Original Chapter Title: Aftermath Of The Spring Carnival, Part One

(A/N: This is sort of a mini-arc in itself, based around the rest of the fifth part of the "28th Class Arc", which the last chapter was based on, and the following finale chapter - that is, if you don't take into account the "Talent and Effort" two parter that comes after it, which I suspect takes place during 2064. I will also be using Chapter 65.5 of the original manga "Those Who Make The Rules" for this as well. I must admit, for all of the love I have for Freezing, there are honestly some parts of Genetics facilities that I just find stupid, and to be fair, this is coming from a history buff who is writing this fanfic. The part about orders from the Upperclassmen being absolute, as Marin Maxwell puts it, and whose quote saying that I will actually use in this arc, I personally just find it ridiculous. Like, to me, that literally just stands as a system that can be manipulated for abuses of power, and while Elizabeth is my favorite Freezing character, this is certainly one of those moments where I will stand more on my own view on the issue than her view. Apologies to Elizabeth and those who voiced her, but I stick to my own beliefs in this case. Anyways, hope you enjoy!)

West Genetics Hospital
20 minutes since the end of the last chapter..

"Hurry! Ready a blood transfusion, stat! Anyone who needs cellular regeneration goes to Block Number Two!"

"Yes sir!"

"ahhhh!"

The aftermath of Arnett's rampage was evident everywhere in that hospital. Pandora with wounds of all descriptions flooded the area to be operated on and patched up. Jesus Christ, the doctor thought to himself. Why did this year's Spring Carnival have to get this bad?

The sounds of someone walking up behind him stirred him from his thoughts.

"Umm.. Doctor.." a female voice said.

"What do you want?!" the doctor shouted annoyed, and turned towards the source. "Anyone with light wounds needs to be quiet and wait-"

He stopped the words dead in its tracks, because facing him was a certain Marin Maxwell, with her hand over her eye socket, missing an eye because of Arnett having cut it out of her earlier.

"My right eye was cut out during the Carnival.." she explained. "I tried dealing with it and waiting.. but it really hurts. Can you please give me some pain killers or something?"

The doctor couldn't really say much else. While he had his hands full, she needed to be treated now. "Y..Yeah. Come over here, quick" he said before turning around and hollering at a nurse behind him. "HEY!" he shouted. "Disinfect her wound for me!" The startled nurse nodded and quickly led Marin off to do just that.

Another nurse came up beside the doctor as he just sighed.

"Isn't this the Freshman's first carnival..? How on earth did things get this bad?" she asked.

"From what I heard.." the doctor replied. "There was one crazy nutjob out there. Apparently she practically killed all her opponents in combat."

"She?" the nurse asked. "The Cloaked Bulldozer didn't make an appearance?" By this point, over two weeks after the recent appearance of Cameron's sort-of alter-ego, the Cloaked Bulldozer had become an urban legend amongst people associated with Genetics.

"No.. none of the paramedics - or the injured Pandora - reported seeing him out there. It's just as well that he didn't appear - with his track record, things could have gotten a lot worse" the doctor replied.

The nurse sweated a bit after hearing that, knowing that someone else - not the Cloaked Bulldozer - personally caused most of the carnage.

"It would seem.." the doctor said. "..that we'll have to keep an eye on this year's crop of Pandora, for better or for worse.. especially if he eventually shows up.."

Two days later..

It didn't take long for the news of what had happened in there to spread around West Genetics.

"Sakurako, did you hear? The first year's spring carnival was nuts this year" said one Pandora to her friend while they were eating lunch in the cafeteria.

"Ahh~ yeah, apparently they even had to use the Stigmata Regeneration Machine" Sakurako replied.

"Who do you think it was that did all that?" Sakurako's friend wondered.

"Dunno, the video records of it aren't public yet, but from what I hear, it wasn't the Cloaked Bulldozer" Sakurako replied, causing her friend to look at her surprised.

"You're kidding? One of the freshmen Pandora did all that and not him?" her friend asked, shocked.

"Yep, from what I hear, that's who caused it" Sakurako replied, causing her friend to be silent for a moment as she ate her meal and processed the information.

"Someone cut up a ton of people after only being here for over two weeks, huh.." Sakurako's friend said after a while. "Sounds like someone I want to stay away from. I bet she's a total basket case."

"You got it all wrong, Eileen" Sakurako stated in a now more excited town. "That just means she's got a mind of steel! I can't wait to whip her into shape!"

Eileen just started sweating a little, at her friend's remarks. "You know.. you're way too excited about having juniors" she said to her friend.

