Imagination. What is imagination? Is it a figment of someone's subconsciousness? Something abstract? Resourceful? Creative? Something detached from the horrors of the real world? How do you earn it? How do you lose it? Imagination is something nobody can define. It can be used for good, evil, or just for amusement. It can manifest itself into the minds of people, and mold them into the way they are now. This story is all about imagination, and how differently its powers are used. But what it can delve into is up to individual interpretations, and therefore, nobody's imagination can be identical to another's.

So, in the place of those who couldn't be here today - I will tell their story. My name is Marin, and this is the story of how I survived and beat the world's first televised killing game.

"I'm not actually going to this thing, am I?" Marin asked. They were on the bus to TD2023. They were a Total Drama fangirl, and they once had a boyfriend called Topher. Topher was a Chris fanboy, and he basically stalked them. He broke up with them, and Marin still hadn't gotten over it.

"Yes you are," the driver said. "You're a Total Drama fangirl after all, but not to the same degree as your ex-boyfriend."

"Don't remind me of my dreadful boyfriend," Marin gasped.

Marin got up, and they started to walk across the bus... when the laughing started to warp.

"Hm...?" They tried to take a deep breath before the entire room begun to spin dizzily. They groped for the handle of their suitcase and heard it clatter loudly to the floor a distance away from them They themselves then fell next, gasping. "I cannot believe this..to fall ill on my very first day...! It is almost ridiculous!" They tried to say more, even tried to stand up, but their arms were too wobbly and their legs were too shaky so they collapsed again.

Their eyes felt heavy and with a few blinks, they closed them.

When Marin woke again, they immediately rubbed their eyes, feeling groggy and tired, but as they came to they realized where they were.

"I'm... on a bed?"

A girl in a gray hoodie was looking over them. "Hey, wake up!"

Marin sat up. "I am awake. Do you know where we are?"

"We're in an inn," the girl said. "What's your name, silver-haired person?"

"Er… Marin," they said. "I'm non-binary. What about yours?"

"Josephine Silver is my name. But you don't have to be a stranger when it comes to referring to me, alright? If anything, please call me Jo." The girl said.

"Are we the only two here?" Marin asked.

"No," Jo said. "There's 16 others."

So Jo and Marin went through the inn, managing to acquaint themselves with a few.

They were the 16 TD2023 contestants. Maybe things wouldn't be so bad...

Until Chris McLean appeared before them.

Chris looked different. His usual navy blue vest was now a harsh white, and his sleeves and pants were black. His skin is pale, and his thick black hair is swept to one side and covering one of his eyes.

"Welcome campers to the new season of Total Drama Island! I'm Mono-Chris, and I've made... slight changes to the rules to make it more interesting. So no more teams and challenges and marshmallows! Instead, you all have to kill each other! You can do anything! Even torture them! And when a body is found, an investigation will start, where you have to find clues left behind by the killer! After that, the surviving students must participate in a class trial! In the class trial, the blackened killer and the remaining spotless students will face off in court. During the trial, you'll present your arguments about who you think the blackened is. The outcome will be decided by popular vote and if you find the correct answer...only the blackened will face punishment. The rest shall continue the school trip. But if you pick the wrong one...the killer who got away with murder will survive, and the rest will be punished. As far as rules...that's all there is!" He bounced. "If you actually kill someone, and make it all the way through the class trial, you will live and leave the inn. Howeeeever...if you are found guilty during the class trial, then you will be punished." With a laugh, he continued. "So, familiar and simple, right?"

"No!" Jo snapped. "How are we supposed to know what that means!?"

"Hey, hey. When you say punish...what do you mean?" Marin tilted their head. Mono-Chris smirked. "Okay, so...it's an execution! Should be familiar enough with that!"

"E-EXECUTION!??!?!" Zee bellowed. "Yeppers! Ex-e-cu-tion! The spine-tingling, thrilling punishment following the class trial! I'm already getting riled up!" Mono-Chris grinned. "There might even be some special ones, like getting your head bitten off! Anyways, to spice things up, we're introducing two new contestants! Three if you count our co-host! First, say hello to the Ultimate Lesbian and Total Drama's first non-binary contestant... Marin!"

Marin was scared.

"From Total Drama Revenge of the Island, we have bossy bruiser, Jo! Jo's gonna star in this game, as the Ultimate Assassin."

"You're a dead man, McLean!" Jo yelled.

"For the co-host, we have Topher from Total Drama: Pahkitew Island!"

Topher then appeared in a cloud of smoke. The Topher that stood before everyone was barely recognizable to the one Marin had fallen in love with.

He was wearing white and black versions of the clothes he had on TDPI. One of his eyes was red.

"Topher's on the side of despair now! Let's upgrade him from the Ultimate Actor to something better!"

Topher - Ultimate TV Host

Everyone didn't dare to say a word.

"Finally, to conclude the entrance ceremony, I will give you… The E-Handbook! Fully digital handbook! It is extremely important, so don't break it and lose it! Your name will be displayed everytime you start it up. And it resists any kind of damage, and is waterproof! You will find the school regulations, which I can add whenever I want, so make sure to check them regularly. That's all for now! See ya, and enjoy your stay!" Mono-Chris said.

And with that, Mono-Chris and Topher were gone.

Everyone was panicking.

Marin played with their plait.

Killing to escape... that's the conditions of this new season of Total Drama...

A intriguing thought, but not one that I would consider if it meant leaving Topher's side... I still love him, even if we broke up and he's in despair now!

Be as it may... We have to escape...

I won't lose to this killing game!
