In my story, "Naruto: The Blonde Earthbender", I said that I'll be writing a crossover story with Naruto being in another anime. Erased will be the first.
Naruto will be paired with Kayo Hinazuki, TBH I didn't really like how the ending happened, I wish they paired Kayo and Satoru together, but we move.
Naruto will be an eighth grader that is at the bottom of his class, but his protection over Kayo Hinazuki put him at the top of any academic subject in her opinion.
Random bold and italic writing is scattered around the story; it is supposed to be the text of adult Naruto and adult Kayo "telling" a story.

Naruto Uzumaki x Kayo Hinazuki
Flashback - 15 years ago
A blonde boy with a medium height of 5'3 for a 13 year old. He was staring out of the window next to him at his school. He was watching as a little girl with medium length brown hair and a tan colored scarf.
She was playing in the snow as she was locked out of school for being late.
The date was the following, February 17 1988, the time was currently 7:01 AM.
"Jeez, the least they could do is let her be a minute late." The boy said out loud before getting up from his seat. He made his way to the front of the class.
The man that was teaching the class gave the blonde kid a stern look.
"Uzumaki-san, return to your seat unless you have something you want to add to our class's maths equation?" The overweight man with a balding head and glasses said tauntingly. The kid shoved his hands in his pockets.
He wore an orange and white combo colored jacket with green shorts and shoes. The most noticeable thing about him was his vibrant red scarf and orange ear muffs.
"Matter a fact, I do, fatass. Gimme that stupid chalk and duster." The boy rudely snatched the chalk and eraser out of the man's hand and tried reaching the top of the blackboard to write but could not reach. The boy awkwardly coughed into his hand. "Hey buddy, mind giving me a boost?" Uzumaki asked embarrassedly. The man laughed cockily before hoisting the boy up so he could face the black board fully.
Instead of writing an answer, the blonde just erased his entire equation entirely.
"Whoops, my hand slipped." The blonde said cheekily, the man threw him to the wall and started crying about his uncrackable equation that he couldn't remember.
"PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE! NOW!" The man screamed to the top of his lungs.
Hallways
As if being sent to the principal's office wasn't bad enough, he was given two buckets of cold water to hold for the rest of class. He was currently standing outside of his class.
"Screw this crap." The kid dropped the buckets.
He ran through the school so he could get to the front door.
'It must be freezing out there.' He thought as he opened the door, letting the cold breeze brush against his face. He shivered, tying his loose scarf tighter around his neck.
Stepping outside the school, his feet sunk into the snow almost instantly. His ocean blues scanned the area for life, but snow was all he could see. He however did hear scurrying lurking around the corner of the school. Walking to the corner, he peeked around the building to see the little brunette girl, lugging boxes onto boxes from the garbage; she was trying to reach the window outside her homeroom.
"You know, architecture can be dangerous–" His sentence was halted half way as the girl shrieked in fright and fell, the blonde boy quicking moved underneath her, her body fell softly into his arms. "-If you don't have a stable environment." He said with a cheeky grin.
The girl in turn blushed slightly before muttering, 'Sorry'. The kid put her down, he was taller than by a head. He smiled kindly before shooting his hand out in greeting.
She was a cute girl with a heart-shaped face with a button nose and brown hair that fell over her forehead but stayed out of her brown eyes. She wore a yellow scarf, a faded dark red coat and a mini skirt along with blue socks and brown boots
"Hey, my name is Naruto Uzumaki. What's yours?" The blonde asked curiously, the girl bowed before making her way back to the boxes. She continued lugging the boxes, preferably in a staircase sort of way. Grabbing her hand, he winced at the cold temperature of which her hand was.
"I asked for your name. And you realize that your hands are freezing?" Naruto said. The girl simply shook her head at his stubbornness.
"Why would you want to know me?" The girl asked quietly. Naruto clasped his arms behind his head.
"Are you stupid?" He asked rhetorically, the girl blushed again but hid behind the hem of her scarf. He continued: "I want to know your name because I want to. Doesn't get simpler than that." Naruto said simply, his eyes closed and he yawned.
She looked away with red cheeks but displayed no visible emotion.
"My name is Kayo Hinazuki." Kayo said quietly, Naruto grinned toothily before taking her hand into his, he led her to the entrance of the school.
"C'mon!" He exclaimed, pulling her along. Naruto glanced back, seeing purple marks on her neck. She brought her hand up to grab her scarf to keep the wind away.
"What are you doing, Uzumaki-san?" She asked.
"Are you stupid? It's ff-freezing out here!" Naruto nearly shouted for the world to hear.
Kayo mentally repeated Naruto's question:
'Am I stupid?'
Later on
Naruto and Kayo were standing side-by-side with buckets in hand, downcasted expressions plastered on their faces. Naruto was comically sobbing waterfalls while Kayo watched him with a disinterested look.
"Why are you crying? It was you who erased your teacher's equation?" Kayo asked the blonde. He stared at her with something akin to a scowl.
"I felt sorry for you because you were in the cold!" He said, angrily.
'He felt sorry? For me?' Kayo mentally asked herself before bringing the subject to the surface.
"You felt sorry for me? Why?" She asked defensively. The blonde kid shook his head as he stood with the buckets in hand.
"Do I need to feel sorry for someone? Is it a crime to want to help people out in the cold?" Naruto asked.
It isn't…
"You should really lighten up." Naruto said, running a hand through her hair.
Why?
"No point, why should I be different if everyone is just going to lie to get what they want?" She said suddenly.
I didn't know how to answer that…
Naruto stood there gaping, the question was so simple but he didn't have an answer for it. In the end, he just shrugged his shoulders.
"Beats me, but people aren't really keen on the distant girl, monotone girl. Monotone doesn't really suit you, you're too cute." He said in a humorful way. He traced a ring on his thumb.
"What's that?" Kayo asked, pulling Naruto out of his dazed state.
"It belonged to my father." Naruto wore a gold wedding ring.
Kayo heard the sadness leaking off his tone but didn't do anything, she just watched as he caressed the ring.
"I'm sorry."
Was I really sorry though?
Timeskip - February 26th 1988
After Naruto and Kayo met, he'd often tease her and he'd help her fend off the bully-girls that always came after her because of her "reputation". After the second day of "hanging out" as Naruto puts it. Once she asked:
"Why are you being nice to me? I could kill you in your sleep without you noticing?" Naruto was completely baffled at the evil scenario Kayo came up with. To which he replied with:
"I doubt you'd do that. You love me too much to actually try and kill me!" His laughter echoed throughout the alleyway as he made his way down with Kayo. Even if she didn't know it now, she'd grown quite attached to the blonde 14 year old. She'd often glance at his hand, when he'd brush his limb through her hair, a warm sensation would course through her body, leaving her emobile for a split second. Kayo sometimes got the thought of grasping his hand, finding the thought of being near such a warm heatsource appealing.
Naruto Uzumaki was trudging along the path way to his house, with hands in his pockets he whistled. He bumped into a few kids, causing him to sheepishly apologize.
"Sorry guys." Naruto said before continuing his walk.
"Naruto-san?" An unexpected voice murmured. Looking up from the floor he glanced at the owner of the voice. He is surprised to see Kayo Hinazuki.
"Kayo-san, what's up?" Naruto greeted cheerfully, greeting her with a wave. He also saw two other kids. One had black hair and was standing closer to Kayo than the other kid who had dark blue hair styled in a semi-bowl cut and blue eyes.
"Who're your friends?" Naruto asked, the kid with black hair gave him a weird vibe, he stood differently than anyone Naruto had ever seen, Naruto knew something was off, like he knows something, or he's hiding something.
Better keep a close eye on him…
Naruto examined the other kid, seeing her to be nothing but a girl.
Or a boy..?
Kayo lazily waved her hand to the two boys.
"The one with black hair is Satoru Fujinuma, and the other boy–" Naruto burst out laughing. He pointed to the kid with a semi-bowl cut.
"You're a dude? HAHAHA! That's gotta be the funniest thing I've ever heard!" His laughter died down. "Phew, ok, continue." He said. Kayo sighed.
"Are you stupid?" She said, not knowing she had said her thoughts. She doubled back on the question and blushed as it was what Naruto always asked. The blonde in question smiled mischievously and tip-toed behind Kayo, he leaned his head on top of hers.
"Ngaw! That's cute, you copied me." He said in a sing-song tone of voice.
