Chapter 16

Steve didn't know how long he had stayed sitting on the sofa with both Sam and Pepper each one sitting on his other side as they had a silent conversation behind his back about today's events; all Steve could do was stare at the distance with unseeing eyes as he trying to think over and over again about what took place between him and Winter. All the while thinking if he could have done something wrong or if he was doomed from the start to make mistakes that would cost him dearly.

Angie was on the phone, an annoyed look on her face as she whispered and hissed to the person on the other side, urging whoever had the misfortune to answer her call to hurry up and come or else. So far Steve managed to ignore everyone and their questioning gaze as he was too lost in his thoughts to pay them any attention; want it or not, Steve was still reeling from what happened between him and Winter, and how he managed to lose his control to his Alpha. His Alpha had spent his time ever since marking his mate, purring in pride and possessiveness.

"Steve…" Someone called out, snapping Steve from his daze as he turned to the caller, blinking in surprise when he saw Daniel standing in front of him with a gentle look as he released calming pheromones in the hope of calming the Alpha before he spiraled down. "Wanda told me everything…" Daniel started, his voice low and steady, but Steve managed to detect a hint of worry and uncertainty in his gaze. "It is not your fault… you did what's right… for both you and Winter." Daniel tried to reassure Steve, his words causing the Alpha to twitch and him to grit his teeth in the hope of not saying something that he would regret.

"I took advantage of him; I see nothing right in this…" Steve hissed, trying to calm his pounding heart down, especially when he could feel his Alpha steering when Steve seemed to question his claim… a line of thought that if persisted would cause Steve dearly as his Alpha would probably take control of his body to strength his claim once more.

"From what I heard; it was a different story." Daniel continued, ignoring what Steve said as he took a seat on the sofa as opposed to the Alpha, and it was only then that Steve noticed how the rest of his friends were suspiciously absent from the living room. "It was either you mark and claim him, or let him loose on the town so he would kill and maim every Alpha and Beta until someone can subdue him." That caused Steve to still, a shiver ran down his spine at the lost and fearful look that Daniel tried to hide but was failing to do so. "Wanda told me… Steve… she told me that once the Blue Protocol was activated… Winter would turn into a killing machine that would not stop until either an Alpha bested him… or everyone died and no one was left, and by then he would try and find the next place populated with Alphas and do this once again…" That made Steve close his eyes tightly, cursing harshly as he put his head in his hands, his Alpha was partly intrigued by the strength his mate possibly had, and part furious at the thought of Hydra doing this to his mate.

"So what? Should I pat myself on the back for a job well done? Even if what you said was true, it wouldn't hide the fact that I took advantage of Winter when he wasn't in his right mind to consent!" Steve growled, feeling like he was about to snap and start screaming any moment now, maybe even start a fight if it meant the guilt that was eating him would stop.

"Who says you have taken advantage of your mate?" Daniel suddenly asked, a scowl dominating his face as he looked at Steve, causing Steve to bristle but he held his tongue from saying anymore when he saw the harsh look on Daniel's face. "Have you ever thought that maybe it was the other way around? That maybe, just maybe, Winter knew exactly what he wanted, and what he wanted was you. Did it ever cross your mind that Winter gave you his consent many times because he knew what he wanted?" That rendered Steve speechless, and he couldn't help but look away from Daniel who let out a tired sigh. "You know, I talked with Winter many times, and I can assure you that Winter knew exactly what he wanted when he gave you his consent to mate him." Steve bites his lips at that, not knowing what to say anymore.

"I don't see any consent when the only thing he loved to repeat is 'Initiating The Blue Protocol' this and the 'Blue Protocol' that…" Steve mumbled to himself, his words summoned a tired hum from Daniel who no doubt trying to make sense of what Wanda told him and he managed to glimpse of when he was with Winter.

