A/N: Hello everyone, I'm BearfootTruck! I've been writing fanfic since 2012, with a break between 2013-2016. I'm primarily active in the Sonic and My Hero Academia fandoms, and to a certain extent the Naruto fandom, and am starting to get into the Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir fandom thanks to my girlfriend KagamiPINKAgreste. This is my first time writing a Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid fic, and it certainly won't be the last. I hope everyone here enjoys this fic.
Also, when it comes to writing anime fics set in Japan, I try to do as much research as I possibly can on Japanese culture, but if I get anything wrong, please let me know and I'll do my best to fix it.
A sunny, decently warm day had graced the city of Koshigaya, and Miss Mieko Kobayashi was enjoying this Saturday afternoon by having supper courtesy of Tohru, as was Kanna Kamui. Kobayashi smiled as the savory crunchiness of the oyako katsudon – that is, Japanese-style fried chicken over rice – graced her taste buds.
"Thanks again for supper, Tohru," said Kobayashi.
Tohru smiled. "You're welcome, Miss Kobayashi!"
"I gotta be honest: even if you are super weird at times, that's one of the things I like about you the most: that you're an excellent cook."
"I aim to please!"
"Miss Kobayashi, are you doing anything special tonight?" asked Kanna.
Kobayashi shrugged. "Not that I have planned. Why do you ask, Kanna?"
"No reason. I was just curious." Kanna ate some more rice.
Kobayashi smiled. "Rest assured, if anything does come up, I promise I'll make it a point to spend more time with you tomorrow."
"Oh, thank you!"
After supper, Kobayashi crashed on her couch and was about to play Super Mario Odyssey when she heard her cell phone ring, so she answered it:
"Hello?"
"Hey, Kobayashi!"
"Oh, hey there, Takiya. How are you?"
"Not too bad! How 'bout you?"
"I'm all right. What's on your mind?"
"Listen, a couple of the guys and I are going out to Mutsumi's tonight, and I was wondering if you'd like to come along."
"Sure. What time do you wanna see me at?"
"Be there by 8, OK?"
"Will do. See you then."
"OK, see ya!"
Makoto Takiya hung up.
In the meantime, Kobayashi got ready to go to Mutsumi's Disco by putting on a red Halston dress plus matching pumps, and she put on some makeup. Usually, Kobayashi didn't go for makeup, and when she did, she put on just enough to look fresh. Then, she heard knocking on the bathroom door.
"Come in."
Tohru entered.
"Hey, Miss Kobayashi, why are you dressing up?"
"Takiya invited me to go to a disco tonight."
"What's a disco?"
"It's a building where people go to dance to pre-recorded music and maybe have something to drink."
Tohru clapped her hands once. "That sounds like fun! May I come along?"
"I would, but who's gonna babysit Kanna?"
Tohru gave a thumbs up. "Don't worry! I've got somebody in mind!"
Just then, somebody knocked on the door.
"Coming!"
Tohru went to answer the door. When she opened it, it was none other than…
"Hey girl!"
"Oh, hey there, Lucoa!" said Tohru. "You're just in time!"
Quetzalcoatl – better known as Lucoa – smiled. "Oh? What's going on?"
"Miss Kobayashi and I are going out to a disco tonight! You wanna come along?"
Lucoa dropped her jaw and opened her rarely-exposed eyes. "Oh, that sounds like so much fun! Heck yeah!"
"Wait, Tohru…" Kobayashi had emerged from the bathroom. "I thought Lucoa was gonna be the babysitter."
Tohru raised her hand. "Relax, Miss Kobayashi! I've got somebody in mind!"
"Well…OK. I'll let Lucoa come along as well."
"Grand!" said Lucoa. "Just lemme get changed first, OK?"
Tohru and Lucoa went to dress up for the night. When they re-emerged, Tohru was wearing a strapless aqua green bodycon dress, white opera gloves with aqua green cuffs and aqua green knee-high high-heel boots, and she'd let her hair down. As for Lucoa, she was wearing a low-cut, midriff-revealing black T-shirt with the Salsoul Records logo on the chest and the slogan "DANCE YOUR ASS OFF" underneath, red vintage-style running shorts with white stripes and red high-heel shoes.
"Well, you two certainly look ready to go out," said Kobayashi.
"Thank you!" said Tohru and Lucoa.
