The Knight of Mahora Academy
Period 36: Day 1 - Making Time
[[[[[[[[Knight]]]]]]]]
"C'mon! Get the music going! Let the party rage! Don't just stand around – let's dance!"
"N-Nii-sa- I-I mean Naru- no! Um, please don't do this!"
"D-Don't be such a stickler! H-Have fun Negi! N-Nagi?" The inebriated blond stumbled and looked at the tall redhead before tilting his head, "When'd you get so big? W-When'd you grow? Did you get older already?" He sighed and hung his head, "T-They grow up so fast."
"N-No, that's not what's happening!" The aged-up Welsh boy quickly denied, looking around in a panic as everyone on the roof was looking in their direction. As his cheeks started to flare with embarrassment and his eyes started swirling, he tried to catch the drunk blond, "P-Please, we can't be here-"
"Aw c'mon, why is everyone just standing around?!" The future Naruto pouted and looked around in disappointment at everyone just staring at them in surprise, "We need to celebrate!" He spun on his feet and laughed before he spotted someone, "You!"
Present Naruto stared at himself in shock and horror as his drunk future self wobbled over with a laugh. Every instinct and thought in his body was screaming that this wasn't real or this wasn't him being an idiot. The professional mindset of doing things in secret and keeping a handle on his actions was screaming in agony at the thought that he'd be so stupid as to get drunk and jeopardize everything by coming here.
Fortunately, it seemed like prior lies were coming in to save the day.
"Is that the Menma-kun I've heard so much about?"
"Wow, he is his twin!"
"I never seen a set of twins before!" Fuuka and Fumika looked devasted by what they said, "Oh relax, it was a joke."
"Y-You could have some very wild dreams looking at a sight like this."
"Hey man!" Future Naruto clapped his past self on the shoulder with a goofy grin, "H-How's it going? I feel – I feel like it's been forever since I last saw you."
Naruto's eye started to involuntarily twitch, "What are you doing here?"
"I came to the party! I-I came to-to have fun – it's important to unwind sometimes and just enjoy yourself. I was telling that to Negi earlier. Ain't that right, Negi?"
The aged-up redhead sweated and shook his head, "I-I think you have the wrong person!"
The drunk time-traveler blinked in confusion before looking down and spotting the nervous and confused Negi looking up at him, "Whoa! You can clone yourself! That's so cool! I'm proud of you, Negi!" His attention then turned to the three girls looking at him with eyes as wide and blank as dinner plates, "Guys! You're here! Oh, I love ya!"
"What?!"
"Asuna!" He stumbled forward and clapped the twin-tailed girl on the shoulders, "Don't worry! Y-You're so much sweeter than you realize! Michi's gonna love ya!"
"W-Wha-"
"Konoka!" He turned to the fortune-teller, "I'm so glad I met you! You - you're one of the nicest people I've ever met! I-It's amazing how sweet and caring you are. Please don't ever change."
"Awww."
"Setsuna!" He turned to the last girl, the ponytailed Hanyō flinching as all attention turned to her, "Thanks for saying you're my friend. I-I was so happy hearing that. You have no idea."
"H-Huh?"
"Okay! Enough of that!" Naruto grabbed his future self and pulled him away, "You should get a move on, bro! Before you get stuck here! And keep being a pain in the ass!"
"C'mon, lighten up." The future Naruto resisted getting pulled away and groaned, "You should have a drink! I-It takes the edge off."
"Yeah! I know! Saw enough of Raka-Ji drinking that I'm not a fan!"
"But I haven't been this relaxed since Amsterdam." He giggled, "H-Hey, remember when we had that mission to scout out illegal smuggling? And we rushed into the building but it was a recreational den. Hehehehe, I never had a contact high before the-"
Naruto fist lashed out and struck his future self, toppling him over as he went limp from the impact. Naruto grabbed his collar and pulled him up, "Poor thing! Too tired! We need to get him to a bed! Nagi! Get over here and take him! NOW!"
