As Mordecai and Rigby hastily pulled Cody inside, the bird Pokémon took a curious look around- the air in the house felt significantly cooler than outside. He wasn't sure what they had done to make it that way, but it certainly felt really nice.

The house felt completely foreign to Cody, unlike the trees and leaves outside. Furniture and picture frames were on the walls, showing the faces of people he'd never met. The Decidueye felt pretty uncomfortable with it all, but considering he had nowhere else to go except with these two, he might as well go wherever they did..

"Alright then! Rigby, boot up the game system while I get some snacks." Rigby nodded, turning everything on as Mordecai ran into another room. Cody was still confused, but really didn't want to ask too many questions. Who knows how they'd react if he asked a bad one?

As the video game system began to turn on alongside whatever device was showing it to Cody and Rigby, the words "Dig Champs" displayed. The Decidueye was highly confused- how did this thing work? How did they get their hands on such advanced technology, and.. he could READ? The Decidueye was only more alarmed as he felt everything begin to hit him at once again.

"Got the snacksss!" Mordecai exclaimed, waving around what seemed to be a bag of some chips, or at least that's what he thought they were called from the packaging. The bluejay opened them up and put them into a large bowl, placing it on the same table as the video game system.

"So, Cody.. where are you from? How'd you even end up in the middle of the Park? I'm pretty sure we didn't see you last night.." Mordecai asked, seeming a bit confused and curious at once.

Cody, however, was just confused. "I- I don't know.. I just lived in the forest before I woke up here. I'm a little scared, honestly, and I don't recognize any of this stuff!" The Decidueye nervously combed his claws through his feathers, a nervous habit he had picked up a few months prior. He was just struggling to deal with all of his intense emotions; being somewhere so unfamiliar made Cody feel like he was in constant danger, even if he wasn't.

"The forest? Woaaaah.. so you're a homeless guy? That's totally awesome!" Rigby said, before Mordecai punched him in the arm. "Oww!"

"No, it's not awesome, Rigby! He doesn't even have a place to stay, and he doesn't remember how he got here. If he doesn't know what video games are, what else do you think he doesn't know? We gotta get him up to speed. We owe it to him since he did help us clean up the leaves earlier."

Cody wasn't entirely sure what they were arguing about, but he got the general idea- they wanted to help him out.. or at least he hoped so.

"Aw man, you're right! I guess we've done way crazier things before.. But.. can we at least play video games with him first?" Rigby asked.

"I mean.. I guess so. We can talk with Benson about letting him join the Park later.. letting him wander when he doesn't understand a lot of this place might end very badly." Mordecai turned to Cody.

"..So, you ready to play some Dig Champs?" The bluejay asked, waiting for Cody's answer.

"I.. uh, sure!" The Decidueye tried to be enthusiastic, grabbing one of the controllers that apparently.. well, controlled the game. Rigby and Mordecai fought a bit, but eventually, Rigby ended up playing the game.

"I'm totally gonna beat you!" Rigby yelled, excited to play against Cody- and as far as the Decidueye was concerned, Rigby was right. He had no idea how the game worked, how to play, or even why people found this fun- because nobody had even told him! Before Cody knew it, the game had begun, and he panickedly tried to hit the snail enemies with whatever weapon he had- it reminded him of a Sliggoo or a Goodra back home..

Rigby had absolutely blown him out of the water, to absolutely nobody's surprise. "Woahhh!" He yelled out, which Cody assumed was in celebration.

"I don't get it.. why do you think this is so fun?" Cody gently put the controller back on the table, confused. "It's just things moving on.. whatever you call that thing.." The Decidueye pointed to the TV.

"That's a TV, Cody! Man, you really don't know anything about this place, do you?" Mordecai seemed confused. "I really would've thought you'd at least know something.."

Cody grew increasingly nervous. "If I knew, i'd tell you, I swear! I'm just really confused right now, and overwhelmed, and-"

"Woah, dude, calm down. It's fine, we aren't getting mad at you." Mordecai put his hand on Cody's shoulder, as the Decidueye calmed down.

"Oh.. thank Arceus.." He said to himself, glad that he still had his friend.

"Wait, what's Arceus? Is that some type of super powerful guy? Do you think he's an alien or something, Mordecai!?" Rigby looked at his friend, then suspiciously at Cody.

"No way, Rigby! I know we've seen a lot of crazy stuff, but we've never seen an alien before!" Mordecai argued back, as Cody just stared on, confused.

"If you say so, mister smartypants." Rigby said sarcastically.

Cody didn't understand a lot about this world, and Mordecai seemed to be more understanding of that.. while Rigby was pretty rude.. seeing how different the two of them were, Cody would've never understood how they got along so well. Clearly, they were close friends, but.. how? It seemed like they'd do anything except get along..

Before Cody could ask, though, a loud voice rang through the house. "Mordecai, Rigby! You better have raked up those leaves, or you're FIRE-" A man had walked down the stairs, staring right at Cody. The Decidueye recognized that face from one of the portraits on the wall.

"Aw, come on! What did I say about bringing your friends over during work hours!?" The gumball machine seemed rather angry with Cody's two friends- was he hostile? The Decidueye immediately sprang into action, preparing to grab his bow.. but Mordecai quickly stopped him, putting his hand out.

"No, don't, Cody!" The bluejay said, turning to the gumball machine. "Benson, we did exactly what you asked, rake the leaves! And this guy isn't some friend we invited. We found him laying out on the grass in the park, and he just seems confused! He didn't know what video games or a TV were!" Mordecai was clearly trying to defend Cody, but against what if it wasn't a physical attack.. he didn't know.

"So, you seriously believe everything you guys hear now, huh? You don't think this guy could be a scammer, trying to cheat you guys out of money? Just get him out of here in the next five minutes, or you're seriously, 100 percent, FIRED!"

Something clicked inside of Cody- he knew what this Benson guy was trying to do now- kick him out. Then he began to panic again.. he couldn't leave! He needed to stay with Mordecai and Rigby if he wanted to figure out how this world worked!

"No, no, no, please! My name is Cody, i'm a Decidueye, and i'm a Pokémon! I'm just confused on why i'm here, I don't understand anything about what's happening, and I just need to figure everything out so I can go home! Please, don't kick me out! I need Mordecai and Rigby!" The Decidueye only grew more panicked, before tears began to drip down his face.

"Wait.. Pokémon? Isn't that one of those video games?" Benson seemed highly confused and annoyed.

"Wait.. hold up.. wait. Oh my god." It seemed that something clicked inside of Mordecai's head.

"..Aww yeah, told you he was an alien! Woahhh!" Rigby bragged.
