Summary: Light and Darkness. Ying and Yang. Two individuals who were reborn into a new world. One stands for light and the other for darkness. What happens when those two meet one another? Would they form an alliance, or would they fight each other? No one knows the answer. One thing is clear: Nature always has a way to balance things out.
"Speech."
'Think.'
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or The Eminence in Shadow.
Life always plays interesting games with people's lives. How many times had a person thought to themselves, "It can't get any worse," and in the end something even worse happened.
The strangest things always happen in life. Whether it was within a year or a lifetime. Many strange miracles or mysteries accumulated, and many people could not explain how the result had come about.
Why did lightning strike the ground even though there were high-rise buildings all around the area? Many things were unclear to people, even though they had already discovered and were able to explain many things.
Naruto had already seen a lot in his life. About people who can run up walls, walk on water, unleash fire from their mouths and much more. In the world he came from, it wasn't uncommon to shatter a rock with a punch.
He had fought many battles as a shinobi, ultimately even fighting in a great war that determined the fate of the world. But everyone knew the story of Naruto Uzumaki, the 7th Hokage of Konohagakure. He was the hero of Konoha because, like his father, he achieved the decisive victory in the war and thus brought the village to fame.
At 30 years old, he was the strongest shinobi alive. Only his best friend, Sasuke Uchiha could hold a candle to him. He was an excellent shinobi and had achieved everything he wanted. He had stopped his best friend from falling into darkness, he had become Hokage, he had been recognized by the village, and other things. He just couldn't win over his true love. But that was fine with him because as Hokage he had no time for a woman.
He had promised himself one thing when he accepted the Hokage's hat from Kakashi Hatake at the age of 24: he wouldn't make the same mistake and just sit in the office. He would continue to train and have another job. He was also able to accomplish this with his Shadow Clones. The Hokage's job was very time consuming, but he had also managed to learn another thing.
He didn't even know why he learned this thing. He had learned blacksmithing from an old friend from his time as a fresh genin. It was time-consuming and he was sometimes away from the village for 5 days at a time. Of course, his Shadow Clones took care of everything and since there were no big fights and there was peace between the 5 major nations, he had time to leave the village for a few days.
But in the winter of his 30th year, something happened that no one would have expected. While Naruto was sitting at his desk doing his normal work, he suddenly sensed something in the distance. Before he could do anything, Sasuke showed up in his office. It was immediately clear that a great danger was approaching Konoha.
As it later turned out, 2 new Ōtsutsuki had come to earth. So that the village wouldn't get into trouble, Naruto and Sasuke had left the village with clear instructions on situations like this. Only the two of them were able to deal with Ōtsutsuki members. The two were, after all, partly Ōtsutsuki because they were the reincarnations of Indra and Ashura. The two were the strongest shinobi in the world and if these two couldn't win then no one could.
The fight was very long and hard, but together Naruto and Sasuke were able to win. But everything had its price. Naruto had to use a dangerous technique during his fight, using his own chakra as fuel. At the age of 30, he had just as many chakra as Kurama. To the normal shinobi, Naruto was a god in human form. He was the fourth to be called the God of Shinobi, after Hiruzen, Hashirama and Hagoromo.
At the end of the fight, Naruto's body lay on the ground and no longer showed any signs of life. Kurama was released at the same moment and unfortunately Sasuke could no longer do anything for his best friend. The two were separated during the fight and each had to take on an Ōtsutsuki themselves. He himself had fought Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki and Naruto had fought Isshiki Ōtsutsuki.
Sasuke had also lost his right eye in the fight against Momoshiki and so he only had his Rinnegan eye. He no longer had his normal Sharingan and was completely at the end of his strength.
By the time Sasuke got to Naruto, he was already dead. Kurama had tried to sacrifice himself, but Naruto wouldn't allow it. He had told him that he would not allow anyone to sacrifice themselves for him again. Since Neji sacrificed himself for him in the war, he hadn't allowed something like that to happen again.