"Y-You got it!" The aged-up Negi quickly rushed over and took the groaning blond's arm over his shoulder. Once he was secure he nodded and started walking away, "T-Thanks for your help! It was lovely to meet all of you! I'll be going now! Bye!"
The blond and redhead evacuated the roof and the door closed behind them. The party music continued to pump out while everyone had been reduced to silence after the sudden appearance. They all looked at their assistant teacher.
Naruto laughed awkwardly, "He's so weird and socially inept! H-Hehe, family! You can't choose! If you could, I-I'd ask for a replacement!"
[[[[[[[[Knight]]]]]]]]
"You okay?"
"Mmmm."
"A-Are you still thinking about the party crashing?"
"Mmmm."
"Yeah, that wasn't even second-hand embarrassment. It like first-and-a-half embarrassment-"
"Gah!" Naruto yanked his hands away from his face with a growl, "Okay, that's it! I hope you guys are ready to see someone change the future because I refuse to let what we saw happen come to be!"
Negi looked conflicted, "Nii-San, I don't think that's possible. If you've already seen and interacted with a future version of yourself, then to avoid a paradox-"
"Negi shut up with your logic and turn on the stupid machine."
"Okay."
The teens quickly huddled up around the little Mage as he grabbed the Cassiopeia and activated it. Everyone but Negi, Setsuna, and Chamo, watched in awe as an orb of light and energy quickly surrounded them. And then watched in disbelief as all of existence started to fade away and time rapidly turned back. The unbelievable, unfathomable reversal of time seemed to occur around them at lightning-fast speeds-
Before it was just noon again and everything was fine.
"Okay, we should probably get moving." Negi pocketed the watch and started making his way down the stairs, "I've decided that I was going to use this run to visit all the exhibits and everyone's interests."
"I think I should go and attend to my patrol rounds." Setsuna dutifully said, "I had enough free time last run and I should see my job through."
"Aniki is visitin' the girls and Setsuna-neechan is doin' her rounds!" Chamo turned to the others, "What about you…guys?"
Naruto, Konoka, and Asuna were still standing stiffly in place and staring ahead with blank wide eyes.
"Oh, I think they're still reeling from time-traveling for the first time."
"Then we should probably give them a minute."
Asuna tried to take a step forward but stumbled over and desperately clung to the railing as she fell.
"More than a minute probably."
[[[[[[[[Knight]]]]]]]]
"There we go! We're all set!"
After finally getting used to the fact they traveled through time, the kids were off to enjoy another run of the day. But as Konoka quickly pointed out, they couldn't keep walking around in the same clothes, otherwise, they might run into their past selves and cause unnecessary hijinks.
So with a quick stop off at their dorms and some costume places, they were ready for their next round through the festival.
Setsuna pulled her scarf up around her mouth, with her hair let down and some kitty ears placed atop her head, "My rounds across the festival should finish sometime in the afternoon. I'll try and find you all later."
Naruto, sporting some fox ears atop his head, looked down at Negi, "Should we try and make it to the tournament this time around?"
The little redhead nodded in agreement after having switched out of his date clothes, "That sounds good! I'll meet you there, Nii-San."
Konoka giggled with a painted nose and whiskers across her cheeks, "What about you, Asuna?"
The twin-tailed girl had cat ears as well as a tail to help her accessorize. She tilted her head, "I don't know. I don't have rounds to take and I finished showing my exhibit earlier. I don't have anything to do."
"Well, why don't you and Naruto-kun walk around a little?"
"Why?"
"Because you two should have a little fun! Asuna, you were busy with Art Club your first time around, right? And Naruto-kun gave Sayo-chan control of his body for most of the first day. Plus he got lost because he doesn't know his way around the festival and you do!" She pulled them together and pushed them ahead, "Go and have fun, you two!"
The two couldn't find much of a reason to argue against their friend's wishes. Asuna sighed and grabbed Naruto's arm before pulling him, "C'mon, Whiskers, let's get going."