"Maybe you do not see this as consent, maybe you see that as you taking advantage of what Hydra subjected your mate to for decades… maybe you are right in a way, but don't forget that you could also be wrong." Daniel's words caused Steve to take a shaky breath as he gazed at the Omega, who seemed lost in his thoughts. "Have you ever looked at things from Winter's point of view?" Daniel suddenly asked, causing Steve to still be in his place, gazing at the Omega with a blank look. "What if what you see as being none-consensual, was Winter's way of giving you consent? What did you see as taking advantage was Winter's way of testing you? What you think is abnormal, was normal in Winter's way of thinking?" Daniel stopped, wetting his lips before he continued. "Steve… I think that you have forgotten that Winter had spent many decades under Hydra's thumb… more decades than he was alive with you and any normal person at that… years that can warp people's way of what's normal and abnormal, what's wrong and what's right… we had spent weeks trying to teach Winter what was right and wrong from our stander point of view, and not once did we try to understand his point other than us thinking of the horror he must have suffered at Hydra's clutches and that his response at the moment at nothing but trauma response… maybe that's right and everything until now, was nothing but Winter's way of handling pressure and trauma… maybe we are wrong and Winter knew exactly what he was going through when he chose to make his move… either way, what's done is done, and we need to get to the root of this…" Steve gave a wet laugh at that not knowing if he was going to cry at how miserable he felt, or at the thought of how he never tried to really see what Winter was thinking or feeling… thinking that all the action Winter was taking would vanish when Winter finally free himself from Hydra's clutches…

Wasn't it Winter who told him that Bucky Barnes was dead?

Wasn't it Winter who told him that he killed Bucky Barnes in the end?

Wasn't it Winter who again and again acted so different from his Bucky that he could be another person?

Wasn't it Steve who was blind to the changes?

Wasn't it Steve who deep down refused to accept those changes hoping that Winter would one day heal enough to return to being his Bucky once more?

How desperate can Steve be that he refuses to see what is in front of him?

How stupid was Steve that it was his Alpha who realized all of this and tried to make everything right by going against him time and time again?

Steve doesn't know if he should laugh or cry at the dilemma, he found himself thrust into, not knowing how to act or feel as time passed and Winter continued to defy all his expectations and sending Steve reeling as he tried to make sense of what his life had spiral into… Winter's point of view…

Steve couldn't help feeling afraid of the answers he had been avoiding.

A purr could be heard inside the room as a body snuggled happily into the bed below, happy chirps and content hums left his throat as he nuzzled into the bed trying to leave his scent on the sheets below. Dazed and between the realm of sleep and the waken, Winter let out happy murmurs as he tried to breathe his Alpha's scent that clung to the pillows and the sheets that he was cocooned in.

Alpha, Alpha; Alpha! And mate, mate; mate! Was the only thing running through Winter's mind as he finally woke up enough to realize that he was back in the cabin he shared with his Alpha… in his mate's room and bed… that thought was enough to make Winter all happy and floaty as he snuggled into the sheets, not even being angry or made at the thought of his Alpha not being beside him when he woke up. Too happy to finally have his Alpha's claim and bite to be angry about anything of the like.

A shiver ran down Winter's spine and pleasure spiked up as he remembered how his Alpha took him, claiming him with his bite and knot making it obvious to everyone that Winter was his and his alone. Shaking himself, Winter bit his lips as he tried to banish the arousal from his mind, part of him knowing that this was not the time to go and find his Alpha to satiate his arousal.

But first… first he needed a nest… a good nest… a safe nest… somewhere where no one would dare to come near his nest or they would suffer the consequences… a soft nest… somewhere that's safe for a young pup to sleep in, surrounded by both Winter and Alpha's scent… yes, a nest… Winter purred happily at that, gazing around the place trying to find somewhere to build the perfect nest for both him and his mate and (Hopefully, Winter's heart skipped a beat at that thought) a pup.

From what Winter can see from Bucky Barnes's memories; a nest is safe, soft, and filled with his and Alpha's scent, small, and safe and a happy place where he and Alpha spent their days lazing around and cuddling happily until their scents mixed together and there was no differentiating between it… that more than ever made Winter warm and fuzzy, made him want to purr like a content cat and rub himself all over the bedding and his Alpha until they smell like one.

A nest… safe nest… from what Winter can see and from what he was taught by Him; a safe and guarded nest comes first. A nest that was easy to defend and guard, a nest that was big enough for him and his mate without being too big to attract attention. A nest in a place where no one can see what they were doing or find them if they tried to spy on them… a cozy nest in a dark place where Winter can snuggle happily into his Alpha and pup, away from preying eyes and meddling people or creatures…

Winter's purrs increased as his eyes fell on the walk-in closet on the other side of the room, his pupils widening as realization took over him. Happy with his ability to find a safe place that a sturdy nest would be constructed into… a place where his Alpha's scent already dominated… a place that was perfect for building a nest and defending it from enemies…

With a happy chirp, Winter all but jumped from the bed, B-lining toward the closet with one goal in his mind and one only; but first, Winter needed to assist the place that was going to host his nest for the unforeseeable future.