After Naruto died, he had no regrets and smiled. He was ready to see his family again on the other side, knowing that the village was safe, and the others were safe and sound.
When Naruto opened his eyes, he never expected to see his mother and his father again. Of course, he had expected to see both his parents again, but not in the way he did.
He quickly understood that he was a baby again. He couldn't speak, his body didn't obey him as it should, and both of his parents did typical things with a baby. Within a few weeks he realized that he had somehow been reincarnated into an unknown world. It wasn't his old world, and neither of his parents seemed to remember anything. The two were called Minato and Kushina Uzumaki, they looked alike and had the same personalities, but they didn't seem to remember anything.
Was it possible that he was here in another dimension? He had studied a lot of fūinjutsu in his old life after the war and space/time theory too. After all, he wanted to master his father's famous Flying Raijin. The talk of alternative dimensions often came up.
He had also noticed straight away that there was no chakra in this world. There was something different and since the people of this world spoke the same language, he was able to find out a lot. While he was still a baby and his parents and maids looked after him, magic was often mentioned.
Even as a baby, he could sense the magic and even concentrate easily. It felt exactly like chakra and with all the conversations of knights using magic he could quickly notice similarities.
Physical Enhancement was the most basic form of magic in the world. With varying degrees of ability, magic allows the human body to go beyond its normal limits and achieve amazing feats. Another basic use of Magic in the new world was Equipment enhancement. All types of equipment exhibit conductivity with magic. Knights from the new world used their Magic to strengthen their swordsmanship.
It quickly became clear to him that there were no shinobi or ninja in this world. Everyone used a sword to fight. He could tell all this from all the conversations he listened to as a baby.
But as a baby there wasn't much more to it than that and he would have to wait until he got older. However, even as a baby he did some things when he was alone. He had managed to stand upright, even though normally it wouldn't have been possible. This was all only possible because he had the experiences from his old life.
His muscles of course didn't have the muscle memory of his old body, but his brain knew it and so he was able to quickly get his body to produce the motoric skills that normally came much later.
"Naruto!" his mother shouted. A few years had now passed, and Naruto was now 10 years old. He enjoyed living with both his parents. Even if they weren't his real parents, he still saw them as mother and father. Both of them were really just like his real parents with the only exception that they knew nothing of the old world.
The Uzumaki family was a baron family that lived in the provinces and thus Naruto was even a noble in his current life. He had learned a lot, trained a lot and accomplished a lot in his first 10 years. He planned to live a peaceful life with his parents this time. He had experienced a lot in his old life and had enough struggles. He had decided to take advantage of this new opportunity and enjoy his life without fighting too much.
Nevertheless, he had also trained his body, his technique and other things. At first, he had only thought that magic, like chakra, was a kind of energy that could be used to strengthen your body and partly also a weapon. But he was wrong.
Just like chakra, magic had other ways to be used. Just like with chakra, control over magic was very important so that nothing was wasted. Not only could he use it to become faster, smash a rock with one swing of his sword, or achieve other superhuman results.
He had already experimented with what magic was capable of. He had thought that magic could somehow heal others. This was one of the things he could never do in his old world because of his massive chakra reserves. But in this world, he wanted to be able to heal others too. He had experimented a lot and, as in his old world, controlling how precisely you could use your magic was very important. He could now heal small wounds. Until now he could only carry out experiments on himself or on injured animals
But that was enough for him for the moment. In his first 10 years in the new world, he had accomplished more than he actually intended to in such a short time. At least he wasn't forced to train because an organization of S-rank shinobi were after him. He could enjoy his life and train at a pace he wanted.
"I'm coming!" Naruto shouted. He put on his orange shirt and brown pants. The clothing looked like it was from the Middle Ages with the shirt and brown trousers. He also had a brown belt around his pants to keep them from slipping off his body. For his 10 years, Naruto's body was in good condition. He had started to strengthen his body at an early age and that is why he had hardly any fat on his body. He had always done his personal training in secret because he didn't want to be asked by either of his parents how he knew and could do certain things.
