A certain warden stretched her back after a hard day of work with nightfall she had decided to rest for now since she would be pretty busy the next day. Well, that was the plan but that changed when she noticed something bright in the sky and at first she thought it was a shooting star but that wasn't the case. She knew it wasn't a shooting star when it seemed to linger in the sky, it even got closer and closer until she realized what it was. A fiery ball flew right over her before impacting somewhere in the distance and feeling curious she decided to go check it out. "I guess she's back..."
When Kronii made it to the impact zone, the darkness didn't make it easy to see what is in the crater. Luckily for her, the clouds started to part letting the moon's light shine through. She could finally see the person lying in the epicentre and one would expect whoever crashed here would be dead but Kronii knew better than to think that. It took a minute for the person to pick themselves off the ground and dust themselves off. The girl currently in the crater wore an oversized black and yellow jacket, underneath the coat is a white shirt with black gloves. She dusted off her black skirt before stretching like she didn't just impact the Earth from space. Kronii noticed one thing about her and that is the fact that her clothes looked like they burned heavily by something. She snapped her finger and all of her clothes were fixed like nothing happened to them. Kronii watched as she placed her hand on the large leather book on her hips. She remembers a rather morbid fact about that book she once told her, despite its size that book contains every bit of information she has ever collected. Not only that but apparently if she ever loses it and someone tries to read it they will be filled with all that information and their brain is overloaded with that information. She told her that she figured out how to fix those individuals, which made her question, how many times did that happen for her to figure it out.
"Ugh, I gotta stop doing that." The girl named Sophia kicked the dust off her boots. "Now... where did I land? I remember opening a portal so I hope it's Earth I landed on."
"It is." Sophia turned towards the voice to see that it is Kronii and she smiled since it has been three months since she has last seen her.
"Kronii, I'm glad to see you again." Sophia held out her arms for a few seconds before she tried to beckon her over. "Come on, bring it over here." Sophia noticed that Kronii wasn't coming over to her as she expected and she just stood staring at her so she began to wonder what was the matter. "What's the matter? Not going to hug me?" Sophia jokingly said.
"Do you think I would do something like that?"
"Well, you have before. So that means something is bothering you, am I correct?"
"Not really..." Kronii was quiet for a few moments before she spoke again. "You've been gone for quite some time."
"Yeah, I was on the other side of this galaxy."
"That far, huh?"
"Yep, I've already recorded about half of this galaxy and once I'm done with this one, I'm going to our closest neighbour the Andromeda Galaxy!"
"So... you're not going to be here much, huh?"
"Hmm... yeah, I guess I won't be on Earth as much as I used to if I'm in Andromeda." Sophia quickly noticed something about Kronii and she figured out what was bothering her. "Hmm, I noticed that you mentioned I would be gone for quite some time. So, the thing that's bothering you is that I haven't seen you enough."
"No, not at all." Kronii quickly dismissed as she looked away from Sophia, she was thankful that it was night since it helped hide the redness on her face.
"You know I can see you, right? I've travelled the darkness of space, I've made it so I can see in the dark easily."
"S-Shut up, you're seeing things." Kronii turned away from Sophia feeling even more embarrassed than before. Kronii sighed a little before continuing with what she wanted to say. "I've heard that you visited Mumei a few days ago."
"Yeah, I saw her a few days ago. She wanted my help with something, but I left quickly after that." Sophia chuckled a little which confused Kronii a little since it seemed out of nowhere. "I knew it. You did miss me."
"I-I told you, that isn't what this is about."
"Sure, whatever you say."
"Just get out here! I'm sure you have more work to do."
"You're right. I do have something I need to do." Sophia turned around as a portal opened up nearby and she noticed something was in her breast pocket. She pulled a piece of a rock and began to wonder how it even got there in the first place. She threw it away but noticed that she stopped hearing the sounds of the wilderness. She glanced at the rock she threw away and noticed that it was floating. Another thing she noticed was that everything seemingly stopped in their tracks almost like time had stopped. Suddenly she felt a pair of arms wrap around her shoulders and realized that Kronii had stopped time. Sophia did her best not to move so she doesn't ruin this moment since it is rare for her to be the one to initiate any form of intimacy. She debated with herself on deciding whether or not to tell Kronii more about herself. "Should I? I mean not everyone knows that the rules of this universe don't apply to me. So the things like the flow of time don't affect me. I might get a cute reaction out of her if I tell her, but that would mean she would stop doing this. I'll keep this a secret for now." Sophia's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a rock hitting the ground and she realized Kronii had stopped hugging her. She looked over her shoulder to see Kronii walking away and an idea popped into her head but before she could do it, she had some work to do. Sophia walked through the portal and after it closed, the ground she had impacted into started to close up as if it didn't happen.