"Aww, we're having a second date? Michi might get jealous at this rate."
"Shut up."
[[[[[[[[Knight]]]]]]]]
"So do you have a plan for your date with Michi?"
"A-A plan?"
"Yeah," Naruto said between licks of his ice cream as he and Asuna walked around the festival, watching the shows on the river and all the grand parades going through the streets, "I mean it's fun getting to walk around with you, seeing the sights and having snacks, but is that all you want while you're walking around with Michi? Nothing else?"
A light blush dusted Asuna's cheeks as she hid her mouth in her cone, "I-I don't know. It took us going out on that stupid practice date just to figure out how to act and be when on a date. I try thinking about what to do on the next one with Takahata-sensei a-and my mind just goes blank."
"Well, let's keep walking and you can check the places out. You can make sure to note anywhere you'd like to go and some places Michi likes to go too."
"Shouldn't I just pick places Takahata-sensei might like?" She asked meekly, "I mean I'm asking him to come out with me on this date so I should be taking where he wants to go into consideration, right?"
Naruto blew a raspberry, "Are you kidding? This is Michi we're talking about. I bet he'd enjoy just getting to walk around and talk with you."
She started blushing at the thought, "Y-You think? You think he wouldn't be bored walking around with some kid?"
"We talked about this already, remember? You are not some kid to him."
"Y-Yeah, I know. But still, I want to make sure it's the best date we could have. And that even if I'm not just some kid to him, I-I still don't want to be a kid in his eyes." The twin-tailed girl's face turned atomic, "I've been waiting a long time for this date. I thought it'd never even happen."
"Well, I'm glad it's finally come. And I'm sure I'm not the only one."
Asuna groaned and hung her head, "You aren't. Negi keeps congratulating me. Setsuna-San seems so impressed by me scoring a date. And Konoka never stops teasing me. Asking me what I'll wear and where I'll confess and-"
"If you'll smooch?" Naruto asked jokingly as Asuna's blush deepened, "You might need some practice. Hey, maybe if you ask Negi he'll plant another one on you. Hehehe - Asuna?"
The twin-tailed girl's face went beet red as she remembered the kiss her whiskered friend had given her while under the influence of the World Tree's magic. The feel of his lips locking over hers with such heat that it traveled through her whole body. How she'd nearly gone breathless while he was smooching her.
With a huff, Asuna stomped off with a pout. Naruto stood still as her ice cream cone dropped off his head. With everyone looking in their direction in surprise, he turned with an awkward smile, "H-Hehe, she didn't like my joke. But hey, it's a hot day so I still kinda won!"
[[[[[[[[Knight]]]]]]]]
"Wanna throw some balls like last time?" Naruto suggested to his peeved companion after they'd been walking through the festival in relative silence. Asuna hadn't said much and just went on ahead with a faint blush on her face after the joke he made about kissing Negi for practice.
The twin-tailed girl was still a little heated after being reminded of the kiss from Naruto she had tried to forget. The worst part was that he had no idea and it was all her fault so she couldn't blame him – other than planting an ice cream in his face for suggesting she kiss Negi as practice. Just the thought of it made her shudder and gag.
But the idea of just playing a game did sound tempting and would probably help her calm down. She started to look around for something they could do together…
"Oh!" Asuna's face brightened up as she pointed towards an attraction to the side, "What about that?"
The pair made their way over to an attraction involving a large white tarp plastered over a large canvas and with buckets of water balloons filled with paint. Splotches of paint of every color stained the ground along the canvas, and several other tarps that had already been painted from top to bottom were on display for everyone to see.
"This is an event held by a college art club. It's an activity where people can come and paint a giant canvas together!" The excitement in the twin-tailed girl's voice bled through with each word, "When I was younger during my first Mahora Festival, I watched them put this up and people come to create big art pieces! It was so pretty I couldn't look away!" With boundless enthusiasm, she looked like she could bounce on her feet with joy. But after she spared a look at her blond companion and saw his amused smile, a blush spread over her cheeks and she looked aside, "I was touched by how much people loved to paint back then."
