"You made it with one minute to spare." Tanya said as Isabella appeared in the living room of the home they shared with her two sisters, Eleazar, Carmen, Rosalie and Emmett. They could of course live in the Volturi castle but Isabella hated the politics and the rest of them the lack of privacy. Plus Tanya liked giving her wife somewhere peaceful to come home to so she could relax after all the trips she went on. Accepting the kiss Isabella gave her Tanya pulled her onto her lap. "Hello my love, how was your trip?"
"Long and annoying." Isabella told her.
Before Tanya could reply Rosalie came into the room followed by Kate and Emmett. Tanya rolled her eyes when Rosalie ran to Isabella picked her up off Tanya's lap and hugged her. She had long ago gotten past her anger whenever the two of them were affectionate but she couldn't help the small amount of possessiveness that made her want to rip Isabella out of Rosalie's arms and take Isabella away to never see Rosalie again. Looking at Emmett she knew she wasn't alone in her discomfort but they both knew it wasn't a romantic bond so they put up with it.
"Hey you're back!" Rosalie had started to get worried as Isabella hadn't shown up after disappearing in front of her earlier that morning. When Isabella left without warning it usually meant some kind of dangerous situation was happening.
"What was it this time?" Kate put her hands together in a praying motion. "Please say it was something to do with killer robots."
Isabella rolled her eyes. "That happened one time."
"And the stories were amazing." Kate said.
"The electronics you brought back from that trip were pretty awesome." Rosalie added.
Tanya pulled Isabella back down on her lap. "What wasn't amazing was the way they had weapons that shot fire."
"It was still pretty awesome." Kate grumbled. "Anyway what was it this time that was keeping you two love birds apart?"
Isabella avoided looking at anyone. She knew Tanya was going to be pissed and didn't want to have to deal with protecting the rest of the family for however long that anger took to go away. However she knew that stalling could backfire and focus the attention back on her. "Edward had been claiming a false mate bond with their Isabella which they called Bella.I believe that I was pulled there because he was going to kill her soon."
"Oh my god that's so great." Emmett said. He could already imagine all the ways Tanya was going to take out her anger on that ass wipe. None of their coven liked the manipulative vampire and avoided him whenever they could. He was always trying to question them on how Isabella's blocks worked so he could get around them to use his gift. The only reason he hadn't been killed is because he hadn't actually committed any crimes. That didn't stop Tanya from taking out her anger on him every time Isabella came back from a trip where he tried to kill that dimension's Isabella.
Tanya pulled Isabella closer and growled. "I'm going to kill him."
"That dimension's you beat him pretty badly." Isabella told her.
"So what else happened? Did you meet me?" Isabella nodded at Kate's question. "Was I as awesome there as I am here?"
"It was actually you and Irina that kept me for so long. Each of you were without your mates. Well Irina was with what she thought was her mate but he was claiming a false mate bond and that version's Irina had been extremely lonely and believed it." Isabella was still pissed about that.
"Do we know the vampire who was claiming it?" Rosalie asked.
"Unfortunately. It was Laurent." Isabella wasn't surprised at the many growls she heard at telling them that.
"I can't believe you had to deal with that bastard again. Did you at least kill him?" Tanya and the rest of them had to track down Laurent and bring him in for his crimes. He had killed her sire and had been trying to gain a following to overthrow the queens.
Isabella shook her head. "No I didn't. I was in the middle of being attacked by you so I couldn't do anything. You sent him away with a warning."
"Wait Tanya attacked you?" Kate laughed. "What the hell happened there?"
"I appeared near where Edward lived and met Rosalie in the woods. It took little effort for her to believe me and she knew where our coven lived. When I got there Tanya attacked me and refused to believe me until Rosalie vouched for me." Isabella told them.
Rosalie shot Tanya a smug smile. "I would always believe you no matter what dimension."
"Yeah whatever." Tanya grumbled.
"Anyway." Isabella didn't want to deal with one of their fights right now so figured she should get on with her story. "When I convinced them to believe me they made their way to where the Cullens were living. I met them there as I didn't want to ride in their vehicle."
Kate threw her hands up in the air dramatically."Will you just get over that already? No one got killed."
"That's only because of my shield Kate." Isabella reminded her. "You shouldn't have done it at all."
