they haven't been carved out very well, so watch out for constant sinkholes as you move through it." Just at that time, a sinkhole opened up right below Luna.

The psychic glanced down unfazed, and let herself be swallowed up by it, as if she had expected that to happen. "Huh," Chris said. "I guess the Bouncing Bunnies might want to try and find Luna also. Maybe the sinkhole will swallow a Hen too." After some waiting, nothing happened, leaving the five Hens where they were. "...or not. Well, you know what to do, go!" The two teams all jumped into the sinkhole and descended into the mines to start their challenge. He then turned to Chef once all of them left. "Alright, turn the dome off."

Chef pulled up a more elaborate remote panel. He began hitting some things and typing in various passwords. "On it," he muttered as more and more password entries appeared for him. "Chris, are we really letting them find the controls for the Disaster Dome? We already have one overly curious person. This is leading them right to it to mess with later."

Chris laughed. "Ah, Chef, ever the skeptic." He shook his head. "Those kids are finding three switches that do absolutely nothing, they're not wired to anything. That map leads them toward the bottom of the cave, not anywhere near our control room." He shrugged. "Also, once this challenge is done, put the Disaster Dome back on. I just really wanted to do a challenge in the mines today." Chris paused for a second, then remembered something else. "Oh, the tornado too." Chef nodded, switching off the tornado instantly.

The Happy Hens were the first to figure out their surroundings. Jonathan instantly spearheaded the conversation, standing up and clearing his throat to grab everyone's attention. "Alright, everyone, I'm in charge again since I won last challenge for us. We split into two groups, a group of three, and a group of two. That'll keep us safe down there."

Ethan looked around to see if someone would take any objection to the brutal lover. "We're all just okay with this one?" he asked them. Norm seemed indifferent, as did Juan. Angie looked to be thinking about something else at the time. "Alright, well, I guess that's what we're going to do." He turned to the antisocial genius. "Norm, come on, let's do this."

Jonathan shook his head, shoving Ethan out of the way before he could make it over to Norm. "Not so fast," he said to the anti-villain. "I'm sticking with you so I can keep an eye on you." He shrugged. "Norm, why don't you run off with Angie and Juan? That way you can be helpful with their group." He narrowed his eyes at Ethan. "Come on, let's go."

Eventually, Angie finally stopped being lost in thought and spoke up. "Hold on a second," the hothead said boldly. "First of all, I was too enthralled with the weaponry yesterday to care, but Sarah did not die and make you leader. Second, I don't like you two going together. I don't want a fight to break out and have you ruin the challenge." She smirked. "Why don't we ask the person who's led us to the most wins to settle this? Oh, wait, that's me!"

Angie's angry tone was now sounding very strongly through the cave system, leaving the Hens in a very tense state. Surprisingly, Ethan was the one to break the silence. "Don't worry, Angie," he said with a glum tone that surprised Jonathan. "I don't mind listening to him, I'd rather make myself useful while I still have the chance to." He kicked some rocks and started moving in Jonathan's direction, which seemed to shock the taller boy. Noticing Jonathan's shocked face, Ethan had a smug grin on his face.

Jonathan: "Of course he picked the worst time to be down in the dumps," he complained. "I need him to be ready to win this challenge. I can't spend all day putting him back on his feet!" He groaned. "What a hassle."

Flora quickly took the lead on assigning groupings for the Bunnies. "This mine could be very dangerous," she explained. "I think our best bet is splitting into two groups of three." She took a quick second to decide on how to split the team up the best. "With Luna gone, that means one of us is a group of two though...How about I go with Paul, and then Kara can take Kayla and Helio?"

Kara nodded. "Sounds good to me, I can manage the two of them no problem." Kayla shot her sister a glare. "Good luck finding Luna, I can't believe she got this separated from us from the start." The curious girl turned to her group. "Okay, Team Kara, we have a mystery to solve- I mean...a shield to turn on." She gasped. "What if the shield is actually something-" she cut her own self off by dashing forward in excitement. "Let's go!"

