This was where "Us Against the World" gets...Played!
Following PE, I watched as Charlie Brown walked up to Rolf, asking him if he could join the Urban Rangers.
Rolf thought it over for a moment, then, extended his hand, saying. "Welcome aboard!"
Seeing that Charlie Brown was in, I smiled as they shook hands, then went to the office, leaving them to get aquainted..
As I have learned from day one, 7th period consist of free time during the last half hour of school. But on Fridays, we get to watch movies. And I was fortunate enough to share one of my own, "The Great Mouse Detective," inside Mrs. Greenberg's room.
During the viewing, we saw that Eddy had set up a "Watch the Movie of the Week" booth outside.
But as he did so, the sound of a cleared throat got his attention.
Eddy turned to see Daniel standing by the booth with a detention slip in his hand.
Knowing that he had been caught, Eddy tossed his booth into the Art room.
By the start of week two inside Bowditch, I no longer felt uneasy with my new surroundings.
On the way to math class with Odette, I called to the Eds upon seeing them.
"Hey!"
"HI, NATHAN!" Ed called and waved back, only to have his hand slapped down by Eddy, who shoved him and Double D back inside Mrs. Kelleher's room.
The cold stare in his face made me think Eddy was not over his grudge against me after what happened last Thursday.
Odette comforted me as we went on, not noticing the Crust Cousins and Kevin watching us.
Later that same day, during lunch, I was sitting with my new friends when the sound of the bugle got our attention.
The Urban Rangers came up to us and stepped back, revealing their newest member…Charlie Brown!
As everyone clapped, cheered, and congratulated him, Charlie Brown gave me a thankful hug, which I gave back.
Far away from where we are, Lucy watched in anger when she noticed Joe Cool a.k.a. Snoopy walking past her.
She grabbed him by the ears and was about to hurl him out of Bowditch when she saw us frowning at her.
Reluctantly, Lucy set Snoopy down, letting him sit in our table.
The next day, Odette saw me entering Room 42 and handed Mrs. Edelschein her camera, which she used to take pictures of the both of us.
On Thursday, Daniel was looking over the paperwork when he noticed Odette walking with me outside the office, stopping when she noticed him too.
The Crust Cousins were stunned at what they were seeing.
Odette stared at Daniel for a moment, then caught up with me.
Tiff sank her teeth onto the paper she had in her hands, tearng it up in furious jealousy.
On Friday, I hurried downstairs, putting the VHS of "Treasure Planet" in my backpack, passing by SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs, who had noticed the changes that had been happening this week.
"YEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!" Squidward howled when Patrick accidentally poured hot coffee in his lap.
Once my mom parked outside of Bowditch, I jumped out of the car, hurrying to Room 42, greeting everyone on my way, as well as waving to the Eds.
Double D and Ed waved back. Eddy just stood there at first, but then, he waved a little.
Seeing that he was slowly coming around, I returned the wave to him while arriving at Room 42.
Kevin and the Crust Cousins watched from outside the office, frowning, as Odette and I went inside the classroom.
"Mandork better be finished with that thing soon." said Kevin.
"See that he does." ordered Brit.
"Yeah," agreed Tiff. "Even if it means no breaks."