"I get it."
"Asuna-chan!" One of the college art club members recognized the young artist and waved to her, "It's nice of you to come by! Shouldn't you have a piece to be exhibiting right now?"
"Y-Yeah, but no worries. I've got a plan in mind of how to take care of it."
The older girl snickered, "Some time management so you could have a date?"
"I-It's not a date!"
"Then who is this boy?"
"H-He's no one!"
"Because he looks like your date-"
"Two ponchos please!"
The pair were given their clear ponchos as Asuna quickly pulled hers on and Naruto looked surprised by how excited Asuna was. As he pulled the poncho over his head, it was time to see Asuna eagerly look through the bucket of balloons for the first color she wanted. When her eyes sparkled with joy, he knew she had found what she was looking for as she turned and spiked the ballon into the blank tarp.
Naruto watched with intrigue as she splattered the balloons over the tarp and covered it in a collage of different colors at different angles. The way she got so engrossed and focused on her task made him think she had forgotten about everything else. Pulling the poncho on with a smile, he grabbed a balloon and came to her side, "Alright, do we need this one?"
"Let me see." Asuna looked at his balloon and tilted her head. She looked at the tarp and raised her thumb to get a better look, "Okay, you have to throw it there. See where I'm pointing?"
"Yep."
"Hit it there at an angle so it splatters right. Think you can handle it?"
"Watch me."
With some initial guidance from Asuna, the pair started to brighten their tarp in a glorious splash of different colors. With some quick encouragement from the twin-tailed girl, Naruto started trusting his gut and throwing the paint balloons where he thought they'd look best. The duo's work drew a few people passing by and some started to wait for their turn to paint like them.
"I knew you were part of the Art Club, but it hasn't hit me until just now." Naruto tossed another balloon, "You're pretty good at painting, aren't you?"
"Not really," Asuna bashfully said while tossing her last balloon up in the air, "I wouldn't say I'm good. I've just always liked drawing and expression through painting. I always found it calming."
Naruto grinned, "Now don't take this the wrong way, but you never seemed like the type."
"Yeah, I get that. And I don't know why either." Asuna shrugged, "But I love it. No getting around that."
"Maybe bring that up with Michi? I'm sure he's a guy who has refined tastes and likes art. You could probably surprise him with your knowledge."
"You think?" Asuna daydreamed about what it would be like to take Takahata out on a date while exploring all the art exhibits the festival had to offer. The orange-haired girl blushed and tossed the last ballon in her happy delusion.
Missing the corner of the tarp by a few inches and sending the balloon flying through the air and into an innocent passerby.
"AAAHHHHHHH!"
"Oops."
"W-WHAT THE - YOU DAMN KIDS!"
"We should run."
"Yep!"
Naruto and Asuna quickly shirked off their ponchos and made a run for it. As they ran, they chuckled and laughed at the ridiculousness of their situation.
"Hmm…" The college student smiled watching them leave before she turned and looked at their shared piece on the tarp, "Those two work well together."
[[[[[[[[Knight]]]]]]]]
Asuna's face burned with a mortified blush when she saw them appear in front of her, "W-What are you two doing here? I thought you had other things to do!"
Konoka and Naruto smiled while checking out the Art Club's exhibit and seeing Asuna's painting for themselves, "Oh, we found some time. You don't have to worry about that." Konoka smiled while Asuna shifted around on her feet uncomfortably, "We wouldn't pass up the chance to see your work for ourselves."
"I-It's nothing important." The bell-wearing girl whispered with her blush spreading to her ears while her friends inspected her painting. Konoka was one thing, probably just doing it to support and tease her at the same time, but the way Naruto was looking at her work made her feel anxious, "W-Well, Whiskers, what's up? I didn't take you for the art lover."
"I'm not. It's only recently I could understand how much someone can appreciate art and what it means to them."
"Really? Who?"
