"Hm~" Runaan moaned sleepily as he rolled over in bed, reaching over to cuddle more into his personal heated pillow that was also his husband.

He frowned to himself when he didn't find said husband, blindly feeling around the matrass before finally cracking an eye open to see that he was indeed alone.

At first he figured that Ethari had simply gotten up for a glass of water or a trip to the bathroom, but after a few minutes of waiting he figured something else was up.

As tired as he was, he was more curious and even a tad worried so he decided to get up too, peeking out of the window to look at the moon and decuced it was still late ( or early?) at night.

Then he noticed a faint flow coming from below and while he couldn't exactly see the source, he had a feeling he knew what it was.

"Not again..." he groaned, quickly putting on a robe over his pyama pants and bare torso before rushing out of his cosy home and down the stairs where he reached the forge where sure enough a light was shining from the window.

Carefully opening the door he indeed found Ethari, sitting in his workbench in just his own loose pyajama pants as he worked on some kind of trinket, surrounded by tools.

He didn't even notice him.

"You know," Runaan called out, leaning against the doorpost with his arms crossed, "As much as I enjoy looking at you without a shirt on, illuminated by the the candlelight, I'd love it even more to actually lay against that skin in bed."

He allowed a small smirk to crawl on his lips at seeing his husband jump in place.

"Ah! What the- Oh! Runaan! Hi!" Ethari grinned sheepishly at the assassin who's smirk grew just a bit.

"Hello, dear." he said, pushing himself from the door and making his way to the other elf.

"Did you hear what I just said? I'd really like to be in bed with you, yet somehow we're both down here." he lifted an eyebrow.

At least Ethari had the decency to look at least a little ashamed.

"Right. Sorry for sneaking out." he mumbled before looking up excitedly, "But I just got this great hit on inspiration and-"

"There it is." Runaan rolled his eyes, having already expected the explenation.

Ethari's mind was an endless pool of creativity and new ideas which suited him perfectly, being talented enough in his many skills to bring those ideas to live in the form of the most beautiful weapons, jewelry and more.

The downside however was that Ethari rarely found himself capable of waiting maybe a few hours and often decided he needed to create whatever was on his mind right that moment, having resulted in many previous occasions where he was working instead of sleeping or taking care of other things.

"I know what you're gonna say, but hear me out! This is gonna be really good!" Ethari cried, holding up his hands as if to keep Runaan in place.

"I'm sure it will be lovely like everything you make and you can tell me all about it tomorrow morning." Runaan denied him the chance to get himself even more worked up from his project and instead made his own intentions clear.

He resisted the urge to sigh when instead of coming along Ethari shook his head, looking worried.

"No, I need to do this now! What if I don't remember everything I want to do now by tomorrow?!" he cried.

"Isn't that what the notebook is for?" Runaan returned.

To try and combat Ethari's spontanous trips to the forge they kept a notebook next to the bed with the intention of Ethari writing his sudden ideas down as best as he could to try and use those notes later and it worked, but only three out of ten times.

"But I won't have time do do it anytime during the day! I'm drowning in orders and need every bit of daylight for those!" Ethari gave another excuse, one Runaan was for the most part actually true, but he wasn't giving in.

"All the more reason you need to sleep now so you have enough energy tomorrow." he answered again.

"I can make it through the day just fine!" Ethari just yelled back, crossing his arms and leaning back.

This time Runaan couldn't stop the sigh that escaped him.

"And people call me stubborn." he huffed.

"You are!" "Not the point!"

"How about this? If you don't sleep now, you're gonna be tired tomorrow and even if you can stay awake, it will definately affect your work. You wouldn't want to disappoint your customers, right?" he then said.

He knew it was a low blow, knowing how much Ethari valued his customers and hated delivering anything other than absolute perfection to them.

Seeing how his husband wavered at that he decided to finally use his ultimate weapon.

"Thari, please come to bed? I just want to hold you while I can before I might be send away again!" he wasn't the greatest at puppy-eyes but he apparantly had a pout that made his husband normally give him whatever he wanted.

He felt a sense of victory when Ethari sighed heavily and slumped in place.

"Alright, I'll come to bed with you..." he groaned, getting up and walking out the door, grabbing Runaan's hand and dragging along, ignoring his smug grin.

A few moments later they were snuggled in bed, all nice and cozy, Runaan's head on Ethari's chest.

"It's true, you know. You're normally the stubborn one." Ethari teased, running head fingers through his husband's hair, chuckling when the other let out a happy pur like a cat.

"As stubborn as you can be as well, I'll always win and get what I want, darling." Runaan mumbled and only a moment later both elves fell into a peaceful slumber.