He put on his brown boots and then went out of his room. In his room there was a large double bed with a large wardrobe, a desk with a wooden chair in front of it and a chest of drawers. On his wall were some picks where his swords hung.
In this world it was normal to wield swords. They were different swords than in Naruto's old world. In his old world it was mostly katana that were used; apart from special swords such as the swords of the 7 swordsmen of the hidden mist.
In the new world, the normal design of swords was a 1-handed broadsword. He hadn't done much with swords in his old world because he relied more on taijutsu and ninjutsu than kenjutsu. Kenjutsu was always Sasuke's domain and not Naruto's. But through his father and mother, Naruto learned everything he needed about sword fighting in this world.
Of course, he also practiced his martial arts, as they were called in this world. Of course, he already had a big advantage because his experience from the many fights was still there. How to move correctly in a fight, how to get the most out of the situation with minimal movement and much more.
But that wasn't so important because his mother's divine food was waiting for him. He left his room and ran down the stairs that led to the large dining room. As the son of a baron family, life was pleasant. Especially because there were also a few maids and even guards who took care of everything. This meant he could truly enjoy life to the fullest.
In addition, his family lived in the provinces and was therefore not directly in the capital. At least there was still enough nature in the province, which is what Naruto liked most. He was always in nature during his secret training.
As he walked down the stairs, he only had to take a few steps before a maid opened the door on the right for him, giving him access to the dining room. The dining room was like any other in a noble family. An elongated room with a long table in the middle and lots of chairs around it.
The table was made of a special steel and shone in a white hue as the sun shined through the windows. It was exactly the same with the chairs. They were all made of a special steel, which was painted white, and black cushions were also incorporated into the seats . They were very comfortable chairs, almost like Naruto's old leather chair in the Hokage's office.
"Hello dad, mom," Naruto said with a smile.
Minato Uzumaki smiled at his 10-year-old son. "Hello son, I hope you slept well." said the head of the Uzumaki. Minato Uzumaki was a renowned swordsman in Midgar. He had even won a special tournament in the past and so he had gotten a lot of fame.
"Hello Naruto, come sit down," Kushina Uzumaki said with a smile. As always, her face radiated nothing but warmth.
Minato sat in front of the head and Kushina to the left. Naruto sat down to his father's right and immediately afterwards the food was served. While the Uzumaki family was eating, his father brought up a topic.
"Naruto, would you like to continue your training as usual or now learn the advanced techniques?" Minato asked.
Naruto chewed something briefly before swallowing the food. He looked his father in the eyes and said, "I want to continue training the basics." Naruto said. He was already good at the basics when it came to sword fighting. But he didn't want to rush anything and preferred to master the basics as much as possible. In his old life he had neglected the basics for a long time and because of that he had problems for a long time. This time he did it right, no matter what it was about.
He practiced his basics like a possessed man. No matter what it was about. Posture, strength, speed, endurance, magic power, control over magic, and other things. He focused on that and nothing else in his training. Of course, in certain things he was a little further along than the basics. For example, in his martial arts, where he still had all the knowledge from his old life. At 30 years old, even Naruto was one of the best Taijutsu users there ever was. He could even keep up with gods like the Ōtsutsuki in taijutsu.
"All right, then today we'll continue as usual and train the basics." Minato said with a smile. He thought it was okay that his son wanted to master the basics as best he could. The basics were basics for a reason. Everything was built on the basics, no matter what it was about.
Kushina smiled at the interaction between her son and her husband. She was truly blessed to have such a husband and son. When she was younger, she had lost her entire family by the time she met Minato. He had saved her from some robbers and from then on, she fell in love with him. It was a wonderful time from there on. He was always at her side, like her, he no longer had parents and with great effort the two of them had achieved noble rank together. Over time, both became recognized sword masters.