He's been teasing me ever since we met, it was infuriating!
"And the other boy is Hiromi Sugita." Kayo introduced the two kids. Naruto stuck his hand out for both to shake but Satoru smacked it away.
"What are you doing here, you leech!" Satoru's blue hues boring a hole into Naruto's ocean blues.
"My house is across the road from Kayo's. Why? You jealous?" He asked teasingly, Satoru angrily growled.
"No!" Satoru exclaimed, blushing, Kayo also blushed. Naruto then glanced coldly at him.
"Then move." The blonde said, he gently pushed Satoru to the side and took Kayo's hand in his, warming hers up.
"Bye!" Hiromi waved them bye, he turned to ask Satoru something but didn't see him. "Satoru?"
Naruto and Kayo
Naruto was humming a soft tune with Kayo limping next to him.
The blonde Uzumaki noticed a few days ago how much more interesting his life was now that he met Kayo Hinazuki, she was a shy, introverted girl with a troubled past like himself. Kayo Hinazuki kept him on his toes as of late, and he noticed her somewhat change in demeanour when he entered the picture. She would stumble sometimes, and he analysed that her ears always burned a vibrant red when she lied. He took notice of the limp and asked:
"What's wrong with your foot?" Naruto asked, Kayo looked at her foot in question. She couldn't tell him what the problem really is, so she decided to lie:
"I fell." She said, Naruto sighed seeing her ears glow red.
"You're a terrible liar." Naruto said before dropped low. A perplexed Kayo raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"What are you doing?" Kayo asked confusedly, in that same bored, indifference voice. Naruto clicked his teeth.
"Come on, you're obviously hurt, so I'll carry you." Naruto said, after some internal thinking, she obliged to his request. Slowly climbing onto the blonde's back he hoisted her up more.
"Comfy?" He asked, he felt Kayo nod into his back. They trudged on the path to Kayo and Naruto's houses on 5th street. The blonde stopped at the front door of Kayo's house and slowly took her off his back, she slowly started to wake up after the warmth of Naruto's back left her cold. She rubbed her eyes a few times before yawning, Naruto laughed and ruffled her hair.
"You got anything planned tomorrow?" Naruto asked, Kayo nodded her head.
"I'm hanging out with Satoru at the science center." Kayo informed, seeing his slightly crestfallen expression, Kayo decided to do something that could jeopardise her relationship with Satoru.
Hmpt, yet I knew you longer than him…
That may be so, but he was a good friend…
"Would you like to come?" Kayo asked with her back facing Naruto. The blonde shook his head and ruffled her head.
He did appreciate the kind gesture, but he didn't want cause rifts in Kayo and that Satoru punk-
He's still our friend!
But when he was little he was a real piece of shit!
He thought it would be good for her to make friends like them. Hiromi seemed like a nice kid.
"No thanks Kayo, you have fun with your new friends." Naruto said, he waved backwards as he retreated across the street. "I'll see you on Monday, I'll be picking you up." Naruto said and entered his house, not giving Kayo time to argue against it.
But I wanted your father to come as well…
"I wanted you there too." Kayo said cutely, she entered her house and shut the door behind her, sending a lasting glance at Naruto's front door of his house.
Timeskip - February 28th 1988 - 6:56
Naruto was making his way to Kayo house. He was eager to ask her questions of how her day with Satoru Fujinuma and his other friends went at the science center. He had a lot in store for Kayo and him today. After school, they'll play at the park for a bit, he'll take her to his house and they'll bake a cake. She however wasn't so eager to have him picking her up, her mother wasn't that much of a kind lady.
Finally arriving at her house, he knocked several times on the front door.
However, I got no reply.
He decided to open seeing as there were no shoes outside or a car in the driveway. Opening the door he was somewhat surprised that it wasn't locked, ever so slightly, he looked through the crack and saw two unconscious bodies, one male and the other female, both surrounded by alcohol.
He thought it was weird that Kayo's mom was surrounded by empty bottles of alcohol with a blonde drunkie. Inspecting the whole house he couldn't find Kayo, he decided to just meet her at school. Exiting the house he closed the door quietly and loudly sighed.
"Wonder where she–" His ears picked up a noise, it sounded like… shuttering? He then remembered who sounded like that when they were cold.
Kayo!
"Kayo!" He gasped. Rounding the corner he saw a bag with books spread around the snowy floor. He examined the books, recognising the name written on the bag, quickly picking up the books, pencils, and clothes, a ripped scarf particularly stuck out to him from all the rest; he followed the trail of footsteps that led him to the door of a shed. Opening it cautiously he saw a very cold, barely clothed Kayo, bruises littering her body from head-to-toe.
Kayo opened her eyes and saw Naruto, she shielded herself as she didn't want him to see her like this. "Don't look… at me." She whispered.
"Kayo!" He gasped.
"Close the door…" She pleaded, and Naruto shook his head.
"I'm not leaving you here!" Naruto said stubbornly, quickly rushing to her side, he took his jacket off and wrapped her up in it. He then wrapped his red scarf around her neck and most of her head.
"You're cold as ice!" He almost shouted and quieted down when he heard the front door of the house shut. He looked around the shed for something to conceal his and Kayo's body.
An attractive blonde woman opened the door, her piercing red eyes scanning the shed, checking her watch she saw it was, "6:56", guessing Kayo already left, she shut the door. Naruto stepped out from behind some boxes with Kayo tied to his back like a backpack.
Naruto released a sigh, while Kayo was wincing and shuttering. The blonde untied the wire that kept Kayo up and took her into his arms. He snarled at the nerve of this bitch to dare lay a hand on Kayo.
"No school today, you can come with me back home." Naruto said warmly seeing her snuggled into his arms subconsciously.
Sometime later
Kayo woke up from her night terror. She looked at her surroundings and deduced that this was someone's room, or their basement. Judging from the interior of the roof and walls. It looked rather cozy to Kayo and she subconsciously snuggled into the big wooly blanket.
She felt the circumference of a soft mattress, the way her body sank into each spot she placed her hand for support. She heard the door to the basement open and she covered herself in the blanket, walking in with a tray of ramen and a cup of soup, Naruto looked for Kayo. Peeking out the blanket, Kayo poked her head out.
"Rise and shine." Naruto said cheerfully, she noticed his peculiar clothing choice, as he didn't wear his jacket or scarf.
What am I doing here?
"What am I doing here, Uzumaki-san." Kayo asked emotionlessly, Naruto winced.
Jeez
"Jeez, give a girl soup and food and she's still as cold as you Kayo-chan." He said jokingly.
'What did he call me?' Kayo asked inwardly, Naruto helped her sit up and placed the tray over her lap. She was about to grab the chop sticks when Naruto picked them up instead.
"I feel like I'll feed you today. Say uhh~" Naruto said, getting a batch of ramen and placing it in front of her mouth.
Is he stupid?
"Are you stupid or something?" Kayo asked, Naruto blanched.
"Am I stupid?! Are you stupid!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air in frustration. Naruto poked her stomach, eliciting a laugh from her and he shoved the noodles into her mouth.
Yes… well to the first rhetorical question…
Ha ha, we both know I was smarter than you at that age.
What about now?
…
Well?
…You're so mean…
Though she did enjoy the gesture of kindness, she didn't show it. Kayo ate slowly, slurping up the noodles that slightly hung from her mouth. She lapped her tongue around her lips to consume the essence.
BURP!
Naruto laughed at her cute expression when she burped, as she blushed due to the burp, she tucked her lower face into Naruto's scarf, wait! Naruto's scarf? She pulled the scarf down so she could examine it and indeed it was Naruto's red scarf. She was about to pull it off when Naruto tied it tighter around her neck.
"You can have it. I saw that your scarf was ruined at your house." Naruto said sadly, he softly caressed her hair. She blushed again.
"Thank you…" Kayo teared up slightly, she had never gotten a gift from anyone except her grandmother, Naruto grinned.
"No probl-"
"Naruto-san."
Naruto smiled at this, she had finally called him by his name instead of his surname. He gently pulled her head into his chest, he felt her stiffen but relaxed in the hug.
"Don't sweat it, Kayo-chan." Naruto said.
He said it again…
"Why do you call me that?" Kayo asked questionably. Naruto scratched his head sheepishly.