The other two rushed to catch up with Kara, who was not that much slower than them. "Hey, can you, like, not run off like that?" Kayla griped. They had already run a pretty far distance into the mine. From what they could see, Paul and Flora were already out of sight. She glanced at their fork in the road that they had just encountered. "Alright, anyone got a plan here?"

Helio inspected both paths before smiling with an idea. "Me think it down," he said assuredly. Kayla groaned at the strongman's ridiculous comment before letting out a yell. A bunch of dirt had caved in just below her, forcing the brat to dive out of the way, barely avoiding the new sinkhole in the ground. "Mean girl be more careful with dirt," Helio told her, the brat not appreciating that comment.

Kara took a second to examine more of the walls. She poked one, causing some dirt to spill out. "This whole place is incredibly poorly built," she said as the dirt continued pouring out onto her feet. "This is really messed up, no mine should be this unstable." She took a step back, causing a sinkhole to catch her and throw her down a level, her scream the only thing able to signal the other two.

"Kara!" Kayla called out, but to no avail. The curious girl was certainly missing already. "Crap, we gotta get to this switch room fast." She glanced around for an idea, and eventually saw a giant rock. "Helio, smash that mine floor with that rock right there." Helio picked up the huge rock, and threw it down where Kayla had told him to, causing a manual sinkhole that time.

Kayla poked her head through the hole, and nodded. She gestured for Helio to come down with her. "Wow, you smart," Helio complimented the brat, causing the girl to whip her head around in shock. She had not seen that one coming.

Kayla: "He has muscle so I figured I'd use it," she explained. "I mean, I totally know I'm not actually smart, but I guess anyone seems smart to a walking forklift."

Ethan and Jonathan were going in the opposite direction of the main group of Bunnies. Jonathan was pushing ahead with vigor while Ethan dragged behind him, occasionally groaning or sighing in what sounded like pain. Eventually, one groan was one too many for Jonathan's ears. "Okay, I don't know why you sound so upset, but frankly, I do not care. Snap out of it!"

"I wish it was that easy," he said with a defeated tone. "Jonathan, do you have any idea the crushing guilt I have?" Jonathan seemed shocked to hear the candid words coming from his nemesis. "Ever since you claimed to have found something on me, I have to use my skills that I thought would be for good, and now I'm doing your dirty work with them! Everyone since Hannah has effectively been my fault."

Jonathan laughed at the sentiment. "Oh, please, you go back further than Hannah. Honestly, this is a favor to you, I'm making it easier to burn those bridges." He smirked. "I can't believe that you expect me to believe you've been trying to be a hero." He noticed a metal pipe against the wall. "Look, this is odd. If we follow it, we could get the room we need to find."

"Maybe I wasn't trying to be the hero at first," Ethan admitted ignoring Jonathan's discovery, "and right now, thanks to you, I can't be. But this blackmail only works for so long. Eventually I can get rid of you and be safe enough anyway. I won't lose, I can't. But, that means that right now I can't do anything." He glared again at Jonathan. "Can we get out of this mine now?"

"Yeah, like three speeches ago I found a possible way out, you should have been listening instead of telling me that my blackmail stops working at some point, letting me expose you to everyone left whenever that happens." He grabbed Ethan's shirt. "You took all of my happiness on the island, and I get to take everything from you now, that's it, get over it!" He glanced ahead. "Let's move. I don't plan on losing today."

Suddenly, as they were walking through a bit further, they heard something zoom by them. "What was that?" Jonathan asked hastily, having a serious hunch about what it might have been. "Ethan, we need to get out of here now," Jonathan ordered, picking up his pace. Ethan merely squinted his eyes in confusion, very much noticing the same thing as Jonathan.

