Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Dusk's Rise. Enjoy the 2700-word chapter. I do not own Destiny, Bungie, and Microsoft do.

(Mars)

Sam shot the last of the Psions as he motioned for the group of vandals with him to move.

"Ok, we steal, we leave… Do not stick around." Sam ordered as he sighed and realized he had ZERO clue.

2 dozen dregs and vandals followed him along with a Captain. Sam motioned for them inside a building that was shattered every second floor, perhaps due to a battle… But he did not know.

He did not know a LOT of different things; this was one of them.

"Stealing from the cabal… Great, now we have a species that blows up PLANETS angry at us." Sam muttered, not once pausing to do something as he followed.

He reloaded and slotted another group of bullets into his hand cannon, letting the bullets land in the sand.

To him? Well, this was FAR beyond the pale, far beyond it and he knew it. Granted, trying to steal from the Cabal was SOMETHING they could do.

Yet? Sam did not falter. He did not want to be kell but he also did not mind helping if they finally decided to back off humanity at the end of the day.

There was enough blood split for a lifetime and this was more than enough for him as he sighed.

An explosion behind them caused chittering as Sam turned and motioned for them up the stairs just as a pair of Harvesters unloaded more reinforcements.

"Damn it…" Sam muttered before he turned. "Go grab what you can, take it to the roof. We are going out there." Sam said as he turned and fired twice.

A pair of Psions fell to the ground… Before a wave of phalanx Cabal began to open fire. Sam cursed and ducked into the hallway as a pair of micro rockets demolished the hallway behind him, spraying plaster, and mortar across.

Sam could only curse and realize the rest of them were coming and he? He was outgunned which made him realize this had gone from a raid to a siege.

(With Eramis)

Eramis looked at the several dead Psions and then she pondered what to do… What COULD she do? She and he were different but it seemed he was willing to do something.

Granted? That something was fighting off an ENTIRE ARMY of the Cabal but it was enough for her. Most Kells would ditch their soldiers the second things went too pair-shaped for it to be considered now.

To be fair? He was also trying his best to fix it now, all of it would be harder and harder for him to fix now, and for good reason. He was one soldier and she was another one now.

He sighed and then she looked to the side, pausing to think of it all now and for good reason. All of which was fine by her.

Yet? She knew damn well what was going on either way as she thought of it… She had stolen many a ship, many of which had been from her enemies… Now? Now she was working with said enemies.

To be fair? She had done worse… Well, worse than this now, worse than a lot of things, seemed to have been in the way.

To be fair? She was also willing to fight and to act as well as one could have now when push came to shove. She did not at all wish to want anything in the way.

She of all warriors was willing to help but it would be odder and odder as of now.

Part of her wondered what was happening with Sam.

(With Sam)

Sam kicked away one of the Psions which had his knife inside its throat, pausing to shoot another.

Sam backpedaled with obvious amusement written across his face. Now? Now of all things did he need to deal with the bad guys… Now of all things did they decide to start dealing him a more lethal blow?

As he did so? The captain who had come with him had decided to honor its Kell, leaping onto a Cabal Phalanx as Sam sighed and tossed a shock grenade over his shoulder.

"My kell? I shall aid you… Retreat to the top and we shall extract you." Sam heard as he snorted.

"With all due respect? We have not stolen what we need from here yet." Sam stated before the low chortle of a Fallen officer came in.

"We're stealing the entire vault if we have to." He heard to which he smirked.

Sam liked whoever this was already… All they were missing was a good name and he would have a good friend.

Well, to be fair? His friends wanted to kill him and he was not sure where he stood with his allies now… 50% was a good number and he kept it vague on 50%.

Well, that was at least good until they decided to stab him… Then he supposed it could go to 25%.

Sam decided not to let details slow down his role as Kell. This job called for action, not a little thing like morality. They had a LOT more to deal with and he all was tired, very tired now, and for good reason.

This move would end…. All of it would end and he would laugh at it but it would have been trivial for him to have ended it any single damn way.

They had a LOT more to deal with, a LOT more to have fought through now, and for good reason. It would end… Eventually? This was going to have an end now and for good reason. It would all die sooner.

Sam backpedaled, his cloak billowing with a pattern he was not familiar with. The dregs and vandals of Dusk followed, vibrant purple cloaks or scarves affixed to their bodies.

Sam followed them up the stairs as a collection of Sand Eater legionaries climbed the stairs, their slug rifles belching out shots at him.

Sam followed, his hand cannon booming out twice which caught 1 legionary in the helm, causing them to crash to the ground, black ooze seeping from their suit.

As the small group reached the second floor, they were greeted with a further amount of Dusk warriors led by a rather imposing captain.

"More are coming… We hold off for now." They stated before Sam sighed.

Sam watched as a pair of dregs began to work on cracking the vault. Most of the dregs and vandals, those without shock blades, all took positions at the far end of the room, several tipping over cabinets or desks.

"I am Baron Breviks… Baroness Skriviks ask I help." The hulking captain spoke.

"Well, nice to meet you," Sam stated as more and more gunfire flew past them. "Ok, shoot at them…. Lady? Whoever you are? I do not think we can just tear half a building out and fly away with it." Sam stated.

"No… But we have little option." He heard Sam hum and then thought of their next option when it came crashing to it for now at the end of the time being.

Sam was tired and he was far more amused now, far more eager to get into the danger once more. They had a LOT more plans to do and a LOT more plans to execute when it was all said and done for now.

All their plans? All that Sam wanted to do was beyond this, they had a LOT of different ideas.