"I don't know, I've taken quite a liking to you." Naruto said with the utmost sincerity in his voice. Kayo blushed at the thought of them being together. Naruto sensed and saw the effect it had on Kayo and waved his hands wildly with a small blush.
"No, no! Wait, wait! Not like that, I just mean that I think you're a good friend; I'm three years older than you kid, relax." Naruto said, picking up some noodles and holding them to her mouth. Instead of opening her mouth, Kayo pointed to Naruto's cheeks.
"You have whiskers." She said quietly, Naruto scratched his cheek embarrassedly.
"Yeah, I've had them since I was a baby, they get darker the older I get." Naruto said with an embarrassed blush, at the moment, his whiskers were faded lines but looked tangible. Kayo inwardly asked herself:
'What would happen if I touched them?' She wondered and opened her mouth seeing as the noodles were getting cold.
Timeskip - A few hours
Naruto walked Kayo back to her house, he gave her the discarded clothes from earlier since he brought them with him.
"My Okaa-san isn't home. Thank you Naruto-san." Kayo said with a small smile. Naruto winked at her.
"Enjoy the scarf, and if you need someone to talk to or if you need help, I'll be here before you can say ramen." Naruto said cheerfully before running down the road; he did not want to go home yet, so he decided to go for a walk.
"Ramen." She said out loud. Out from behind her a hand that belonged to a blonde man grabbed her shoulder.
"Kayo, your Okaa-san just left, come and keep me company." The man said, his red eyes clouded by lust. Kayo spilt tears from her eyes, fear creeping to her face as she turned to face him.
He was a middle aged man with blonde hair that split in the middle and fell to the sides. He was a tall, skinny man, he wore a green sweatshirt and blue jeans; he was barefoot. This man was the cause of half of Kayo's trauma, the other half going to her mother. He'd verbally, and physically abuse her, usually using her to pleasure himself, but he had enough self-control to not go all the way with Kayo, it was just simple touches and kisses on the cheek.
"N-no, I don't want to, Hoozuki-san." He slapped the top of her head.
"Come on, give your daddy a kiss!" He ordered and leaned in, but he was kicked in the mouth.
"Keep your creepy-ass hands off her, you pedophile-bastard!" The voice screamed.
Kayo was frozen in her place, tilting her head up she gazed into ocean blue hues, and she saw blonde hair. Her lip quivered.
"N-naruto-san…" She cried out, the man with a bleeding nose stumbled to his feet and ran to the blonde boy.
"Gahh!" He screamed, tackling the boy, Naruto used all his strength to throw the man over him, the man's body soared through the air, onto the road, his body landed on the hood of a moving car, the brakes were used and a sickening shriek sounded through the air. Naruto looked back before, in surprise, he turned back around upon the body landing harshly on the road.
"You came." Kayo said, her smile was small but it was there, hidden by fear and anxiousness. Naruto turned confused.
"You said ramen right?" He asked, she jumped into his arms, crying her eyes out. He rubbed her head softly. "Yup, sorry kid. I think I killed your dad." Said Naruto, Kayo shook her head negatively. She hated the man, he wasn't even her biological dad.
"He's not my dad." Kayo said in his shirt. Naruto smiled and patted her back.
"You wanna sleep at my house?" Naruto asked, Kayo smiled and was going to nod when an angry voice stopped her.
"Kayo! Where have you been all day?! Your school phoned me, saying you didn't show!" Kayo's mother shouted for all the neighbours to hear. Naruto faced Kayo's mother.
"She was with me, and where were you? Going around dressing like a whore selling your body!" He yelled at the woman.
"So you were with this brat all day?! You slut!" She brought her hand up and down to slap Naruto before slapping Kayo. He swiftly dodged her slap and threw some snow at her eyes before dragging Kayo across the road.
Akemi Hinazuki writhed in slight pain, she tried hitting the kids but got nothing but air. Once she removed the snow from her eyes, she screamed loudly as the boy and Kayo were gone from her clutches!
"You little shit! Where are you!?" She screamed, stepping foot in her house.
Naruto's house
Naruto and Kayo were panting like thirsty dogs in the desert, pleading for water. Naruto pulled her inside and they sat on the sofa of the sitting room; Naruto sighed.
"Man, that was… different." Naruto said to Kayo who didn't look at him. The blonde placed a hand on her shoulder but she slapped it away. "Hey! What's the big idea? I just saved you." The blonde said, nursing his sore hand. Kayo turned back to him, sobbing uncontrollably like a tape running. "Hey, hey; what's wrong?" Uzumaki asked the crying girl.
"Nothing! It's just… I can't remember ever being loved!" She weeped, Naruto pulled her into his arms, she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, tears pouring out from her eyes and down her cheeks before dropping from her chin. The blonde rubbed her back.
"If you don't have anyone to love you, I can help you with that." Naruto said into her ear, his statement echoed through her eardrum as she hugged him tighter and cried louder. He just caressed her hair soothingly.
…
..
.
"I'd like that." She hiccuped, the blonde that was hugging her smiled warmly.
"How was the science center?" Naruto asked Kayo who broke the hug and rubbed her eyes. He stood from the comfy sofa, then led her to his kitchen and pulled a seat out for her while he pulled out some vegetables and washed his hands before washing the vegetables; no one liked dirty veggies! Ew!
Yeah, ew
Will you please?
Fine dear, continue…
As Kayo took a seat at the table, Naruto looked expectantly, she stared back, there was a small silence between the two kids, the sound of water falling on the vegetables drowning the sound of their hearts beating slowly. Naruto smiled before he pulled a knife out from one of the drawers along with a chopping board and started cutting the veggies like a pro and placing them in a bowl. He looked behind him, Kayo patiently waiting for the food to finish/start.
He soon pulled out the following ingredients: Chicken Wings, bonito stock, ginger, onion, sake, mirin, sugar, light soy sauce, salt, broth. He was preparing to make furikake gohan, a dish his mother tried teaching him before her sad death. There wasn't much left of the ingredients.
"So, what did you do at the science center, Kayo-chan?" Naruto asked as he dabbled with some sauces to see which was full. He didn't receive an answer however, looking back, he saw Kayo gone and his basement door open. Trudging to open the door, he entered the basement, as he reached the bottom he had to stop himself from laughing. There sat a Kayo who was wrapped in a thick red blanket with only her head, eyes and nose showing.
"What's wrong, Kayo-chan?" Naruto asked, the little girl in question shrugged her shoulders. She was cold? That's about it.
Yeah, right
"Nothing, Naruto-san. Just a little cold." She said, wrapping her body more with the thick warmth that was the blanket.
"Would you like to eat down here?" Naruto asked, Kayo nodded and the blonde left upstairs. Half an hour later Naruto came walking back down with a tray of furikake gohan halved in a bowl with veggies inhabiting the other side, and some hot chocolate.
"Sorry for the wait. Here." He placed the tray on a small coffee table to the left and sat next to Kayo.
"Itadakimasu." Kayo whispered before picking up a spoon she scooped some of the food, she saw that Naruto had none of the delicious food. "Naruto-san, where is your food?" Kayo asked curiously, Naruto leaned his head back on the couch.
"I didn't do the shopping today, so there wasn't that much left of the ingredients, so I made it for you." Naruto said, Kayo smiled at the kind gesture, ever since she met Naruto she was a lot happier. Even with her being friends with Satoru and Hiromi and such, no one made her happier than Naruto doing small stuff like cooking her a meal, talking to her, making her feel welcome to spread her secrets.
Her philosophy was that everyone was fakes and liars, but that was invalid when it came to Naruto. He told the truth every time, it may see him out to be naive or outright dumb to others, but to her it made him all the more special. Lately she'd notice something, when she was around the blonde, her mood would sky-rocket from a 2 to a 20 to a higher number in the feeling scale.
After he'd given her his scarf a few hours ago, she noticed her heartbeat rapidly increasing for a moment, and before that when he said his statement, 'I don't know, I've taken quite a liking to you.' she thought to herself:
"Do I need to feel sorry for someone? Is it a crime to want to help people out in the cold?"
Back then, I didn't know how to answer that question Naruto threw at me… but I knew at that moment, in that basement, I had completely fallen for Naruto Uzumaki…
'Is it a crime to catch feelings for someone who isn't in my imagination?' Kayo thought to herself.
It isn't…
I used to think what I wanted was to go to a faraway island that I could explore, but then I knew what I needed was someone to talk to.
