A Happy Devil and Truthful Angel
Previously on a Human Touch.
The Snap of a tree branch gained their attention as they all faced a dark-cloaked figure approaching them. A glowing blue energy glowed from her eyes. The tree quickly got to their feet and weapons ready for a brawl there was no question as to who this was. The feeling of lighting made them know who this was and they dreaded who it was.
"Icarion," Angron said, her empathic powers feeling a wave of hate that would have matched hers when she had the butcher's nails. Icarion was here for the blood of all those who watched her Madrigal be destroyed, the homeworld she loved and was raised in.
"Hello sisters," Icarion said, and then her hand revealed the long power spear known as Thunder Child. "And goodbye."
In a blinding flash, she stomped out the fire and sliced a spear around herself. Making the three jump back. Konrad tried to use her future style but was met with painful shock bringing Konrad to her knees. Her eye fluttered open to see Icarion smirking at her. Konrad could tell by Icarion's smile she was behind this.
"What did you do!" She yelled.
"Learn this Konrad, the great infinite future will always be in my hands!" Icarion said then in a flash of speed. She slashed at Konrad.
Konrad quickly brought her armored gauntlets and was flung back. Landing on the ground her dark eyes glowed with hatred. Icarion stood ready for the others as the blue gem on her forehead sparked with a blue light.
"And it looks like the end too your future is here!"
The battle of the world tree began. It was up to these brave few to find their lost siblings, and unfortunately, they did. They found someone who
had malice and reason to hurt the others. On a lilly pad words were thrown and challenges made.
High in the sky a battle of legends was taking place, and Lorgar held her weapon tightly. Magnus had just ripped out that black arrow that pierced her shoulder. The material that entered her body was some fungal bacteria, that somehow nullified her psychic abilities but more than that and most of all suppressed her soul.
The Black arrow lay on the ground as the lost sister prepared another shot, as she drew her string bow back at incredible speeds. Lorgar rushed forward, as she was more armored and ready to fight. Still, she was so shocked that Malayalam would cause any violence, even if Lorgar was the aggressor who started the altercation.
The old Malayalam that Lorgar knew would do anything to try and make peace. Lorgar was swiftly pushed back, as Malayalam performed an excellent jump kick that propelled her into the sky. She shot another Arrow into Magnus who this time was able to catch it.
In a quick step of action, Mangus held her fingers out and shot blue lighting from her red fingertips. Malayalam weaved through oncoming bolts of energy. Magnus brought her weapon close to guard herself as Malayalam dropped kicked into Magnus who was pushed back greatly.
The sorceress used her psychic might to hold Malayalam still.
Malayalam felt her body hit the leafy ground, as purple rings of energy surrounded her arm muscles. Malayalam could feel the leather surface below as her arms and legs were restrained but Malayalam.
"Enough!" Magnus shouted as her voice changed the weather, dark thunder clouds gathered around them. Lorgar was ready to help with restraining Malayalam.
"Your defiance ends here, and you will understand your circumstances." Magnus proclaimed, her eyes showing nothing but pure annoyance at this whole situation. With a swift hand clapped around Malayalam's neck Lorgar pinned her down.
"GET OFF ME YOU LOYALIST HOUNDS," Malayalam yelled with vicious malice. Magnus walked towards Malayalam with anger in her steps.
She held her hand readying a simple sedation spell, it would render Malayalam unconscious. Magnus glanced at Lorgar, her gaze already telling what she was going to do. Lorgar nodded and was devastated that it had to come to this, but she would not risk her shadow Angel's life.
"I'm sorry it has come to this," Lorgar said.
Malayalam showed her teeth and glanced behind her, This was the gaze Lorgar was familiar with, now being hit with a wave of nostalgia. Lorgar lips quivered in pain.
"I'm sorry sister but I won't go back," Malayalam said as another pair of arms that were hiding beneath her cloak shot forward, and reached around grabbing Lorgar's arms and throwing Lorgar off herself. Magnus was taken back by a Malayalam new pair of arms, It looked to have been a mutation, probably when they lost her corpse in the warp storm.
Lorgar's jaw dropped seeing these extra limbs, seeing a medical mutation on one of the Imperium's greatest medical doctors was insulting to the old Malayalam she knew. The arms were below her other set. but were hidden very well in the dark cloak she wore.
Magnus reached out her hand, shooting a wave of blue energy. this spell she summoned, made her shadow eye visible for the outside world to see. In a great display of power, reality was breaking at her fingertips as a stream of energy blasted Malayalam into her chest, She held her ground as this infinite energy was burning her hands and chest, but she persevered through it showing just how durable she was. Magnus kept her onslaught on her.
Malayalam clothes were starting to char as her tan skin was burning away, revealing red flesh. Malayalam pale skin and red eyes gave her an almost vampiric look.
"Stop this madness," Magnus said as she hated the action she was committing. This harsh and destructive attack was not what Magnus wanted. She should have used the sleeping spell but seeing her sister like this prompted a violent attack out of her. Then Malayalam in great feet of strength, leaped towards Magnus tackling her to the ground. Magnus felt four sharp pains hit specific parts of her body. Her lower back, her upper and lower abdomen. The final stab was aimed at her neck. Malayalam leaps away from Magnus now standing with her bow and arrow in her hand. Lorgar was about to charge right towards Malayalam.
Lorgar stopped when he heard a loud cough. Lorgar swiftly turned towards Magnus as her eyes widened in horror. Magnus was brought to her knees as there were four black arrows stabbed at specific spots in her body. Black lines spread through Magnus's body as she was paralyzed by this unknown poison that entered her body.
She couldn't move, and her red flesh began to tear at itself. Magnus yelled in pain feeling like her soul was being pinned down to the ground and Punched by knives. Blood began to leak from her lips and eyes as Magnus was forced to the ground.
Magnus tried to use her warp ability but she couldn't, it felt as if a thousand blank hands were holding her down. While every feeling was dulled and shut down.
"MAGNUS!" Lorgar yelled as she ran over to check on her sister. A black arrow cut off her path stabbing the ground in front of her. Lorgar swiftly turned around to see Malayalam pulling her bowstring with another black arrow pointed right at Lorgar.