Opening the closet, Winter let out a happy purr at the sheets and linings he found, not to mention his Alpha's clothes that were just there, begging to be added to the nest's base. Going inside the closet, Winter let out even more happy noises as he inspected the closet from all sides and angles, leaving no stone unturned as he inspected the place to his liking.

A good place for a good nest…

With that Winter returned back to bed only to pull the blanket and the sheets before walking happily with his loot to the closet, humming and chirping as he started constructing the nest that was going to dominate the closet in no time. Blankets, linings, shirts, pants, and everything that held a trace of his mate's scent and was soft, had joined the nest, causing the Omega to sigh happily and nuzzle the fabric before continuing with his job, of making the best nest there was.

It wasn't long before the nest was taking shape inside the closet; filling Winter with happy and fluttery feelings all the while. With every piece of clothes, Winter let out a happy chirp, with every blanket or pillow, a purr left his throat, and when the nest was half done, the Omega couldn't help a happy sigh from leaving his lungs, wondering to himself how his Alpha would react when he sees the nest.

With that thought in mind, Winter narrowed his eyes, wondering if he should call out to his Alpha and show him the final product of his work. Lost in his thoughts, Winter didn't notice the intruder who entered the room until after his name was called.

Whirling around, Winter was greeted by the sight of the Beta woman (Call me Pepper, all my friends and family do that!) coming inside with a tray of food. When their eyes met, Winter felt awkward when the silence between them persisted even after the surprise at him being awake had left Pepper's eyes. When the Beta's eyes fell on his nest, Winter was surprised when he felt only annoyance and not anger and fury as his Omega urged him to fight the intruder; instead, Winter felt nothing but annoyance at the fact that Pepper was here, like an unruly pup that Winter needed to talk to and tell them it was wrong to eye an Omega's nest like that without permission.

"Ah… do you need me to call Steve for you… or bring more blankets?" Pepper suddenly asked, finally snapping out of her daze and lowering her eyes, causing Winter to blink when he noticed his annoyance all but disappear and his chest flutter with pride, his Omega humming at how well-behaved the pup in front of him was (A thought that Winter would need to go back to and analyze, but later). Just in time too! More blankets and his Alpha are what Winter needed for the nest to be completed!

"Blankets and Steve…" Winter said back, nodding his head as he gave Pepper permission to do that, before returning back to his nest, thinking of the best way to build his nest with more blankets and his Alpha's scent. It wasn't long before Winter the sound of the food tray being put on the nightstand before the retreating steps of Pepper reached his ears, informing him that the little Beta had gone to retrieve the promised blankets and his Alpha.

It was only a few more minutes before Winter heard familiar footsteps, causing him to abandon his nest and jump to greet his Alpha, a happy grin on his face when he saw his Alpha coming toward him with the mountain of blankets and pillows in his arms. "Alpha!" Winter chirped happily as he waited for his Alpha to put the blankets down before rushing into his Alpha's arms, holding him tightly, and nuzzling him to his heart's content.

"Hey…" His Alpha said in a gentle voice, not interrupting Winter when he was scenting him, causing the Omega to let a happy hum as he all but melted in his Alpha's arms. "How are you feeling?" Alpha asked, causing Winter to purr happily and nuzzle the Alpha's neck before pulling back a little and tilting his head thinking about the question.

"Safe…" Winter said a small smile crossing over his face as his eyes trailed toward the blankets. "Happy!" Winter continued as he let go of his Alpha and all but dived toward the blankets, letting out a happy hum at the softness greeting him.

"Oh…" Was the small noise that Winter heard coming from his Alpha, but the Omega didn't pay it as much attention as he wanted considering that he was busy trying to sort out the blankets and started a new construction plan for the nest with his loot.

Humming happily, Winter resumed his work, with more vigor, feeling happy and content that his Alpha was present to witness how Winter was a good Omega, building a good nest for both of them and the pups they would hopefully have (A thought that almost made Winter let out a happy and loud chirp). Winter continued with his job, pulling and tugging and tucking clothes and blankets to make the perfect nest, frowning when he saw a sheet out of place or when a part of the nest felt wrong, and nodded his head happily after every correction that felt… right… it wasn't until he was done that a loud purr left his throat as he eyes his nest with a critical look, the feeling of accomplishing something that almost drowned him and Winter almost wanted to go straight away and slide into the nest to sleep or scent marks it; but first, Winter turned toward his mate, wanting to see his Alpha's reaction to their nest, wanting to hear what his Alpha thought about his work.