Naruto opened his mouth to speak but a spoon full of furikake gohan was shoved into his mouth by a blushing Kayo. She slowly pulled the spoon out once she felt Naruto's tongue lick the metal utensil.
"You shouldn't have to starve after everything you've done for me." Kayo said kindly, a smile on her face which was flushed red with unrelenting happiness.
Naruto's mind went blank at this statement, it was the same one he said to his mother a day before her untimely death.
A flash of memories pass through Naruto's brain, of him meeting Kayo Hinazuki, walking her home, laughing while she watches, and sharing food. He realized something, he changed as a person because of her, he no longer helped people out for money, he stopped stealing, no, he gave, he helps when someone needs it, and he turns down money when it's presented to him. Before meeting Kayo he would take and steal but he'll be honest about it.
He suddenly let tears spill from his eyes, remembering the memory of his mother passing from starvation. He furiously rubbed his eyes of the tears that fell, his shoulders shook violently, his bottom lip trembling.
He felt two small arms encircle around his head. He felt small drops of moisture fall on his head.
"It's ok…" Kayo whispered, Naruto cried harder than ever.
"I'm sorry Okaa-san… I'm sorry I couldn't do better!" Naruto cried out, Kayo cried also, and she rubbed the back of his hair, her fingers dancing through his freeflow hair.
"It's ok Naruto-san, I'm sure she would've loved how you turned out." Kayo reassured him. Naruto hugged her tighter.
The moment when my Okaa-san passed, I would've given anything to see her again, even my life. But ever since I met Kayo, I could only think of how I didn't want to die, and because of her… I want to live!
"She would've liked you, Kayo-chan." Naruto replied and he broke the hug. "Sorry for being a complete wimp, I just needed a good shoulder to cry on." Naruto said half-jokingly and half-apologetically. Kayo shook her head in the negative.
"It's fine Naruto-kun, if you need a shoulder to cry on, I'll be right across the street. Or for this instance, I'll be next to you." She laughed. Naruto stared wide-eyed at her, forcing Kayo to blush and turn away, a semi-blush appeared on Naruto's cheeks by her laugh. He found it… cute.
'Did she just laugh? Why did she call me that?' He asked himself in his brain. Naruto brought it to the surface.
"What's up with the name?" Naruto asked, Kayo covered her mouth with the scarf and smiled underneath.
"I don't know, I guess I've taken a liking to you, Naruto-kun." She said cheekily, reusing his own line against him. He blushed in embarrassment, thinking if it sounded that corny coming out of Kayo's mouth, what would it have sounded like from his own.
"Cheeky brat." He murmured and took a spoon full of gohan and held it in front of Kayo with a teasing smirk. "Open wide Chibi-chan, here comes the choo choo train!" He imitated a train sound and drove the spoon in front of her face. Kayo laughed outright, and stopped when Naruto shoved the spoon in mouth.
They laughed as they ate their food. Kayo told Naruto about the science center in great detail. Saying how she beat Satoru every time they played shogi, much to her surprise Naruto pulled a shogi board along with the pieces out from underneath the floorboards.
"Let's have a few games." Naruto smirked, he was ok at shogi, but suspected her to be overly exaggerating her skills. She scoffed in reply, doing a mocking wave to bring it on.
Naruto and Kayo were seated on each side of the coffee table, the bowl of furikake gohan discarded to the side, a shogi board situated between them. The two would move pieces back and forth, occasionally Kayo would take a piece and Naruto would look at the board dumbfounded.
"Hmmm?" He voiced. He then did something, he grabbed the blanket to the side and threw it in Kayo's face before switching the pieces around. "Checkmate." Naruto said proudly, his arms crossed over his chest. Kayo threw the blanket off her before laughing.
"Even when you cheated, you still lost." Kayo said, Naruto scanned the board and couldn't see any way of how he could've lost, he pinned her piece with the king's crown.
He shrugged his shoulders before she moved a piece and captured his king. "What the hell?!" Naruto exclaimed, he sat there scratching his head confusedly on how something that obviously had slipped through his "defences", Kayo cheered in victory.
"Rematch!" Naruto exclaimed, rearranging all the pieces he started first with a frontal attack; attacking by moving a piece two spaces forward.
"You can be so obvious sometimes, Naruto-kun." Kayo stated before moving her queen piece into the opening Naruto gave her. She then pinned his knights and king.
"Damn it!" Naruto whined, and they proceeded to have over a dozen games before Kayo called it quits.
"Naruto-kun, I quit." Kayo said with a cute yawn. Naruto is tired as well, they've been playing for over an hour and 30 minutes and Naruto hasn't won once.
"Ok, goodnight Kayo-chan." He said after packing the shogi board away. He made his way up the stairs but his hand was grabbed when he reached the final step.
"Will you… please stay with me… just for tonight. I don't want to be alone down here." Kayo asked quietly, Naruto heard the vulnerability in her voice and the slight crack at the end. Naruto closed the basement door and smiled warmly.
"Ok, Kayo-chan; let's get some sleep." The blonde protagonist said. Kayo smiled and skipped down the stairs with Naruto following in toe. Kayo almost instantly jumped in the blanket pile and snuggled in them.
"Comfy?" The blonde asked the brunette.
"Yup, very." Naruto laughed and situated himself on the couch and snatched a blanket from before wrapping it around Kayo, imitating a burrito, he then rolled her over.
"Go to sleep now." Naruto said in a joking manner. She shook her head negatively. It was Naruto's turn to become confused. "But why? You sounded sure of it before." Naruto said.
Kayo yawned. "My mom and her boyfriend would kick me in the stomach if I slept without their permission." Kayo said nonchalantly. Naruto growled inwardly.
'Those two cowardice-crackheads!' Naruto thought venomously. He pulled Kayo close.
"Then I'll just have to protect you, huh." Naruto grinned, and caressed her hair. He didn't get an answer however, because Kayo was asleep.
"Are you stupid? You can't just sleep like that." Naruto said with an ever-growing smile. He did something he might regret later, he leaned down and gave a tender kiss on her forehead, smiling as she cooed.

Naruto was in town shopping for a gift for Kayo and Satoru. It was Kayo who sent an invite to Naruto, he replied with a simple, "I don't know if your friends want me there. Especially Satoru, he gives me the creeps.", Kayo then used a technique she created, the puppy dog eyes technique.
"Please." She said simply, her eyes became deep pools of cuteness. Naruto relented.
"I'm not beating you in this, huh?" Naruto asked, shoulders slumped. Kayo shook her head with a small smile. "Fine, when is it?"
"Next Wednesday." Kayo said and grinned. "And bring Satoru a gift, here's the address." She said as she gave him a piece of paper to the location.
Naruto was now looking for something Kayo would like and something Satoru would hate, he didn't really like the kid because of some grudge Satoru seems to have against him. He kept looking at him strangely, and Naruto would even hear him talking about a murderer, something along the lines of, "Who is it? It has to be that blonde Naruto kid, I mean, why would he have taken notice in Kayo? Who even is he? I don't remember him from my time."
That's when I put it together… Satoru was from the past!
The FUTURE, honey! The future, goddamnit!
Hey! Not in front of her, she'll pick up bad habits from you!
Oh please, you're the one that likes to get bit, you're such a masochist.
Hey, you're not so innocent, I'm not the one last night asking for my dick in her ass-
(Smack!)
Now who'll she pick up bad habits from? Anyways, after Naruto figured out what to get Satoru, he thought long and hard about what he wanted to get me.
'Oh my god! I don't know what to get Kayo-chan, for the longest I've known her, she hasn't taken any explicit interest in anything besides that baby fox we saw on the street!' The idea hit him like a stack of bricks.
"I'll get her that stupid fox! She'll never see it coming!" Naruto exclaimed before wandering off into the poorer side of town. People watched the little kid as he left with a weird expression plastered on his face, never had anyone just screamed for no reason and walked off like it was normal.
Naruto walked through a desilet area of the Tomakomai, Hokkaido Prefecture, he walked around corners, he turned another corner, as it was the last corner he would turn while looking for this mutt. The baby fox whipped happily before jumping into Naruto's arms.
"Ew! Get off me, you stupid fox!" Naruto snarled as he felt the foxes little canine nick his skin around his neck. The fox growled and bit down harder. Naruto had enough and chucked the stupid mutt off of him.
I still have those scars.
Oh, get over it; you're such a baby!
