"See man, that wasn't so bad." Nick offered him a smile, a friendly pat on his shoulder as they walked out of the courtroom. They had spent nearly an hour in the pretrial hearing and the only thing that was known was their trial date was set for two weeks away.
"Greg, as much fear and trepidation you have running through you right now…" His attorney smiled, putting Greg's file in his bag. "You have more than enough character reference and more than enough proof Ms. Stein vacated her parental rights…"
"Don't…" Greg hissed, overwhelmed by everything, his brain a hazy fog. "Don't jump to conclusions. I am not getting my hopes up… and I'm certainly not going to give Rebecca the satisfaction of seeing me fall apart."
"We know that Greg." Sara smiled, pulling him in a tender embrace, sighing as he fell into her, his tense body relaxing against hers.
Sighing in her arms, Greg pulled her closer, burying his head into her neck. "I love you."
Sara's hand stopped its gentle movement in his hair, pulling back, her eyes caught his. 'Did she just hear right?' "What?"
"I said I love you." He whispered, his eyes dancing across her stunned face, his hand lifting to caress her cheek. He had felt it for so long, but hadn't had the courage to say it.
Heart racing, Sara smiled, unshed tears in her eyes as she leaned into his touch. "I love you too."
Pulling her in, he captured her lips, giving the court house a passionate display of their love for each other.
"Alex is gonna be so happy about that." She replied breathless, pressing her forehead into his.
"Of course she will… she's been pushing me to tell you." As a distraction he played with the hair hanging off her shoulder.
"She has?" The brunette questioned, her eyes searching his face as he stared at the hair on her shoulder. "For how long?"
"Four months…" At her shocked expression, his eyes dropped between them. "I was afraid of telling you too soon… I didn't want to scare you away. Alex has become attached to you."
Sara's expression softened with his words, her hand cupping his chin to bring his eyes back to hers. "You've could of told me then.. Alex isn't the only one whose become attached."
Greg's eyes widened in pure shock. "Really?" When she nodded, biting her lip, his heart swelled, pulling her back into him. "I love you so much."
Seeing the attorney walking toward them from down the hall, Sara pulled back. "Maybe you, me and Alex can have a movie night… then when Alex goes to bed you and I could…"
Greg didn't need her to finish, his eues wide. "I'm down."
Sharing a kiss, they bid their goodbyes to Nick and Greg's attorney before leaving.
The sounds of heavy breathing were the only noises that could really be heard echoing through the room.
"I could get used to this." Greg mumbled between kisses, his lips moving aggressively down her neck, holding her bare body close to him.
"Mmhmmm." Sara whimpered, her arms surrounding his shoulders, holding him close, her head tilting to give him more access. A jolt of want coursed through her as his lips closed over her nipple, making her let out a low moan. "Your not tired?"
Shaking his head, his lips captured hers, his hand cupping her neck, pulling her closer as the kiss deepened. "I want this… I want this forever." He groaned, burying his head deep in her neck.
Sara was shocked as his movement ceased, his hand tracing lazily up and down her arm. 'Did he just what she thinks he did?' "What?"
"I was not trying to say it like this…" Stretching across her, Greg reached into his side table drawer. Sliding back over her, he sighed. "This was not how I was going to ask, Alex helped plan everything out."
"Greg?" She questioned, feeling him place something on her chest. Looking down, her eyes widened, her heart sky rocketing to her throat seeing the velvet box laying against her breast. It sat open, the beautifully simple and elegant diamond ring staring back at her. "Oh my…"
"Will you marry me Sara?"
Staring at the beautiful gem, Sara stuttered. "You… you said Alex… helped you plan something?"
Taking a breath, his nerves shot, Greg eyed her face, trying to read it. "Yeah… she wanted to help."
After a minute, she licked the dryness from her lips, closing the lid and pushing the ring box to him. "Then do it."
"What? Sara?" Holding the box, he stared at her completely shocked and confused.
"Do it with Alex… the proposal."
"… but Sara?"
"Greg…" Grabbing his cheeks, Sara forced his eyes to hers, a large grin at her lips. "Do the proposal with Alex. No matter how you ask me my answer is the same… yes."
Greg's eyes doubled, his breath escaping him before he leaned forward, catching her lips in a passionate kiss, pushing them into another round.
The next morning, they stood in the kitchen, Alex still slept soundly upstairs.
"Greg." Sara groaned, her resolve was slowly dwindling as his lips came back to hers, her hands threading through his blonde locks, trying to keep up with his passionate mouth.
"My fiancé." Greg whispered when they broke for breath, his forehead pressing into hers.
Smiling at his words, she caressed his cheek, reminding him. "Alex will be up soon."
"Fine." He grumbled, pressing a kiss to her lips before stepping over to the stove.
Rolling her eyes Sara put her arms around his stomach, hugging him from behind. "You really want to have her see you all over me?"
Turning in her arms Greg had an even wider grin on his face, pulling her closer. "Well, she will have to just get used to it, because when were married it'll happen every day."
"Just when were married?" Sara replied smartly, giving him a leering eye. his answer answering kiss was welcomed, her arms enclosing around his neck, pulling him closer and deepening their kiss.
The uncontrollable giggle of a six year old broke the pair apart, their eyes moving to the mop of sandy blonde curls, a bright smile in her eyes and on her lips.
"What are you giggling about Lex?" The brunette asked, amused by the little girls response to their coupling.
Grinning widely, the little girl's eyes glistened. "Cute… silly cute!" Her words turned to a squeal as Greg moved from Sara to scooping up his little girl.
