Rainbow Six Chapter 4

Rainbow Tactical Operations Center, Hereford, United Kingdom

Bishop was in the tactical operations center coordinating all the teams sent to the United States. He didn't like not knowing what was happening. Just then the large monitor lit up and he saw Keller.

"Bishop, those attacks in New York and Washington were diversions. Black Tusk is in LA with the chemical weapons. My team is onboard an LAPD chopper headed toward the water supply plant." Keller explained

"Understood. Finish the mission and stop Black Tusk by any means necessary."

"Copy that."

After finishing the video call, Keller looked at his team and began to check his equipment. He noticed that he only had 4 fresh magazines left.

"Okay team, we are finally going after Black Tusk. Let's finish this." Keller said

"About time we put them in the ground," Knight responded.

They were interrupted by the pilot "One minute till we touchdown at the landing zone. You'll be on your own from here on out."

"Copy that."

That one minute passed quickly and the ropes went over the sides of the chopper. Keller grabbed the rope and slid down it. Immediately headed for cover and looked for any threats. He saw his team finally make it to the ground and they regrouped.

"The Water Treatment plant is a few clicks north. Watch out for snipers and do this silently. We don't want them to accelerate their plan." Keller said

The group of counterterrorism operators nodded and went into a V Formation. After making it through the abandoned streets they found the facility. Peeking around a corner Keller saw two Black Tusk guards. Without ever saying anything, his team knew what to do. Lining up his shot, he pressed the trigger in rapid succession as two 5.56 rounds hit the enemy on the left taking him down. The other guard was hit before they could react. The team ran towards the gate and checked for more targets.

"Remember, take-down any Black Tusk personnel. If they surrender, zip tie them."

Felix was watching as the men in hazmat suits carefully began rolling the drums of chemicals when his radio rang out.

"Sir. The men at the gate aren't responding."

"Rainbow is here then. Shoot to kill. No mercy."

"Yes sir!"

"Get the marksman into position and ambush them. Our plan must be successful."

This mission was what he and his men were waiting for. To crush the Americans. His deep cover status was perfect when he was tasked to infiltrate the US Navy and later Homeland Security. He knew how they fought and reacted to such a crisis.

Keller's Assault Team

Knight spotted a Black Tusk operator come out of a large building. She aimed her rifle and took him down with a 3-round burst.

"Good job Knight. Listen, let's get to that building and clear it out. According to the schematics, that's the main area of operation for the plant." Keller said

Pulling down his night vision goggles he didn't see anything suspicious. He ordered half his team to move toward the building and the other to cover them. It was when they breached the building that all hell broke out. Park was the first to enter the fatal funnel and was hit in the head.

"Park! Rainbow 1-2 is down. Knight, get him out of here!"

"On it!" She replied.

With two operators out of the fight. It was up to the rest of the elite team to end the terrorist threat. Keller took down three hostiles and saw another with a rocket launcher.

"RPG! Get down!"

The resulting explosion caused a ringing sensation in his ears and his hearing was muffled. The disorientation was unbearable but he needed to check on his team. He had already lost one operator, he didn't want to lose anymore. They needed to regroup and go on the offense.

Black Tusk Team

Felix realized that Rainbow was getting closer to his position and he really didn't have any more soldiers to send. He just hoped that he accomplished his mission in time. There would be no escape for him but his men killed one of the Counter Terror Operators. A deviating blow to that elite unit. If he could kill more of them, he would be delighted. Sweat trickled down his neck. Checking the drone feed he saw the hostile forces pinned down by his men. A small smile crept on his face. It was all going according to plan.

Keller's Team

The ringing didn't stop, but he knew he needed to get his team to stop Black Tusk before it was too late. Getting up he felt something wet and the smell of burning flesh. He saw Lt. Fred Franklin, his entire right side was missing and he was completely still. He died imminently and one of Rainbow's original members was dead. Feeling the rage of another team member dead he had to keep his head clear.

"Franklin is down! Get up those stairs. We're going to finish this once and for all."

Checking his weapon and inserting a fresh magazine. Aiming his weapon at the guy with the rocket launcher. Firing a quick burst from the rifle, the man fell off of the catwalk. Walking up the stairs he continued firing on any Black Tusk member that got in his way.

"Keller, this is Knight. We believe their leader is in the control room."

"Understood. Knight, you're with me. The rest of you, stop them from putting the chemicals in water."

"Understood sir!"

Keller and Knight slowly made their way to the control room. They saw Black Tusk everywhere though. Nodding to his fellow operator. They shot the first two terrorists who dropped immediately after being hit by 5.56 ammo in the head.

Of course, the other guards heard the clang of weapons falling to the ground. Seeing their comrades on the ground alerted them to Rainbow's presence. Before they could raise the alarm, they fell to the ground dead as well. Hearing gunfire from the other area of the water treatment facility, they figured the other part of the team had it covered. Walking through the area he spotted a corner and hoped they would find the enemy commander.

Keller saw a Black Tusk guard walk around the corner and a split second later he slashed his knife at the surprised enemy. Slashing at the neck the guard dropped and a gurgling sound was heard. Messy but effective. Putting the knife back, he raised his rifle to the high-ready position.

Seeing the door to the control room. They heard voices and knew they found their target. Quickly checking the area for IEDs. Using hand signals they made ready to enter the room. Knight got a crash bang ready. Cracking the door open slightly, Knight threw the device into the room. Hearing the bang, they immediately entered the room and shot at the hostiles. The enemy commander looked in shock. A split second later Keller shot out three rounds in him and he slumped down dead. His communication headset buzzed and heard his other team.

"Keller, this is Walter. We stopped them before they could contaminate the city's water supply."

"Copy that, the enemy commander is dead. I'll contact headquarters and tell them we stopped the attack."

"Good copy Keller. Walter out."

He looked at Knight and nodded.

"Good work out there."

"All in a day's work. This is why our unit was created. To eliminate terrorists."

Catching his breath and looking at the carnage. They finally stopped their attacks. But at what cost, two Rainbow operators were killed and hundreds of civilians died. Black Tusk's leader was out there in the wind.

"Bishop, this is Keller. We stopped Black Tusk and killed the commander of this operation. We lost two operators and some of the team was wounded."

"Good work out there. I see. Collect any Intel you find and our analysts will share the information with Fourth Echelon."

A cell phone in the enemy commander's pocket buzzed. Picking up the phone he saw a text message from an unknown number.

"Is the mission complete Felix?"

"Sir. We have a cell phone from the dead commander. Sending the information and number to you now." Keller said

"Our analysts will get on it. Hopefully, it'll lead us to Natalya Sokolova. I want your team to get back to LAX and board the military transport we're sending. See you soon. Bishop out."