Paul and Flora were way ahead of everyone else, and continuing to move quickly. "I can't believe somehow Luna slipped away from us that quickly," Paul said as he moved through the mine. "I mean, obviously the control room could be anywhere, but Luna has to be down, right?" Even though they were moving quick, something was moving faster. Eventually, it stopped in front of them. "No, not again..." Paul complained. "Flora, get back."

Flora seemed really confused at the whole thing. Paul held himself unfazed by the mysterious figure, at least, pretending to be unfazed. "I'm so lost here," Flora admitted as she gazed at the spooky silhouette ahead of Paul. "Who are you?"

The mysterious figure laughed. "Oh, that is so not my place to tell you," it explained. "Here's the deal," it said with a slightly excited tone. "You made yourself easy pickings, so I want to see what you can do. Just for a bit." It tossed one of the swords Paul had seen the night before to him, while drawing another one out itself. "A quick duel, let's say...winner can leave the cave."

Paul seemed really scared now. "Flora, run," he said again. "Get out of here!" he warned a third time. Finally, Flora accepted the order, and tried to get away from the area. "Fine, but only because I really need to start living," he said. He tried to run up at the figure, but the figure vanished in an instant, appearing right behind Paul and striking him with the handle. "So fast..." Paul muttered.

"You should be grateful," the mysterious figure complimented him. "You've looked angry or depressed since the day you got here." The figure vanished again this time, appearing right in front of Paul. It took another swing, which Paul tried to block, but it ended up pushing Paul way back. "All of the sudden, you need to start living." One more swing, again, Paul unable to keep up.

The figure then swooped in behind Paul and took the sword from his hand. "Shame, I thought you'd be better," the mysterious figure admitted. "I have no intention of keeping you in the cave, I needed you to want it though." Just then, Kara emerged from a sinkhole above them, crashing into the ground between them. "Not her," the figure decided, and disappeared as quickly as it had shown up.

Flora came rushing back, helping Paul recover from that incident. "Paul, are you okay?" she asked worriedly. "I...am honestly shocked by how accurate Randall's depiction of that figure was. Does it have a name?" Paul shook his head, seeming to not know. "Well, let's keep moving. The faster we find that switch, the faster we escape the cave." She turned to Kara. "You're more than welcome to come with us."

Kara seemed distracted by the thing she had just seen rather than the fact she feel through the ground. Eventually, she snapped back to reality. "One mystery at a time," she concluded to herself. "Sorry, of course I'd love to help you find it. Randall was right..." Almost instantly, she lost her train of thought again thinking about the figure.

Near the middle of the cave, the other three Hens were roaming around, looking for any sort of clue. "This place is so gross," Angie muttered as she pressed her hand up against a wall. Dirt spilled out of it like it did with the Bunnies. "They better send us out of here soon!" She stomped on the floor, causing a sinkhole to open up. The hothead narrowly avoided it. "Oh, that's just incredible to see, we're in another pit trap."

Juan had also just barely gotten out of the way of a pit. "The dirt here is way more unstable than anywhere else we've seen, but perhaps it is a good idea to follow it." He glanced at the pit that had just been created beneath his feet. "A hidden switch wouldn't make a very good challenge if it was high up. Odds are it's down."

"Interesting thought," Norm agreed. "I, for one, will not be subjecting myself to that level of pain just to get a few more feet. For all we know, Jonathan and Ethan are moments away from finding it and we'd just be hurting ourselves for nothing." As he said that, a hole opened up below him. Norm was nowhere near as fast as the other two, and fell all the way through. His screams could be heard for a while.

Once Norm left, Angie turned to Juan. "Well, that's a dork lost to the dark. He might be a goner down there, and I don't really feel moved to after him." She narrowed her eyes. "So, while we wait, why don't you tell me what's going on with you?" Juan seemed nervous about that question. "Because there's been a lotta weird stuff going on, and I think it's you. Tell me why you lied to us about what language you spoke and why you chose to stop."