Kushina herself was known as the Crimson Princess of Ruin. She always had a certain temper, and it sometimes came through her red color, when she concentrated and used her magic, she was given that name. Whenever her temper ran away with her and the red color of her magic surrounded her, she always wreaked havoc. No opponent got away when she was in that state.
A few hours later, Naruto had finished his training with his father and was about to leave his family's mansion. After training with his father, he would always get ready to go out into nature to do his own much harder training.
He had his sword on his left side in a brown sheath, which was attached to his brown belt. The Uzumaki's domain was right next to the Kagenō's domain. Naruto knew the youngest son of the Kagenō family. The boy was the same age as Naruto, and you could say that the two were friends. The name of the boy was Cid Kagenō.
Naruto didn't know exactly why, but he always had a certain feeling about Cid, which he already had about Itachi back then. As if Cid was hiding something so he wouldn't endanger others. But that wasn't so important, after all the two didn't meet often.
As he walked through the forest to get to his usual spot, he saw a red light in the distance. He remembered that in that direction there was a small, abandoned village with 10 houses. The small, abandoned village was no longer used by anyone and was actually just left to its fate.
He narrowed his eyes 'This is no normal fire. Are there any robbers there?' Naruto thought to himself. It was normal in this world to see robbers every now and then, especially in the provinces. It wasn't as common in the capital, but out here in the provinces it wasn't as rare as you might think. Robbers repeatedly attacked traveling merchants and stole their goods.
Naruto ran off, still completely fit. Even in this world he had had great endurance from birth. Only this time it wasn't because of Kurama, but because of his origins. His mother had also been born with greater endurance than others. As an Uzumaki, Naruto had advantages over others even in this world.
He concentrated a bit of magic into his legs and became so fast that to normal people without training, it looked like he was disappearing in a flickering motion.
After just 2 minutes he arrived at his destination. He appeared behind a tree at the edge of the forest and looked at the deserted village. As he already thought, some robbers were there and had attacked traders. There was a big fire because one of the traders' carriages was burning.
The abandoned village had 5 houses in a straight line and exactly the same in parallel. The abandoned houses had white walls, although moss could now be seen on the walls and some cracks. The roofs of the houses were red. Most of the windows were no longer there and the wooden doors were hardly there anymore.
Naruto saw a total of 10 robbers who were currently laughing, drinking and talking. They were clearly drinking alcohol; Naruto could smell it. Through his intensive training so far, his senses had sharpened, and he could see, hear, smell, taste and feel better than other people. He had even gained a kind of sixth sense from his intense training with his body. Through various training methods, he had often pushed his body to the brink where his survival instincts would actually take over. Although he could also use magic, he really wanted to be able to completely control his body even in extreme situations.
He could understand a few words of what others were saying, even from a great distance. 'It looked like the traders were on their way to the capital.' Naruto thought to himself. He jumped onto a branch from the tree and crouched down. The sun was already setting and so many shadows could be seen in the abandoned village where the robbers were currently. 5 of them sat around a small campfire and the others searched through the boxes and goods of the dead traders.
Naruto wouldn't approach this problem like a normal knight. He was still a shinobi at heart and although he didn't fight and act like a real shinobi for most of his old life, he learned it from Kakashi and Yamato after the events with the moon and Hinata's kidnapping. He was probably the strongest shinobi back then, but he couldn't yet do what made a real shinobi: espionage, infiltration and other things.
Out of nowhere, Naruto held a kunai in his hand that he had made himself. He was really glad that he still learned to blacksmith in his old life. He met a blacksmith through his father, where he went every now and then and forged a few things. He had often used the forge while the owner was away and made the kunai there.