"The only silly cute thing here is you monster." His fingers went to work eliciting droves of giggles until they both plopped on the couch, out of breath. "Pancakes?"
"Yeah."
Sara grinned from across the room, pulling out the ingredients, they always used for breakfast. She couldn't wait for their little family to be permanent. "Hey Lex, you want to go shopping?"
"Shopping?" Alex questioned, sitting down at the edge of the counter, her father moving back next to the brunette, his own eyes questioning.
"Yeah… you have school coming up, I thought you and I could go clothes shopping."
"Really?" The little girls eyes widened turning to Greg, her eyes turned hopeful. "Can we?"
"Of course sweetie." Turning to Sara, he added. "Your going to be so tired afterward."
"That's ok." Sara winked at the little girl, turning back to her boyfriend, she smiled. "And when we get home we can model for you."
"Your getting clothes too?"
Her smile turned into a grin as she stared into his eyes. "I was thinking about it."
The look in her eyes sped up his heart tenfold, then her words replayed in his head. 'We can model for you.' He nearly sputtered out his coffee, making Sara laugh as she started cooking their breakfast.
"Careful daddy." Alex smiled, oblivious to what transpired between the two adults.
"I am baby." Greg said, knocking Sara in the shoulder. "You are evil."
"You know you love it." Sara snickered watching him, wipe up the spilled coffee, she turned back to the little girl. "After breakfast we'll go."
"Cool." Alex grinned, stabbing a piece of pancake and placing it triumphantly in her mouth, making the brunette snicker.
"So where else should we go?" Sara asked the little girl as they walked past a strip of stores. Finding themselves in front of a bridal store, the brunette found herself stopping, her eyes lingering on all the beautiful gowns.
"Can we go in here?" Alex bit her lip excitedly, her own little eyes moving across the lace and taffeta in awe.
"Why should we go in here?" Sara implored, her heart swelling at the look in the little girls eyes, her excitement.
"To look around…" Alex giggled, her eyes lighting up further, staring the brunette in her eyes. "Maybe get some ideas for when you marry daddy… you do want to marry my daddy right?"
If possible, Sara's heart felt like it would burst from her chest. She already loved this little girl so much. "Eventually yes, I'd love to marry your daddy."
Satisfied Alex grinned, pulling Sara into the small bridal boutique, her eyes wide, ooohs and awws breaking from her lips, pulling the older woman from rack to rack. Stopping at one particular rack, the six year old turned to her older counterpart. "You should put this one on."
"I…." Sara started to protest but the pout and plead om the young girls lips stopped her immediately. Pulling the dress from the rack, she stepped up to the sales person. "Excuse me ma'am would I be able to try this on?"
"Normally you would need an appointment…" The older lady smiled, eyeing the little girl behind Sara. "…but I see your with your daughter, so I can make an exception."
Sara almost protested at the woman's assumption but found she couldn't, her heart swelling once more at the thought. "Thank you."
Even as simple as the dress was it was nothing short of elegant. The empire waisted dress was covered fully in lace and beading, the fabric covered her bust leading to straight lines at her sides, dropping to a slightly puffed skirt.
"You look beautiful." Alex admired Sara, her eyes bulged in awe, a wide grin on her lips.
Sara had to admit, looking in the mirror, the dress was stunning, something she could definitely see herself wearing on her wedding day.
"Sara…" Alex whimpered, drawing the brunette's eye, tears streaming down her small cheeks. "Would you wear this dress to marry my daddy?"
"Yes sweetie, I can." Sara cried, pulling Alex into a tight hug.
Greg, seeing his girls step into the house, grinned, his eyes darting between his suspiciously quiet daughter, who bolted upstairs, and his even quieter girlfriend, who neared him. "Hey, how was clothes shopping?" When she didn't respond, he stepped in front of her, asking. "Sara?"
Her answer was to grab both of his cheeks, pulling him into a slow passionate kiss, that left him in a daze, his arms circling her waist to keep from falling over.
"What was that for?" He panted minutes later after they pulled apart, their foreheads pressed together.
"I cannot wait to marry you."
"I can't wait either." Greg whispered into er as he pulled her closer, only then did he notice the shake in her body. "Sara, you're trembling." Pulling back, he found a seriousness in her eyes that shocked him. "Sara?"
Before either could say more, Alex pounded down the stairs, yelling. "Daddy!"
Stunned, Greg held Sara closer, while eyeing his approaching daughter, her arms behind her back. "Alex, what's wrong?"
Ignoring her father, Alex turned to the brunette. "Sara?" The little girl waited until she turned around before pulling out what was behind her back. "Sara, will you please marry my daddy?"
Overwhelmed by the emotions from their shopping trip and seeing the ring box in Alex's hands, Sara dropped in front of her, nodding. "As long as you're there with us, yes. Absolutely."
"YAY!" Alex squealed, jumping into Sara's arms, burying her head deep into her neck.
Dumbfounded, Greg shook his head, dropping down between them. "Lex, baby, you stole my line. I'll take that." He chuckled, grabbing the box from his daughter's hand. Opening it up he pulled the littering diamond from its nestled spot, laying his palm out he eyed Sara. "May I?"
"Yes, yes of course." Sara grinned, tears in her eyes, lifting her hand from Alex's back, both eagerly watching as Greg slid the ring onto her finger.
Staring at the ring, Sara beamed, enveloping both Sanders in her arms. "I love you both so much."
"We love you too." Alex boasted before Greg could, her arm tightening on her soon-to-be mother.
"What she said." Greg snickered, nodding to his little girl before placing a tender kiss on her head and a lingering one on Sara's forehead, letting her know without words that he still planned on showing her his love for her.