As she opened the door to her home, Kronii sighed as she thought about what just happened. "Damn it. Why am I acting like? I shouldn't be like this."
"Yeah, what's up, Kronii? Were you lonely like I thought?" Kronii let out a scream from the unexpected voice on her couch. She turned on the light to see Sophia casually lying on her couch while petting her dog.
"What are you doing here?! I thought you had something to do?"
"Oh, that? I finished it already."
"No way you could have finished it so quickly."
"What? Did you forget that time is not a thing where I work? From your perspective, I looked like I left and come back, but in actuality, I have spent a considerable amount of time in there."
"Right. I forgot."
"I'm here now. We can do whatever you want."
"Whatever I want, huh?"
"Yep!" Sophia smiled at the time warden for a few seconds before the smile disappeared. "...I want to say I'm sorry."
"Sorry? Sorry for what?"
"Well, I'm sorry because I neglected you for five months. I guess I also wanted to say that if you want to see other people I understand and accept that decision." Kronii could tell that while she looked rather calm and composed, she could hear it in her voice. She didn't want to split up and she couldn't help but sigh.
"This girl's always willing to sacrifice things so that others could be happy." Kronii thought to herself as she walked over to the couch. Sophia watched Kronii sit down next to her and she didn't expect to be smacked on the head. "You know, for an all-knowing being you are pretty stupid when it comes to this, aren't you?"
"Shut up. I don't want to hear that from anyone." Sophia rested her head on Kronii's lap.
"Well, it's true. I knew what I was getting into when I got into a relationship with you. Besides that, you should be grateful that someone as perfect as I decided to date you."
"Hehe, you're right. I'm extremely lucky I got someone as perfect as you to be with... I... I'll try not to focus too much on my work."
"Do want whatever you want." They both enjoyed the moment of silence before Kronii decided to ask a certain question that she always wanted to ask. "Hey? Is it comfortable to rest your head on my lap like that?"
"Oh, yeah, it is. Plus, I get a great view." Sophia noticed that Kronii must have realized what she was talking about as she raised her arm and her hand formed a fist. "Well... this is going to hurt." Sophia thought to herself before Kronii punched her in the face.
"Make another comment like that and we'll never do this again."
"This is my favourite thing to do, so I'll shut up from now on."
"Good." They both went silent again with Kronii staring at Sophia who has her eyes closed enjoying this moment. There was one thing that caught her eye, Kronii noticed a burn mark just underneath her skirt and she wondered how something like that happened. "How did this burn mark happen?"
"Huh?" Sophia raised her to look at what Kronii was talking about and her eyes began to glow white as the burn mark started to heal. "Oh, that. It was nothing, it might have been caused by a supernova."
"Are you stupid or something?!"
"Again with that!"
"Of course. Who just willingly be next to a supernova?!"
"How do you know that?"
"Knowing you, you probably made it happen."
"It was already dying I found it. I just sped the process up. Besides, save your worry for someone who could die."
"What do you mean by that? You always say that."
"Oh, yeah. I may or may not have had a certain reaper try to kill me only to find out I can't die. Makes sense when I think about it since where I come from it's a lawless place. There's no such thing as existence, non-existence, life, death, space and time. It is like the opposite of this universe where there is some rule or law governing everything here. Enough about me, just don't worry about me, okay?"
Kronii sighed at the weird explanation she always got some kind of weird answer when it was about her. "Fine. I'll drop it."
"Good, now..." Sophia grabbed Kronii's hand which surprised her since it was rather sudden. "Now that I'm free, I can spend time with the lonely time warden."
"I told you I wasn't feeling lonely!"
"Sure, sure. Whatever you say."
"I'm considering splitting up with you."
"Please don't," Sophia said as she wasn't sure if she was joking or not. "But, seriously, I don't know if you forgot or not. If you're ever feeling lonely or something, just call my name and I'll be there. It's how I was with Mumei before."
"I will."
"Good." Sophia smiled at Kronii as they both decided to enjoy each other's company
