KaibaCorp Tokyo Offices were a great deal like the head office in Neo Domino.

Nice, clean, professional, petrified...

Malik wasn't really sure what he could do to help the staff, as they sat there constantly eyeing Mokubas' office door with apprehension. Mokuba wasn't thrilled that Ryu was in Neo Domino, with or without Zalinka's presence two weeks later. Unlike Mokuba himself who had ever been obedient to his Older Brother, Ryu had resisted all instruction to return back to his fathers' side.

Which meant, the longer Ryu was gone, the faster and more sharper, Mokuba's venom filled tongue was prone to...

"You have the nerve to come in here with that and the first thing the program does is 'crash'?!" Mokuba's outrage penetrated the thick walls, the heavy door, probably added a new gray hair in Ms. Kinoshita's tightly bunned up hair. Was he even allowed to 'use' those words in Japan?

Malik looked up from the magazine to face the poor secretary, as stalwart and calm as she appeared she was also a much older lady. Ms. Matsumoto was fighting to retain that level of professional calm that Kinoshita had mastered through her time with the older Kaibas. But he saw her make several anxious glances to said door.

The Final Boss door burst open and a team was literally on their knees and crawling backwards out the door as they sobbed out their apologizes.

'Get a soothing tea, and brace for a lot of tech talk I know nothing about...' Malik mused to himself as he pushed himself to his feet. Despite the comfort of the couch he had been sitting on, there was now that unpleasant pull on his old scars from moving. He wasn't exactly sure 'which' words were being pulled out of place when he stood. But 'this is going to hurt' felt like it could have been a possible sentence.

"Lord Kaiba please forgive us!"

Malik walked over to the tea and coffee tray and pulled out a good soothing chamomile before placing it in a cup. The steaming hot water came next and the wafting scent of the flower was comforting even to Malik.

"I swear if you come back with an absolute failure of a prototype again..." Mokuba was growling as he stalked out of the office.

"Tea, Mokuba?" Malik called out with the cheeky brazen tone of someone that Mokuba wasn't the boss of. The type of cheek that got the man to automatically turn on the blond and begin another blistering tirade about Zalinka and her hair brain schemes. While the poor development team beat a hasty retreat to the elevator.

Thankfully 'not' the elevator of the Neo Domion head office because if they had, the one they just rushed blindly into could have seen them dead before they reached their floor.

"And she and I are ever in the service of Yugi's divine presence so you can try to remember that no matter how hairbrained she can get... She's got a great overseer. Not to mention Ryu is always under the protection of your brother and the Blue Eyes," Malik replied with a serenity that he channeled from his sister.

Also comments that he recalled confusing Ms. Matsumoto the first few times she heard him speak of the matter.

"And they are currently in Neo Domino, the literal epicenter of the Zero Reverse." Mokuba growled before he took the tea.

Which was good because he took it, not snatched it, and began stalking his way back into his office. When Mokuba was 'really' angry he was prone to snatching cups and scalding himself, which was one thing. That he was at a point where he could 'ignore' that pain, wasn't something Malik was thrilled about.

"Well they're not going to cause another Zero Reverse with their positive attitude," Malik pointed out while just towing the tea trolley with him. After all, Mokuba wasn't the only one thirsty! Even if his ambivalent attitude earned him a scowl from the young CEO. "Mokuba the whole world is anxious enough as it is, must you add to the growing issue?"

Mokuba scowled into his tea before he took a sip, "needs honey..." he retorted and went to the trolley and started digging around for the flavor that would fit his mood.

"'You' need honey," Malik retorted with a faint smile before turning to shut the office door.

The office was a mirror copy of the one Mokuba used in Neo Domino, since the office was purely for Kaiba, be it Seto or Mokuba, it was important that neither men were stuck floundering around looking for things. Mokuba had explained that to Malik and the others years ago when they had visited the office.

The desk was in the same location, as were the guest seating chairs, and the table with the video monitor set up was still where it had been put out to display. Causing Maliks' heart to fall.

Yugi-N, short for Yugi-Neko was a 3D hologram projected entity created by Seto for Mahaado. In an effort to create a means for Mahaado to learn Japanese at an easier pace, Seto had made a video game type city for Mahaado to interact with. Yugi-N was meant to be the character for Mahaado to latch on to, as he always did.