"She'll be fine Lorgar, Well she's still in great pain," Malayalam commented. Lorgar faced her mace-ready. "The arrows that are jabbed into her suppress her ability, I stabbed her in spots where her body will shut down in five seconds and shall be incapacitated,"
Magnus fell to the ground, her eyelids half closed and her body not moving. This once-great being is now defeated. Even her size started to regress back to her true self. While Malayalam injuries slowly healed.
"I still need her to be hostage, You know Magnus was that monster's favorite, I doubt even he would dare go after me when I have his back battery, for that damn chair of his,"
Lorgar was flabbergasted at this, Lorgar could only say one thing to describe all this, to call her once beloved. A description she would never use so lightly. Magnus tried to move again but failed miserably.
"I can't move or fight, damn it, I can even cast a spell, these arrows our sucking me dry." Magnus thought. Malayalam could see how their red sister wasn't giving up so she decided to teach her current situation.
"Those arrows are made out of a material that subdues psychic powers. I was worried you were Icarion, She has been trying to kill me for a while, but those arrows are made from a special black bark at the roots of this tree, very useful to take off witches like you,"
"This…This… This is heresy, THIS IS HERESY!" Lorgar shouted from the top of her voice, that it even rivaled the sound of thunder around them. Malayalam had paused at the words. Then her lips cracked into a smile.
"HAHAHAHAHA HERESY, I guess that makes me a heretic," Malayalam said, making Lorgar absolutely confused about Malayalam expression. Malayalam drew her bone again.
"Listen to me Lorgar, Mark my words the world you loved to build to a false god, it will all fall, for one day you'll be kneeling to your father while your homeworld burns and you'll be able to do nothing," Malayalam said showing a dull and unhappy voice. Lorgar gritted her teeth at how her sister could say such things. How twisted Malayalam had become, she charged her way of healing to surgeries of pain.
Malayalam fired an arrow, and Lorgar quickly held up her armored gauntlet. Blocking the attack, however, with great haste, Malayalam punched Lorgar across the face sending her a couple of feet away and slipping off the giant lily pad that was on top of this massive world tree. Lorgar glanced at Mangus who was still incapacitated on the ground.
Malayalam let out a wicked laugh, as she walked forward with a graceful stride. Making sure she passed Magnus and patting her head. in a mocking manner.
"Why are you even trying?"
"What?" Lorgar asked in confusion as she was trying to pull herself up from the leafy floor.
"We both know you are the weakest link and a great chain of unbreakable sisters you are unfit for combat. Any duel would be a mockery. Not to mention a blind zealot to see even her own religion as falling from Grace, no thanks to your Idiocracy of wanting to find the so-called truth. But I'll be happy to give you one truth today You're going to lose this battle, and I'm going to take my hostage," Malayalam said in a wicked manner, her hand hovering over the quiver of her arrows. Lorgar gave a quiet grunt and narrowed her eyes.
"I will bring you back to our father's light!" Lorgar said, taking charge. "FOR THE EMPEROR!"
While Lorgar was alone she would not give up or waiver, today she would fight with all she had. Lorgar leaped into the air her mace ready to strike but hit nothing as Malayalam dogged out of the way. Malayalam laughed at Lorgar's attack.
"It seems you are still rusty on combat, you would make that damn father of yours cry!" Malayalam yelled

"We both know you are the weakest link in our great chain of unbreakable sisters you are unfit for combat. Any duel would be a mockery. Not to mention too much of a blind zealot to see even her own religion as falling from Grace, no thanks to your Idiocracy of wanting to find the so-called truth. At the bottom of the tree, Konrad was pushing against Icarion as the spear thunder child was being pushed on her gauntlets. Konrad and Icarion gazed at each other, However, Icarion was the one lost in madness as Konrad was in fear, not being able to see her opponent's attacks.
In some manner of power, Icarion was capable of controlling what Konrad was seeing and right now. Konrad was left in the darkness of the unknown. There were hundreds of visions she would get in combat, It was what allowed Konrad to make the illusion of winning for Issei. That victory was all planned by her, though Issei's cunning did get her she played it carefully to not wade suspension but now she was blinded. Their weapons crashed against each other as Icarion smiled at Konrad.
"What the matter butcher, Can't see what's ahead," Icarion laughed. Konrad gritted her teeth and narrowed her eyes. Like was like trying to cut Icarion with her glare.
"Silence," Konrad said. Throwing back Icarion she recovered quickly with her footsteps. Konrad threw her window makers at Icarion, a pair of throwing knives that were sharp enough to cut into space marines. How Icarion caught the blades in one hand, like catching a house fly.
Angron and Fulgrim now charged Icarion from both sides. Fulgrim with her speed was obviously going to strike first. She swung Fire Brand at Icarion, though Icarion easily predicted the attack, and side-kicked Fulgrim in the gut pushing her back.
Icarion had a sly smirk knowing Angron would attack next, she found the idea of Angron attacking humorous. Icarion even in the past never looked at Angron with high hope, seeing her as a dog that needed to be put down. Too bad the Emperor would never allow such a mercy, he would use a tool until it broke.
"Well let's see how the dog bites, I won't even need to look into the future for this, I can read her movements a mile away." Icarion thought. She turned her head towards Angron who was already preparing her first strike with her chain ax. Icarion dogged the first attack and lowered her body, she moved her spear toward Angron's abdomen.
Icarion held a wicked smile and looked up at Angron's face hoping to see a fury, but when Icarion turned her head up she smacked across the face by the flat side of Angron's left axe. Icarion was flung back as part of the face was cut.
She quickly landed on her feet and stared at Angron as her face wound healed. Icarion was shocked seeing Angron's front. There was no rage or malice only a very calm visage. Icarion was beyond words at what she was seeing. Angron was completely calm and her eyes showed no frustration. Icarion felt like she was looking at a new person.
"I'll end this quick," Angron said bolting towards Icarion, her steps stead and her target lock. Icarion blocked the two chain axes that slammed down on her spear. Angron with strength pushed down on Icario, her spear that she held up was being pushed down. As Angron stared Icarion with a calm gaze.
Icarion thought she was fighting against Vulkan's strength, what had happened to Angron.
"Is something the matter Icarion you seem a bit distracted today," Angron said, right before she head-butted right into Icarion nose breaking it. She stumbled back only to be wailed by Angron's axes.
Angron made a personal note to use the flat sides of her weapons, they needed Icarion alive, and she had more value in that manner, Angron would not want to kill a sister, especially one whose pain she understood. Icarion felt a giant punch collide with her face. Icarion wasn't slow by any chance but Angron had become faster, her movements harder to read and energy different. This was no gladiator who tore into her opponent as fast as she could but a new fighter.