Sakurako just shook her fist in joy. "So what if I'm excited?!" she asked. "We finally get to take out our frustration from being bullied all the time on someone!"

Just then, a first year limiter behind them shouted, "Lady Miyabi! Right this way please! I prepared you a seat!"

Into the cafeteria walked one Miyabi Kannadzuki, the 4th Place ranked first year Pandora from the spring carnival. If the three limiters surrounding her could already tell, she was having better luck at finding limiters, even as a freshman, because compared to Elizabeth, Arnett, and Dolly, the potential limiters, apart from a few exceptions who would pay the price in the coming days for their attempts, didn't have to worry about having to deal with Cameron. The Cloaked Bulldozer's reputation was by now, well-known amongst the limiters of West Genetics, and the unpaired ones for the most part, stayed away from trying to attract Arnett, Elizabeth, and Dolly because of him. It was the opinion of many that only those crazy enough to try it would attempt it, given Cameron's reputation and the stories about his rampage through Astrid's base.

As she ate her lunch, the limiter groupies around her all praised her repeatedly.

"Yes, it was truly such a shame, Lady Miyabi!" said one.

"If that Mad Dog, Mably, and Spears weren't around, you would have been in first place for sure" said another. "They must have cheated somehow to win! I'm sure of it!" This one was lucky that he was saying that when Cameron wasn't around, because the boy really didn't take kindly to people calling him a cheater when he knew it wasn't cheating, it was more just having good gear and being skilled in his use of the force.

"Ahh.. those three.." Miyabi said. "They were too scared to fight me, and I didn't think Mad Dog and Mably might secretly fight each other either, that is if Spears hadn't prevented it. They're nothing special."

"Yes, that must be it! They're a bunch of cowards!" shouted one of her limiter groupies.

"I didn't manage my time well this time around.." Miyabi admitted. "But I got the hang of it now. The winner of the Summer Carnival is all but decided! Who else but me, the Kannadezuki Miyabi, could possibly win?!"

"It's exactly as you say!"

"Glory to Lady Miyabi!"

The mood of the limiters who were falling all over themselves for Miyabi, as well as Miyabi herself, quickly changed however, when the sound of a familiar voice was heard in the cafeteria, the voice of a very familiar boy.

"If Miyabi wants to win, she first has to get past Arnett, Elizabeth, and me, and I think it goes without saying that getting past any of us, even one on one, is easier said than done. I say it would be more likely that Miyabi will be out of the top five by the end of next Carnival" said Cameron Spears, as he walked into the cafeteria alongside Dolly and Arnett, not knowing at the time that given what would happen later, his words would prove prophetic. Everyone was speechless, which was typical at the sight of the boy who was the Cloaked Bulldozer, but this time it was more so at the sight of the now newly nicknamed "Mad Dog".

"Is that.. Arnett Mcmilian?"

"I heard everyone who fought her got a piece of their body cut off, except the Mably girl and the Parnell girl, who along with the Mad Dog, got defeated by Spears in the end."

"I heard she didn't stop, even when her opponent admitted defeat."

"Really? Even though the fight should've been over?"

"She really is a Mad Dog, then.."

Then came the comment that annoyed Arnett the most, something that Cameron had already apologized for by this point.. more than once.

"But I guess those fangs of hers got snapped pretty easy, huh. I mean, Spears took her, Mably, and Parnell out with just one move, from what I heard, via that force of his."

Being close to Cameron, however, kept her stable as the three of them got their lunch, sat down at a table next to each other, and just ate in silence. At least until Dolly spoke up. "Did you really have to take out all three of us at the same time?" she asked, still a little bit annoyed.

Cameron sighed. "I told you all before, for the last time, yes I had to. The thought of watching you all rip on each other didn't really sit well with my stomach, especially with the thought of Arnett or either you or Elizabeth getting hurt" the boy replied.

"You're a complicated one, Spears. You know that?" Dolly retorted, and went back to eating her lunch. Cameron just sighed once again and did the same, just as someone sat down in front of Arnett.

"Can I talk with you for a few minutes?" the Pandora asked. Arnett didn't respond, except merely nodded.

"You're Arnett McMilian, right? Why didn't you attend the Seniors' meet and greet?" the Pandora asked.

"What's it to you? Why do I have to go 'cause some seniors invited me?" Arnett replied.

"You're as rebellious as they say.."

Arnett looked up, and snapped. "What's your problem? QUIT YOUR-"

She paused in the middle of it and her eyes went wide. Sitting in front of her was a bandaged up Marin Maxwell.