Ouch, a bit hard don't you think?
Not hard enough I'm afraid!
That's not what you were saying last night.
(Smack!)
Double ouch!...
Naruto grabbed the claw marks on his neck before snarling.
"You are going to be a gift to my friend, so come to my house so I can clean you, fleabag!" He sneered. The fox wagged its tail in excitement before pouncing on Naruto who caught him mid-air and clutched him by his paws and held him over his shoulders. "Let's go!" He quickly ran straight to his house to clean him, because he felt a bunch of fleas biting the back of his neck.
At Naruto's house, he was forcing the orange fox into the water but it wasn't relenting in the slightest. "Come on! Work with me here!" The blonde shouted and pushed him into the warm water, the fox sighed and relaxed in the water. At first he thought it would be cold, but it was surprisingly warm.
"Where's your family, mutt?" Naruto asked as he was cleaning all the grime and dirt out of the fur. He heard the fox whimper and assumed the worse. "Sorry… that's something we have in common." Naruto said fondly as he applied shampoo to the foxes head and body.
Timeskip - March 2nd 1988
Naruto had two boxes with Satoru and Kayo's presents.
'Hope she likes it.' Naruto hoped with an outward sigh as he looked at Kayo's present, he then glared at Satoru's gift. 'I hope he LOVES this gift, I put my all into this!' Naruto thought mischievously. He knocked several times and the door opened to reveal a beautiful woman with very full lips and short black hair with blue bluehair tied into a long ponytail, and blue piercing eyes. Naruto then smirked, he then leaned on the doorway with a suggestive eyebrow raise.
"I'm here for a birthday party~ but instead of the kids unwrapping the presents, I'll just unwrap you~" Naruto winked at the end, he wasn't being serious. The woman reciprocated the wink with her own before turning around with a fling of her finger and swaying her hips to entice him, which didn't really work as he wasn't looking at her ass.
He just dumbly watched her leave.
"Are you coming?!" She asked as she turned back to wonder if he was following; as she didn't hear any footsteps. He quickly followed suit after removing his shoes.
"Yeah, I was just joking with my flirting. I hope I didn't give you the wrong idea." Naruto said with a scratch to his head. The woman smirked and turned to look over her shoulder.
"You're a bit too young for me, boy. But I know you'll make Kayo-chan really happy." The woman said with a knowing leer. Naruto blushed and flailed his arms.
"No, no, no! You've got the wrong idea, lady. She's my best friend." Naruto said, making sure his point came across super clear. She instead smiled with a knowing smirk - oh, I know that look.
"Listen to me, kid, I know that look, I see it with Satoru-kun all the time, but Kayo-chan doesn't seem to notice. But when she does she just asks him if he's stupid or something. But hear me out, Kayo-chan likes you very much. I don't know your guy's history, but she's special to Satoru-kun and special to me." The lady said fondly, throughout last month of events, Satoru had brought Kayo over to stay for quite an amount of time. He had expressed interest in the young girl to which his feelings for her weren't reciprocated in the way she knew her son wanted.
"That little shi…! -Satoru has a crush on Kayo-chan?" Naruto asked curiously, the older woman nodded. "What's your name again?"
"Sachiko Fujinuma. And you?" The now named Sachiko asked, the blonde grinned; pointing at himself, he proudly proclaimed:
"I'm Naruto Uzumaki, and I'm here for Kayo-chan's birthday." The blonde boy stated with a confident tone. He held his hand out and Sachiko took it gladly, and they shook each other's hands with a sense of understanding and respect.
"You're like Satoru-kun, older than you seem. It's like you have the consciousness of an old veteran, and it's like Satoru-kun is from the future." Sachiko said and raised her eyebrow with a certain look.
'Who is this woman?! I ain't a past life?!' Naruto screamed in his mind. Sachiko ruffled his head. "Uhh– thanks? I guess."
"Don't worry about it, cake is about to be blown out; Kayo-chan had a sour mood the WHOLE party, I think she wanted to see you there." Sachiko said and led Naruto up a flight of steps and entered a candle lit room, two cakes in the center of the room with eleven identical candles in a circle; a semi-crowd of kids surrounding the cake.
"Thank you very much, this party is kinda cool…" She said with a sad sigh at the end. The kids didn't notice this change of attitude because of the dimly lit lights, barely showing her face.
"Make a wish." Hiromi told the two birthday kids. They both closed their eyes and Kayo gave Satoru the chance to say his wish out loud.
"I wish all my friends live happy lives." Satoru said and blew out the candles. They clapped with a few whistled, and Kayo outwardly sighed.
"I wish… a special someone were here to enjoy the party." Kayo said sadly while grabbing her red scarf. A few days ago, Satoru asked where she got the scarf from, to which she replied with:
"It was a gift from someone special…"
He took that answer like a grain of salt and said, 'Sweet.'.
She went to blow out her candles when two hands were placed on her shoulders. Looking up, she stared into cerulean blues who stared back.
"Make another wish." Naruto said with a grin, Kayo teared up, she wiped her eyes and turned around before embracing Naruto who gladly returned it. He kissed her on the head before pulling back, turning her around to the cake, and pushed her forward to face the cake. "Go."
Kayo giddily bounced on her toes. "Never mind, I have a new wish. I wish… that I have an amazing husband with two, or more kids to love and cherish." She wished while slyly glancing at Naruto who thought she looked at him to silently ask if it was a satisfactory answer.
He nodded without knowing her intention and she looked away with a scarlet face, thinking he approved of her wish.
Sachiko smirked, she knew Naruto was too dense to read Kayo's true intentions clearly. She just left it up to time, in due time everything will be revealed to them both…
Especially Naruto…
Hey! I heard that, I wasn't the only dense one in our 'situation'..; and do you remember what happened several years later with the shower?
…
Well?
…
That's what I thought, knock first before entering, you pervert!
(Hard ass slapping noise)
I'm gonna get a permanent handprint on my face if I keep annoying you.
You damn right, it kinda turns me on, seeing your red face with my handprint.
You perverted, sadistic woman!
(Another hard ass slap)
Whoops, here comes the swelling!
Kayo blew out her candles and everyone clapped for the girl, Naruto ruffled her hair while Sachiko turned the light back on.
*Whimper*
They kids collectively turned around to face a hot that was slightly moving from Naruto's foot. He grinned sheepishly before kicking the box and whispering a silent, 'Shut up!', his hushed whispers caused curiosity to build up in the kids eyes as they all gathered around Naruto. The taller boy sweated nervously as Kayo's big brown eyes stared back at him.
"Naruto-kun, what's in the box?" Kayo asked questioningly, Naruto scratched his head slightly and removed his foot before picking the box up. He slightly opened it before shielding it from Kayo and her friends.
"You have to close your eyes." She looked at him with a questioning glare before he realized it wasn't a good way to phrase it. "It's a surprise." He said and she playfully rolled her eyes and shielded them with her hands. She heard a bit of flipping and she heard Sachiko gasp. This made her confused, not much stuff could surprise Satoru's mother in a way for her to gasp in shock. She then heard the other kids gasp and she wanted to open her damned eyes.
"Now can I open them?" She asked impatiently, she wanted to see what everyone was yapping about.
"Ok… now."
She opened her eyes to see the fox they found a few days ago trying to scam food off them, Naruto stubbornly kept his food while Kayo gave all of hers to the dirty fox. Now that he was clean, she saw his once damp unkempt fur was now bushy and really soft, the dirt near his eyes was gone, showing that the fur around his eyes was black that reached up to his ears. He paws and a little further up was black to, while the rest of his body was oranger, his playful eyes were red, as if blood replaced its former color.
"Happy birthday Kayo-chan, this is why I took a while to get here, I had to buy a harness and a leash." The blonde semi-teen said as he put the fox down and un-clipped the leash from the black harness. The pup bolted for Kayo who opened her arms out widely, she hugged the fox, smelling the smell of Naruto's shampoo and conditioner.
Kayo smiled and looked at Naruto deep in the eyes, and uttered the simple:
"I'm gonna name him… Kurama."
After Naruto gave Kayo her present, he gave Satoru's much smaller present. The boy opened it to see a watch; he said thank you curtly. Everyone else gave their presents to the kids and Naruto just sat with Kayo, running a hand through her hair while she cuddled up with the small fox.