"If you think I only won most of my battles with strength, then you're more of a fool than I thought!" Angron said like she had answered Icarion's question in her mind. Icarion was at a loss for words.
"How did she know that!" Icarion thought as she charged in with her spear. Only for it to be caught in Angron's hand. The knocked back with another swift punch to the face. Icarion held her face as her jaw was broken.
Angron stood with a disappointed frown. Icarion could only stare at Angron with dagger eyes.
"I won and became that bloody champion through my strength and most importantly my cunning," Angron said giving the perfect time for Fulgrim to appear behind Icarion and push her blade through Icarion's back.
Icarion was in shock at what Fulgrim did. A backstab was something that the prideful Fulgrim would never do. The idea of a cheap tactic should have sickened Fulgrim but no she was as calm as Angron. Something was happening here, there were dark forces at play to make her sister like this. What could soothe Angron and humble Fulgrim? Not even the Empower could pull off such a feat. Icarion felt the blade pull out of her back as she fell to the ground. Her wounds were already feeling but she knew there was no more holding back her true power. The power that their father feared, while she was down Angron and Fulgrim kept their guard up.
Konrad could only look on as she didn't want to get in the way of the combat.
"I may not have the power to call forth my warp form but I am more than enough," Fulgrim thought.
Angron meanwhile was reading her emotion to calculate Icarion's movements, though she could feel that Icarion was up to something right now, and if not handled quickly, it could lead to more major problems.
Icarion took a deep breath as the gem on her forehead began to glow a bright blue light. Angron reached for Icarion but was too late as the matriarchs in the area, were blinded by the glow. Even Konrad felt her skin burn at how bright it was, due to her light-sensitive skin. Icarion smiled as all of them could hear a whisper in their ears.
In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war...
All of them could see was black.
Angron's eyes snapped open, but all she could see was a red sky above her vision. Her hands touched the ground only to feel the familiar touch of bones under her hand, as she awoke in a giant pile of skulls. Angron jolted up and gave a horrified look at the site as she was in the land of blood and skulls. She never wanted to return to this feeling of murder but now she was surrounded by it.
"What's happening!" Angron said in panic.
"You.."
Angron spun around to see a figure pull themselves out of the skulls.
"You did this…"
Angron's eyes shook as she could see who dug out of the skulls. It was Issei with rotting flesh and dead eyes. He moved his head like a puppet on strings, he poked his decayed finger at Angron.
"No Issei I would never hurt you-," Angron tried to say not believing what she was seeing but was cut off as more faces of her past pointed at her.
"No stop I didn't mean for this, please-" Angron was cut off.
"My followers don't beg," A loud demonic voice said behind her. Angron turned around to see a mountain of thrones made of skulls and blood.
Angron was being made to not be afraid but at this moment, Angron was terrified to her core as a great red being of chaos watched her with flaming eyes, that burned like the sun. Angron wanted to scream but failed as she felt despair enter her heart, soul, and mind. This was the god of murder and he wanted something back.
Angron fell to her knees and closed her eyes wanting this all to go away. Thinking she had done the worst and harmed the one she loved. The lone gladiator and lonely child of the mountain cried at the reality she was in. begging to be held by Issei only to know that his arm wouldn't be around her anymore.
Angron could feel something coil around her neck as a giant chain dug into her skin pulling her into the river of blood. Angron reached out with a desperate plea only for more chains to appear and drag her back. Angron was now living her worst reality; being enslaved as everyone around her was gone.
The giant being and its black smoke-like body covered the sky. Angron couldn't breathe or scream as the world around her turned black.
"No one escapes the blood god!"
Fulgrim woke up standing, her vision could only see a gray and black cloudy sky, It was smoke from a battlefield, and Fulgrim could feel and see the ground under her was marked with tank tracks. The air filled with the smell of gunfire and death. Fulgrim was confused at where she was not remembering how she got here. Taking one foot forward passing the bodies that littered the ground. Her eyes caught onto a site ahead.
She stepped on one body that got her attention, Fulgrim eyes widened in horror as these were the bodies of Iron Hands Astartes. Fulgrim gazed at the thousands who lay dead.
"What is this!" She said in terror How could so many of Ferrus' soldiers be dead? She rushed past the battlefield, seeing Leman Russ tanks smashed and impaled on metal spikes. War Titans lay motionless on the ground. The blood of guardsmen seeps out of the dirt as Fulgrim steps into the ground. There was more horror as many of the space marines, lying dead on the ground for salamanders, Raven guard, and even her own Legion.
This was a nightmare for the imperium. Fulgrim was lost as the sound of the loyal Champion of the emperor screamed in desperate pleas for help. Fulcrum stopped when she saw herself holding the head of her dear beloved sister, Ferrus Manus.
This Fulgrim she was guessing was a crying mess and lost in despair. The Nightmare Fulgrim looked towards the other one holding her sister's head. Fulgrim questioned how Ferrus could fall. Did she do it, was she the cause of this destruction?
"Please help me put her back together." The nightmare Fulgrim said.
Fulgrim backpedaled at the site, She tripped over her wrong footing and landed on her back she couldn't hold in the screams of anguish. Losing Ferrus to a battle that she could not foresee drove the matriarch into such twisted pain. She let out a terrified wailing. She shouted to the air wanting her voice to be heard by some divine heaven above to pull her from this world of death. The hope she had for a perfect world shattered right in front of her.
"STOP THIS MADNESS!"
Konrad opened her eyes to see Angron and Fulgrim lying in a comatose state, both whispering to themself. Icarion gave a slight cough as she stumbled back to her feet. Konrad got to a defensive stance and glared at Icarion. Konrad could tell that Icarion had some part in this scheme happening in front of her. She could see that mad joy in Icarion's pure white eye like she had gotten away with making trouble.
"What did you do to them?" Konrad asked in a harsh voice. Icarion smiled and gazed at Konrad.
"They're only getting a harsh truth of our future to come, you see I control what you see about the future I only showed them the more possible fortune for them, They just couldn't handle the truth, but in the end, they're both monsters who will be alone just like you," Icarion said with a cold calculated tone of voice like she was a machine.
Icarion smiled at Konrad, thinking she had nothing to fear from this creature in front of her. She dragged Thunder Child across the ground.