After meeting with Miyu Sasakibe – the babysitter, who just so happened to live in the same building as Kobayashi – Kobayashi, Tohru and Lucoa headed off to Mutsumi's. Opened in 1975, it was one of the few clubs of that era to survive the so-called "downfall of disco". It wasn't an especially large club, being what would be known in Japanese as a "disuko" as opposed to a larger and more modern "kurabu", but it still attracted its fair share of patrons. After paying their entry fees, Kobayashi, Tohru and Lucoa strutted their asses into the place. Lighting wasn't an elaborate affair, just a flashing dance floor and some colored lights, plus a rotating rig on the ceiling consisting of four T-shaped members arranged in a "cross". Each of the T-shaped members had two Mark XII "police" lights of varying colors, for a total of eight. As for aural pleasure, the DJ's current selection was "Somebody Save Me" by Adriano Celentano. Upon witnessing the whole scene, Tohru and Lucoa were…well, "stunned" would be a bit of an understatement here. To them, seeing the disco scene was the equivalent of witnessing the Second Coming of Jesus, and Kobayashi took notice:
"Hey, do you two wanna dance or what?"
Neither of the dragons responded.
"Earth to Tohru and Lucoa!"
It was only when Kobayashi waved her hands in front of Tohru and Lucoa's faces that they responded.
"Oh, right!" Tohru giggled. "Let's dance!"
Without further ado, the three women headed to the dancefloor. It was quite packed, but they still found a spot big enough for all three of them, where they proceeded to get down. While not the biggest dance expert in the world, Kobayashi was a good enough dancer that nobody cared about her. Tohru and Lucoa not only had a really good sense of rhythm, but they knew their fair share of moves, and within a minute of getting to the groove, their smiles were ten miles wide as they caught the boogie fever. Being centuries – if not millenia – old the two dragons had partaken in their fair share of pleasures, but at this moment, nothing could quite measure up to disco music. Certain patrons took notice and got a bit closer to them. Soon, the DJ switched gears to "The Ultimate Warlord", as covered by The Immortals, which Tohru and Lucoa found no less entertaining. In fact, it was probably their favorite song so far. By this time, a couple of familiar faces came over:
"Kobayashi! Glad you could make it!" Takiya was wearing a white suit with a red button-down shirt and black leather dress shoes.
"Kobayashi, you never introduced me to your friends," said Shiro Yamashita, another one of Kobayashi's coworkers, who was dressed in a light gray suit, a light green button-down shirt and black leather dress shoes.
"Yamashita, this is Tohru, my maid, and that's Lucoa, another one of my good friends. Tohru, Lucoa, this is Shiro Yamashita, one of the senior developers at my workplace."
"How do you do?" Tohru and Lucoa gave flirty waves to Yamashita.
"Say, where's Fafnir?" asked Tohru.
"He's at the bar," said Takiya.
"Speaking of the bar, I'm getting thirsty!" said Lucoa.
"Me too!" said Tohru.
"I'm fine, but I'll still be here whenever you two get back," said Kobayashi.
Tohru and Lucoa hit the bar, during which time "Cool Dancin'" by Captain Keen was playing. Sure enough…
"Hey Fafnir!" said Tohru. "Having a good time?"
"I am having quite possibly one of the worst times of my life." Fafnir – dressed up in his usual black suit – took a sip of Scotch.
"Come on!" said Lucoa. "Disco's not that bad!"
"It offends all of my sensibilities. I don't get why humans like this contrived garbage."
"Sure, you might hate it now, but maybe after some more Scotch, you'll appreciate it!" said Tohru.
"Unlikely." Fafnir took another sip.
"Hey, can I get you ladies anything?" asked the bartender, a woman with her hair in a bun and a strapless red dress.
"I'll have a Bacardi and Coke!" said Tohru.
"Gimme a peach martini, please!" said Lucoa.
The bartender mixed Tohru and Lucoa's drinks, and the two dragon women paid for them.
"Cheers!" said Tohru.
Tohru and Lucoa toasted and took a drink.
"Hey Lucoa, try not to drink too much!" said Tohru. "You don't wanna have another incident like with you and your sister…"
"ENOUGH!"
Just then, Tohru's senses were excited by the next selection: "China Boy" by Dschinghis Khan.
"OOH! OOH!"
Immediately, Tohru pounded her drink on the bar and rushed for the dancefloor.
"Wait up, girl!"
Lucoa – having immediately forgotten how cheesed she was at Tohru – followed shortly after. As for Tohru, she tapped Kobayashi on the shoulder.
"Let's boogie!"
Tohru took Kobayashi by the hands and proceeded to dance wildly with her. Though surprised by Tohru's unabashed enthusiasm at first, Kobayashi nevertheless did her best to follow her maid's steps. In doing so, she got more of a charge out of tonight than she previously had. Even if Tohru was a complete weirdo at times, Kobayashi really liked the fact that she got such a charge out of the human world and all that it had to offer. Despite not being a lesbian, Kobayashi didn't mind dancing with another woman. In this moment, neither party was fixated on the anxieties and pressures of daily life. All that mattered was the boogie.
