This is the best moment of my life, Jennifer thought to herself. She felt somewhat certain that nothing in the world could feel this good, could fill her with such absolute bliss. She gasped as a shiver of pleasure echoed through her body.
Jonathan had anchored a little ways off the coast of San Clemente Island where the Navy ran a small base. Jonathan had spent some time there when he was in the military and knew exactly how close they could get without getting in trouble. This wasn't a popular spot like some of the other islands. They were entirely and beautifully alone.
And since they were alone, they indulged in the gentle rocking of the boat on the water and the warm sun and the comforting breeze. Jennifer had already pulled her shirt off over her head with the excuse of getting a tan—something she had no intention of doing since she didn't have any interest in getting skin cancer—and waited for Jonathan to respond. He ogled her blatantly for a moment since all she was wearing was a blue string bikini top and her cutoff jean shorts. The fact that she loved being admired and desired made her feel a bit guilty and anti-feminist, but oh what did it matter if Jonathan was the one to look at her that way? He was the only man she wanted to attract anyway. She wouldn't be putting on this kind of show unless they were well and truly alone.
But then Jonathan took the upper hand when he removed white polo shirt and her mouth went dry. God in heaven, there had never been a more delicious man in all the world. He was like one of the Avengers only better. She much preferred a bit of chest hair and natural bulk rather than the super-defined muscles and sixpack. Her Jonathan was a golden Adonis with his natural beauty. Not an anabolic steroid or protein powder supplement in sight.
"The bow is a nice place to lay out, if you want to get some sun," Jonathan offered.
She looked back up at his face and found him with a very smug smirk. He knew exactly what he did to her. Any other man, she might be annoyed by that, the way he so easily took the power away from her. But she didn't feel a single ounce of annoyance right now. No, all Jennifer did was laugh. "Come lay out with me," she insisted.
Jonathan took her hand, and they kept each other steady as they made their way to the front of the sailboat and laid out a couple of oversized towels to lay on. The façade of laying out for a suntan evaporated very quickly.
And that was how Jennifer found herself lying back on the deck of the Valentine with the sun on her face and Jonathan's lips caressing her neck and his hands sliding up her exposed belly to palm her breasts through her bikini top. The ocean breeze cut the heat of the sun very nicely. Jennifer's nose was filled with the salty spray and the delicious scent of Jonathan.
This was pure happiness.
"Darling," Jennifer said, almost moaning from his touch but catching herself.
Jonathan lifted his head to look at her. His hands remained on her bare skin. "Is everything alright?" he asked with concern.
She wasn't usually one to interrupt when things started moving this direction, so his worry was understandable. But she wasn't going to stop him for long. "I just wanted to tell you before I forgot that right here and now, you've made all my dreams come true."
His brow quirked slightly as he said, "Well, I don't think I've really put in the effort yet. You give me a few minutes after I peel those shorts off you and maybe that'll be better."
Jennifer laughed. He was always making her laugh. "No…well, yes, you're probably right about that. But I just meant that all I've ever wanted in life was to be free and happy. And you've given me that. We're out on the sea in this beautiful boat and we're together and it's just…it's more than I ever dreamed, actually. I love you so much."
Jonathan's smile filled his whole face. It wasn't that smug pride he'd displayed before. This was pure joy. She knew that he loved her just as much and she also knew that they hadn't been together long enough for either of them to be tired of hearing the other one express those feelings. Actually, they'd probably never get tired of it. Jennifer certainly wouldn't get tired of telling him.
He leaned in and kissed her, not saying a single word. But Jennifer felt in his lips that he felt just the same.
This, she thought to herself, changing her mind, now this is the best moment of my life.
