Jade: Who Did It to Trina?
Jade was glad that Cat had forced her to come to Tori's play, even though she could have gone without having to stay in Lane's office for so long. After they all agreed that what had happened to Trina was an accident Cat invited her to a sleep over at her house. Seeing that Beck wasn't there and she hadn't talked much to her best friend last week Jade agreed.
It was good to spend time with Cat again and she even talked her best friend into watching a movie with her that wasn't about unicorns. When the movie ended Jade turned to her laptop, knowing that Beck would call any minute now. The moment his face showed up on the screen she smiled. Cat, who sat next to her on the bed, happily waved at Beck in greeting.
"So what did I miss?"
"You have to watch the video that I posted on The Slap, it's hilarious."
"I still think that it's bad what happened to the poor ranch house." Cad added.
Beck looked confused, but agreed to watch the video later. Jade liked spending time with Cat, but right now she wished that she was home so she could talk to Beck alone for a few minutes. As if Cat had read her thoughts she stood up.
"I'm going to make us cupcakes. Bye Beck." And with a smile at Jade she was gone.
Jade mirrored her smile. Cat wasn't her best friend without a reason. She seemed to know that the couple wanted a little bit of privacy and without saying anything about it gave it to them. It was amazing that Cat understood her so well, but then again her best friend was one of the few people that seemed to know how special the relationship between her and Beck was. Most people judged them and thought that they didn't fit together, but Cat saw how much they meant to each other.
When she turned back to Beck, he asked her why Andre texted him that a girl named Keeko was mad at him for not coming to a date. Jade rolled her eyes and told him about everything that had happened in Lane's office.
"Seems like I really need to watch that video."
"You should, it has so many clicks already. So how are things in Canada?"
Thankfully Beck was only in his home country for the weekend because one of his old friends was celebrating his birthday, but Jade still wasn't happy that he was gone again. He had been so often in Canada the last few months that she slowly got annoyed with it. Sure, it was important to him to see his relatives who lived there and a few of his old friends, but wasn't she important as well?
Later when Jade ended the video chat and Cat returned with the cupcakes the two best friends talked and Cat immediately noticed that something was bothering her.
"You miss Beck, don't you?"
"I'm more worried about the Canadian girls there." She wasn't serious and Cat knew that, but her next words were thoughtful. "He spent a lot of time there the last few months."
"I'm sure that he would take you with him if he could."
It always amazed Jade how Cat could pick up on the real meaning of her words when she tried to hide what she was really thinking. Her best friend knew her too well and her words calmed Jade down a little. When Beck was back he would surely not go to Canada for a while and they could spend their evenings in his RV again.
Beck: Who Did It to Trina?
Beck was spending his weekend at a friend's house in Canada for Moose's birthday. Kyle had offered him that it was alright if he crashed on his couch for the three days, so Beck had agreed. The first thing he realized when he opened his suitcase was that he had forgotten his laptop. Sighing he called Jade and asked her to send him his script for Sikowitz's class in an email. Surely Kyle would lend him his laptop. When he hung up he saw his friend leaning against the door frame, the pizza they had ordered in hands. The two sat down and ate while watching a football game when suddenly Kyle spoke up.
"You told your girlfriend your password for your laptop?" Now it was obvious to Beck that his friend had stood there during the whole phone call and had heard everything.
"I did a while ago and my The Slap password as well." He shrugged.
"Aren't you afraid that if you two fight she will delete your scripts or post strange things on your account?"
True to be told Beck had never thought about that. For one Jade would never ruin his scripts, they both loved art too much to even consider that. As for his The Slap page, he wasn't worried either. With the exception that Jade had once posted that she was the best girlfriend, she had never done anything with his account.
"No, I trust Jade and she trusts me with her passwords as well."
While his friend looked surprised by that Beck was confused why that shouldn't be a normal thing to do in a relationship. Trust was important and exchanging passwords was such a minor thing, considering how much he trusted Jade. It was hard to tell people about Jade, not because he didn't have enough good things to tell about her, but because most people didn't really understand their relationship. Jade meant everything to him and they told each other important things. Only a few people were able to see the special bond they shared and Kyle had never seen him and Jade together.
The next day, before they had to go to Moose's birthday party, Beck video chatted with Jade. It seemed that a lot had happened today that he had missed. Tori's play hadn't turned out too well and after he ended the video chat he watched the video that Jade had posted. Poor Trina and of course poor ranch house. Kyle, who had watched the video over Beck's shoulder, shook his head amused.
"Your school is really crazy. Maybe I should come and visit you, after all I never met Jade personally."
"Of course, you can visit whenever you like." Beck agreed. He liked the idea of his childhood friends meeting Jade. When his girlfriend and him had spent their summer here last year she had only gotten to know his family, but the next time she would come with him again he would introduce her to his friends. He was proud to have such a wonderful girl by his side and after his friends would get to know Jade a little bit more he was sure that they would like her as well.
Later on the birthday party when he congratulated Moose, his friend asked him about his girlfriend. After all the years he was already dating Jade, Moose never once remembered her name, despite Beck always telling him, but it was nice that he ask anyway. Maybe it was really time that some of his friends would visit him in L.A.
On Sunday he came home late, because his plane was delayed. When he entered his RV he saw Jade asleep on his bed. Obviously she had tried to wait for him. Beck knew that they had agreed to spend at least the evening together, because he had been away the whole weekend, but now that plan was out of the question. The last few months he had been in Canada a lot and he knew that she missed him every time and he did too. After changing he lay down next to her and pulled her into his arms. He wouldn't leave for Canada any time soon again.