Juan looked really concerned about that question. "To be honest, I truly thought it would help me fly under the radar," he responded nervously. "But...you saw how Hannah was acting. I needed results, and that needed clear communication." He looked at her a bit more confidently. "You voted for her often as well. I don't see where this affects ether of us."

Angie shrugged. "All I'm saying is that Jonathan and Ethan are too busy fighting each other to fight anyone else, Norm doesn't seem to care at all, and one of the two votes that strategically got rid of Madison was you." Juan was now put off immensely. "Regardless of whether or not it was you every time, it was obviously you some of the time." She glanced down at the hole. "Those are my thoughts. I wonder if Norm is alive still." Juan was quiet for the rest of the challenge.

Much, much further below, Norm finally landed in a pool of water. He pulled himself out, disgusted by how much he had been messed up. "This isn't even sewage, it's just that dirty," he griped. He finally wiped the water out of his eyes to see Luna quietly sitting in a circular rock in the middle of the water. "Oh, you're here. You took quite the fall, are you doing okay?"

Luna shrugged nonchalantly. "It was less of a fall for me compared to what you experienced. I was actually in great shape down here, check out what I was able to find." She pulled out a large sheet of paper. "It's a map for the mines, that means worst case scenario, we have a way out of here." She giggled. "I'm sure Kara will appreciate this too, considering how much she enjoys snooping around."

"That girl is a mystery to me," Norm admitted. "She could do great if she played the game but she seems way more interested in figuring out very obvious secrets this island has." He sighed. "But, it is actually good I found you. I refuse to beat around the bush. I think we've made it pretty apparent to each other that we like each other. What do you say to making this a real thing?"

"I'd love that!" Luna said excitedly. "I mean, I sort of knew you were going to do that today, but it didn't make me any less excited about it." She pulled Norm into a hug, who seemed surprised she did that since he was still drenched. "Come on, we're nowhere near the switch, so let's just get out of this mine as soon as we can." The two left the bottom of the mine with their hands intertwined.

Luna: "That was exactly how I knew it would be!" she said with a dreamy gaze. "I just hope Norm doesn't run into too much trouble since I'm on the other team."

Norm: "All things considered, that could have been worse," he admitted. "Maybe this game is worth something after all."

Kayla and Helio fell into the spot they hand jumped through. The two hit the ground, quickly gathering their surroundings. Kayla quickly started to celebrate upon seeing a switch. "Oh yeah! That is why I took charge!" As she looked around, she noticed there wasn't only one switch, but actually three. "Okay, that shouldn't be a giant issue," she added, speaking a bit more nervously.

The brat pulled down a switch, but as she did, it went back up as soon as she let go. Kayla ran around, trying it with the other two switches to get the same result. She spent some more time at the third one, getting increasingly angry at her failure. Helio watched all of this silently. Eventually, the strongman thought of something. "Me have idea," he told her.

Helio stepped toward one of the switches before being stopped by Kayla. "No, you'll wreck the things!" she yelled at him. Helio tried advancing again, but was stopped. "Wait, Helio. We can just hold off until one of our teammates gets here. They can't all be lost." Helio still looked very desperate to try his plan. Eventually, the brat relented. "Okay, fine, do whatever it is you're thinking of."

With a grin, Helio walked up to the middle switch, and yanked it down as hard as he could. He then punched it into the wall, denting it profusely. The switch didn't go back up upon release this time. He walked over to the first switch, pointing at the third. "You pull that one. Me pull this one now."

Kayla watched as Helio had somehow solved the puzzle. "Wow that actually worked," she said in shock, as she pulled down the switch at the same time as Helio. Once all three switches were down, all of them stayed down. "So, what happens now, did we win or what?"