The soft almost nostalgic look, answered Winter's question, causing the Omega to beam happily as he stood up and went to his Alpha, sitting beside him on the bed and started nuzzling him happily; almost letting his Omega loose, enjoying all the fluffy and high feelings that came after mating. He was almost ecstatic that he finally got to feel all those happy emotions and not just being forced to remember them when Bucky Barnes does, and almost always ended up feeling jealous and excluded, and 'Why did Bucky Barnes always have such nice memories while Winter knew nothing but pain and fear?' so yes, maybe Winter was way too happy to hold everything in.

"Tomorrow…" His Alpha started, his words trailing off before he seemed to regain his composure and give Winter a gentle smile. "Tomorrow a… friend… of mine is coming to visit us, she has… she wanted… I mean… we…" His Alpha trailed off, looking more and more pained, with his face scrunched up like he was forced to swallow something better. "We are going to talk about the Blue Protocol!" His Alpha said in a rushed voice after a few minutes of silence, where he seemed like he was suffering to get the words out.

That more than ever made Winter confused and caused him to blink several times, not knowing why his Alpha seemed to be pained and a few feet away from jumping off the bed and outside of the window into the wildness. "Ok…?" Winter said after a while, his voice dripping with confusion as to why his Alpha looked a step away from crying at this moment; Winter didn't offer to tell his Alpha about the protocol in detail, especially when it seemed to be implied that his friend needed to be here for them to talk about the protocol. Maybe she was a new therapist or a scientist?

Winter didn't give that much thought as he all but dragged his Alpha to the nest, wanting to erase the stress Winter could see on his Alpha's face and scent, and what better way to do that than snuggle into a warm cosey nest filled with their combined scent? Ignoring his Alpha's protests, Winter all but manhandled his Alpha into the nest and laid on top of him to stop him from leaving; purring happily and letting content sighs as he snuggled into his mate's chest, and marking him with his scent…

Winter never felt this safe before…

It was a day later, or maybe two, they don't know anymore, they had stopped caring about the passing of time when they were forced to face a dilemma that they didn't know how to handle. Steve was almost spiraling down for things that were out of his control and things he was made to do; the guilt was too much for him that it took Pepper and Daniel many hours of talk to get through him. The rest of the people felt like they were walking on eggshells, not knowing what move would be the one that would cause either Winter or Steve to snap. The only one who was obvious to this, or more accurately didn't care about the consequences was Winter, who spent his days nesting happily and ignoring anyone but his mate.

Needless to say, when Dottie had finally arrived everyone couldn't help but let relieved sighs, and tried not to wince about how the Alpha woman looked like she was run over by a train as she limbed toward the sofa leaving around the scent of blood and gunpowder in her wake.

"You killed him?" Was the first thing that the Alpha asked, causing everyone to look at each other with nervous looks on their faces; enough answer for the woman who grunted and cursed under her breath, glaring harshly at the ground with clenched fists.

"Dot…" Everyone tensed a little when they heard Steve's voice behind them, making them whirl around to gaze at the Alpha who was looking at them with confusion mixed with surprise at how they seemed to huddle and whisper between them; but Steve didn't comment on that, not when Winter was trailing behind him, his eyes not leaving Dottie as he seemed to study her. The ice in Winter's eyes, caused everyone to shift in their place, especially when they knew what the Omega was capable of.

"Black Widow…" Winter suddenly stated in an emotionless voice, causing Dottie to twitch before giving the Omega a smile that was all teeth, especially when she saw the Omega's fingers twitch as if he was planning to attack and crush her any moment now.

"The First one… the original one, really, before defecting." Dottie stated with a smug smile, leaning happily on the sofa behind her as she studied Winter studying her back before the Omega's pursed his lips and gave her a nod of acknowledgment; seeming to verify her story on the spot, and why wouldn't he when everyone in The Red Room knew of the 'grotesque' ending of the first Black Widow who defected and betrayed her organization. "And you are the Winter Soldier I presume? The one and only…" Dottie hummed, a sly smile playing on her lips, causing Winter's lips to twitch down and for him to give her a sharp look.

"The one and only, before defecting." Retoured Winter, using Dottie's words against her and causing the woman to let out a laugh, ignoring how tense everyone was becoming because of the interaction between the two assassins who were eying each other like a target.