"I must say you all changed over time, Angron looking, well less angry, and Fulgrim hasn't even bragged about herself yet, You all certainly changed, to whom do I owe this gratitude? Well, I shouldn't give my gratitude, more of the tip of my blade, This person certainly made my fight harder," Icarion said though Konrad heard the sarcasm in her voice.
"I know it wasn't the Emperor, a father like him who could ever take care of a child, no Someone else did this. You gonna tell me who?" Icarion said. Konrad had a silent gaze on Icarion as that legendary, matriarch aura collided with Icarion as the air around them became cold.
"No," Konrad said quietly. The thought of putting Issei at any risk at all disgusted her. Konrad would protect the one she loved, and her fellow sisters as well. This was justice she was fighting for. Konrad was going to do the right thing and bring her sister back alive.
Icarion took a step forward, Konrad in her defense tried to use her future side to see what her opponent's next move was. however, she saw nothing and she couldn't see past the present.
Icarion made the first strike slashing upward, and Konrad leaptout of the way. In the battle of speed, it belonged to Icarion she was the second fastest among them. While Konrad was more agile, she still had to be very careful; with one wrong step, it would end her life. Konrad couldn't make a defensive counter, for she feared what the consequence could be if she were to end up too close.
Icarion kept slashing and pushing forward at Konrad. Konrad soon became familiar with the pattern of Icarion's attacks, seeing how they became more about hitting Konrad's arms and legs.
This proved to be Konrad's downfall as Icarion, had made Konrad fall into a motion of repeating her action. Icarion pulled back her spear and longed it forward targeting one of Konrad's Hearts, in a narrow maneuver. The night Lord was able to only be grazed by the spear.
Konrad now saw her moment of attack as she ducked low and charged at Icarion. Konrad felt she made the wrong choice as her eyes darted up to see Icarion plunging down her spear at Konrad's back. She quickly tried to push away but Icarion could see that with her future sight, and stabbed Konrad in the upper right shoulder pinning her to the ground. Icarion wanted to make Konrad suffer past crimes, all of it that was under the uncaring eye of their father.
Konrad coughs a mountain of blood. She tried to pull herself up but the spear had punched to the wooden ground below. She was stuck to the floor as Icarion put her foot on top of Konrad's head. Icarion brought her head close to Konrad's ear."You don't need to say your little pet's name, I can see him clear as day in your possible future," Icarion taunted. Konrad's eyes widened in shock, that expression of surprise quickly turned into raw anger.
Konrad thrashed her head, making Icarion step off her. With all the matriarch's strength pulled herself off the ground with the spear, still impaling her. Konrad pulled herself off the spear. Icarion threw a roundhouse kick straight at Konrad's face. Knocking her back to the ground.
Konrad gritted her teeth and gave an anguished grunt. She held her wound that was already healing, though her shoulder plate now had a gaping hole in it. Konrad quickly got to her feet and pooped out her claws. There was no longer any reason to make an attack, Icarion would just read her attacks and defense might as well have been suicide. Seeing that Icarion would outmaneuver and break her defense. However, Konrad would not give up no matter what and she would not fall into a great sorrow all without her Issei.
"You got a little fight in you, let's change that shall we," Icarion said, pulling her weapon from the wooden floor. Icarion slowly walked forward seeing how defiant Konrad made her have a nostalgic memory.
"Defiant till the end, I admire that if I recall correctly, that wasn't a personal trade of yours, It seems you changed as well but not enough to beat me," Icarion said her eyes flickered with anger. Konrad would not fail, with all she had she jumped at Icarion. The two clash with each other, blocking, punching, stabbing, and ripping each other apart. Their blades become more familiar with each other, as they meet with sparks. In this grand climactic brawl of two great warriors. Icarion had slashed across Konrad's chest, blood splashing on the ground, It unfortunately ended with Konrad lying on the ground, her armor beaten and scratched. The wave of the end had begun.
Icarion stood triumphant, Konrad weakly got up, still, Angron and Fulgrim were trapped in their nightmare. Konrad still refused to give up as she wobbled to her feet. The battle was still burning in Konrad's eyes. Though Icarion could tell this was nothing but mere squabble now. Icarion walked over to Konrad and kicked her back to the floor. Konrad back pushed into the wood, making a giant divet.
Konrad felt the strong grip of Icarion pushing her down to the ground Konrad could see the dead eyes set upon her. As Icarion was pushing down on Konrad's jaw, with great force she felt her neck was going to break. Konrad realized there was a prolonged time of silence as Konrad waited for the killing blow, only for Icarion to just stare at her.
Konrad spoke through her clapped jaw in quiet mubble. "What are you waiting for just do it," Konrad barked unafraid of what fate was ahead of her.
"If you kill me now it will only seal your fate, being back in the imperium, do you think they will let you go after killing us, if you do that then justice shall be waiting for you," Konrad said. Icarion gave a cold laugh at the response, Konrad grinding her teeth in frustration. Konrad's deep pitch black eyes were locked onto Icarion like a shark eyeing its prey.
"What is so funny!" Konrad demanded an answer. Icarion stopped her chatter of amusement and got close to Konrad's face.
"It's fun because you are the last person that should lecture justice to me," Icarion said.
"I know I have made many mistakes but I won't let that define me anymore, Not when he can make it possible," Konrad coughed out in anger. Icarion mockingly clicked her teeth like Konrad had said the wrong answer.
"Don't let that pet of yours cloud that twisted mind you have, I won't let you think you anything else," Icarion said tightening her grip on Konrad's head. "You will always be a monster and I should remind you of that,"
"I'm not afraid of your mind games I won't fall for them like they did!" Konrad said.
"Be not afraid Konrad it's only your Destiny…"
Konrad's eyes were blinded by a bright white light. A strobe of white light slammed on her site, almost blinding the Matriarch. Konrad felt her body vanish into the darkness as her site changed to a new area. Konrad already was anchoring herself knowing that this was a vision that Icarion was controlling. She would not be sacred but such a weak fear tactics, when she was the master of them. The world that Konrad was seeing was all too familiar. It was Nostramo a world that was perpetually dark from its pollution-clogged atmosphere and the fact that it circled a slowly dying star whose light was unable to penetrate this haze to reach the surface. The world was barely better lit at noon than at midnight. A shroud of perpetual darkness produced by the massive amounts of toxic smog kept the planet swathed in dull greys and deep blacks. The smell of rot and chemicals where strong.