"Oh, I'm sure you'll meet her someday." Naruto said cheekily before looking at her picture of the World Tree and the landscape of Mahora around it, "But now that I have a little more understanding…I can tell how much work you put into this, Asuna. It's impressive."
Asuna's face burned even brighter and she looked aside, "O-Okay. Thanks, I guess."
"Aw, Asuna," Konoka cooed and poked her best friend's arm, "No need to be so quiet. If you're grateful, you have to be more direct with your response."
The bell-wearing girl frowned and looked aside with a scrunched nose before sighing and looking Naruto in the eye, "Thank you for saying that, Whiskers." She sincerely said while her face was blushing, "It means a lot that you see that."
He smiled warmly, "No problem."
"Thanks for letting us see your painting, Asuna. I'm sure Takahata-sensei will adore seeing it too!" Konoka teased with a giddy giggle before pulling Naruto's arm, "We'll see ya later!"
"J-Just get out of here!"
Naruto and Konoka made their way out while waving goodbye to their friend, "Well I wasn't expecting this from you, Naruto-kun. Why the sudden interest in seeing Asuna's club?"
"Just never realized how much she cared about it until I talked with her earlier. Worth the time."
"That just goes to show you, Naruto-kun," Konoka said professionally while wagging her finger at the taller boy's nose, "Never underestimate a girl and how interesting they can be. You talk with any of us and we'd have quite a few secrets and stories to share."
"Heh, I'll keep that in mind."
"Oh, you're going to go to the tournament later, right? How about you meet up with Secchan in a bit and go around with her?"
"You think she'd be up for that? Setsuna doesn't strike me as someone who'd take time to relax unless she was ordered to. I'd think after she's done with her rounds she'd want to stick by your side until-"
"So I'll just tell Secchan she can take a break. We all know she deserves it for how hard she works."
"I doubt she'd even relax if it was an order." Naruto paused before tilting his head in thought, "Although, if you're the one asking for it, I think she'd comply."
"Good. And make sure you talk to her too, alright?" Konoka said firmly, "I'm sure she's still thinking hard about the…'things' that happened during the last loop."
"Things? What things?"
"Never mind!" Konoka instantly deflected, "Hey, do wanna do something first?"
"I'm still full on the snacks I've been having. But if you want, we can still eat. I think my wallet is a little..." He patted his back pocket before pulling out two tickets, "Oh."
"Are those the tickets from Dance Club you got while you were sick?" The young fortuneteller looked at the two tickets before her eyes began to sparkle, "Naruto-kun~!"
He quickly shook his head, "N-No! No, I'm not a very good dancer."
Her eyes continued to shine.
"If you want you can take the tickets yourself and-"
Her eyes peered into his soul.
…
"Uh, dammit."
[[[[[[[[Knight]]]]]]]]
"Hmm, such a lively place." Tsuruko noted as she and Eishun walked together, "It feels good to be able to walk around a place like this and know people are in a time of peace and tranquility."
"I'm happy to know my daughter is safe in a place like this." Eishun agreed while looking around, "After the incident in Kyoto, I've been rather on edge by the fact that even though she would have bodyguards and friends around, she was knowledgeable about the other side of the world she'd never known about until then. That can change how some people view things around them. She seems alright though; happy to be here with her friends. Although if that's just how she wants me to see-"
"Pfft." Eishun paused and looked at Tsuruko. The expert swordswoman was looking in another direction and covering her mouth so a giddy laugh didn't come out. Eishun raised an eyebrow and his family member giggled before pointing so he could follow.
There was a large square surrounded by a velvet rope that people could only get into with a ticket. A stage propped up with music and lights as the club members cheered everyone on. Other people stopped by and watched the dancing students, family, and friends with levity.
The two Shinmei-Ryū practitioners immediately noticed the giddily laughing Konoka dancing and encouraging the hesitant but smiling Naruto. Konoka was far more energetic and ready, bouncing on her feet with a beautiful smile as she took the whiskered boy's hands and tried to get him moving. Naruto was reserved and nervous, but as he started getting pulled along by his roommate he started getting more animated as well.
