An hour and 6 minutes later…

Whoa whoa whoa whoa! Trying. To. Keep the. Ship. From. Spinning. Out of control!

"Ah, please. There's no need to fight, we know who is responsible for you and your loved one-", Tara negotiated.

"WHY SHOULD I TRUST YOU?!", the-aaaah… spirit shouted in anger, "LAST TIME I TRUSTED SOMEONE, HE KILLED US!"

Aaaaah, this is…one really angry spirit. They're the reason this ship…is out of control. I would asked for help, but Tara is busy negotiating and the only other living thing here is barracuda. So I'm having a hard time right now!

"We know Black Bart has caused you pain, but we're here to stop him", Tara said on her knee.

"STOP HIM, HOW CAN YOU STOP THAT IS UNDEAD?!,", the spirit shouted letting out some kind of…I don't know.

Wait. No no no, not the sails!

"We will not only summon Black Bart, but we will also summon Death himself", Tara said, "He will be the one to end Black Bart's rampage"

"…"

Oh good it stopped doing whatever it was doing. The sails aren't seriously damaged, buuut it could use some sewing.

"…How do I know you won't betray us?", Huh? Whoa said the ghost who was in Tara's face.

"I won't, we-

"Trust us", Huh wha?, "If not her, believe us beloved", Oh…said another ghost who appeared beside Tara.

"….Alright…", Said the ghost who calm down.

Man that was too close. I wish I could relax, but…we got more ghost to collect. Hope they're not THAT angry.

39 minutes later…

They were that angry. I really, really, reeeeally hope, the Chief doesn't have our heads for this. Those last six ghosts cause some damage on the ship. I say this while facepalming and walking to the graveyard beside the old church.

"Okay this is the place", Tara said opening the gate then walked into the middle of the yard.

"Sssoooo how are we going to get them to… you know, get Death?", I asked then shrugged.

"Hmmm…"

"Hey there!", we heard someone say.

We quickly turned around, and there was a skeleton. Is that Black Bart?

"Them spirits is mine, I took 'em fair and square!"

"No!", Tara shouted, "These spirits deserve peace!"

"Then I'll take ''em back!", Black Bart said taking out his sword, "You lot along with them!", he shouted stabbing his sword into the ground.

All of the sudden, the ghosts we collect appeared and went straight to the tombstones. One by one, a bunch of undead started rising from the ground. Dang it, we're surrounded!

"Tara", I said pulling out my axe, " Is there a way to, you know, repossess the unpossess the undead?", I asked looking around.

"I don't think I can, not while he's in control"

Dang it.

"Hahaha, your souls are mine!"

"That's enough", said a calm voice?

"Huh, wha?"

I quickly looked around. And there he was, Death. Wearing…glasses?

"Black Bart, we have unfinished business", Death said calmly.

"Oh no, no!", Black Bart panicked.

"*Snap* There that's done", Death said making Black Bart disappear. "As for the rest of you, time to go", he said gently and slowly waving his hand.

The undead, they're slowly turning to dust.

"Thank you", said one ghost.

"Thank you"

"Thank you"

"I'm sorry I didn't believe you", said the ghost that nearly destroyed the ship's sails, "Now we can finally move on, thank you", they said before turning to complete dust.

Whoooa.

"Now, to other businesses", Death said, "All of you, come here"

Okay? A little rude.

"Hello Mr. Death", Tara said politely with a bow, "Thank you for appearing and saving us and the souls"

"As expected from you, Tara Fairlead"

"You, know my name?", Tara asked lifting her head up.

"I know everyone my dear, including what you want and why", Death said, "You want to find Captain Blood and stop them"

"Yes! Sabatini here says the cards will help, do you know anything about that?"

"Yes, and it's all very troublesome", Death said adjusting his glasses.

"Do you think you can sum it all? We're in a bit of a hurry", I said.

"Mari!", Tara said.

"No, no I'm with the child", Death said, "It's rather long and tiresome, so I shall explain the short version"

Oh good, I was afraid we were going to get a boring history lesson. Had enough of those growing up.

"Before I had a chance to take Blood on his deathbed, he challenged me to a friendly game of cards"

"A game of cards?"

"Yes, I have a gambling problem", Death said", "And I'm getting help for it"

Death having a a gambling problem? That's not strange. Him getting therapy for it, THAT'S strange.

"You…do know you gambled with a pirate? A rather evil one at that right?", Sabatini said.

"Yyes, I found that out the hard way" Death said, "Anyway, there we were playing cards and in the final hand he raised the stakes then bet me his immortal soul. I had him. That's when he cheated"

"Cheated?", Tara and Sabatini said together.

"I played my cards, but Blood went to the bathroom and never came back. And he took his cards with him"

Wait what?!

"I'm sorry, what?!", I said confused.

"Patience, let me finish", Death said putting up his hand, "So here we are, stuck in limbo: I can't collect Blood's soul because I haven't won the game, but I can't win the game because the game can't end- Blood's hand remains unplayed"

…..I know most of you are laughing right now, but if you're like me, you'd be star struck from all this.

"It was a dreadful loophole, and of course I've had the rules changed, but I'm afraid it doesn't work retroactively"

WWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHAT?!

"Yes, I know it's all dreadful improbable"

"….."

"Yes, yes I know he's made me look quite the fool. Look, I didn't asked for you do. You called me"

"Ooookkaayy, sssoo all we have to do is get the cards back and put them on the table?", Tara asked.

"I'm afraid it's not that simple", Death said, "Captain Blood's cards must be played by his own hand, on the table where my cards are still waiting"

Well that puts willingly and forcefully completely down the skies.

"Wait, wait wait wait! I've got an idea!", Sabatini said with excitement.

"Well before I go, I want you to have this", Death said making a bell appear in his hand, "Call me when you somehow manage to…you know"

"Yes sir", Tara said taking the bell.

And just like that, poof, he was gone.

"Okay everyone gather around, here's the plan", Sabatini said.