"Why… why don't I prepare some tea? I am sure you have a lot to discuss!" Pepper suddenly called out, causing everyone to blink and gaze at the woman who all but ran into the kitchen to prepare the tea she promised, her action snapping some of the tension and causing everyone to take their seats with strained smiles. By the time Pepper was back with the tea and cookies, everyone managed to calm down enough that they didn't feel suffocated by Winter and Dottie's intense battle stare that continued throughout the silence.

The silence still dominated the room before Steve finally gathered himself enough to clear his throat. "So… the… Blue protocol?" Steve grimaced an action that made Dottie shift as she pursed her lips before letting out a sigh.

"I don't know where to start… other than saying it was similar to 'Project Wolf' in a way, but instead of creating werewolves… they were trying to create Wendigos." Dottie started her words causing everyone's breath to still be in their chest as they gazed at Winter, who was unfazed by the accusative look Dottie sent him. "There is not a lot of information on the protocol itself… only pictures and records of the aftermath of activating the protocol… not very pretty pictures, aren't they? Considering that every person who activated the protocol died mutilated and eaten by you." Dottie bristled as she said those words, giving Winter a side eye, and causing the Omega to blink before giving her an amused grin that was all teeth.

The rest of the people sitting still in their place, horror filling them as they gazed at Winter and then at Steve, wondering if this was what could have happened to their leader if he had lost against the Omega who was once upon a time his mate. "It is not my fault they were weak; they thought they could handle the protocol when they activated it, then they would suffer the consequences of losing," Winter stated in a monotone voice, still maintaining eye contact with Dottie and his sharp smile.

"From what I gathered, the person that was working on the protocol was a general who was interested in collecting strange beasts; a man fascinated by the power shown by creatures and wanting to recreate that using a human subject… that's where the Blue Protocol originated…" Dottie continued, not paying attention to what Winter said, or trying to ignore it as best as she could; no one called her out on this considering that everyone felt the same as her. "At that time, Wendigos were nothing but a myth that's less believable than werewolves, so when Russia finally got their hands on a Wendigo… you can say that everything went into an uproar." That made several people press their lips into a tight line and gaze at Winter, feeling unease by the way the Omega was sitting like a statue with no emotion behind his eyes as he listened to Dottie's words. "The main objective of the protocol was to turn a human into Wendigo; a mix that has the power and endurance of a Wendigo, and the mind of a human but still obedient to its handler… every test subject had failed, either went mad or was devoured by the beast, and that continued until the Winter Soldier's project… that against all expectation successes to a degree… but instead of creating a beast that can be controlled, as soon as the protocol was activated, our dear Winter here would lose himself completely and kill everyone in his way until he we subdue," Dottie said happily, giving the short version of what seemed to be a long essay filled with crazy politics and mad ideas that she would no doubt would explain after she felt the problem was dealt with.

"The main objective was creating strong breeders." Winter suddenly interjected after what seemed like ages had passed, his words causing everyone even Dottie to double back and gaze at the Omega like he lost his mind. "The version you told was written in the files because they didn't want it to be known that General Fyodor was interested in beasts sexually and not for their ability." At that even Dottie looked somewhat sick when the implication of Winter's words finally made sense; even Steve looked a step away from throwing up and going on a hunt to kill someone. "Every other project had failed because they were Alphas, Betas, or Omegas; at that time, they had not realized He was an Omega. Because of that, every Alpha who entered His territory was to be tested, Betas are more of a food than suitors, and Omegas are rivals… the only reason I wasn't killed too was because He told me I wasn't rude." Winter shrugged his words causing everyone to hold their breath at the implication.

"Who… who is He?" Angie asked, even when everyone knew who exactly the 'He' Winter was talking about, but everyone hoped against hope that maybe… just maybe there was a possibility for denial, even if just a small one.

Winter tilted his head in confusion at the question before saying. "He didn't have a name, but He called himself The Ravenstag…" That made everyone look at Steve when they noticed how white he had become at the mention of that title.

"The Ravenstag is the name of their God…" Steve finally said when he regained himself, his words causing everyone to still, part of them not knowing if they should laugh at the absurdity of the situation, or stop this conversation before it goes from worse to something that would cause insanity. "He… was… was he the original owner of the protocol you always talked about?" Steve asked after a while, his voice was soft, but for the room that was so quiet that a needle could be heard if it fell on the ground, it was as loud as shouting the question.