Eishun and Tsuruko watched them from the sidelines, content to see the two children let loose and smile with regular people.
"When he was younger, I thought it would be okay to bring Naruto-kun over and introduce him to the girls," Eishun said, a warm smile on his face as he watched the rest of the Dance Club cheer for the blond to dance like he did before. Naruto started performing some of the martial arts and fighting techniques he'd learned over the years while Konoka clapped and cheered for him, "But time passed by so quickly. Naruto-kun started settling down in the other world and Konoka came here to learn. I thought this opportunity would never come…but here it is."
Tsuruko watched the boy finish his routine as the crowd cheered. Konoka clapped and rushed in to hug his side. As they cheered and laughed, she smiled as well.
"I'm glad to see he's come so far since our talk in the forest."
[[[[[[[[Knight]]]]]]]]
When Konoka called her and told her she needed to see her as soon as she was available, Setsuna rushed over as quickly as she could. She expected some kind of emergency or urgent request that needed her help so she didn't let anything stop her from coming over.
She didn't expect when she arrived that Konoka would push her toward Naruto and then tell her she'd see them later. Setsuna was left standing with Naruto, eyes wide and blank-faced as she tried to comprehend what just happened. All she got was a comforting pat on the shoulder and some words of consolation from Naruto as he tried to explain.
Setsuna was confused as to why he would say that, but then things started to click in her mind and she blushed like crazy. Her face was flushed and she stuttered as she started rapidly firing words and excuses up at her blond partner. But as she looked at him in her flustered panic she remembered the kiss they shared while in his suggested state.
Naruto was left walking alongside his Ministra as her face settled into a permanent pink hue and her eyes shifted to the side. As they walked along he forced out a chuckle, "Uh, sorry about all this. Um, are you hungry? We can eat if you want."
"N-No, I'm fine." Setsuna muttered, "I had a meal with Negi-sensei during the last loop and a few snacks while we were at the party." She fixed her untied hair, "If you want something then feel free-"
"Oh no, with Sayo-chan using me for a binge, the party, and all the snacking with Asuna, I'm stuffed. And probably at least three pounds fatter." He smacked his belly to emphasize his joke. However, when he failed to get even a snicker out of her, he deflated with his shoulders dipping, "Hey, Setsuna, is something on your mind?"
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Well, Konoka said that there was something on your mind that we could talk about. Any idea what that could be?"
Setsuna blushed, "O-Ojou-sama said that?! B-But why?! What could I possibly-"
A thought crossed her mind and Setsuna went silent before looking down. Her hand settled over the strap of her kendo bag before she spoke, "Actually, there is something that's been on my mind."
"What is it?"
"Are…are we friends?"
As Naruto's eyes widened in surprise at Setsuna's inquiry, the young bodyguard blushed but kept firm in her questioning. She couldn't help but think back to some of the things she had heard the other versions of Naruto she had met say to her. About how relieved he was to know she was his friend and why she had reverted to what she called him.
It was strange…but maybe asking him now would give her some clarity.
"I mean yeah, of course you're my friend." He immediately answered, "Why would you even ask that?"
"It's something I heard from your - u-um, drunk self earlier."
Naruto grimaced before groaning and scratching his head, "You shouldn't listen to what that idiot said. He was drunk and making a fool-"
"Sensei," Setsuna quickly turned to him and stressed the point with a frown, Please be honest."
He sighed and rolled his neck, "It's not that I don't think of you like a friend. It's just…I understand that this connection might be more…circumstantial and necessary."
"What do you mean?"
"I've been in this line of work for a long time. Ever since I was a kid. And I've gotten to work with a lot of amazing people. But I've never stuck around them long enough to be friends. I mean I have Michi and Raka-Ji, and I guess Kyūbi too - don't tell him I said that - but I don't know many people my age. And that started to change after I came here." He said fondly, "I met Negi. We met Kota. You and Asuna and Konoka. And everyone else. It's been a lot of fun."