"This is the best birthday party I've ever had." Kayo said happily, she began crying out of happiness but Naruto and Sachiko knew the real reason why. She hadn't had a birthday quite on this level, and all the effort put into it was a lot on her standards.
Naruto wrapped an arm around her shoulder, rubbing it slightly.
After the cakes were cut individually, they silently ate it in the living-room while Naruto was outside on the balcony with Sachiko.
"She really likes you." Sachiko said while looking through the glass sliding door at the kids who were playing with the fox.
"Only the thing she sees." Naruto said. Sachiko gave him a blank, confused look.
"Huh? What's that supposed to mean?" She asked, the blonde sadly smiled.
"I've caused a lot of bloodshed in my life, 14 years of uncontrollable death." The blonde replied, Sachiko looked up.
"You know… Kushina was my best-friend, and my cousin." Sachiko said, this got Naruto's attention. "She would talk a lot about you, she'd say that you would beat up the kids who talked bad about her." Sachiko said and Naruto smiled fondly.
"Yeah, she was great." His mood turned sour. "That was until the accident." Naruto said and Sachiko hugged him.
"I read the news report, that wasn't your fault. You can't blame yourself for something that you couldn't control the outcome of, you can only control what comes next for you." She pulled back to rest her forehead to his, his blue eyes looking into her darker ones. "Remember that…"
"I will." Naruto said. They soon separated and Naruto left inside for the party with Sachiko following soon after.
Timeskip - March 12th 1988 (Kayo's departure) - A/U: I don't know the specific time she leaves, but I'll do what makes me comfortable.
Akemi Hinazuki stood in her daughter's room with everything looking tidy, she angrily trashed the room, throwing her books, pencil cases and and was about to throw her mini rubbish bin before hearing several knocks on the door.
"Okaa-san." The voice of Hinazuki's daughter woke Akemi up from her angry rampage. Stomping over to the door, she fiddled with opening the door but managed it open.
"KAYO! YOU LITTLE SHIT! Where have you been these last few days!?" Akemi demanded. "I Oughta beat the living..!" She was about to raise her hand to strike Kayo like once before, but the silhouette of two stopped her. The silhouette slowly grew as they gained more room. "You two…" She sneered. Sachiko and Satoru stood with hidden smirks. "I should've known…"
"Good morning, Ms. Hinazuki." Sachiko greeted, the blonde mother angrily stared at the two.
"I don't know what little show you're putting on - but how could you keep a mother away from her child, YOU BITCH?!" Akemi screamed. "I'll sue the shit out of you!"
"She's been gone for several days, did you ever stop your… activities to look for Kayo-chan?" Sachiko asked, Akemi stepped back in surprise as she didn't expect this reply in the slightest.
Truth be told, she hadn't gone out of her way to check at all.
"W-what?! Are you really t-trying to blame this on me? Make me out to be the bad guy? I'll show you!" She grabbed a shovel that was on display near the front door and went to attack the two people, but Kayo actually stepped in and halted her mother from her intentions. "Kayo?! Let go!" She struggled to detach Kayo from her.
"Do you think your daughter really wants to see you acting like this?" Sachiko asked cautiously and put Satoru behind her.
"Well, that's not my fault! You told me how piece-of-a-shit mom I was! Who do you think you are?!" Akemi asked, and she returned to remove Kayo from her person. "Kayo! Let go! You hear me, you little retard!?" She snarled as she finally got Kayo off herself. She didn't notice how loud her screaming was, as she just woke up a sleeping fox and his owner.
Naruto's house
Naruto was woken up by a commotion and he looked outside his window; pulling the curtain aside to glance outside. He saw Kayo's mother yelling at Kayo who stood there with a bag on, Satoru and Sachiko were slowly approaching the pair in sync.
Kayo had spent most of her time with Satoru's family, because they thought it was for the best, she insisted on staying with Naruto so she was close to her mother's residence but Naruto even said that she should stay with them, so that she was away from her mother, Naruto however kept Kurama in his custody because he enrolled the pup into care and was legally his now.
Kurama was sleeping on the left side of his bed.
He quickly put on some warm clothes and his shoes and ran outside when he saw her grab a shovel and went to swing it at Sachiko, but he made it in time and blocked the shovel with his arms, resulting in a long, semi-cut to appear on his arms, and his next instinct was to rip the garden tool out of her hands, to which he did.
"What are you doing, woman!?" The blonde screamed/asked angrily. She shakily pointed at the blonde with an angry scowl.
"You! You were the little snotty-nosed pissant that threw snow at me! You'll pay!" Ms. Hinazuki snapped. Naruto growled and got into a high guard boxing guard.
"Bring it on!" Naruto snarled and readily bounced on his toes. She went to slap him but Sachiko caught her hand and Kayo tackled Naruto over.
"I still don't think you trying to slap someone, especially someone younger than you, is setting a good example for Kayo-chan, Ms. Hinazuki-san." Sachiko said in a calculative tone. Ms. Hinazuki growled and pulled her other hand back and tried slapping Sachiko but the mother of Satoru was pulled back by the arm, courtesy of her son.
"Thank you, Satoru-kun." She said as she patted his head. Naruto tried pushing Kayo off so he could hit her mother.
"Kayo! Move! This bitch has to pay for her crimes towards you! And I'll be damned if you stop me!" Naruto shouted as he was full of so much rage towards that woman. "Especially you!"
"NO!" Kayo screamed at the top of her lungs, this ceased everyone's movements as she loudly wept in Naruto's chest. "I don't want you to get hurt…" Kayo cried out, Naruto stopped at this. It dawned on him, he was being so selfish and letting what he wanted drive his anger and not seeing what Kayo wanted, which was for him to not get hurt.
"I'm so sorry Kayo-chan… I was so caught up in what I wanted that I didn't see what you needed." Naruto said and hugged the sobbing girl who buried her face into his chest.
"Idiot…" Ms. Hinazuki muttered, she used the momentarily opening Kayo's scream gave her when everyone turned their backs and pushed over Sachiko before retrieving the shovel and raising it high, before a voice halted her movements:
"Ms. Hinazuki-san!" A voice full of authority sounded in the area, Gaku Yashiro, another man and a woman came into the scene with suits.
"Y-yes?" She stammered out. 'Why are they here?' She then looked at Sachiko and Satoru. 'Of course!'
"We're with the department of "Child Protective Services".., we'd like to speak to you regarding your daughter. Now we can do this the easy way or the hard way." The man said as he took a steady step towards the mother who dropped the shovel.
"Why?"
"It's come to our understanding that you are not a suitable company when it comes to Kayo Hinazuki, your constant avoidance of our questioning has forced us to get outside help." The elderly man said. "We've decided to take your daughter into our custody."
"What?! I'm not giving her up, you asshole! She's my daughter, therefore I have the last say in the matter!" Akemi yelled with a taunting smirk at the end.
"I guess you didn't get the memo when he said that he'll take her away." Naruto began to say as he rose from the ground and helped Kayo up. "Have you been so ignorant of the other houses that reside here? I'm across the street and I can still hear you wrecking that house because you have no one to hit." Naruto said with a scowl, Akemi narrowed her eyes.
"You little brat..! But, kidnapping is still illegal! You know what, fine… If we wanna go this way, I'll take her to the cops myself and tell them about this whole lightshow." Akemi screamed and went to grab Kayo but Naruto slapped her hand away.
"Don't touch her, she's not someone you can beat and throw in sheds!" Naruto hollered and got cut across the face by Akemi's long, sharp fingernails. There were red streaks of blood that poured down the side of his head.
"That's it!" Gaku Yashiro said as he walked to his car and pulled an old woman out.
"Kayo… come with me, now!"
Kayo's body told her to listen, but her mind told her to stay in Naruto's arms forever.
"Akemi!"
Ms. Hinazuki stopped her advances as she turned to face a woman wrapped in warm clothes.
"Okaa-san?" Akemi said quietly, her mother knelt to her hands and knees and began on a explanation that the outcome of Akemi Hinazuki turning into a bad mother was her fault, saying that her kicking Akemi out as a young pregnant woman with an abusive man wasn't the best idea and replying by saying she would take it all back if she had a second chance. Akemi just broke down and started crying.
While this happened Naruto and Kayo looked away, not buying what this woman was selling.
While her Okaa-san wept over her own mother, Kayo-hime and I looked away at the scene. We didn't believe she had a change of heart just like that, we deduced it was out of self pity.
*Door opening*
I'm back! Where are we now?