Konrad was so confused as to why she was back here. She already knew the future was not set in stone but she was always brought back here. Konrad was unimpressed knowing she had a hardened mind against anything. She would find a way out of this mind prison and best Icarion. Konrad was on a giant tower, seeing she was high above in the city.
Konrad let out a stiff annoyed sigh. She wondered what horrible vision would throw her away. Whatever it was it would be no problem for her hardened soul. The sound of distant crying could be heard echoing behind her. Konrad followed sad cries taking steps around corners and climbing higher onto the gothic tower. After a couple of minutes, she finally came upon a giant balcony that extended to the city. The cries never stopped as Konrad came closer to the sound. Her sights found an image that she would never want to see.
Issei was lying on the ground in a pool of blood. Konrad felt her legs run on their own, as she ran over and knelt by Issei's side. She quickly gripped Issei's shoulder and gently held him. The moment she touched his body Konrad knew she held a dead body. Konrad's breath came to a halt as she felt a huge amount of despair but she forced that feeling away knowing this wasn't reality, but it sure was very real. Konrad laid the body back down and stood up.
"ISSEI!" Konrad screams in pain.
"Who did this?" Konrad growled. It was then she felt the presence of another person. She quickly turned around to a dark corner of shadow. Konrad held her arms out ready for combat.
"Step out of the darkness now!" Konrad yelled. There was a dark familiar laugh that sang around Konrad. She held her guard up and waited for her attacker to come.
"Did you think that you could live a life of peace,"
Konrad heard the voice; it was ragged and bloody. It was human and this creature in some manner of grace carried a feminine voice. Though to Konrad it sounded incredibly familiar.
"Step out of the darkness or else!" Konrad shouted. Still, this person refused to walk out and show their face. Knowing as would see the face of the one who would possibly take her love away from her. "Did you do this, I shall let you know now, I'll bring you to an excruciating judgment, it will make you weep until you cry blood or until your cuts turn green and flies crawl out of them," Konrad yelled her voice ringing off the walls
"You always did have a manner for colorful words,"
The person finally stepped out of the shadows. Konrad was on the brink of a sudden panic attack seeing who did this to her Issei.
Standing in front of Konrad was no other than Konrad. nightmare Konrad had pale skin that looked sickly, her skin cracked and broke. Her black eyes now had a demonic, glowing purple. Her complexion was darker making her look more like a drowned corpse. Her dark armor was gone now replaced with midnight black. Her sharp gauntlets were covered in blood and her lips were stained with it like messy lipstick.
Konrad was shocked at what she was seeing, this was not her, this was a monster and yet she couldn't form the right words that came from her lips.
"You're me," Konrad said in shock, She gritted her teeth in anger and pointed a finger right at this mirror of herself. "You're not me, I would never let myself become this monster do you understand me and I would never lay a hand on Issei like this, I know that is all a lie."
"I am you, I'm your future and this is what you'll become, Think not of what you could do to avoid this fate, even that man you hold so dear to your heart will not save you," The fake Konrad said.
"Don't you dare call him such a boring title, Issei is brave and amazing, He can pull us from the darkness!" Konrad said.
"How do you know of such of thing, If our father could not pull us from his crimes, what makes you think that boy can, I know you cannot fight against that nature inside you," The Fake Konrad said pointing a finger at her, The copy dragged her finger across Konrad's chest in a creepy manner, "The feeling of punishing the guilty is just inside of you,"
Konrad smacked it away and glared at her. "I'm not that monster you want me to be, This vision is lie your a lie,"
The Fake Konrad gave a tired sigh and shocked her head. "I guess you are right in some manner, I'm not Konrad Curze,"
Konrad was cut off with a swift punch to her jaw sending her to another wall and making an imprint of the stone. She got to her feet seeing this fake Konrad smiling at her. She let out a laugh that echoed throughout the world.
"You're right, How could the weak-minded Konrad become the beacon of fear to enforce an era of peace with fear, No Konrad could never be able of such a thing, Only The Night Hunter can and that's who I am, I am the Night Hunter, The women to make her home world bend to its knees, I don't even need a legion to bring my justice to the world, This is what I am, this is what our father made us, you Konrad so blinded to the hope of change, that you can't see the future in front of you. You think that boy can change anything, YOR THE INSANE ONE LIVING IN FLASE DREAM, THAT FATHER COULD NEVER PULL YOU FROM!"
Konrad got up and stared at the Night Hunter the persona she made to accept the world without hope before she met Issei. This was her sense of justice brought to an overzealous nature. This Night Hunter thrived on bringing pain to others and calling all for crimes. Konrad would fight for herself, for the people that needed that hand of justice to protect them, and most of all she would do it for Issei, she would no longer be a mindless monster who feed on the scum of evil. Konrad would never give up on her dream to be with the one to bring peace, If the world needed justice it would be delivered by her hand.
Not the Night Hunters.
"Does you're love even know what you are, what kind of act you committed can you truly let me see a side that made Father disgusted of us," The Night Hunter yelled only wanting Konrad to face the truth.
Konrad and The Night Hunter leaped at each other with full force as their lighting power claws coiled with each other, locking them both in a stalemate.
"I WILL PERVAIL AND BE SEEN AS THE WOMAN I WANTED!" Konrad cried into the night.
"YOU CAN'T RUN FROM WHAT YOU ARE!" The Night Hunter yelled.
Icarion looked over the unconscious, Konrad smiling seeing she had been lost in her visions doomed to not wake up. Icarion laughed at the sight in front of her. This was her moment to be rid of three guilty parties, who were responsible for her home world's downfall, in Icarion the lack of help or care, and especially the Matriarchs and Legion that were against her work and guilty of the murder of millions.
Icarion gazed at the three winding how she would commit her act of murder, She needed to send a message to the others so they would fear her sweet retribution. Fulgrim would be the most difficult to put down for her healing factor was beyond words. Angron even seemed more durable than usual. Which left only Konrad who would be the perfect example of her wrath.
She would decorate her body and cuts and bruises and decapitated head and present it to the others, knowing that their doom was now. Icarion knelt to stare her enemy in the face one more time. Icarion could hear Konrad faintly murmuring something to herself.
"I will bring you back my love,"
Icarion stared at Konrads with dead eyes, bringing her spear thunder child high above readying a strike to Konrad's neck.
