"Hello Fate." Isabella greeted the old man seated at a desk in his office writing in a book. The room was filled with clocks set to different times and calendars for years past and years to come. On one wall was a book shelf that looked like any normal one you would find in an office but if someone took a closer look they would see the way each notebook gave off a yellow glow. Isabella knew what those notebooks contained and every time she was in this room she always kept her gaze away from them.

"I was wondering when you were going to visit." Fate finished writing his sentence and put his quill down."How are you Gaia? Or are you going by Isabella now?"

"The Greeks and their stories." Isabella grumbled. "How they thought that I would have had children with my own son is just ridiculous."

"The fact that they thought you would have children with any man is ridiculous." Fate said.

"Mortals always like to create very elaborate stories to explain things they don't understand." Isabella understood why the mortals did so but some of their answers to the questions of the universe never made sense to her.

"They do have fascinating imaginations." Fate agreed. "I don't think you are here to speak about that though."

"You are correct. I am here to ask about father's meddling." Isabella told him.

Fate sighed. "I told him you wouldn't be happy about this but he insisted you needed some companionship."

"I can easily seek out companionship if I truly wished for some." Isabella wanted to say that she couldn't believe her father would do this to her but he was always worried about his children's happiness.

"That's the problem Isabella. You don't seek out any companionship. Not even in terms of friendship. Father isn't the only one who has come to me about this. Our siblings and mother have come as well." Fate told her.

Isabella flinched at hearing her mother had been involved. Her mother was not one to take no for an answer so there was no way Fate could have stopped this from happening. "I don't blame you. I just don't understand why now."

"You should know that it would have been a lot sooner if I had given in to the others. I have put it off for as long as I can but when father found the two women he thought worthy of you he forced my hand." Fate told her.

"Two women? I only met one." Isabella didn't like where this was going.

"Oh well…I…it's just." Fate stuttered.

"It's just what Fate? Tell me now before I become truly angry." Isabella demanded.

Fate tried to turn his gaze away from Isabella but as her eyes changed to their natural blue and the flames within them began to rage he knew he didn't have a chance to make it out of this conversation alive if he wasn't truthful with her. "Father thought since you didn't want another goddess as your beloved that he would give you two mortals instead."

"Why would he do that?" Isabella knew this wasn't Fate's fault but it was hard to remember that when her very being was demanding she punish him for this.

"You won't be able to stay by her side so he wanted to make sure that both would have each other to protect them incase something happened." Fate told her.

"They are mated to each other then?" Isabella asked.

Fate nodded. "Yes, they are. However they don't feel it yet. Once you are all together the bond will snap into place."

"I want to ask why you did it this way but I know the answer I will receive will have me wanting to put your head on a spike." Isabella said.

"I only did what father said to do but myself along with everyone else thinks this is a good idea." Fate told her. "We worry about you Isabella. You have always been so committed to your calling that you have never taken time for yourself. Other than that fling you had with Venus you have never been with another."

"I didn't have a fling with Venus." Isabella hated that everyone took the lovely friendship she had with the goddess and tainted it with their want for them to be a couple. Isabella didn't feel that way about her friend and knew Venus didn't feel that way about her as well.

"If that's true then that makes what I have done even more important." Fate knew his sister would be upset but he truly believed that he did the right thing. Isabella deserved a bit of was the most selfless amongst all the gods and goddesses and never took time to enjoy life.

Isabella sighed. "I wish that you hadn't done this but I know that getting angry at you will get me nowhere."

"So you forgive me?" Fate asked hopefully.

"Yes of course I forgive you." Isabella couldn't stay mad at her siblings even if she wanted to. "I love you to much to stay angry at you.

Fate let out a sigh of relief. Isabella may not be the goddess of war but she was just as dangerous as Athena when provoked. "Do you wish for me to tell you about your two companions?"

"No I believe it would be better to learn from them. It wouldn't be fair for me to have the information when they know nothing about me or who I am." Isabella said.

"That is probably wise." Fate agreed.

"I will leave you now as I need to find a courting gift to give each of them." It was tradition amongst the gods and goddesses to present a gift to the one you wished to pursue. Isabella didn't know what to give them but knew it had to be something impressive. She was a goddess courting mortals it would be unacceptable to meet them empty handed.

"If you are looking for a gift I suggest you visit Nyx. Vampires are her creations. She may have something that could be beneficial to you." Fate told her.

"That is a good idea." Isabella may have magic that could effect vampires but Nyx created them so she may have something that would be special enough for a courting gift. "I will see you later Fate."

"Good luck Isabella." Fate waved goodbye as she left his office.

Isabella had many things to think about. The major one was that she was now promised to two mortals. Vampires may live for a very long time but they could be killed whereas Isabella could not. That meant that she would have to come up with a way to protect the pair when she wasn't there. She also needed to worry about Rosalie's sire and his first turned. She had taken away his gift but Isabella knew that it would not cause him to reflect on his life it would just anger him. With the way Carlisle doted on the boy Isabella had no doubt that the pair would be planning on attacking her. The fact that they knew Isabella was Rosalie's mate would give them a target. Isabella would have to discuss what to do with them with Nyx. She didn't want to overstep her bounds with her sister but Isabella was sure Nyx would understand her dilemma. As she walked through the porthole to Nyx's realm Isabella at least hoped she did.
