To Be A Master

Leo and Po were sparring in the courtyard. The panda's defenses were being lowered from Leo's hard punches. He caught Leo's fist and delivered a nice kick to the abdomen and lets go of the wrist. Leo rolls backwards a couple feet away and stands up back into his stance. The young man quickly charges at Po with his fist ready. Po was about to block Leo's fist but the human smirks and slams into the panda's head. Leo didn't waste anytime to send a good chop to Po's shoulder and watched the panda fell on his side.

"Ow." Po groans. He rubs the back of his head and looks up at him. "That was a good headbutt."

"Thanks." Leo offers his hand to the Dragon Warrior and pulls him back on his feet.

As the two warriors resume their sparring, Tigress was watching from the doorway in silence. Leo's kung fu has improved when he arrived here. But he is a student. Not a kung fu master like her or the rest of the Five and Po. Many of the villagers would greet the masters whenever they go to the village, Leo tells them just call him Leo and not call him Master or Master Leo. He didn't seem to mind being called a hero.

But why? They've been wondering about that for several months now. Maybe there's a reason for it and he never explained why. After watching for a few more minutes, the orange feline left and heads to the Peach Tree. She sits down in a lotus position. Tigress is still hoping that she and Leo can talk again. She was relieved that he still cares about her when Leo and Viper were talking right outside the new children's hospital.

While she was thinking about Leo, Tigress felt a tap on her leg and sees Shifu. "Master Shifu."

"Are you up here meditating, Tigress?" the small red panda asked her.

"No, I was thinking about Leo, Master."

"I know." Shifu said. "He's been working hard on his training since he arrived here. I did planned to give Leo to be called a Master like you, Po and the rest of the Five. But I was surprised that he did not want to be called a master."

"I don't understand why Leo would refuse to be a kung fu master."

"That's what I've been thinking about for a while. I remember that everyone, the rest of the Five and you acknowledge and honor Po as a Master. You became a master over time, Tigress. And so did Monkey, Mantis, Crane and Viper. As for Po, he became a master in a few short days."

Tigress nodded.

"Leo has been training when Master Lee adopted him from the orphanage. Not only Lee has trained him, but another master named Ju Fen has trained him as well."

"I only wished he can tell us the reason why he didn't want to be a kung fu master like the rest of us."

"I understand you want to know why. But we can't force him to tell us. Perhaps one day Leo will explain more about his past when the time is right."

"I hope so. I wonder what kind of tests they have to do in order to be a kung fu master at the Tao Palace." Tigress wondered.

"Perhaps Leo and Panther would know about it." Shifu strokes his beard. "For most places they have different rules and tasks in order to be a kung fu master. But here, Po became a kung fu master after defeating Tai Lung after having to train for three days. That was just a special case."

"I agree."

"Until we know more, we must wait."

Tigress nods her head.

"Are things still the same between you two right now?" he asked her.

"Yes. It's been nearly two weeks that we spoken to each other."

"I know how much you mean to each other. And I'm sure he'll talk to you soon." Shifu assured her.

Tigress smiled and bows to him. She watches him leave the hill to head back to the Jade Palace. When he does talk to her soon, they'll talk things over.

This was a short chapter I had to work on. Leo's past is still a mystery to the warriors. I hope you enjoyed this chapter and don't forget to leave a review!