"Yes," Winter answered, a proud smile dominated his face when he turned toward his Alpha, something that wasn't lost on the rest of the people sitting there. "He taught me a lot, about what Omega should do when an Alpha approach them to mate!" Winter chirped, looking too proud of what he said, not knowing how his words were received by everyone.

"And what… should an Omega do when an Alpha approaches Winter?" Daniel asked, part of him was praying hard to every God out there that Winter would ignore him and continue on without answering him; because there was a clear picture of what Winter was taught in his head, and he was afraid of the confirmation.

Winter looked at Daniel in confusion, like he didn't know what to make of his words before he gave the Omega a confused smile saying. "An Omega should always make the scum who dared to think themselves Alphas after they initiate the protocol pay with their lives and flesh." A cup crashed on the floor, and no one dared to move to see the person who dropped it, not when they felt their lungs squeeze every drop of air and leave them breathless. "Only those who had the strength to beat an Omega in a fight and make them submit to have the right to be our mate… shouldn't you know that?" Winter asked then, his words causing Daniel to gulp and give a shaky smile.

"Ah… Werewolves courting rituals are different from Wendigos… we don't… we don't do that… kill Alphas I mean… we allow them to court us, and if… if they met the criteria, we set then we choose them as mate…" Daniel tried to explain, his words breaking in the middle as he tried to phrase and rephrase his words to make sense… even when they wouldn't for the Omega sitting across him.

"I see…" Winter said slowly, nodding his head like he understood, even when his eyes told everyone in the room that he didn't understand what Daniel meant at all; a fact that made many nervous as they looked at one another.

"But… you activated the protocol, yes? Does that mean it can be activated again?" Sam finally spoke, wincing as he said those words, and hoping not to start coughing blood with how stressed and near-insane the situation was… if Sam didn't have any opinion about Hydra before, then he sure as hell has one now, and should he find any agent of them anywhere, he wouldn't hesitate to take a bit out of them, even if they were coerced to serve that organization.

"No, it won't, I have been marked and claimed, that meant the protocol is null." Winter narrowed his eyes at Sam, causing the Beta to shift in his place, but the relieved expression on his face was mirrored by everyone around him; finally, good news in the storm of insanity and bad news that made them nearly spit blood.

"So, you were taught by a Wendigo… doesn't that make you one as well?" Dottie suddenly asked, her words causing whatever relief everyone had felt to evaporate as they turned toward Dottie and then Winter, not knowing what to think or feel about the roll coaster they thrust themselves in.

"I am not. Being a Wendigo implies that you must be born as one, I did not. He told me that Wendigos are born not made." That made Dottie's breath hitched, and a skeptical look crossed her face as she gazed at Winter with suspicion. "Ravenstag on the other hand are made not born." That made Steve and the rest of the pack pale until they resembled a sheet of paper. "But for them to be made they need to be young for it to happen; they need to be children, and even then, for that to happen they needed to be killed first, and have a strong thirst for revenge for the one who killed them before being resurrected and the final stage is them killing and feasting on the one who killed them and those who carried their blood before their rebirth is completed and a Ravenstag is born. If not, the children would return back to the realm of the dead." Winter said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world, and maybe for him it was, after all, wasn't he the one who was trained under a Wendigo?

"The Blue Protocol was nulled in the mid-sixties; something about losing control of the subject, and everyone involved in the protocol being disposed of… why was that?" Dottie asked after a while for silence, maybe fifteen maybe thirty minutes before she finally regained her voice, not knowing what to think or say, but hoping that making sense of the chronic events of what happened to Winter would be able to ground her.

"He went berserk. He found interest in one of the handlers, fancied him even; a scientist who opposed Hydra's thinking, and tried to set Him free… the scientist was discovered, caught, and killed in front of Him… which caused Him to become berserk and attack everyone until he managed to destroy the HQ, and then kill himself. After that General Fyodor tried to initiate the protocol, but he failed and was killed, same as the rest… until Colonel Karpov managed to use the trigger words and then I was put in Cryo and the protocol was nulled." Winter explained, his words caused everyone to look at the ground in deep thought not knowing what to do…

And who could blame them for feeling that way?

So, what do you think?

An update! Yay!

No excuse for why I didn't update other than life and college, with a mix of writer's block.

At least I managed to finish this chapter!

And what a roll coaster it was.