Naruto could simply drop down from the tree and fight the robbers openly, but that wasn't the way he was taught by his teachers. Before he became Hokage, he was on many S-rank missions where he had to get used to this method and from then on, he only fought like that in most cases. Of course, only during his time as a jonin before he became Hokage. As Hokage, he no longer had to fight like that because he was just in the village or meeting with other Kage to discuss peace.
He didn't have many kunai with him, but the kunai were more than enough for the 10 robbers. He threw a kunai and then held 2 more in his hand. He threw them too and then disappeared from his position in a flickering movement.
"This will be a feast!" said a robber.
"What you can bet on! We even managed to get our hands on a famous art painting! In the capital it will cost a lot of money!" replied another robber. Both of them were checking the goods that the traders had with them.
Neither of them noticed the 2 deadly weapons that were flying through the air and were about to pierce their bodies. 2 seconds later, before another robber could say anything, the two robbers who had been talking to each other got big eyes.
They both felt something sharp enter their neck and sever the carotid artery. They both screamed in pain as a kunai was lodged in each robber's throat. All the robbers became aware of the screaming and immediately stood up and ran to their comrades.
Both robbers lost a lot of blood and fell to the ground, both hands trying to stop the blood from escaping their necks. A lot of blood sprayed around through the fatal wound on the neck.
Before the 5 robbers at the campfire had even taken 5 steps, Naruto appeared with his sword drawn behind one of the 3 remaining robbers who were checking the goods. His sword was surrounded by a golden aura before he thrust it forward. The sword entered the robber's back and appeared from the chest. The robber's heart was destroyed and before anyone knew it, Naruto had already pulled his sword out of the robber's body and charged towards the next one. He held another kunai in his other hand and threw it in the direction of the other robber.
The merchants' wares were around the corner of a house and the campfire was not in sight. By the time the 5 robbers ran around the corner from the campfire, it was all over. All 5 robbers were on the ground, lifeless and no longer moving.
"What the hell?" asked a robber with a dagger in his hand.
"Ask your Creator," said an ice-cold voice behind him and before he could react, the tip of a sword came out of his chest and his eyes lost the light of life. The sword was pulled out of the body and now the remaining 4 robbers could recognize the attacker.
"A child?!" a robber asked in a horrified voice. How could one child wipe out all his comrades? There weren't many children around with golden hair. It was immediately clear who was standing in front of the four robbers.
The only son of the Uzumaki family, Naruto Uzumaki. He didn't have the reputation of a genius like the eldest daughter of the Kagenō family, but he was said to still have talent and achieve everything through hard work.
"You little bastard!" said another robber with a gun in his hand. The firearms in this world were still quite primitive and the weapon the robber was holding could only fire one shot at a time before the weapon had to be reloaded.
He aimed at Naruto and pulled the trigger. A loud bang was heard before a small metal projectile came out of the small gun and raced through the air. Naruto just stood there, unimpressed and not moving.
The robbers thought that was it. But they were wrong there. At the last moment, Naruto's right arm holding his sword twitched and swung it. His sword briefly flashed gold and then all you could see was a golden line in the air before it reappeared in a high position.
The robbers couldn't believe their eyes when the bullet split into two parts in front of Naruto's head and missed him. Naruto's ice blue eyes looked into the eyes of the robber with the gun and took a step forward. When his foot hit the ground, Naruto was no longer in sight. The robber's eyes widened when shouting could suddenly be heard behind his back. He looked behind him and could only see all his comrades falling to the ground, with cuts all over their bodies. Naruto stood behind the falling robbers and looked the last robber in the eyes.
"Was that it?" Naruto asked in a deep voice. Far too deep for a child and so threatening that it made the robber shudder. His entire body began to shake, and he could no longer breathe. It was as if an invisible force was choking him off. Naruto made a motion with his hand and immediately afterwards his last kunai flew through the air and hit the last robber in the chest, causing him to fall to the ground.
Naruto looked around and as he did, his vision returned to normal. He had already murdered enough people in his old life and that's why the sight of blood no longer bothered him. A lot became clear to him during the war, when he killed many of his opponents and many of his comrades also died.