The switches seemed to have opened up a small door, that Chris stepped out of. He first noticed only two people here. "Well, that's a shocker," Chris said to himself, "didn't take you two as the loophole-finding type. Which one of you did it?" Kayla pointed to Helio, who gave Chris a goofy grin. "Well, that's even more shocking." He grabbed a microphone, which sent out a message to the whole mine. "Attention, everyone, somehow you were just beaten by Kayla and Helio. The Bouncing Bunnies win!" Kayla smirked as she fist-bumped the strongman. "Hens, I will see you tonight."

Helio: "Me plan good," he told the camera. "Me lead brothers on farm good too." He had a very proud smile on his face.

Jonathan: "A loss was not on my plans today," he admitted, "but there's merit to that. I have a solid target for Ethan to struggle to get the votes on, while I take another crack at Norm. I need Juan's vote tonight though, and I guess Angie's, so that means it'll be a tough one."

The Happy Hens were all quietly having their dinner, no one seemed to be saying anything. Eventually, it was Angie who spoke up. "So, I think tomorrow I need to take over again," she said firmly. "Jonathan, you got lucky yesterday, but this showed us how truly awful at leading you are." She showed no mercy as she spoke illy of his leadership. "But, that doesn't solve things tonight. Someone has to go, and I'm a bit concerned the four of you are going to gang up on me." She shot a look to Juan angrily while Ethan watched in silence.

Jonathan cleared his throat. "Angie, wherever you heard that from is absurd. I have no plans to vote for you tonight. We should take account of where all of us were during the challenge. That would help things out, right?" He turned to Ethan to agree with him, the anti-villain merely shrugging to comply. The brutal lover gritted his teeth at the deadpanned reaction.

"I disagree," Norm countered, earning a glare from Jonathan. "We all just stuck with our groups, right? I fell to the bottom of the mine close to the end of the challenge, but you heard Chris, all of us lost, not just me." He shrugged. "It sounds to me like you're trying to oust someone specifically, and knowing your voting pattern, I know who it is." Angie watched the two argue.

Ethan finally spoke up to the team. "Well, if we're being honest, I don't think it's worth having this conversation, we all know things never go the way they're supposed to anyway." He shrugged. "It works for the Bunnies a lot, why don't we just vote tonight? I truly have no care of what happens."

A very different conversation was happening with the Bunnies. "Are you all serious?" Kayla asked them, "you're telling me that this creature thing Randall claims to have seen is real and Paul fought it with a sword?" Kara and Flora nodded. "Okay...did he win?" The two girls slowly shook their heads. "That settles it. Whoever this weird creature thing is, they're my friend."

"Do you think it's one of us?" Kara asked, looking around the room. "Like, what if there's some super cool vigilante person running around? Then again, it probably also be like a robot or something, which is the more likely option." She turned to Luna. "What do you know about this thing?" Luna was not paying attention. "Hey, Luna?"

The psychic turned her head around quickly from Norm to the team once she realized she was being called. "Oh, sorry! I was totally distracted for a second. What thing are you talking about? This is the first I'm even hearing of it." Everyone looked a bit more concerned hearing not even Luna knew the answer to that.

Dinner was cut short by an announcement from Chris. "Hi, everyone, I'm very bored so we are going to vote now instead of a bit down the road tonight. Hens, I need you at the top of Mount Karon in ten minutes! Get voting and go!" The five remaining Hens looked at each other uneasily and started to walk up to the top to face an elimination ceremony again.

Ethan: "For once, I actually agree with Jonathan's target," he said bluntly. "My only other better option is Jonathan himself. Wonder why he gave me such an easy one today..."

ELIMINATION X, HAPPY HENS

There were only five Hens left, only half of the team they had started with, and it was about to become even smaller. Chris and Chef showed up, only having four marshmallows left on the plate. "Here's how this is going to go," Chris told them, "well, actually, you know how this goes, because, you know, after tonight you all will have lost six players. You might make us have to merge early if that's the case."

Angie groaned. "I'm so sick of you annoying teasing! We know our team sucks more than anyone, so there's no need to keep diving into it the way you do." She had contorted anger on her face, was more than normal. "Start getting rid of people or I'm gonna just get up and leave!"