"But I also know that once this job ends, I might not see you guys as much. Or at all." He pulled out his Pactio card with Setsuna, "And I know you agreed to stay as my Ministra even though we partnered in a stressful situation, but I guess I'm worried that when the time comes for our partnership to end…I'll lose another friend. And I get if you don't see me as-"
"I do!" Setsuna quickly stepped in front of him and looked up at him with an earnest gaze, "I-I don't have many friends either. Before our trip to Kyoto, the only friend I ever had was Ojou-sama, and I thought that was a friendship I was unworthy of until I got to meet all of you. All the people I talk and interact with now…it's because you all showed me how nice it is to make new friends." She looked up at him, "You are my friend, Naruto-sensei."
"Then can you just call me by my name?"
"Huh?"
"I mean you keep adding the Sensei to my name, and we both know I'm unqualified for that compared to Negi and Michi. It seems silly."
"B-But it's a sign of respect!" Setsuna stammered, her face reigniting with a flush, "It would be rude to call you by your name when you are acting as a teacher! A-And I was raised to always show respect to my peers and the people around me!"
"You call Captain Trigger Happy by her name."
"Mana is different! On the jobs we go on communication is key! She's incredibly stubborn and hard to work with, so clear and concise communication can help us in a pinch!"
"Well, what about a nickname?"
"T-That's even worse! I-I've never been close to someone enough to use a nickname!"
"Seriously? What about Konoka?"
"Kono-chan is different - I MEAN OJOU-SAMA!" Setsuna shrieked, drawing the attention of people around them before she ducked her head and whispered, "I-I don't think I can."
"Can you try?" He shrugged, "Please?"
…
A small whine slipped out and she struggled with a pinched expression before whispering, "N-Naruto."
He grinned, "Thank you, Setsuna."
"I-I'm not sure if I can get used to that."
"It's alright, take your time." A buzz from his pocket made him pull out his phone, "Oh, it's time for the tournament. I should probably get going."
"Oh, let me come with you." Setsuna slowly recovered from her embarrassment, "I can at least see you and Negi-sensei off before your fight."
"Thanks, Setsuna. It's gonna be pretty cool to do this because we're not gonna use any magic until we fight each other."
"Why did you decide that?"
"Oh, well it all started with me wanting to shove it in Eva's smug face-"
[[[[[[[[Knight]]]]]]]]
"Yo, Naru-nii!"
"Nii-San, over here!"
"Hey guys!" Naruto waved as he and Setsuna made their way over to Negi and a Kotarou as they stood just outside of the tournament venue, "Kept you waiting?"
"Nah, we just got here. Setsuna-neechan, you gonna join in too?"
"No, I'm just here to wish you luck."
"Then all that leaves is Master to-"
"What was that, Boya?" They all turned to the sound of the haughty voice making itself known. They saw Eva approach in a frilly white dress with Chachazero accompanying her, "If you thought I of all people was going to be late, you're sadly mistaken."
"N-No, I didn't want you to be late, Master! I-I was just worried!"
"Worry about yourself." Eva proudly strode forward, walking past the rest of them with certainty and confidence in her stride, "Now let me show you the power of-"
Mahora Martial Arts Club Knock-Out Tournament Change of Venue Notice
"WHAT?!" Eva shrieked when she saw the giant notice plastered on the wall of the building, "What do you mean the venue changed?! Changed to where?!"
Negi stepped up and fixed his glasses, "Um, looks like it's quite a bit away from here. If we want to get there in time, we need to hurry."
"R-Running?"
"Ha!" Chachazero scoffed, "Physical labor? Oh, sucks for you, Master!"
"Shut up you little troll doll or I'll use your legs as firewood!"
"You can have them! You'll need them after your legs give out after ten feet!"
"SHUT UP!"
[[[[[[[[Knight]]]]]]]]
Done
Poor Eva, keep that proud and haughty exterior all you want. We all topple over after ten feet of consecutive walking. It's a fact!