Lucoa was getting her own enjoyment out of the music, and by this time, a bunch of men had ganged up on her, all wanting to share a dance with her. She didn't mind, and in fact, she happily offered each and every one of them a chance to groove with her. She couldn't entirely figure out why she was enjoying the experience, but she sure enjoyed Dschinghis Khan. With the music seducing her eardrums and the lights beckoning her eyes, all she could think about was wanting to bring each one of these men home and have her way with them. Sure, her little Shota would be her #1, but disco music does funny things to people sometimes.
Speaking of funny things, both Kobayashi and Takiya couldn't help but notice what a time Lucoa was having. Even so, Kobayashi tried her best to focus on Tohru, who kept a smiling face fixated on her. Soon enough, Kobayashi lost track of anything else but Tohru and the music, and all the lights seemed to blend into one another. When she first mentioned the idea to Tohru, Kobayashi was worried that things would get exceedingly weird, but so far, the dragon maid herself was being quite well-behaved, and by this time, even lost in her senses, Kobayashi was greatly looking forward to doing this with her again.
As much fun as Kobayashi was having, though, she decided to call it a night to the strains of "Shame" by Evelyn "Champagne" King. As they left the disco, Tohru and Lucoa were still shaking their stuff, which Takiya took notice of:
"Wow, your friends must really love disco music!"
"Well, yeah!" said Lucoa.
"That music changed my life!" Tohru gently shook Kobayashi. "Miss Kobayashi, we HAVE to go again someday!"
Kobayashi smiled. "Well…all right. I'll take you again tomorrow night, but only because you were so well-behaved tonight. Also, keep in mind I have to work the next day, so we can't be there for too long, OK?"
Tohru gave a thumbs-up. "OK!"
"I'm there if you guys are!" said Lucoa.
"Grand! Have a good night, Lucoa!" Tohru waved at Lucoa.
"You too!"
Soon enough, Kobayashi and Tohru got back to the former's abode, where they ran into Sasakibe.
"How was Kanna?" asked Kobayashi.
"She was very well-behaved!" replied Sasakibe.
Kobayashi smiled. "Glad to hear it. Have a good night!"
"You too!"
Sasakibe returned to her abode.
"Miss Kobayashi, would you like me to bathe you?" asked Tohru.
Kobayashi smiled. "Thought you'd never ask."
Kobayashi and Tohru headed to the bathroom, where they stripped naked. Kobayashi turned on the water, and once the tub was filled, she got in, as did Tohru, who started cleaning her. Upon feeling Tohru rubbing her, Kobayashi let out a contented sigh. After a few hours' worth of dancing, it felt so heavenly to have her dragon maid washing away her anxieties and frustrations. Best of all, the afterglow of the music amplified the good feelings.
"Tohru, I'm not gay, but have I ever mentioned how much I love having you rub your hands all over me?"
"Oh, thank you! Cleaning you is one of my favorite activities!"
Kobayashi kept smiling as Tohru continued to wash her. Having lived a lonely life for so long, she felt much better and more confident about herself now that she had Tohru and Kanna to accompany her. Truly, these two dragons made life fun, if extremely weird. Kobayashi supposed that was a price to pay for that, though. Eventually, Tohru was done cleaning and rinsing Kobayashi:
"Miss Kobayashi, would you care to wash me now?"
"Gladly."
Kobayashi proceeded to wash Tohru, who found the experience just as pleasurable as the former did, if not more so. She too let out a contented sigh as her human master washed her, feeling all warm and tingly not only from the warm water, but also from the whole experience of going out to a disco. Of all the experiences she'd ever had, this was sure to be one of the happiest. All she could think about – besides how much she loved Kobayashi washing her – was how much she wanted to go back to the disco.
After finishing their bath and freshening up, Kobayashi and Tohru headed to the former's bedroom.
"Miss Kobayashi…may I please snuggle with you?"
Kobayashi nodded. "Go ahead."
And so, Tohru snuggled with Kobayashi.
"Thanks again for letting me go to the disco with you!" said Tohru. "That was the happiest I'd ever felt in a while!"
"Really?"
"Absolutely! You not only made my day, but perhaps even my whole life!"
"OK, I'm glad you enjoyed disco dancing, but did it really make that much of an impact on you?"
"Like you wouldn't believe!"
"Well, I'm glad you're happy. Good night, Tohru."
"Good night, Miss Kobayashi!"
Kobayashi and Tohru went to sleep, the disco beat still thumping through their bodies and into their dreams.
*A/N: Mieko isn't actually Kobayashi's first name; I just made it up for this story. For the record, it's pronounced "mee-AY-ko". Also, Miyu isn't actually Sasakibe's first name, nor is Shiro actually Yamashita's first name.
Criticism is gold. Negativity and nitpicking are pyrite.