Naruto swung his sword once, causing the fresh blood to fly from the blade and hit the ground. Naruto put it back in its sheath and looked around. He would have to make sure that there wasn't a surviving trader or robber nearby.
But before he could look properly, he heard a strange noise from a cage that was in an overturned carriage. He went to the cage, which was covered by a blanket. He pulled the blanket off the cage and raised both his eyebrows.
In the cage was a kind of lump of flesh that had a deformed mouth and blue eyes. 'Demon possession ?' Naruto thought to himself. He had already heard about where some female humans, elves or beastkin were afflicted with a strange disease that caused their bodies to begin to rot away until they died.
He never thought he would find a victim of this disease in the province. Apparently, the disease was already in its final stage. This pile of rotting flesh was no longer recognizable as human.
Something red-black flashed briefly and then disappeared again around the lump of flesh. Naruto raised both eyes as he felt it. 'That was…' Naruto narrowed his eyes and stuck a hand into the cage, right in front of the pile of rotting flesh. He concentrated on his magic and in response the pile of flesh spread out and destroyed the cage, bathing both of them in a golden light.
'I could use this situation to train magic. I can do some experiments that I could never do on myself or on living animals.' Naruto thought to himself. This could be the unique opportunity he needed to really test out what magic was still capable of. He could discover new things that were not previously known.
He brought the rotting pile of meat into one of the houses and since it wasn't night yet, he continued doing experiments for another 3 hours. He didn't learn anything new that day, but that wasn't important. He now had a chance to really test and train magic with this pile of flesh. This would allow him to improve his control and handling, which was important in this world.
For a few weeks, Naruto repeatedly went to the abandoned village and visited the pile of rotting flesh and trained his magic. Over time, his control over his magic became better and he was able to use it more precisely than before. From then on, the abandoned village also became his new training location because no one ever stopped by.
Unfortunately, he hadn't found a new way to use magic yet, but the skills he already had improved. In particular, he became much better at healing magic within the weeks he conducted experiments. He was also able to find out a lot about his own body. With magic it was even possible to influence one's own body functions, such as heartbeat, breathing or other things. In this sense, magic was even more versatile than chakra. So not only could he use magic to strengthen his body, make it faster or something similar, he could even control how fast his heart beat or something similar and thus make his body even stronger.
One day Naruto was in the house like usual, holding his hand in front of him and concentrating. As so often before, the room was bathed in a golden light, but this time something special had happened.
Naruto had realized that this illness was a case of magic overload. He had been trying to get the magic under control for the last few weeks and at this moment he had finally done it.
The rotting pile of flesh began to glow with a golden light, stronger than usual, and changed. Naruto raised both his eyebrows as this pile of rotting flesh transformed into a girl. The girl briefly floated in the air with her eyes closed and then fell gently to the ground. Naruto caught her and held her in his arms.
'The girl completely transformed back even though her body was so rotten. I guess I've finally done it and better than I thought.' Naruto thought to himself. He had achieved a lot with his experiments in the field of magic, where his magic power and control had skyrocketed.
The girl was breathing at a calm and controlled pace, indicating she was fine. Naruto wore a cloak today because it was a little cooler than usual. He carefully laid the girl on the ground and took off his cloak. He placed the cloak over her body to cover her completely naked body.
'She should be my age.' Naruto thought to himself. He also discovered that the girl was an elf with shoulder-length silver hair. He could imagine that she had blue eyes and was otherwise about half a head shorter than Naruto. He was a bit taller for his age and was half a head taller than Cid.
Her body twitched slightly, and she began to show signs of waking up. Naruto's blue eyes watched her as she slowly woke up and sat up on something, supporting herself on both arms. She seemed confused and a little disoriented, but her vision quickly became clear.
Naruto was curious to see how this meeting would turn out.
