Prologue
Samhain 1981
Grimmauld Place (Number 12) had never been a happy place for Lord Regulus Arcturus Black and his brother, Sirius Orion Black.
The only thing, or actually person, that helped them while they stayed within that horrid house happened to be each other for they had married each other when they were seventeen and eighteen (Regulus was the younger one between them). They had always known there was something different about them, but then again, their family motto happened to be: Toujours Pur, which happened to be translated to "Always Pure". They were seemed deep within incest, and often married cousins together. Sometimes they ended up with children that had deformities and the children were sent into a disappointment room, so that society would not see the children that were imperfect. So, it made sense that the both of them had fallen in love with each other very young and never had any other lover than each other.
The family was also drenched in Dark Magic along with Blood Magic.
They always celebrated each Holiday within the Pagan world, or the Wiccan/Wixen World.
Tonight happened to be Samhain, the night that they would communicate with the dead because the veil between the two realms was thin enough for them to do so. Lord Regulus and Sirius had decided to celebrate the Holiday at seven o'clock that night, since seven was a magical number. They had already celebrated it not that long ago, and Sirius left, claiming that he needed to check on Lily and James Potter in order to see if they were alright.
Lord Regulus was in the drawing room of their house, everything around him not worth paying attention except for the magical painting that was hanging above the fireplace.
It was the wedding day he had with Sirius, and they were holding each other so intimately that sometimes the lord would blush and look away from them as they would give amused looks at those who looked at them. They were just as in love with each other even now, falling more for each other every day that came.
It took some time for them to clean up the house once they had received the house, determined to get rid of anything that would remind them of their childhood too much. The first being the portrait of dear old mum, Walburga, and Lord Regulus was more than pleased when he was able to destroy it since even the family magic did not care for her. They got rid of any of the cursed items within the house that reminded them of their trauma.
Sirius had been even more surprised when their dear cousin, who was the right hand of the dark wizard named Lord Voldemort (by his followers, Death Eaters) and He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named by wizards and witches, came forward and demanded they take care of a beautiful locket. Lord Regulus had taken it from Bellatrix Lestrange and destroyed it without his brother knowing, having sensed something disturbing about it. A scream came from it when he destroyed it and he made sure to create a false locket before he had destroyed it so Bellatrix would not think anything of it.
He was pacing back and forth, his silver eyes sending a beautiful glow from the lineaments that came from the crackling fireplace. His black hair was a slightly curled aristocratic style that fell a few inches past his ears and brushed against the top of his nape. He had long eyelashes that fluttered against his high cheekbones. He was very tall and slim, the perfect English gentleman who looked starved but really, he was blessed with his figure.
He was dressed in a black silk shirt, matching black trousers and dress shoes. A matching robe was draped over his shoulders with a Sirius silver medallion clipped together.
Every single finger of his was adorned by rings, his wedding ring being his most precious ring.
His Lordship ring was the second precious thing, but nothing could ever compare to the stunning gifts he would receive from his husband/brother. He was as stunning and bright as the constellation he was named after, and he was certain that he would have thought the same thing about Lord Regulus and his name.
His ears perked up when he heard the front door opening, his silver eyes flickering towards the door.
He hadn't expected Sirius to come home so early, James had always been like a brother to him (though his real brother didn't see the appeasement of the other pureblood wizard), and Lily had soon become a sister to the both of them. Lord Regulus couldn't help it, the red-haired girl was so easily to be attached to and loved.
Sirius came into the doorway of the parlor room, his clothes being the opposite of his brother's.
He had on a band-shirt of some Muggle (non-magical) rock band. Guns and Roses?
It was an odd name, but it suited his brother perfectly, along with his signature leather jacket, skintight leather pants and combat boots. His features were very similar to his brother's, they almost looked like clones even though his figure was more muscular. His hair was long and was in a man bun even though a few pieces had fallen out of their containment. There were combat boots that finished the look, and even though Lord Regulus did not see the appeal for the look he had to admit his brother was quite delicious to look at with it. His wand was attached to his wand holster that was underneath his left arm sleeve of his leather jacket.
Yet it was not the clothes that made his brother/husband gasp in shock, it was the soot which covered his milk white skin. That and the pink blanket that was swaddling their goddaughter. She had been like their own daughter, but alas they were not able to become pregnant and have children.
Even if one of them became a woman for a short time period in order to become pregnant the child would either miscarry or be stillborn. So, the only option was to adopt a baby or child and replace the child's biological blood with their own blood through blood adoption. Maybe one day that would change but for now only blood adoption was the way.
"My star, what's wrong? What's happened to Adrianna? Where are Lily and James?" the younger brother demanded in French, a language they often spoke to each other more than English. Their parents had taught them French for it was a language that was always in their family. It was intimate for the both of them, sometimes it was more intimate than it should be.
"Sit, my starlight. What I tell you, you should be sitting for. Please hold Adrianna."
Lord Regulus nodded his head as he went over to his trademark chair, although sometimes he would sit in his brother's lap at night while they would be drinking tea and whisky (the tea was for the younger and the whisky was for Sirius).
He had the little red-haired fifteen-month-old girl in his lap and he gasped once again when he saw the spider-like lightning bolt scar on her forehead that was bleeding some. Her emerald eyes, the same eyes as her mother's, were peering up at him with an openness and vulnerability that should never be upon her face.
He hushed her and sang a French lullaby under his breath, while he listened to his brother tell him that He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named had discovered the Potters' Cottage because the Secret Keeper had given away their location. The Fidelius Charm had been broken down, no longer able to be used. It was Peter Pettigrew and even though Sirius had wanted to go after him he knew his husband/brother and Adrianna needed him more.
The dark wizard had killed James and then went upstairs, killing Lily as she tried to protect Adrianna from him. That side of the cottage was destroyed, and Sirius had rushed to the house when he had an odd feeling in his gut. He had found Adrianna and brought her back here, knowing they would take care of Adrianna since Lily and James would have wanted them to.
"I can't believe he believed the prophecy, just because she was a little girl. The Longbottom's are lucky, they had Neville and not a girl. We know the prophecy was just something that mentally ill woman came up with so she could get a job at Hogwarts," Sirius bit out, his eyes darkening incredibly, which resulted in Adrianna crying.
"Sirius Orion Black! Look at what you just did! You know she's always been sensitive towards emotions around her," Lord Regulus hissed back at his brother, Sirius slumped as he knew that he was right.
"I was going to tell you later…not too long from now that Lily said when she would become pregnant again, she would give the child to us so we could Blood Adopt them," Lord Regulus said after a while of them watching Adrianna fall to sleep again.
"You…don't mean what I think you mean, do?"
"They would have wanted anything to happen for her to be safe again. I think that she'll be safer as our child, Siri. Please, think about it. It doesn't have to be now."
Sirius sighed but nodded.
A month later, after they had finalized the paperwork to adopt Adrianna, Sirius and Lord Regulus did the Blood Adoption Ritual. Adrianna was now Adrianna Potter-Black.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I know I've posted and deleted two past Regulus/Sirius fanfictions because I felt self-conscious and didn't feel as though I would get any positive reviews. The last time I posted a storyline like this someone made a negative review that made me feel bad to write for this ship. I'm keeping this one up. I also plan on writing a stand-alone story, which is a prequel to this where it's Regulus/Sirius growing up and their years at Hogwarts once I'm finished with this story and a few others.
as always: Harry Potter doesn't belong to me.