Chris snickered. "Someone's a bit angry for not getting any votes against her," Chris said with a laugh. Angie perked up a bit. "That's right, you're safe." He tossed the hothead the first marshmallow. He then turned to Ethan. "I don't think you really did anything today, but you're also safe." He tossed the anti-villain the second marshmallow, and suddenly half of them were already gone.

Jonathan looked nervous for a second, while Juan seemed surprised to still be out. Norm was passively watching, seeming to not care. "Jonathan, your leadership stank today, worse than normal." The brutal lover frowned at Chris's remark. "But, you seem to have been forgiven." He tossed Jonathan the third marshmallow. "That leaves Juan, who Angie accused of being behind the odd votes, and Norm, who we all know the reason why he's down here." Chris held up the final marshmallow. "Tonight's loser is...

...Juan!" Norm, unfazed by his low placement, caught his marshmallow quietly. The Spaniard looked really shocked to be the one going home. "Juan, the Launch of Shame is that way, let's get to it!"

Juan turned to Angie. "Perhaps I could have done a better job explaining myself to you," he told her. "But, even though I lost, I can assure you it was not me causing the odd eliminations. I narrowed it down to two people, but I never figured out which one of them it was. Until just now, that is."

Angie seemed surprised. "It seriously wasn't you? Really?" She turned to the other three. "Great, so one of you is out to get me for sure...probably only went with Juan because he was figuring it out." She looked at Juan as he got on the Launch of Shame. "Okay, well, how about you tell us which of the two it was?"

The Spaniard glanced at Angie, then over to Ethan, then over to Jonathan. "I...I don't think I'm going to spoil their fun," he decided. He turned to Chris. "Launch me. I'm done here." Without hesitation, Chris hit the button, sending Juan into the sky. His scream were more than that of anyone else they had seen launched.

Chris watched until Juan was out of sight. "Huh. Chef, maybe Randall was just a weirdo, that almost felt too high." Chef shrugged. "You're right, it can stay at that height. Alright, get out of here, kids." The four Hens that were left made their way back to the cabins. Jonathan had an angry look on his face, knowing he failed again. "We're down half our campers!" Chris announced. "Nine to go, but we have way more challenges and pain coming your way, next time, on Total! Drama! Karon Island!

Vote Confessionals:

Angie: "Juan is definitely way too shady. I need to get him out before he does anything else.

Ethan: "Sorry, Juan. I know you wanted us to stick together but I have suspicions.

Jonathan: "I think I got this right this time. Norm."

Juan: "Norm, this is the only way I stay in the game. Nothing personal."

Norm: "I personally disagree with this one, but Juan needs to go now, I guess.

Total: Juan (3), Norm (2)

Alright, we are over halfway done now! Juan was so much more fun to write this time around. His silence plot at the beginning and him lying about his native language makes the swap over to Submerged Juan easier and more seamless. I think he was a much stronger and more important character this time around, so let's dive into new stuff!

- Bunnies got a lot more focus this time, as well as some Hens that needed screentime. This was a Helio and Angie episode, and I think that worked out pretty well. Paul and Flora got a much larger scene (before it was just Kara dropping in). Plus, the mysterious figure played with them too, and some of their personality was revealed in a way that makes sense with them further down the road.

- Angie accused Juan of being the odd voter, which is new to this one. It used to be that Angie was just enjoying being the swing vote, but I think it makes more sense for her to act spontaneously like this.

- The Bunnies now have a lot of people who know about the mysterious figure, including the people who I think should know for the end of the story, since most of them have encountered them once or twice.

Other than that, I think we covered everything! This is going very well, and I think it is good to be back in the writing groove, so I am very much planning on making another story unrelated to the Karonverse, so stay posted on that! Leave a review letting me know what you thought of the new mine episode! I'll see you next time!