I'm helping you get ready to leave.
"Don't worry about Kayo-chan, I'll take great
Naruto came walking out of Kayo's house with some of her stuff that she might want to take with her. He saw Mr. Yashiro wipes his eyes from the heartfelt scene in front of him.
"Thanks, Mr. Yashiro?" Satoru said, the man stifled a laugh.
"No, because of your courage to help, we wouldn't have gotten this far. I should be thanking you; because of you, she's alive." He said, turning back around to face Satoru.
Something that man didn't sit right with Naruto, why would he think she would die?
'Nah! This guy is creepy A-F, I'm keeping my eye on you…' Naruto internally thought, he brought Kayo's bags to the car where her grandmother was. He placed them down and gave her a dashing smile.
"Hello Mrs. Okamura, I'm Kayo's friend who's been helping her out. I just live there." Naruto said brightly and the woman shook his hand kindly, a grandmotherly smile looking permanent on her face.
"Thank you..?"
"Naruto!"
"...Naruto, I'm sure hearing her mother abusing her was not the most pleasant experience…" She said, Naruto shook his head.
"Nah, I wouldn't hear anything besides on Saturday, but since I met her I would let stay at my house for a bit." Naruto said and the woman bowed.
"Once again, thank you." She said, and Naruto reciprocated the bow with his own.
"You have a safe trip." Naruto said and left to talk to Kayo. He saw her hug Satoru and let go before running up to him.
"Hey kid, looks like this will be the end." Naruto said a bit sadly, Kayo shook her head and Naruto was confused.
"Why don't you come with us, there's nothing keeping you here." Kayo pointed out, Naruto ruffled her head.
"Thanks, but I think it's better for you to just forget about me and this place." Naruto said, Kayo's eyes opened wide in shock, her hands felt wet from the sweat, her breath hitched.
"What?! But why?!" She asked crestfallen. Naruto just hugged her.
"I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it's true. It'll be better to forget about this place, erase it from your memories." Naruto said and pulled her back before slipping a piece of paper into her scarf that went unnoticed.
"But… I want to remember you." Kayo said teary eyed, and Naruto kissed her head.
"As do I, and I always will… but I'm somewhat a part of this place that keeps you trapped in your own world, never to experience the outside. Use this opportunity to learn." Naruto said and pulled back from the hug.
"Naruto-kun, I have something to tell you." Kayo saying this intrigued Naruto; he leaned forward.
"What is it?" He asked, Kayo lunged forward before capturing his lips in a tight lock. He tried pulling back but Kayo's arms were tightly squeezing his head, securely holding his head in place. The kiss lasted about 10 seconds before Kayo let the blonde go who almost instantly pulled back, a scarlet blush marding his face.
"I love you." Kayo said with a smile, Naruto hugged her and pulled back.
"Sorry Kayo-chan, but you're a bit too young for me." Naruto said, Kayo broke down into tears. "But maybe when you've seen the world and grown up a bit." Naruto said with a grin and kissed her cheek softly. Kayo held her pinky out.
"Promise?" She asked hopefully. Naruto took his finger with his own.
"Promise." Naruto said and smiled toothily. "And don't worry, I'll take good care of Kurama, and he'll be here when you come back." Naruto promised again, so now he had two promises. He escorted her to her car and closed the door; she placed her hand on the window and Naruto reciprocated the gesture with his own hand. He winked and waved as the car drove off, Satoru ran soonly after it and Kayo looked back, but not at Satoru but at Naruto.
He pointed at his scarf on her neck a few times and pulled something imaginary out. She did the same with her own scarf and pulled out a piece of paper, opening it she saw a ten digit number, guessing it belonged to the blonde, she turned it over and saw a message:
"Only call me when you get the address to your new home, I'll send letters to you." She read out loud and her grandmother smiled.
"He's a cutie isn't he?" She said teasingly. Kayo blushed with a smile.
"Yeah, he's pretty cute." She said.
Naruto walked and stood next to Sachiko:
"I was right, wasn't I?" She said cockily, Naruto grumbled and pulled 20 dollars out and she took it, making sure to count before stashing it away. She nudged him with her elbow. "That was a pretty good kiss, aye? I saw that you enjoyed it." Naruto blushed at her teasing.
"W-will you stop, I said that she's too young for me. And I said when she's a bit older." Naruto said, Sachiko smiled before ruffling her head.
"You know, that house could get a bit lonely with you all by yourself." Sachiko said, gesturing to his house.
"Your point?" He asked, she put his head into a headlock before nuggying him.
"My point is, come live with us, me and Satoru." She said and Naruto uncomfortably detached himself from her headlock.
"I don't know, Satoru can be jealous sometimes." Naruto said and Sachiko laughed while smacking her thick lips.
"I know, didn't I raise him well?" She said sarcastically, the blonde laughed at this and rubbed his hands together to warm himself.
"I'll think about it, I'm gonna go for a run." Naruto said, Sachiko waved him off while Satoru came running back to his mother.
"I have some good news, Naruto will be living with us." She said with a humor filled tone. Satoru fell face first into the snow before rising again, his face full of snow.
"How could you invite him to live with us without telling me?!" He asked/screamed angrily. She smacked his head.
"Don't talk that way about your cousin!" She snapped, Satoru raised an eyebrow and his mouth opened wide with shock.
"WHAT?!"
Timeskip
After Kayo departed, Naruto moved in with the Fujinuma family's home. Soon after, he put his house up for sale. He started working on bettering himself, he started by eating healthier, he'd no longer have ramen for an only meal, he'd go out for two runs everyday, one in the brink of morning and the peak of sunset.
Sachiko Fujinuma helped him with his education, he once was at the bottom of the class, and now he was in the middle and was slowly rising. The school noticed his sudden improvement as they didn't think it was possible that he could reach the top, but he was slowly advancing. The school board even thought of giving him a fitness scholarship when he enrolls in a high school.
Naruto had cleaned out his apartment, but secretly hid his important items there, he preferred them to live at his true home. He and Satoru slowly became friends as it was him who mostly helped out with homework and in turn Naruto would teach him how to cook, or draw.
Naruto and Sachiko were currently laughing in Satoru's face, he told him how he and his friends met a girl and she said their shenanigans were childish and for little boys.
"Wow, I bet you thought she was cute until she said that huh?" Sachiko said through a fit of laughter. Naruto joined in on the teasing.
"Yeah, I bet she pointed at your "hideout" out of the blue huh?" Naruto laughed, but no one else did. He deadpanned. "Oh wowwww, so it's bad when I say something. Noted!" He huffed.
They laughed and got to eating.
After eating Naruto and Satoru were in their separate futons, the blonde was shirtless as he didn't like sleeping in a top, it itched against his skin.
"Hey Naruto." Satoru called out from the otherside of their shared rooms.
"Yeah, what's up lil' man?" He asked and Satoru blushed at the thought in his head.
"Are you really gonna date Kayo when she comes back?" Satoru asked, and Naruto pondered on that question.
"I don't know… why? Do you like her?" The blonde asked and Satoru resisted the urge to shout out, 'You're 29! Get a grip!', but stayed silent.
"N-no, it's just, I want to kno-" Naruto shut him up with a question of his own.
"Let's change the subject, have you caught your murderer yet?" Naruto asked, Satoru was wide eyed and looking at the blonde in his futon. Suddenly he pieced all the points together that Naruto made, over the time of living with them, he would throw subtle hints that he knew who the murderer was, he even noticed the watch Naruto got him for his birthday, it had a weird pattern on it.
"What do you m-mean?" Satoru stuttered out, the blonde turned over to look at him, his piercing blue eyes bore holes into Satoru's own.
"You know what I mean." His cold reply made his blood run cold as the snow that was pouring out the sky. "Gaku Yashiro, he's your murderer." Naruto said and turned over.
"What?! Mr. Yashiro would never be the murderer, he's an amazing man and cares about his students, why would he kill them?" Satoru blurted out, Naruto turned back to look at him, a smirk on his face.
"So that's who's dying, his students. You know, your Okaa-san was right, you must be from the future." Naruto said, Satoru's eyes expanded to the size of saucers. His breath was cold and his blue eyes looked as though they would fall out. Naruto stepped out of his bed and walked to Satoru's before straddling his body, a knee pressed firmly into his chest.