(With Eramis)

Eramis watched as her minions loaded up an entire ketch with treasure, mostly food and ammo. She knew that the rest of her fleet, many of which were stolen from other houses, would be ready…

To be fair? To her 12? The House of Dusk had 7. They were a collection of different houses… It was clear if they were united before. They would have an empire stretching the solar system.

All of it now seemed to be amusing her and for good reason. Sam had gone from a mere hunter who had stalked her cloaked self across the galaxy to a warrior who now ruled more than half her people.

Part of her was amused, she was too interested in what her own goals were growing on her mind when it came down.

She was too eager to think of it when it came crashing to the ground before as she paused, too interested in it all as it came to an end for now as it was.

Eramis was silent for now as she wished to be done and dusted as she wished to crack her fingers and then thought once more.

Eramis looked at the sky, resting her weapons at the time being on her shoulder, turning her cloak up when it came down to it as she paused to try and figure it out when as now.

She looked to the side. She looked around, looked through her good eyes at the sky, and questioned what was going on with Sam.

She did not want to believe what was growing on her mind at the time being. Eramis did not at all know what Sam was doing, she did not wish to question what was being done for now.

One of her minions walked to her as she paused to think. She had her plans and he had his, they had a LOT more to talk about now.

Eramis hated guardians but Sam? She could tell he was a survivor, a warrior who was proud of who he had been when it came down to it.

(With Sam)

Sam seemed to be done and dusted as Sam spun his hand cannon and shot another legendary, watching as they collapsed to the ground.

"We're winning, yeah?" Sam stated to which the Baron chuckled before he seemed to think of what to do now.

Sam fired again and the Vandals and Dregs watched as the steel-eyed hunter put bullet and bullet into the heads of Legionaries, laying out 6 in pure order.

"Lady? Either you need to extract us soon or you need to drop a bomb the size of a city on these guys." Sam stated before ducking to reload.

"I have a plan, my Kell. I simply require time." Sam heard.

"You got 15 minutes, lady," Sam said as they chuckled before he looked to the side.

Sam was perhaps eager to think of what was growing and what was being done for now. Sam sighed as he rubbed at his temples, too prepared for the time being.

Sam wanted to be done and dusted, too relaxed. This battle was something to try and figure out now and for good reason.

Sam thrived in battle. He danced through battle; he danced through this sort of thing when it came down to ideals as now.

Sam wished to be done once more as it seemed to grasp what was occurring while he seemed to try and figure out another angle.

Sam sighed, spun his gun, and then loaded his gun once more, something else was growing on their brain before now, and for good reason at the end of the day, they had a LOT more.

Sam motioned for the rest of the others up the stairs, they were too eager to think of what he could do for now as it was all said done, and dusted.

Sam found it to be more amusing than one normally would and for good reason, they had a LOT of things which he had to focus on, a LOT of monsters in the closet at the end of the day when the push was over and it was all done.

Sam watched as the rest of House Dusk rallied around him, raising their weapons. Each shot of the Vandals firing their shock rifles sent several Psions to the ground, their armor smoking.

Gunfire greeted them, Sam and his soldiers fired off shots and shot again and again. All of them were ready to die… But it was clear the bandit clan was far more vicious than the Cabal had guessed.

Then came the sound. With a horrible crunching of metal and glass being shattered and broken down to their component pieces, he turned and looked over to see a Ketch hovering above, wires attaching from the craft onto the roof… And then punching down.

Sam wanted to laugh, they were not trying to steal the roof, just rip the vault from the building and fly off with it, he found that too amusing to be angry.

Sam sighed and then looked to the side before he sighed, thinking of it for now as he clicked his fingers and he sighed once more.

Sam was all too interested in the battle. The House of Dusk was too interested in what was growing for now on his mind.

(With Eramis)

Eramis watched the giant ketch which was busy floating over the skyscraper. It was odd that the rest of the House of Dusk was keeping their odds at the time being.

Eramis chuckled, amused, very amused when she clicked her fingers against one another before they came crashing down.

Then came more gunfire, more Cabal soldiers. She had raided plenty of bases when it came to the side as she looked to the side.

He would have been done and dusted now and she? She would be able to think of what to say when she found the kell when it came down to it.

She fired again and again, and her shrapnel launcher continued to belch out more and more shrapnel as she paused to question her orders, she questioned her next idea.

Their house had been coming to the forefront. A few days ago? She had ruled an empire that spanned the entire galaxy, she had been at the top of her game, and had even twisted the darkness itself to her control.

She and he were now equally left with power, far more than they could wield at their fingertips. She would never believe she could be challenged on such a scale; never once would she have to deal with another challenger.

Granted? She had underestimated the rules of her people. She had believed the Eliksni were too weak to attempt to question her decision to take over the entire species.

But they were not, they would remain at the top of the food chain regardless of what happened.

Her people were stubborn and set in their ways… This is exactly why Eramis knew the Whirlwind would take them soon enough if they were not careful.

Yes, it seemed some sort of way which only he could have comprehended now. All of it was too much, all their deeds were harder and harder to figure out now for good reason.

They held onto FAR too much before, something which had been done now at the time being.

She of all people was far beyond him, he was far beyond this… They held onto FAR too much to this, something which needed to be done for now.

He had been able to try and figure it out as he paused to think of it for now as the time being, he seemed to be amused when it was all over now… Such a thing was too much to figure out when it was all said and done.

He had a lot more to try and figure it all out now when it was all said and done, all of them were too interested in it all for now. He had been tossed this way and that all now when it was all said and done.

Eramis… The ship thief, the Kell of the Darkness. The leader of House Salvation when it was all said and done. She did not even seem to be tipped off by it all when it came down to it

Sam was interested in her, he would continue to interest her.