The character looked as Yugi did back when their adventures began, a ten year old but actually 17 year old teenager. The only real changes was that this Yugi had lion ears, a lion tail, and a compulsive need to chase balls of yarn. Seto only gave it to Mahaado, and Mahaado's own in game avatar was himself with fox ears and nine tails to go with the Japanese theme. Though Mahaado had more a desert fox appearance to everything...

Both were on the screen, Mahaado was napping cat like allowing his tails to drape over himself but also a sleeping Yugi-N with a sign resting against him reading 'Can I come home now?'...

"This doesn't happen here... Its always been at the head office," Malik recited, as much to confirm for himself as to try and touch on why Mokuba exploded.

"Yes." Mokuba was violently squeezing the honey into the cup to justify his shaking hands. Big brother Yugi had allowed for Yugi-N to interact with the physical world. Often times using Yugi-N to say the things he could no longer say given his position. But Yugi-N was meant to be child like for Mahaado, meaning Mokuba had a bit of a friend his own age tagging along from time to time...

So why did the image show up here?!

He wasn't part of KaibaCorps official line, or visible to the staff when the gang was here... But he stopped appearing when Yugi left the world.

"Mokuba..."

He had been good, waited for them to come like he promised, waited for Big brother Yugi to come back like he said they would. Held on to the company and fought off buy outs and attempted take overs. But Yugi never came back and that damn deck that he burned and tossed into the ocean, set a laser to, nothing he did was enough to get rid of it.

Now it was with Ryu who was 'just hanging out' in Neo Domino.

Just hanging out near the one place that could set the whole world into self destruct mode, simply by letting Fudo, Yusei get a little depressed. Because that was what that idiot scientist did, tie a system meant to empower the WHOLE WORLD to a very young baby.

"Sometimes faith isn't answered in a second..." it was the only thing Malik could think to say as he pulled Mokuba into a hug. Tears were leaking out of Mokuba's eyes, salting the tea even as the honey was now forcing the liquid to spill over as it was displaced.

"How did that 'faith' save Mai or Valon? Why didn't Big Brother save them?! Why didn't he save the people on Satellite?!"

Trembling from head to toe, over 20 years of trying to be Seto when he wasn't, and as much as Malik wanted to tease Mokuba. The disappearance of the pair and the fate of a whole chunk of Domino was just strange. Was there a reason why Kaiba hadn't extended his protection over the island?... 'This is too much, he can't take anymore can he?' Malik pondered. "Ok, get me a helicopter, I'll fly over to Neo Domino and bring the kids back... Just..."

Just 'what' though? Malik couldn't think of a nice way to say 'calm the hell down' given he wasn't a jerk of that level. Maybe get Anzu to come and look after Mokuba while he was away? Wouldn't hurt to give her a call.

"No, I need to go get him... I am his father and its my responsibility to get him," Mokuba argued as he pushed himself away. His eyes drifted back to his cup and he scowled at it for a moment before he grabbed a second cup located under the top of the tray. "I suppose this is our own fault, Big Brother knew father better than I did and I only had Gozoboro. Maybe that's why I'm so terrible at this."

"You're not terrible, I was just as awkward with Zalinka. Ryu's a good boy, and I know that your faith is constantly being tested regarding Yugi and Kaiba. But have faith that your son knows who to trust." Malik pointed out as Mokuba scowled.

"He's trusting a dead deck and an untrained Ka summoner."

"Oh and Izayoi who would be considered a potent priestess in her own right." Malik pointed out , "She's been active since a 'child' and for how much she could do? If she had been in Kemet you know she would have been in either Yugi or your brothers' Circle."

"But she's also dangerous, unchecked or checked, she's got triggers that make her a threat to anyone if they're used." Mokuba pointed out, "shame the prison system wouldn't let me get my hands on Divine before he escaped."

"You would have done to him the same as Seto given how dangerous he is," Malik pointed out before he went to the screen. Yugi-N was still staring out at the world and a pang of longing hit the older man. Hit a button and Yugi-N would walk out sleepy eyed and ready to help... Now he was just as he was programmed to be, ready to help a random person learn Japanese...

"Ok, so one cup of tea, and then we go out. Hopefully when we get back your R&D department will still be part of the living." Malik offered before taking a sip of his cooling tea.

"I wasn't that bad."

"They were crawling on their knees backwards in tears. You're doing Seto proud at this point," Malik pointed out.