"Love is a foolish thing, Konrad," Icarion said. "Only the weak seek companionship, to make themselves stronger,"
Konrad whispered one more time as Icarion was getting ready to finish her off.
"Love made me stronger,"
Lorgar was fighting against a wave of arrows trying to plunge into her flesh. Malayalam had been firing black arrows as fast as bolter rounds. Despite how these arrows looked, they were anything but feeble. There was willpower in them that could cut through steel. Lorgar had been pushed back by an inch each time an arrow touched her. Malayalam had plans of her own, freeing herself from this world of madness. However, Lorgar would not give up. She couldn't help but admire Lorgar's newfound strength, no longer could she see the stance of a person who blindly followed a religion.
"Why must she be here, why does she not go down," Malayalam thought. Lorgar with all her strength ran forward right at Malayalam, bringing her massive mace to an upward strike at Malayalam, Malayalam dogged Lorgar's attack giving Malayalam a perfect time to attack.
Malayalam used her extra limbs to try and stab Lorgar, but the two arrows were blocked as Lorgar shielded herself with her other arm using her book to stop the attack. Malayalam was then met with a right upper hook to her jaw knocking her back. Malayalam glanced at Lorgar with surprise.
Malayalam had taught Lorgar the ways of war, but this was something new to her. Malayalam was not a close-range fighter but if they were in her area she would use surprise attacks to catch her opponents off guard. Lorgar had done the impossible and learned from her mistake. The other matter was how Lorgar used her book to block the attack. She knew Lorgar had an absolute love of books and knowledge. The mere fact she would sacrifice one to even get an edge on an opponent means she was sacrificing knowledge to further herself in this combat. Malayalam was then smacked across the face with Lorgar mace.
Malayalam felt her teeth being kicked out of her jaw, while Lorgar used this opportunity to run at Magnus whose condition only seemed to worsen as the black arrows were still inside of her. The moment of pain and anguish had fled from Lorgar's mind she was going to end this battle no matter how tough the circumstances might've been.
Lorgar lept at Magnus only for an arrow to be shot into her armored gauntlet as she retracted from the pain. She swiftly turned around and charged at Malayalam, holding her arm up as a shield. Malayalam pulled her new string and watched the arrow fly at Lorgar who caught it in her hand. Lorgar had gotten close and personal again and swung the mace at one of Malayalam's many arms, breaking it. Lorgar knew that those extra limbs had assisted with her bow skills.
Malayalam grabbed Lorgar's book and kicked Lorgar away, The book she held onto ripped in the pages and flew in the air, gently littering the ground. Lorgar was about to charge again until Malayalam stopped her salt and looked at one of the pictures down below. She quickly picked it up, studying the contacts on the pages.
Malayalam was very surprised. These were drawings of romantic involvement with one another, poems, and haikus. This was all an ode in confession to one. Malayalam could usually piece together what had happened. It appeared that the religious zealot found love, and it was having a positive effect on Lorgar. Malayalam understands why Lorgar was trying so hard to bring her back, even with such a noble reason she refused to resign from her exile.
"You've been busy falling in love, haven't you?" Malayalam said.
"You're a heretic to the family! Why do you even care!" Lorgar yelled out. Malayalam shocked her head at the angered Lorgar. "And I don't love him I have a grand respect for him,"
"These poems are not of respect but of love. Do yourself a favor, run away, find him, enjoy your own life, a life where you do not have to fight a life where you could be happy. That is what I am trying to do. I am tired and done with the wars. I am no longer a crusader. I only want to be free and kidnapped. One of my own is required for that freedom then, so be it, but you may also be free. Keep my words, leave now, find him, love him, and be happy or I could watch you plummet to your demise."
Malayalam had given her a warning, this was a professional courtesy, for a friend that she still loved. Lorgar growled and charged again.
"No I will not leave you here I need you to bring him back, you are my only hope Malayalam Please don't leave my sight again," Lorgar thought as she weaved through long wooden arrows that would even impale a space marine. Lorgar charged in again only this time realizing an arrow stabbed into her thigh, The shot had become so fast that the matriarch's eyes couldn't perceive it. Lorgar felt herself being pushed by 100 black arrows, all of them, pushing her closer and farther to the edge.
Malayalam had been firing there so fast she was like a machine gun. Lorgar tried to push back but then she felt a sharp pain hit her knee as an arrow tore through her knee bone and out of her leg. Lorgar collapsed on the ground as she was now on the very edge of the Lily Pad only one step away from a plummet down below.
She had taken an arrow to the knee and already she could feel its effects taking over. The unfortunate news of being connected to the warp somehow appears to be a major weakness. With great effort, Lorgar still stood unafraid and ready to fight.
Malayalam pulled back one more shot right at Lorgar who still was standing. Lorgar could see a small amount of sympathy on Malayalam face. Lorgar assumed that a long time from suffering having more ideals Time and time again, must've been hard, but not as hard as killing your own family.
"Lorgar, why did you do this? Why live for a lie to a false father? Do you truly have nothing to give to yourself, Isn't there that sister who wanted to find the truth no matter what," Malayalam said like she didn't want to fire the arrow.
"Lorgar," Magnus weekly called out.
Lorgar Recalled her entire long life and in one grateful moment appeared in her mind. As hundreds of memories played in her mind, there was one that was even greater to her, than meeting the emperor for the first time. The memory of Issei overcoming the impossible and fighting off the curse, saving her and making sure she was all right. The kindness in his eyes, and the simple truth of believing in herself, a truth that was ultimately the only one, she could always rely on. Lorgar gazed up at Malayalam and put on a smile.
"I've found my truth Malayalam! And he is a strong and great person…" Lorgar halted her next words thinking that saying it so normally would be insulting to the truth, and herself. "I AM IN LOVE WITH ISSEI HYOUDOU!"
Lorgar wanted the whole world to know she found her truth and that she would bring Malayalam to save her Issei and her truth, that people are never born into this world alone. Lorgar could feel something burning inside like a shot of adrenaline running through her veins, She took a step toward her sister.
Thud!
"No Lorgar," Magnus weakly called out. Lorgar felt herself slowly fall back as a black arrow pierced her throat and pushed her back to fall into the abyss. Magnus felt her tears leak out of her face as Lorgar fell off to the edge.
"I'm so sorry Lorgar," Malayalam said. Magnus's headbutted the ground and let out an angry cry.
