Chapter One:

September 1st, 2018

Lily Luna Potter grumbled as her parents drove home after seeing off her older brothers leaving for Hogwarts on the Hogwarts Express. Every year since James had started, she had begged to go. Initially, she had Albus Severus to keep her company, but now, he too was off to Hogwarts, starting his second year. She was now all alone, stuck at home and waiting one long year until she could finally experience the magical world her brothers spoke of so often.

She personally thought herself to be a more than capable witch, especially when she had accidentally set the kitchen on fire. But at least she could get up to her own mischief at home, now that she was all alone.

As they arrived at their quaint home in the West Country, a stocky built, raven haired man whisked her out of the car to the house.

"Daddy, why do I have to wait another year?"

"Princess, every witch and wizard has to wait until they get their letter before they can go to Hogwarts. Even your mummy had to."

Lily pouted.

Ginny gave a sympathetic smile. "You know I was sad I couldn't join your daddy and Uncle Ron for their first year, but when the time is right, I know you'll have fun. Anyways, you should go and play now, daddy and I will call you when it's time for dinner."

Lily giggled. "Alright, Daddy."

Harry released Lily and she ran up the stairs to play with her toys. Harry then turned towards Ginny as they walked into the kitchen. "I hope she doesn't get up to mischief once she enters Hogwarts, I don't think our owl could handle any more howlers."

Ginny chuckled. "I think the owl could handle a few more, I am sure she will be a fiery terror for all of Hogwarts." as she remembered Errol carrying all of Molly's howlers to Fred and George.

Lily, meanwhile, was upstairs up to no good. She had crept into her parents' room and was now rummaging through the drawers, thinking they had hidden one of her brothers' more troublesome items in there. What she found was far beyond any of that.

A shiny golden necklace, with this pretty little glass, full of glistening sands. It looked so pretty to Lily, and she just had to take it. So she did. She crept back to her room, smiling with glee, she now had such a pretty necklace, and she couldn't wait to show her cousins. She focused on the sands, how fun they were to shake around.

From downstairs, her mother and father called her down for dinner, and as she was rushed towards the door, the necklace in her hands crashed into the wall, and broke, sending the sands everywhere. Lily looked in horror as the world around her began to spin and fade into darkness.

July 31st, 1992

Harry trudged up the stairs. He missed Hogwarts terribly, yet nobody had sent him any letters, and now he was left confined to his room, while Uncle Vernon hosted a business dinner with the Masons.

He creeped into his room, gingerly closing the door, then turning to lie down upon the bed. He suppressed his shock as he saw a girl on the floor, asleep. This strange girl, had red hair, and looked very similar to Ron's younger sister, Ginny. Although, Harry had only seen her twice, both times at King's Cross Station. He felt guilty for trying to awaken the girl from her slumber, for she looked so peaceful. He felt connected to this girl somehow, as though he had this urge to protect her from the world, and especially the Dursleys.

He carried her into his bed, for he felt that she needed this more than he did at this moment. It was strange to him, why he wanted to protect this girl. This strange, unfamiliar girl. He hoped she was like him, also magical, maybe she could get him answers as to why his friends were not sending him letters, but he tucked the girl in, hoping that the Dursleys were so engrossed in their business deal that they would not check on Harry at this time.

As he left the girl in the bed, he turned towards the foot of the bed, where he saw this small creature, with eyes the size of tennis balls, standing there. Today was turning out to be an interesting day for Harry, yet a perilous one too. He had to remain practically silent while these 'freakish' events occurred around him. Cautiously, he asked. "Hello.. who are you?"

The creature replied timidly, "Dobby, sir. Just Dobby. Dobby the House Elf."

Harry carefully observed him before he replied, "I see, but now is not the greatest time to have a house elf in my room. You see-"

Dobby hung hishead.

"Not that I'm not pleased to meet you," said Harry quickly, "but, er, is there any

particular reason you're here? As you can see, I am quite occupied at the moment. Do you have anything to do with this girl on my bed?"

"Oh, no, sir," said Dobby earnestly. "But Dobby has come to tell you, sir… it is

difficult, sir… Dobby wonders where to begin…"

"Sit down," said Harry politely, pointing at the table.

To his horror, the elf burst into tears—very noisy tears. Ones that caused Lily Luna to awaken from her slumber.

"S-sit down!" Dobby wailed. "Never… never ever…"

Lily was now fully awake, scared. She murmured, "Daddy, where are we?"

Harry turned his head back towards the girl, hissing at Dobby to be quiet. He did not know what came over his normally timid self but he knew that, above all else, this girl was more important to him than the prattling of some strange elf.

"I don't know where your dad is but right now you're in my room, my name is Harry Potter." he whispered.

Lily looked at Harry incredulously but remained stunned, nodding silently. She sat on the bed, looking at the boy. She thought he looked like Albus, her older brother, yet he was wearing her father's old glasses from his time at Hogwarts. She wondered what had happened to the necklace, and where was she? She thought this to be an elaborate prank. After all, how could Albus of all people forget who their father was, and why would he claim to be him. These thoughts plagued her as she watched the boy in front of her and the house elf in a sort of confrontation.

Harry was glaring at Dobby, feeling protective over the girl who Dobby had just woken up with his noise, and undoubtedly had aroused the Dursley's suspicions.

Harry then approached Dobby and cornered him against the wall, with Dobby, timidly looking up towards him like a large and very ugly doll.

"Are you after this girl? Has Voldemort sent you after her?" said Harry, his voice was dangerously low.

Dobby shook his head. He remained still in fear, wondering why Harry Potter was being so protective over this girl. Dobby knew of the legendary stories of Harry Potter, of how he had defeated the Dark Lord as a baby, and again at the age of 11, of how he was loyal to his friends, above all else. And this girl on the bed, was more than a friend, not in the way his master and mistress were connected but certainly loyal to her, above all else.

Dobby quietly replied, "No sir, Dobby does not know where the girl comes from, and Dobby has not been sent by You-Know-Who. Dobby comes with a warning.

Harry slowly eased away, now less suspicious of the elf, although remaining protective of the girl. "So what is the warning then?"

Dobby spoke timidly, "Dobby has come to protect Harry Potter, to warn him, even if he does have to shut his ears in the oven door later… Harry Potter must not go back to

Hogwarts. It is not safe."

Harry raised an eyebrow, and Lily jumped out of bed.

"What do you mean it's not safe?" They both asked at the same time.

Harry put himself in front of Lily. Before continuing.

"But I've got to go back—term starts on September first. It's all that's keeping me going. You don't know what it's like here. I don't belong here. I belong in your world—at Hogwarts."

"No, no, no," squeaked Dobby, shaking his head so hard his ears flapped."Harry Potter must stay where he is safe. He is too great, too good, to lose. If Harry Potter goes back to Hogwarts, he will be in mortal danger."

"My daddy can fight off anything, and he'll do anything to keep my brothers safe, they're at Hogwarts too." Lily chimed.

"There is a plot, Harry Potter. A plot to make most terrible things happen at

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year," whispered Dobby, suddenly trembling all over. "Dobby has known it for months, sir. Harry Potter must not put himself in peril. He is too important, sir!"

Lily then growled angrily, "My daddy is Harry Potter, and I know he will stop any plot, especially if it's at Hogwarts."

Harry turned to Lily. Shocked by this revelation more than anything. In the confusion, Dobby clicked his fingers, and quickly apparated away.