"Father won't be thrilled by this," Ryu pointed out.

"We had nothing to do with it," Zalinka pointed out.

"There's a smoking crater."

"Its not a 'crater' just a hole..."

"Big sister."

"Just a hole."

"A whole that is just large enough to swallow the building that holds Momentum."

"We can live without the Project, we did for ages," she pointed out as the smoke continued to fill the air.

"Not if we're at the epicenter."

"Anyone ever tell you, you have the positive energy and outlook of your father?" Zalinka asked as she looked down with a mild scowl on her face.

"Anyone ever tell you I work for KaibaCorp?" Ryu deadpanned to her.

"We're going to die aren't we?" Junko asked in horror as she finally processed that massive crater that was just smoke rising from the ground up.

"Ok, can we try for a positive outlook?" Zalinka asked in annoyance. "We're talking about the big spinny machine that doesn't like criticism."

"Sorry," several voices called out behind Zalinka while looking at the horizon as viewed the twins condo.

"Well the reading 'said' it was the worst luck if you went out!" Carly called out from inside the condo before making her way out. There was this twisted desire to get a good look at what this 'crater' was, as it validated her reading. But it was a 'crater' it was near 'Momentum' and it meant there had or was a possible on going 'battle'.

Upon stepping out, she decided she would rather step back in for the size of the 'crater' was massive indeed. She was used to at least 6 different buildings in that area alone, the roads included in the usual street block formation. None of them could see the actual shape of the hole, it could have been any number of jagged rough shapes. It was the plumes of smoke that rose up that was worrying, because the facility that housed Momentum 'did' have a thick protective wall around it. But did the crater reach or destroy the wall?

They were in rather rugged clothes in case of emergencies, Carly had her jeans and her vest but her shirt had been replaced with a slightly thicker weaved shirt of muddy gray. Junko and Momoe were in much the same outfits, with added pockets for medical supplies. Zalinka and Ryu were pretty much at a loss and were dressed as they generally did. Having not really planned an extensive long stay and with their ride toast they 'were' basically trapped into getting what they could from abandoned stores.

Which was the reason why Zalinka got to enjoy a light spring Yukata for a week so score. Pretty cherry blossoms and delicate branches, simple but wow. While Ryu was able to get a few outfits for himself and a tally of how much he and Zalinka now owed said shop owners.

"So should we cook for tired fighters or prep for medical emergencies?" Junko finally asked as she watched the plumbs of smoke sway in the wind.

"Possible medical, is... that is fire? What could cause that source of light?" Ryu asked pointing to where he saw said light. The gray plumes of smoke were illuminated there, but it wasn't the typical shades of gold to single fire... Then it was gone.

"Dragons or Spirits..." Momoe suggested as she watched the lights blink out. "Could be the Gemstone Spirits for example."

"So can you ask if it would be good if we joined them now that the explosion is over?" Ryu asked looking up at Carly.

The reporter blinked behind her large glasses as she looked down at the child, he did make sense after all... "I'll be right back." She turned her steps back into the condo where the Dragons made their main hub. It wasn't as empty as it used to be, a rack with computer gear was sitting against one wall, there was a rack with coats posted near the elevator. Blankets were pulled out showing that the twins had begun prep work for when the cold season arrived.

Her cocoons lit the room with their soft golden light as she moved to the wheel, her mind drumming through questions she could ask. She had put the Wheel on the living room table so she didn't have to walk far before she was seated before it. Thankful for her cocoons she took a breath and focused on her question.

"What is our fortune if me and the others go to the crater that just got created?" She asked before spinning the wheel with a flick of her wrist. The clacking of the pins against the pointer filled the air as the shadows crept about the corners of the room. Color spun past her eyes as her various fairies blurred past her view. Still cold plastic, not her warm adorable spirits even though she was spending more time with Aki than ever before. Blurs of such rich colors that she missed now that the world had shifted so dramatically.

'Focus!', she growled at herself as she realized her attention was shifting. "What is our fortune if me and the others go to the crater that just got created?" she repeated in an attempt to retrain her focus to her question.

In answer the Wheel began to slow down, while it didn't slam to a stop like in some cases, it 'was' slowing like a proper wheel. Causing Carly to stray her eyes to see who would announce their fortune to her. Until she saw the blur of faces growing clearer amid the color.

Hikari.