"Lorgar," She wheezed out.
Lorgar felt herself falling to the ground. Yet she felt free after saying what she truly felt today. Lorgar felt her eyes burning with joy, She didn't want to die, she wanted to live and see him again. Her mind flashed back to an important moment.
"What is it that you believe?' Issei asked.
"I know it sounds strange but I believe In you," Lorgar said. His eyes widened at the news. He gave a small smile at Lorgar. She watched as Issei boldly reached for her hand. Lorgar held out her palm, Issei putting his hand in hers.
"I may not know that much about believing in a god, but I do believe in people, Amazing people like you," Issei said. Lorgar blushed at his words. He gently laid his palm on her hand comforting her. "I think if we believe in each other we don't have to look up for the answers, I think sometimes the answer to who we are and where we are, is inside of us."
"Hey, do you like helping people?"
Lorgar felt an uncontrollable fire burn out of control, this feeling was like a supernova burning inside of her. As Lorgar wanted this feeling to take over, this undeniable feeling she had found her truth. She had found the strength to bring her out of the darkness of uncertainties. She felt like the world finally made sense, she was happy and strong, and there was a burning truth she had to share with the world.
Lorgar held out her arms, feeling that fire flowed through her veins. Lorgar smiled at the burning passion that scorched her heart. As she fell Lorgar noticed it was getting hotter but this heat was enjoyable. The Matriarch's eye started to flicker with white light. Her mind flashed back to one more moment.
"Hey then you know something about yourself, I don't have all the answers but don't need all of them to be happy." Issei let go of Lorgar's hand and walked into the building. Before he could go inside he gave Lorgar a final message.
"Hey if you ever want to talk about this again, my door is always open, not to mention I think you're a good person to solve problems and I don't think you need a god to tell you that," Issei said as he walked in the door. Lorgar felt herself falling to her knees crying tears of joy. She found a base to build an answer to the universe. We are men, we make our truth. Lorgar smiled gratefully at the sky. We do need something to believe so why ourselves? Lorgar slowly stood up from her feet and let out a relieved sigh. She began to tear off the so-called sacred seal of her armor. No more worship, only loyalty to ourselves and a good cause. Lorgar looked up to see the star out for her to gaze at. Though only one shining beacon of hope entered her mind as Issei's face couldn't get out of the matriarch's head. She pulled out a drawing from her book and gazed at it.
The picture was that of Lorgar and Issei laughing in bed while in a cozy house. Something about a peaceful life with Issei always made sense to her.
"Thank you." She said to herself. Thanking Issei for lifting a weight off her shoulder.
The finale fuse was lit and a giant explosion of light engulfed Lorgar as she felt a massive burst of energy. Take over and bring her to a new stage of living, the black arrows that were in her burned away as Lorgar was shining as bright as the sun.
The light kept burning brighter and brighter. Lorgar kept her bright smile as she was suffering from a magnificent miracle.
Icarion was about to strike Konrad. Though the matriarch halted, the execution when she noticed a bright, colorful light emanating above her. She gazed up as her jaw dropped at the site.
"What is that?" Icarion asked out loud, disclosing to her Konrad was giving off a black smoke from her body. For deep within Konrad's mind a great battle was occurring: the battle of justice.
Within Konrad's mind, she was crossing blades with her so-called persona the night Hunter. There was no point in trying to hide from each other the fact that stuff would be the wrong choice in this battle, and the other knew how they would be able to pull off such a sneaky attack. This was now a game that Konrad rarely played and that was testing her endurance. They were both equal in skill combat and strength, but the night Hunter had such a Ferocious attitude and wildness to her attacks that I gave her an edge over Konrad. It was like that hysterical strength had been given to the night hunter.
The Night Hunter grabbed Konrad by her right arm and threw Konrad over her shoulder slamming into the pavement floor. The Night Hunter took this chance to break Konrad's right arm. Konrad did not scream or beg, instead, she used this to her advantage. Getting close to the Night Hunter and stabbing the assassin in the gut with her power claws, the Night Hunter let out a ferocious roar. Konrad was pushed back, her arm already healing from the attack putting itself back in place.
The Night Hunter lept on a wall and shot up in the air, The Night Hunter was going to deliver a powerful axe kick to Konrad which she quickly dodged the stack by sidestepping out of the way. The Night Hunter played off her mistake and was close enough to grab Konrad and pin her to the wall, choking Konrad.
"Does he even know what you did Konrad!" The Night Hunter yelled, crushing Konrad into the wall. Konrad couldn't speak but spat in the Night Hunter's face.
The night Hunter was not phased at all, only pushing deeper, cutting off Konrad's oxygen supplies, even though Matriarchs did not need to breathe.
"How can you possibly even think about a choice where we could find peace, we are not exempt from our crimes as well Konrad," The Night Hunter yelled, wanting nothing more than to finish this. To show how the present would never change the future it was destiny. It was the grim darkness of Konrad's time.
"I… am… not… his fear!" Konrad choked out.
"How can you say that, thinking you're innocent? What if all the murders were committed by us, How many families will never see their loved ones again because of us, Tell me, how was it not your responsibility for your legion actions, it was your ignorance, spreading that cruelty and ruling by fear that made your warriors into monsters,"
Konrad wanted to block out these truths but she couldn't. There was so much truth behind it, but it couldn't be ignored when an Epiphany struck the Matriarch's heart. Konrad would not run from him. She would face them head-on if she did so then she wouldn't be the night Hunter, because the night Hunter never faced its punishment. It was a monster Konrad made. Konrad glared at the night Hunter, grabbing both her arms and something inside of her stirred as she crushed the night hunter's arms in her grip. The Night Hunter glared at Konrad.
Konrad finally has clear judgment in herself, knowing that the night Hunter wasn't the ultimate solution to crime and sin. It was the coward's way out, of saying the only punishment was death.
"You may call yourself sister, justice bringer, and a lover but you will always be a monster," The Night Hunter said, declaring a certain truth about Konrad.
"I know, but I am my monster, not the emperor, not destiny I am my own that will make the wrongs, right," Konrad said with a great and mighty voice. knowing she would be controlling her fate. The Night Hunter didn't see Konrad who spoke of fear, nor what she heard was the emperor's voice as she had the same tone as a great ruler. The Night Hunter felt a sharp pain in her, but only realized her head was decapitated from her body. Konrad stood triumphant for knowing she was the master of her own choice; she gazed at the body of the Night Hunter and quietly took a sigh of peace.
