"How is she doing?"Caius asked Athenodora as he entered the training room at the Volturi castle. His attention was on a brown haired, green eyed vampire who was systematically decimating a group of 30 other vampires who were attacking her at the same time. The girl moved with deadly precision and Caius was afraid when she was done they would be down some guard members because it wasn't likely they would be able to find the pieces to all of them to put together to repair the bodies properly.

"She has already defeated more than half of them and it hasn't been five minutes. She hasn't even used her shield yet and at least a dozen vampires against her are gifted."Athenodora said not looking away from the brutal battle going on in front of her.

"What about the feeding?"Caius asked.

"It's been a month and she hasn't even shown signs of needing blood."They had been testing Isabella's control as it seemed that the newborn hadn't been affected by the same urges as other vampires when they were turned.Athenodora had been surprised and proud at Isabella's progress.

"She is magnificent isn't she?"Caius watched as Isabella flipped through the air taking out three vampires along the way.

"Of course she is."Athenodora agreed."She is our daughter, she would never be anything less than exceptional."

"Who would have thought that when Jane sent word that she found a human child that she had a familiar bond with all those years ago it would have led to us not only finding our daughter but the most dangerous vampire we have ever come across?"Caius asked.

Athenodora smirked."And to think you were furious at the idea of having any human let alone a child in the castle with us."

"Yes, yes I know I was wrong. You don't have to bring it up all the time."Caius grumbled.

"It's just lucky your hatred of humans hasn't led you to be prejudice against Isabella." Athenodora said.

"The child is to much like the the pair of us to feel anything other than love for her."Caius wasn't ashamed to admit his love for his daughter either.

"Any child having their first kill at the age of 8 was destine to be ours."Athenodora had been shocked when she had been told of Isabella's exploits but upon hearing the circumstances approved greatly of the girl's action. Anyone who thought they could sexually assault a child deserved to die.The fact that Isabella took her time and made it as painful as possible for her victim was something any parent should be proud of.

"The fact that she didn't get caught is still surprising."Caius had been beyond impressed with how planned out the entire incident was when Isabella had told them about it.When she explained why and how she did it they were beyond proud of her actions. Caius and Athenodora had of course praised her for her thought process and they had gone over the events many times helping Isabella learn what she did well and what she could have done better. Those were cherished conversations and had gone a long way to making the trio very close.

"Once again I would like to point out she is our daughter."Athenodora said.

"It looks like she is done."Caius smiled when he noticed the look of disgust Isabella had on her face while holding up a vampire begging for his life by the neck.As he expected Isabella tore off the man's head and tossed it and his body to the side.

"By the look on her face she isn't quite happy about her performance."Athenodora knew that Isabella was her worst critic. She would rather have someone critique her than compliment her so that she knew where she could improve.

"Did you watch the whole thing?"Isabella asked her parents as she noticed them when the fight was over. She walked up to them and gave both a kiss on the cheek.

Athenodora accepted the kiss on the cheek from her daughter happily. It pleased her to no end that even though Isabella was reserved in her emotions that she was more than willing to show affection to her parents."I did, your father came in a few minutes into it."

"I was to slow in the beginning and it cost me valuable time. I should have been done quicker."Isabella knew that she could do better and was mad at herself for her slight hesitation at the start of the fight."I took to much time accessing the situation instead of acting and accessing as I was moving."

"You are to hard on yourself.Almost half of those vampires had gifts and you didn't even use your shield. If it was anyone else they wouldn't have lasted even a minute."Caius told her.

"That's the point, I'm not everyone else.I'm not only your daughter but Jane and Alec's sister.I'm expected to be better than others."Isabella said.

"Isabella you have only been a vampire for less than a year. You aren't going to be perfect at everything right away. You need to be proud of what you have accomplished. Now tell me how you are feeling. Is the lack of blood effecting you?"Athenodora asked.

Isabella shook her head."No I don't feel the thirst at all.I do feel a little bit sluggish but it's not that bad."

"Your eyes are a little darker green but other than that you can't tell any obvious signs you are hungry."Isabella's eyes had been quite the surprise when she had woken up after being turned. They hadn't been able to figure out why they changed to that color because Isabella had had brown eyes when she was human.Caius had been worried that it meant something was wrong but Isabella hadn't had any problems with her sight so they figured it was just another quirk their daughter had.

"I think I can go at least a week longer, if not more."Isabella told them.

"I know you like pushing yourself but you need to make sure you don't make it so you become mad with hunger. It will be hard for you to come back from that."Athenodora warned.

"Of course mother. If I did that it would be a failure and I wouldn't do anything to bring shame to our family."Isabella said.

Athenodora put her arms around Isabella and hugged her."There is nothing that you could do to bring shame to our family."

"Except maybe turning to animal blood."Caius joked.

"That will never happen. I would rather starve."Isabella shuddered at the thought of lowering herself to drinking animal blood. It would be a disgrace to not only her family but the Volturi as a whole.

"I'm glad you feel that way.Now why don't you go clean up and meet us in the throne room.Your uncles and I have something to discuss with you."Noticing Isabella's worried look Caius put a reassuring hand on her shoulder."It's nothing bad.As a matter of fact I think you will rather like what we need to talk to you about."

"Alright, I will go change my clothing and get my robe."Isabella was curious what the kings needed to talk to her about. It had to be serious if they were meeting in the throne room.

"We will meet you in the throne room." Caius told her as he and Athenodora made their way out of the room.

Making sure Isabella was out of hearing range Athenodora spoke."Do you think she will be excited about going?"

"I think she will miss us when she is gone but I know that she will enjoy the battle."Caius told her.

"I just wish we could go with her to watch her decimate the group of newborns."Athenodora said.

"I'm tempted to go just to see the Cullen's reaction to her."Caius would love to see how the weak coven would react to seeing Isabella in all her glory.

"If the army is as big as we have been told then they are going to get quite the show."Athenodora was of the same thought as Caius.it would be nice to see the fear she was sure the Cullen's would have seeing Isabella take on an entire army of newborns."I think she will be disappointed that we don't let her take care of it herself."

"We talked about it and have given Jane instructions to let Isabella handle it and to only interfere if she gets overwhelmed or any try to get away."Caius wasn't going to take away the chance for Isabella to truly let loose when she had the opportunity.

"She will like that."Athenodora was sure of it. The only thing the queen was worried about was if the other guard members would have to step in. She knew her daughter would take that as a failure. Walking towards the throne room Athenodora sighed. She really wished she could be there. It would not only be nice to see her daughter fight but it would be good for someone to be there to console Isabella if she was forced to accept help.Athenodora knew Isabella would be devastated if she did and the queen wanted to be the one her daughter went to for solace.
