Chapter 15: Bail Or No Bail
Michael sat on the couch, he was sipping on a glass of bourbon and watching his personal copy of 'Meltdown'. Amanda walked in the living room, she wore a purple nighty and her brunette hair was down and wavy. "Hey, you wanna come upstairs?" She asked him. Michael looked up at his trophy wife, his jaw dropped. "Sure." He replied. Suddenly a knock on the door caught their attention, Amanda walked to the door. "I'll get it." She told him. Amanda opened the door, to see Trevor standing there soaking wet from the rain. "What do you want, Trevor?" She asked him. "Hey Mandy, is Michael home?" Trevor asked her. Amanda sighed, she looked towards the living room. "Michael! Trevor's here!" She shouted before turning around and going upstairs.
Michael walked to the door, he looked at Trevor who was in a state of panic. "Hey, man. What is it?" Michael asked Trevor. "Stepahnie and Packie have been arrested, we need to go bail them out." Trevor replied. "Arrested!? How!?" Michael asked in disbelief. "Stepahnie threw a rave at my club, and drugs may or may not have been involved. They got her for trafficking, and Packie for assault on a police officer." Trevor replied. Michael grabbed his leather jacket off the coat rack, he then grabbed his keys. "Come on, goddammit." Michael said with frustration in his voice. They got into Michael's Tailgater, before leaving the driveway and driving down the street,
As Michael drove, he was berating Trevor. "This shit is exactly why Penny didn't want you around Stephanie! She knew with your influence, that she'd end up in this state. And the fact that she can't fight to save her life makes it worse. She'll be raped the first night in prison, this shit is on you!" Michael screamed. "Fuck you, Michael!" Trevor screamed back. "You think I wanted this to happen!? That kid has alot of me in her, she will be okay. And we're all wealthy, we can afford a good lawyer." Trevor told Michael. "How much drugs were stashed in the club?" Michael asked Trevor. "I'd rather not say 'Dad'." Trevor replied. "You better pray for a miracle Trevor, she's been my niece alot longer than you've been her father. If she doesn't get out of this, me and you are going to have a problem." Michael told Trevor. They continued on, towards the LSPD headquarters.
Michael pulled into the parking lot, he and Trevor got out of the car and walked in the building. The receptionist was talking to the detective, who arrested Stephanie. They approached the receptionist, she stopped the conversation and looked at them. "Can I help you?" She asked them. "Patrick and Stephanie McReary, we're here to bail them out." Michael replied. "I'm sorry, bail hasn't been posted yet. It's Friday night, they won't see the judge until Monday morning." The detective explained to them. "So, they're just supposed to stay in lockup until then?" Trevor asked him. "Well, no. The county lockup has been shut down for extermination. They will be going to the state penitentiary until they make bail." The detective replied. Michael looked at Trevor. "Okay, fine." Michael said before turning around.
The two walked out of the police station, Michael lit a cigarette and took a long drag. Trevor was pacing the parking lot. "This is just fucking great! I told you after the last big job, low profile." Michael told Trevor. "What the fuck do you mean low profile? That ain't me!" Trevor hissed back. "Let me tell you what low profile is not. It's not robbing casinos, it's not killing an entire mob family, it sure as hell is not opening a night club and pushing a felony's worth of drugs!" Michael continued. "Fuck you Michael! I don't have a 9 to 5 job as a movie producer, I don't have a two hundred and fifty million dollar country club! I have TP Industries! And yes I put in the work! This is life to me! So get off my fucking back!" Trevor shouted as he got in Michael's face. Michael threw a right hook at Trevor, knocking him down. Trevor looked up at him, he was shocked. "Find a ride home." Michael said as he threw down his cigarette. Trevor slowly stood up, he assessed the situation briefly before walking to the road and hailing a cab.