Konrad fell to the back of the wall and smiled at the sky. There was one thing on her mind and that was the future she wanted. The one where she could wear a black dress and be held by Issei. The world around her faded into darkness.
Konrad in her moment of clarity felt the presence of another, the darkness itself was this strange presence but it was warm and kind due to her nature. She felt at home.
"You made a wise choice Konrad Curze, You have my blessing to care for Issei," Que's voice said. Konrad was smiling and let the darkness fade her away. Konrad had felt an energy enter her body. This was the moment she felt her body at peace, no pain or rage. Only peace knowing she was in control.
"Thank you, Issei for freeing me,"
A feeling of dark energy enters her mind, heart, and soul. This feeling wasn't foreign at all to the matriarch as it felt, she was comfortable in her skin for once. She shined with a crimson red and her teeth became a bright white.
A sun rises from the darkness, another is consumed by the night.
Icarion was blinded by the light but decided to not be distracted from her goal when the light faded and her sight cleared. Icarion's gaze was on the ground but could see Konrad was not there, She gazed around trying to find Konrad but found no trace of her. It was like she completely vanished.
Icarion then noticed the light was slowly dying out, the tone of the area was darkening, and it was more comparable to someone turning the knob of a light switch to make it less bright. The shadows of the area crept up closer to Icarion, and Icarion held Thunder Child close. The battle was coming toward a strange new stage as the light was fading. The last matriarch quickly found something disturbing, and she glanced around the area to see Angron and Fulgrim's bodies missing. Icarion ran over to the spot where the unconscious Matriarchs were supposed to be, but they were gone, and there were no tracks or traces left of them. It was like nothing was there.
"You're not hurting them now or ever again," Konrad's voice said like it was the wind, passing around Icarion.
Icarion quickly paced around, trying to find any source of where the sound could be. Konrad was nowhere to be found. Icarion was about to call out Konrad and call her a coward, but before the air could leave Icarion's lungs she was cut off by Konrad.
"Calling me a coward trying to get me out of the shadows makes it easier for you to kill me right? fortunately, that's not gonna work" Konrad's voice said. Icarion was about to speak again saying that it didn't matter, she was still the superior fighter. She opened her mouth again only to be cut off by Konrad.
"If you brag about your skills, then you're not worthy of them. I'm not coming out from hiding because I'm not hiding. I'm right in front of you. You just can't seem to see me." Konrad said. Icarion gritted her teeth and said this was enough. She's had about the absolute limit with these childish games. Icarion before could do her next action Konrad noted it.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Konrad warned but this made Icarion only more full of rage.
"Warning your enemies is a stupid choice only the weak make," Icarion said, wanting to use her future vision to locate where Konrad was. When She used her power, a massive wave of pain shot through her head Icarion. An image of a dark figure that loomed over was engraved in her mind. She opened her eyes to see blood leaking out of her eye. She glanced at the ground to see the red drip from her chin, for Icarion's ears, nose, and mouth were bleeding.
"I warned you because I didn't want you to lose consciousness so soon, because after what you said and did, I'm going to make you think, you should be better off dead," Konrad said as she finally stepped out in front of the nervous Icarion. Konrad had appeared out of the darkness that she manifested from it
Konrad now stood a bit taller than Icarion. Konrad was covered in a cloak of darkness made of shadow. Her pale skin was now a show white pale, her complexion had become healthier. Konrad's black hair was longer and her locks were shining like marble obsidian. Her eyes are a glowing red scarlet. The most defining aspect was her two long black bull-like horns.
Her power claws became longer and more serrated and flicked with black lighting. Icarion narrowed her eyes and held her thunder child close.
"It seems you feel fit what we have been calling you, monster," Icarion called out. Though Konrad was not fazed at all.
"Call me titles but I won't today is your judgment and I am your judge," Konrad said as she took a step forward. Then disappeared from Icarion's eyes. Icarion felt a hand grip her shoulder as Konrad was behind her.
"Let your trial begin,"
Malayalam stood with a depressed look She gave a tired sigh and walked over to the paralyzed Magnus and gave a tired sigh. Magnus could only give a heated stare at Malayalam who was in distress after hurting Lorgar.
"Don't look at me like that, I had no other choice," Malayalam said in sadden tone of voice.
"You always have a choice," Magnus said in a broken whisper. Malayalam said nothing as she began to tie Magun's hands behind her back while the black arrows nullified her powers. Malayalam wished it had never come to this but it had. Malayalam knew that as long as Magnus was her hostage no one would come near her, the risk of losing the Emperor's favorite child was too much of a risk for the imperium. Malayalam felt the temperature rise as the heat in the area became too warm. Even for her, it was getting too hot.
Malayalam could see heat waves around them. Magnus even though her abilities nullify, could feel a great psychic presence heading their way. The sound of a great fire was approaching them.
"What is that? It almost feels like Father's presence, but that's impossible," Malayalam said, feeling a mighty psychic presence. It wasn't as strong as Father's, but it was more so the familiarity of a golden energy. Malayalam slowly walked to the edge of the natural platform and gazed down.
Then a wave of light pushed Malayalam back but she still stood strong. She could see a flaming figure flying through the sky, circling the platform. Malayalam I was waiting in shock, and she could identify who this was.
Malayalam was in complete shock as it was Lorgar and she was flying. With great wings of bright white fire, that stretched over two times Lorgar's size. dwarfing even Sanguinius's wings. Her white hair shone like clouds. There was a giant ball of flame hovering over her head. Lorgar eyes were glowing with golden light and the legendary mace she carried was set ablaze with flames of different colors, like she was carrying a rainbow of fire.
Out of all the Matriarchs, it was well-known that Lorgar shared her appearance with the emperor. This new form she had made her resemble the greatest human in the imperium. Lorgar gently floated down the heat from her form already burning, the arrows that were in Magnus. Lorgar had a strong gaze on Malayalam.
Malayalam was lost at the moment but was unsure what to do now, never seeing or even thinking Lorgar was capable of having such amazing power.
"If I can not bring you back in fathers light, then I'll bring you to mine," Lorgar said as her voice sounded like two people. Her voice with another deep and louder one in sync with her.
Malayalam and Icarion had only one thing to say to these new godlike forms that were to them.
"Oh, S***!"