"Well how was I supposed to know that using my gift in an airplane would short circuit the electronics and cause the plane to crash." Kate didn't understand how Isabella still blamed her for that.
"You could have killed a plane full of humans. Hell we would even have died if Isabella hadn't been able to smother the fire with her shield before she guided the plane safely into the ocean."Tanya was still pissed at Kate for that. If it wasn't for Isabella's standing within the Volturi Kate would probably have been executed. She had exposed Isabella in front of a plane full of humans. Luckily the extreme turbulence had the humans panicking or she would have. With the queens' influence the accident was deemed a frayed cable had shorted out the electric and the swift thinking and skill of the pilots saved the day. The fact that Isabella refused to travel in any kind of vehicle that had to be powered by anything electrical was a horrible side effect that pissed Tanya off because it made it hard to plan vacations.
"Let's forget about Kate's stupidity. Did you see anything cool?" Emmett asked.
"Actually although that dimension was mostly boring and very behind on most everything I did see something cool." Isabella pulled out the picture Rosalie had printed for her and handed it to Tanya.
"Why are wolves cool?" Tanya had expected something more interesting than wolves.
Isabella shook her head. "My love they aren't wolves they are an offshoot of the children of the moon. They are actually humans who transform into wolves. Like shapeshifters but only one shape."
"Really? I know you have told me of shape shifters but never have I heard of wolves like these." Tanya gave the picture to an impatient Kate.
"They are very cute and really didn't like being told that. From what I was told they had most of the traits of the children of the moon but can control it completely after they have practiced a bit." Isabella sighed. "I really wanted to bring one home to you."
"That would have been awesome. I bet they would be good guard dogs. I wonder if we could teach them how to fetch?" Kate was already thinking of the many ways she could use one of the wolves. It would definitely make her much more menacing when facing off against enemies.
"Did you bring anything back?" Rosalie asked. Usually when she was away Isabella tried to bring back something interesting for each of them.
"I'm sorry. There really wasn't anything worth bringing back." Isabella would give Rosalie the necklace she picked up for her later. She didn't want upset her wife. Tanya would play it off if she knew she only brought Rosalie a gift but Isabella knew it would hurt her. Isabella would have to figure out something when she went back. "What did I miss here?"
"Nothing but your anniversary" Kate shut up as soon as Tanya shot her a look.
Tanya understood that sometimes her love had to go away to deal with the situations in other dimensions. For some reason the universe decided that Isabella was the perfect person to unite and protect every version of her and Tanya. It really was the ultimate love story. It was hard to remember that sometimes when she was away from Isabella but knowing how she felt when Isabella was away from her made the distance easier. She never wanted anyone to feel how it felt without their mate and if giving up her own for a while to ensure others got happiness Tanya was willing to do it. It was a small sacrifice in the end. Especially compared to the one Isabella made every time she traveled. Isabella was forced to go into unknown situations and Tanya was all to happy to be the calming presence that she needed when she got home.
"Will you have to go back?" Rosalie asked. She like Tanya didn't like when Isabella had to do dimensional travel. At least when Isabella went on missions in this dimension Rosalie could go with her friend but when she went places Rosalie couldn't go it scared Rosalie more than she let on to others. Even Emmett didn't know of her extreme worries. It would just upset him. He was as understanding as one could be about the bond she and Isabella had but it was better not to push that.
Isabella sighed. "I have a feeling that even if I don't want to I will be pulled back there. The group seemed like they were ones that danger sought them out constantly."
"Well there is nothing to be done until the time comes." Tanya stood up lifting Isabella up bridal style. "Now I want to celebrate our anniversary. It may be past it but I still have things planned for you."
"We know what those plans are." Kate gave them an over exaggerated wink.
"Leave them alone Kate." Rosalie scolded. Watching the retreating couple Rosalie called after them. "We will let the queens know you are home and that you are not to be bothered for anything other than emergencies."
Getting no reply Kate turned to the other two. "When do you think we will see them again?"
"Not for a couple days." Rosalie told her smiling. It was good her friend was home and although she was anxious to spend time with Isabella she knew that Tanya needed to first. It didn't stop her from planning out what she wanted to do once she had time with her friend though. She just hoped that Isabella was wrong about the danger to come and if Isabella wasn't then Rosalie hoped that she would be able to stay safe when facing it.
