2 days after the events of last chapter..

"Abyss, what the hell? Why a pillow in the face at like four in the morning?!"

"Get your ass up, sir. You get your volt weapon today."

Even as this amusing exchange was taking place between Cameron and Abyss just a quick drive up from West Genetics at the mansion rented to them by Gengo, back in the facility, two of the faculty there were discussing this years' class of Pandora. At the headmistress' desk sat Sister Margaret, and standing before her was Yu-Mi Kim, a graduate of West Genetics herself in the past and now an instructor.

"There are quite a few Class A Students this year.." Yu-Mi said to the headmistress. "There were even some Class SA and Class SS Students, not to mention Cameron's abilities and insane compatibility and stigmata count placing him in Class SSS. We can likely expect very, very great things from them this year, especially from the boy."

"Yes indeed," Sister Margaret replied. "We're lucky to have such gifted, and talented students, especially in the case of Cameron Spears. Especially since we have less volunteers now after what happened in the 8th Nova Clash. I will leave their volt weapon training to you, Instructor Kim."

Yu-Mi nodded. "Yes ma'am, Sister Margaret," she replied, and then turned and left the headmistress' office, leaving Sister Margaret deep in thought. Cameron was an especially interesting case, as even with those lightsabers of his which he was incredibly talented and well-trained with, there was a possibility that as a Pandora, he could also generate a volt weapon. If so, it would be especially interesting to see what he did generate, if he generated any volt weapons at all.

On the matter of if Cameron could generate volt weapons, she needn't have worried much about that part, for later on in class that day, Cameron did manage to generate his volt weapon when he tried the first time.

When he did, however, what he got managed to baffle everyone in the area where they were generating volt weapons with what he generated, baffling even himself.

At first, he seemed relatively confident that he was probably going to get something about just as lethal, if not more, than what the girls got. He was happy when Arnett generated a long, double headed scythe with an interesting twist being that the front blade was predominantly longer than the back blade, the weapon being called Scythe Machina. He was equally happy when Dolly managed to generate a double bladed sword with curved blades, known as Dual Slicer, and when Elizabeth generated a Type-SSS Volt Weapon which took the shape of a single floating satellite in a shape that resembled Stigmata called Asymmetrical Strafing.

When he generated his though, everyone was in for a complete surprise. Instead of something lethal, what Cameron got was.. just a skateboard that seemed a little bit bulkier on the underside, fitted with a rectangle shaped box on the underside and with a blue and red paint scheme on the top side with the words "Darren Navarette" in white outlined by yellow on the edges of the letters. It also had Velcro straps that seemed especially fitted to his shoe height attached on the top side as well, as well as a strap for carrying it on his back fitted to the underside of the skateboard as well.

"Are.. you.. kidding.. me..?" Cameron asked after a long awkward silence after he generated his volt weapon, which had turned out to be this. He was, for the most part, equally stunned, shocked, in total disbelief, upset, and confused at the same time.

"Um.. this is.. interesting" Yu-Mi said, walking over to the boy, who had slumped down to his knees, really looking very upset at what he had generated.

"Y-You're kidding? The ladies get powerful weapons and I get stuck with what people on this planet call a skateboard? This is ridiculous!" Cameron said, before he was hugged by Arnett, Elizabeth, and Dolly at the same time as he tried to stop tears from coming out of his eyes.

"Cameron, don't cry.. just be glad you did manage to generate a volt weapon.. even though it turned out to be this" Elizabeth just gently said into his ear. "It's going to be alright.. who knows.. it might actually be useful to you." As much as Arnett and Dolly were annoyed at Elizabeth just sweetly tried to calm the boy down - and at each other for hugging the guy that while they didn't like to admit it, both were starting to feel attracted to - with her own kind words, they understood what Elizabeth said and both of them tried similar tactics.

"Cheer up, Mr. Fearsome" Arnett said. "If a Pandora's volt weapon describes who they are on the inside, as the Instructor has said, then I think maybe.. it might describe you as a person as well."

"Yeah, Cameron. Cheer up" Dolly said. "None of us think that it's bad that you generated a skateboard."

While the other Pandora in the class may have disagreed, with Cameron's reputation, they knew it would definitely be smart just to stay silent, which helped the girls' efforts. Bit by bit, Cameron slowly stopped being sad and eventually, he spoke.

"So.. a skateboard then.. definitely not what I had in mind, but a volt weapon is a volt weapon, no matter what use it performs, I guess. So this should give me some sort of advantage, though judging by what I got, I stand to reckon that its use may not be offensive or defensive at first glance.." he said, and the revelation shocked everyone again. If what Cameron was saying was true, then it would completely redefine the definition of volt weapons. Either way, what had happened was clear in its implications. As if being the odd one out wasn't enough, Cameron Spears had generated a volt weapon unlike anything ever generated by a Pandora before. Win or lose, Cameron had once again managed to add depth to the mystery that surrounded him, as well as make the other Pandora in A Class, in which he was the only male member of, wonder if his volt weapon would help him or hinder him. With their first carnival now just under a week away now, they would not have very long to wait.