"Look, if you're trying to be a wannabe-investigator, then you have to put your feelings for your teacher aside and see the big picture." Naruto said. "Remember that…"
Timeskip - March 22nd 1988
Naruto was on the phone at the park, Satoru was out with his friends, and Sachiko was at home cooking dinner.
"So, how's it living with your grandmother?" Naruto asked while he played fetch with Kurama, Kayo's voice came over the phone.
"It's going well, I go to a new school and I have new friends."
"That's great, so yeah, I've sent a letter to the address you sent me; it should come through in a couple days." Naruto said, he put a few photos of him and Sachiko baking and throwing dough at Satoru's face, Kurama and him fighting and then sleeping together.
"I can't wait."
"So, what are you up to?" Naruto asked curiously while he picked up the ball the fox returned to him and tossed it again.
"Well, I'm doing laundry right now while my Baa-chan naps. What about you, Naruto-kun?"
"I'm playing fetch with Kurama." Naruto told and kicked the ball in a random direction.
"That's good to hear. I miss you, a lot."
Hearing this made the blonde slightly blush, he had the decency to chuckle embarrassingly. "Same here."
"Naruto-kun, when can we be together?"
Naruto uncomfortably scratched his head and sat down on the hill at the park. Kurama situated himself in Naruto's lap.
"Maybe when you're older Kayo-chan, you're still a bit too young.
Timeskip - March 2nd 1989
Naruto was on the phone with Kayo. He, Sachiko and Satoru's friends along with Satoru sent her gifts prior to her birthday so they would arrive at her door on her birthday.
"Happy birthday Kayo-chan." Naruto said over the phone. He heard a giggle.
"Thank you Naruto-kun."
"Did you get the gifts?" Naruto asked.
"Yup, I got them, but yours had an extra photo. It was you, shirtless?"
He could almost feel the blush that crept on Kayo's face through the phone and grew confused and flustered. He didn't send a photo of him half naked. But then it hit him, Sachiko took photos of him when he was outside in the sunny weather.
"Damn Sachiko. T-that wasn't supposed to go to you, Kayo-chan. It was Sachiko who took a photo of me while we were going through a heat wave." Naruto said, somewhat calming himself down. He heard a sigh of disappointment but couldn't detect the disappointment.
"Naruto-kun, it's been a year."
Naruto knew this was coming but still didn't have an answer.
"Kayo-chan, I'm 14 while you're 12, I turn 15 in October. You're still a bit too young for me." Naruto said. "Maybe next year." Naruto said, the phone hung up and he placed it down with a sad sigh.
"Jeez, you can be tough sometimes." A voice said from the doorway. Turning to the owner of the voice he saw that it was his aunty.
"Hey, it's for the best. She's as stubborn as me." Naruto said and laid down in his futon.
"So you're leading her on?" Sachiko said in an angry tone. Naruto didn't care for the tone.
"Of course not, but knowing how she is, she'll probably still like me even in a couple years. If she loses this crush, then it'll be for the best for her." Naruto said, turning over so he could get some sleep.
"And if she doesn't?"
Naruto paused for a moment, what if she didn't lose this crush and kept asking him to be hers.
"I'm going to sleep." Naruto said.
March 2nd 1990
"Why won't you date me?"
"Because you're too young." Naruto said, she was 13 with him being 15 going onto 16.
"I don't care! I know what I want… I want to be yours."
"I'm sorry Kayo, but we can't be anything further than friends." Naruto's sincere voice echoed through Kayo's ears.
"Ok… when I'm old enough, you'll be mine, and mine alone."
"Promise, till you're 18, and I'll be yours, all yours." Naruto said and swore on it.
Timeskip - October 10th 1995
It was Naruto's birthday and the day Kayo will come back. They shared many conversations, most of them ending in the question of, "Can we date now?", to which Naruto would reply with a simple, "When you turned 18.", Naruto was 21 years old, it was his twenty-first birthday spent with the Fujinuma family who had grown to care for him dearly.
Naruto had graduated highschool two years ago at the middle of his class, he got his scholarship and milked whatever he could from it.
He was at the bus stop, eagerly waiting for Kayo to come back, she was 18 and in all honesty, he'd fallen for her. He didn't know why, but when she sent photos of her being happy, he felt a connection and couldn't stop thinking about her.
A red bus arrived and he watched as passenger after passenger until he saw a brunette with mid back length hair.
His breath hitched when he laid his eyes on her.
She was 5'4 with brown mid back brown hair, beautiful chocolate brown hues with a ting of mischief to them. She wore a white short sleeved blouse with a black choker on her neck along with a few hoop bracelets. She wore black leggings with semi-high heels, her nails were painted a dark maroon.
"Woah." Naruto gasped as he felt his mouth dry.
Kayo was turning her head to look for him and when she laid her eyes on him, she could honestly say she was holding herself back from taking him in the street.
Naruto was 6 ft tall with an athletic build, his spiky blonde hair was now more wild and longer, two side bangs that framed his head. His whisker marks were more thick and ragged, giving him a feral look. He wore a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up and the collar a bit open, he had blue jeans with white and black converse shoes.
"Wow…" Kayo gasped, she lunged for him and Naruto did the same. They met in the middle where they embraced each other with Kayo's head in the crook of his neck with him tucking her head into his neck with his chin.
"I missed you, Kayo-tan." Naruto whispered, he felt tears on his neck and light kisses on his neck, she moved up from his neck to his chin before stopping in front of his lips.
"I missed you as well, Naruto-kun." She grabbed the back of his soft hair and caressed his lips with her mouth. A light show went off in Naruto head, the thoughts going through his head was just,
'They're so soft!',
Or,
'She tastes like apples…,
Or,
'She waited for me…',
When that last thought registered in Naruto's mind, he kissed her back, bringing her body flush against his, with his hand on her lower back he kissed her with the ferocity of a raging lion. Kayo tried pushing him off but he kept her still while he continued his love-filled actions.
Stop lying! It went nothing like that!
What are you talking about? It did, you kissed me so roughly I almost came…
Idiot! That was you doing all that stuff, I was the one trying to push you off me because we were in the open and people were looking at us!
Oh…
Naruto struggled to push her off because Kayo held him in place while she kissed him. She then pierced her tongue into his mouth and started to play with his own tongue, while she probed his mouth he let her while he massaged her mouth appendage, eliciting a moan from the beauty.
Naruto pulled back with a string of saliva connecting him and Kayo together. He hugged her again.
"I… I love you, Kayo-tan." Naruto whispered, she did the same by wrapping her arms around his waist.
"Idiot… that's my line…" She said and nibbled his ear playfully.
Naruto groaned slightly before smacking her ass, resulting in a sounding, 'eep', she blushed. "No. Not in the open." He said and she pouted.
"Can you help me with my bags?" She requested, Naruto took her two bags while she pulled the suitcase.
Naruto's house
After Naruto graduated highschool at 18 years old, he saved up enough money to buy his former house back and was happy with how he refurbished it.
Once they stepped inside, poppers went off and Kayo saw a banner reading, "Welcome home Kayo!", Sachiko held a cake with Satoru holding whistles. His friends were the ones that made the poppers that shot confetti.
"WELCOME HOME! KAYO-CHAN!" They all screamed and Naruto had to cover his sensitive ears. Kayo excitedly greeted everyone, even while she spent a majority of her time with Naruto just making out on his bed in the basement, even though he was a grown man, he still lived in a basement.
Timeskip - A few years passed
Naruto and Kayo were in the hospital, she was getting a test to see if she was pregnant. They got married a year prior with Kayo proposing to him, to which Naruto rejected her before bending on one knee and presenting his deceased mothers ring to her, she excitedly said yes and she gave him probably the most passionate kiss ever with a night full of nothing but love-filled and lustful sex that "shook" the house to its very core, the next day they found their bed and room a complete wreck with Naruto apologizing a lot because of the massive creampie he dealt Kayo, he lunged at her when she dipped her finger inside her cum-filled pussy before enveloping it in her mouth. While he pounded her pussy she furiously apologized for her lewd action.
After their wedding Naruto and Kayo did all they could to become pregnant and today they decided to come in and check if their efforts were worth it, which they were.
Flashback end
A 27 year old Naruto held a very pregnant 24 year old Kayo who was caressing her huge belly.
"The end…" Naruto whispered and kissed his wife…
End
Damn, that took forever in my opinion. How was it? I tried pretty hard but not so much at the same time.
